I'm posting the next set of nominating polls early today so you still have time to vote in the first round if you haven't already. There will be one more set of nominating/ranking polls tomorrow and then brackets will be revealed. For those unclear about what nominating polls are, please read the description below. As a little teaser, the following shows will also have a character in the contest: The 100, Agent Carter, The Americans, Bates Motel, The Big Bang Theory, The Blacklist, Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Chasing Life, Criminal Minds, Daredevil, Doctor Who, and many, many more. Feel free to speculate on which character it will be. I'll reveal 10 more shows that are in and didn't need nominating polls tomorrow.
Nominating Polls - The remainder of the polls today are nominating polls. Remember this will determine which character represents a show in the contest. Not all shows will have nominating polls but since we have many more than I expected, it will take 3 days to do them all. Characters in the nominating polls had to meet the following criteria:
1. They had to have at least 5 nominations.
2. They had to be within 5 nominations of the most nominated character on that show unless they got over 20 nominations.
3. If 2 or more characters got over 20 votes, they went in the nominating poll regardless of the difference between them.
Nuts and Bolts - All polls are 1 vote only. Polls will close roughly 24 hours after they start. There is no option to change your vote so please choose carefully. As with all SpoilerTV polls, it is 1 vote per IP address so trying to vote multiple times will not count.

I am not sure when the next set of polls will be up. There is a chance that these ones will need to finish before I can get the next one up because tomorrow we will have a few ranking polls. If that is the case, it will probably be around 6 pm CST. Either way the poll will be up for 24 hours so you'll have plenty of time to vote.
ReplyDeleteConnor Walsh vs Annalise Keating is a hard one, but I go with Connor Walsh, because I nominated him. I will support my favorite show in this cup anyway, no matter who wins this poll. But tbh I didn't expect Annalise to gain the lead. Connor has so much buzz with Coliver and everything.

Hopefully this will be the hardest it gets for most people. Having to choose from favorite characters on the same show can be very difficult.

ReplyDeleteEh, my two least favourite characters from OUaT xD In season two I'd have chosen Hook in a heartbeat, but now the less I see him the better so I chose Emma.

ReplyDeleteNope. There is no nominating poll for Criminal Minds because only 1 character had enough nominations to get into the contest. That happens a lot when there is such a large cast and everyone gets fairly equal screen time.

ReplyDeleteI don't really mind which character from The 100 made it since I love them all :) I'm gonna guess Clarke though. I'm interested to see which TBBT character made it in. I wanna say Sheldon but for all the fans he has, a lot of people hate him too. Howard and Raj are my least favourite so I hope it isn't them. I'd like as many characters to vote for as possible but if these nominating polls are any indication it isn't looking good!

ReplyDeleteBellamy had a fantastic character arc in season 1 but I would agree that this season was all about Clarke. As for Doctor Who, we decided last year that although the character is played by a lot of different actors of varying quality, it is still 1 character so he isn't separated by actor.

I was surprised by Regina as well, considering she is who represented OUaT last year. She was 3 nominations shy of being in this nominating poll. For awhile it looked like Connor was going to take the whole thing for H2G. I knew he was popular but I didn't realize he was that popular. Sarah missed the nominating poll by 1 nomination, Delphine by 2, and Cosmina by 3.

ReplyDeleteCriminal Minds was on the top end of number of characters nominated. Teen Wolf had the most with 13 but Criminal Minds was in the top 10 I believe.

You are absolutely right. We're using this new poll system and I have to convert everything to British Summer Time instead of using my own time like I did with Polldaddy. It's driving me insane. Also, I can't seem to reopen the poll to fix it. Sorry about that. I'll have to talk to Andy about whether I can open my own Opinion Stage account and remedy the issues I'm having with it or go back to Polldaddy, because if I can't fix it in the contest, it will be a problem.
ReplyDeleteApparently Disqus ate my comment. You are absolutely right. We are using a new system instead of Polldaddy and I have to convert everything to British Summer Time. I used a time change converter but obviously I did something wrong and put the wrong time on it. I have tried to go back and reopen the polls, but it will not let me. I'm not sure why that is but I'll ask Andy to see if we can re-open them some other way. Sorry about this. I really miss Polldaddy at this time.

ReplyDeleteThe confusing answer is both. When I put the closing time on the first post, it will be in Central Standard USA time. However the poll software uses British Standard Time. If I do everything right in the future, then the only time you'll see is American CST. The polls should start and end roughly at the same time each day, within 15 minutes, so if it ever seems to be closed too early or not closed soon enough, please let me know. I try to keep on top of the contest but today I was at lunch with my family so I didn't see it. Again, sorry about that.

ReplyDeleteI quit watching every episode during the middle of S2, I didn't really get into it much, though had friends who watched it so caught an episode here and there. I did quite like one episode, White Tulip, I'm a sucker for time travel stories, and my friends would beg me to try other episodes a few times afterwards saying it was like that one. But I never did like them I'm afraid, my intense dislike of the two leads really didn't help matters, lol :( sorry.
