seems like Harold and Root could make it out. But Reese does not seem terribly likely to survive once the series finale comes along. Don't care about the others really. It would be nice bookend to his character though. I kind of don't want him to make it out alive. Not that I hate his character, but it would seem too unlike him.
All of them ideally. It would be fantastic to be able to believe they are still in New York stopping crime before it happens long after the series has ended. The sentimental value in that just can't be beaten.
Ideally, they'd all make it. If I had to choose one, it would probably be Finch, but I see Root and Shaw's fate intertwined and I think they're both going to make it and take over what Finch and Reese started.
Actually i have this feeling that Finch is not gonna make it, leaving his machine to be his legacy. For the other i don't know: Shaw already "died", Reese is an obvious candidate so i exclude him, Fusco i don't have any idea, and i feel Root might die in an attempt to save the machine.
Gee Wiz I would not be counting my chickens regarding this show, given the decisions the CBS network are making re POI. If CBS get their way the show will be dead at the end of season five.
Do you think they will bring POI back for a shortened season six consisting of say 10 episodes ( 113 episodes ) or just pull a 'Mentalist' on us and "Wham Bam Thank-you Mame " we're done without warning ?
Would be 'interesting' to say the least if they brought it back for five episodes to wrap things up in season six ... bringing the total episode count to '108', with Michael Emerson ' s connection to Lost . ;)
Ha, love the LOST connection there. :) Well, I'd say there is a chance, but a rather slim one, to be honest. As far as I heard, CBS basically pushed POI back to midseason to probably let it end on a shortened run. However, they supposedly also have in mind to renew it if their new shows were totally failing and they needed something to step in.
If they really are serious about ending it, I hope the POI Writers will know about it as early as possible - maybe they've even been briefed already. They won't be allowed to tell us though, not until CBS announces. :/
No matter what it'll be - I'm hoping for a planned and satisfying ending, for both the writers and us. :)
Unless this was done so 'Shaw' could have some time off to give birth and raise her child in real life as well as give Michael, Jim, and Amy some much needed time off.
Once everyone is rested up and back in fighting shape season six will come charging back stronger then every.
I too think that John won't make it at the end of the series, I think if anyone survives it will be Harold or perhaps Root, but I voted for Harold to survive. They might very well all end up dead. I really hope not cos I love the idea of a Person of Interest Movie. I just have this feeling when Harold said in season one that he and John would probably both end up dead. I believe this was foreshadowing by the writers and if Harold ends up living, I'm guessing that Root is dead. Either way, I don't want anyone to die.
That's where I am. This "we don't know if it will be the last season or not" routine from CBS makes me nervous. I just want POI to have an acceptable ending. I would not be adverse to it ending on Netflix, if CBS decides to string everything along and then drop it at the last minute. I just want a decent ending.
Putting it down for Fusco and Finch. Finch will get his happy ever after, and Fusco will end up surviving because he's Fusco, but I don't think John will make it out alive. Maybe Shaw will because we've already done the whole death arc for her but I don't know. Of course they could pull a twist on us and have everyone survive/everyone die, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Fusco lives on. If they continue the trend of making him completely unaware of the AIs and only ask questions, then I see him being alive when POI ends. This also means that, yes, I am afraid that everyone who is aware of any of the AIs will die.
Bear for sure, perhaps with a flash drive of the machine's base code on his collar, lol.... and if I had to guess - Finch maybe, and Fusco as involved as he's been, I don't think that he's been fully read in on the war of the AI's yet... if and when he does that would probably lower his survival rate imo.
@DarkUFO Is there a way I can request one of my polls not be used? I made one a couple days ago thinking that Beyond the Tank was going Tuesdays at 10 (put there was no PR) and I don't want to cause confusion amongst site readers.
Maybe that is how the Netflix series could begin. I personally think his son would be too old for this part but Fusco could pull his grandson up on his lap and start telling the stories of how he convinced everyone he was a bumbling fool but was really a part of the team that saved the world.
CBS could end the series with a satisfying ending and then Netflix would not be tied to a timeline. And if any actors don't re-sign and had to be replaced the differences could be blamed on Fusco's memory.
I reckon in series finale, someone... most likely Finch or Reese.... will wind up sacrificing themselves to restore/save The Machine to how it was before Samaritan (or better) and/or destroy Samaritan. But the rest will survive.
I can't imagine Reese surviving. Root will probably die. Shaw will likely live, albeit under unpleasant circumstances. There's no way Bear or Fusco will die. Finch would go either way.
I'm not sure if CBS treats Person of Interest that badly, but if you can prove me wrong...
I'm certain Person of Interest is a show that'd merit a heads up if they're getting canned so they can wrap things up. We'd know by now if this were it. Season six could be the final season, though, if the ratings further decline.
Frankly, I don't think there's that much story left to tell, so I'd be fine with the writers gearing things up for a finale.
Imagine for a second the show ending with Fusco & Bear walking off into the sunset like the badasses they are after Finch, Root, Reese & everybody else dies while getting rid of Samaritian....the collective PoI fandom faints!
Yesss another one of my polls - I just had so much trouble choosing tho...I said Shaw, Reese, and Fusco. I have a feeling that Root will eventually die saving Finch or Shaw - possibly all of them. Finch seems a likely candidate to go down just because he started all of this. Reese I'm giving a shot just because i feel like Reese has to finally have something good in his life at the end of everything - idk how likely that is tho considering his streak but its character progress from the reckless even suicidal person he's been.
Wow - u took the way i was originally gonna answer this spot on...i think it would b nice to see the reformed dirty cop reminiscing the days of fighting alongside Team Machine. A really cool ending would be a bust of Finch like there was of Nathan being the last thing the camera focuses on accrediting him for the creation of The Machine - OR - on the graves of the dead team member and him visiting in the same area where Carter is buried
If it's at the very end and not shrouded in mystery again i dont think it'd b overkill like how many times r they gonna kill her lol but yea she's been killed 2 times now (Relevance and If-Then-Else)
Better question: "What viewers will still be-around when PoI begins?" Something tells me that CBS will delay until 2016. Sad, because (you know) I love this show.
Soooo - I think the coolest thing for Person of Interest to do at this point (especially considering the likelihood that the show may be coming to an end somewhere a little bit sooner than expected) would be to do a shift in time showing the fate of The Team after the A.I. war...I can imagine season 5 starting like this and painting the picture of the beginning of the end in its opening moments only to return right back to the last moments of season 4 to catch us up to how it came to be. This is basically the same thing they did with Breaking Bad in the season 5 premiere and the remainder of the show. I imagine like in LOST we see only certain characters like Jack and Kate in the first flash-forward reveal leaving it up in the air who still remains besides them...If there's only 13 eps left then the chain of events and causality should come full circle around episode 11 or 12.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Bear is the only sure candidate to still be alive when the show ends.
ReplyDeleteseems like Harold and Root could make it out. But Reese does not seem terribly likely to survive once the series finale comes along. Don't care about the others really. ReplyDeleteThis show wont end with season 5 it be season 6 probably
ReplyDeleteReese, Finch, Root, Shaw, and Fusco.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that so many people think Shaw will die, she's already had 'one death' as per say so she's probably the most safe on there.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is Finch, Fusco, Root, and Shaw. Although I think Finch & Root could go either way.
Ideally, they'd all make it. If I had to choose one, it would probably be Finch, but I see Root and Shaw's fate intertwined and I think they're both going to make it and take over what Finch and Reese started.
ReplyDeleteYep. The only way I see Shaw dying is if her and Root die together for the greater good.
ReplyDeleteSeason Five is only 13 episodes right ?
ReplyDelete( 103 eps for the series if season five is it's last )
All the clues go towards this, but the official words has been it's not finalized yet
ReplyDelete(Assume 13)
Harold Finch.
ReplyDeleteNone of them.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is Reese and Root die, and Fusco, Finch and Shaw stay alive.
ReplyDeleteActually i have this feeling that Finch is not gonna make it, leaving his machine to be his legacy. For the other i don't know: Shaw already "died", Reese is an obvious candidate so i exclude him, Fusco i don't have any idea, and i feel Root might die in an attempt to save the machine.
ReplyDeleteGee Wiz I would not be counting my chickens regarding this show, given the decisions the CBS network are making re POI. If CBS get their way the show will be dead at the end of season five.
ReplyDeleteOnly Fusco will live. And many years down the road he will tell the tales of his fallen fellow heroes to his son.
ReplyDeleteDo you think they will bring POI back for a shortened season six consisting of say 10 episodes ( 113 episodes ) or just pull a 'Mentalist' on us and "Wham Bam Thank-you Mame " we're done without warning ?

