Sadly the answer is Yes.I have nothing against Toby(he's a good actor) but i never understood the appeal of Francis.No offense to anyone.To each his/her own,i guess.
I like Francis but this show is about Mary's raise and her real story starts with Francis dying. Moving back to Scottland, meeting hubby no2, giving birth to his child the feature leader of England and Scottland.
Yeah, me too. He's the only character on the show I don't care about. But I blame mostly the writers, they didn't give him much to do except to be whining all the time.
A million times yes and I think it would be better for the show. Nothing against the character or the actor and I don't really mind Francis and I like him most of the time but it would be better for the show.
Are you kidding?! There were times when the prospect that he might be gone soon enough was the only thing that kept me watching! (And no, I'm not a militant Mary/[insert other male character] shipper. I just don't like Francis and think his relationship with Mary is toxic.)
I would. I like the show and I would be curious what happens next. I know that Francis will die soon but I'm not happy about it. I actually like him and feel sorry for him.
I hoped Francis would die by the end of S02 but they nope, we'll stick with him for at least 10-15 eps, if not the whole season. Hoping they will try to give a bit insight in Mary's post Francis life in S03.
francis in season one was ok but i was always more team bash francis season 2 became a dick and really annoying and i came to very much dislike him so much i stopped watching the show which is so sad cuz the first season i thought was so amazing i was really let down by season 2
I don't really get why people keep saying this. Him and Mary were nearly married for three years and they've been married for a little over a year on the show right now.
At this point, no I wouldn't. I would have if they hadn't completely obliterated Mary's character last season, but now I really don't care about her. I thought he was going to die by the end of season two, but they took the show in a completely different direction for no reason.
I feel like they don't have enough time to tell the story of her life in Scotland. They should have focused on her life in France in S1, her life with her second husband S2, etc. This show is on it's last legs so I don't really understand how they're planning on doing a huge overhaul. It will probably get a S4 for syndication purposes and that's it. Plus, if Mary goes to Scotland, I'm pretty sure they keep all the characters at French Court and there will be so many characters on the show.
The writers should have planned it out better. If they wanted the show to be about her life in France, then they should have done it. If they wanted a mixture of France and Scotland, they should have gone to Scotland WAY SOONER.
Mary became so unlikable in S2, and it's hard enough for me to keep watching for her. And not to mention the writer screw up every pair in the story. Francis/Bash/Catherine is the only thing that keep me holding on. But after Francis dies, I don't think I'll stay around any longer. Bash hardly had a decent screen time in S2 and I doubt he'll get more with the adding of more characters, and the catherine-narciss-lola triangle... urgh... I'm not staying to watch more of that either.
Yeah their time managment isn't the best. They got way to much frary into their head. He should've died at least in this season premier. They can still tell a lot of story but I hope that till the end of S03 she'll at least leave for Scottland.
Nope! After this past season, I barely can stand to look at Mary. Honestly, I don't care what happens to her once Francis is gone and it will be a relief to take the show off my DVR.
Of course! I know that this show is loosely based on the historic events but I don't think they'd go as far as not killing a character who dies in history. Also the show is about a lot more than just Mary and Francis and I really wish more peope could apreciate that.
I have said repeatedly, this show is so worth watching. Francis died for real. You can't twist history, but because they wrote Season Two the way they did, it did extend his life. The affair with Conde was necessary and so many gripe about this. Sorry. If people watch only to see Francis that is being unfair to the other cast. Their stories matter too. Catherine de Medici was quite a woman of history. She was no fair daisy. My favorite is Bash and I do want to see more of him. I support this show 110% because it's worth it.

I find it kind of odd how many people are surprised at how unlikable the show portrays Mary, and would stop watching because of it. She comes across as a far less fickle and sanctimonious person in the show than she appeared to be in real life. She is infamous for making terrible decisions, constantly, which led her to her ultimate demise on the executioners block.
Actually when season 2 started, Francis and Mary had been married only weeks. And it was said on the show that Mary started her affair with Conde just months after she was married. So this season ended with months (maybe a year) into their marriage while Mary & Francis were married almost 3 years in real life.
Well that may be true in real life but you still got to like a character to keep watching the show. After all, we are all busy and have other demands on our time. And frankly, they wrote Mary completely unlikeable this season imo.

They were indeed married for 3 years but Henry died 1 year before Francis (around 2 years into the marriage) so we're actually around 2 and a half-ish years into the marriage by those landmark events.
It's not a question of "if", its "when" he dies and of course I will continue, the show is about MARY and so long as she lives in the show, I will watch.
Yes! The show may be about Mary, but for me Francis is the star. He's become the heart and soul of Reign and, like Mary's real life, will turn to crap once he dies!
Of course. We always knew his days were numbered, and Mary's life after him has much to explore. Including another marriage and a child. I'm in it for Mary above all.

ReplyDeletetbh I doesn't depend on Frnacis for me, it mainly depends on if the shows quality starts to improve. The last season was horrible in my opinion.