ReplyDeleteAnd like Maximillian "Max" the Bionic Dog should have .... Bear will get his own "Person of Interest" spin-off.
ReplyDeletehttp://bionic.wikia.com/wiki/Maximillian
Fusco, maybe Finch. Far outside chance of Root and Reese.
ReplyDeleteShould have had Bear in there as well.
I find it funny this poll came out the day she was promoted to EP.
ReplyDeleteYeah, my opinion as well.
ReplyDeleteThat's where I am. This "we don't know if it will be the last season or not" routine from CBS makes me nervous. I just want POI to have an acceptable ending. ReplyDeleteThis poll struck fear and dread in my heart.
ReplyDeleteFinch
ReplyDeleteOther: BEAR
ReplyDeleteSo people think Shaw is going to die, AGAIN?
ReplyDeletePutting it down for Fusco and Finch. Finch will get his happy ever after, and Fusco will end up surviving because he's Fusco, but I don't think John will make it out alive. ReplyDeleteThe Machine will survive the end of the series

ReplyDeleteHe will outlive them all

Finch and Reese
ReplyDeleteIf you give 5 options I guess I'll vote for all 5 of them.
ReplyDeleteFusco will survive thanks to his 'light' Denise Thé. Rest? Make sure Denise kills them off as interesting as possible.
ReplyDeleteI think The Machine will be the only one left from the battle aftermath where all die to save it.
ReplyDeleteYes then Samaritan as it dies asks The Machine "Was it worth it?"
ReplyDeleteImagine for a second the show ending with Fusco & Bear walking off into the sunset like the badasses they are after Finch, Root, Reese & everybody else dies while getting rid of Samaritian....the collective PoI fandom faints!
ReplyDeletei sometimes still dont understand how samaritan hasnt identified fusco as team machine ally.
ReplyDeletei think shaw and root will survive while fusco and reese sacrifice for the machine.

ReplyDeleteI would go also with the option that Root is forced to take Shaw out but dies at the same time after a fire fight with her
ReplyDeleteAnd i had submitted this poll like a month or so ago so it is a funny coincidence
ReplyDeleteWow - u took the way i was originally gonna answer this spot on...i think it would b nice to see the reformed dirty cop reminiscing the days of fighting alongside Team Machine. ReplyDeleteLOL. I hope Root and Shaw go on to live happily ever after. Maybe adopt Bear, if he's still alive
ReplyDeleteNice idea but I certainly do not foresee Bear living nor do I see either Root or Shaw getting out alive.
ReplyDeleteBear
ReplyDeleteBear. The dog is immortal. No need for flashbacks.
ReplyDeletePOI ratings are high for renewal
ReplyDeleteIf I die, I'll just come back. Did it once already
ReplyDeleteThe Machine
