Yeah, Supernatural is actually older then The CW network (since it started when it was The WB). I believe on a technicality Supernatural is actually the longest running US Science Fiction show too (the technicality being how the Supernatural genre is generally a sub-genre of Sci-Fi).
The poll would maybe be a bit better if it was concept like: Which of these shows will last longest from this point forward?
I would probably say Flash and Arrow have most seasons in themselves from this point on. Arrow till season 7(4 more) and Flash maybe 5 more till season 6. I mean with the amount of story they already covered especially in Flash s01, I don't see them being shows that push past 7-8 seasons.
Reign could do 2-3 more seasons, I mean Mary has a long path to go from here and that is the really good part but we'll have to wait and see how loyal the fans will be in S03. VD I don't see move past S08, even though people are skeptic for it to reach S08 but we'll see how the Fall numbers will look like. TO could do 2 more seasons as well, and will most likely to reach syndication. SPN I don't watch but wouldn't be surprised if this is the last one. iZombie hmmm that is a tough one! I say we get those 3 seasons we need for syndication. The100 I hope it really gets numbers back up around 0,7-0,8 next year but very doubtful even though we all praise it a lot. My current guess it will maybe end with S04. JTV will reach syndication but would be surprised if it gets passed this.
Supernatural keeps on chugging along. Soon it will beat 7th Heaven for longest running show on the CW. I don't see The CW lasting long enough for any other show to take its place, not in its current form that is. I wish iZombie would last that long. As good as The 100 is, I don't think there's enough story for 11 seasons unless they kill off the main characters and new ones take their place. Thee's only so much drama and painful decision making any one person can take.
Supernatural seems like a foregone conclusion given the number of seasons already under its belt, but nothing is ever a sure thing. There are newer shows like Flash and Arrow which fit in so well with the current comic/superhero craze. If that craze lasts, and it seems to be growing, who knows. All I care about right now is The Vampire Diaries running as long as possible. Vampires seem to be old news now but you know the undead - they're hard to kill. If TVD comes up with some quality story lines and lasts through Season 8 I will be ecstatic. I think that's the best I can reasonably hope for. So listen up Julie Plec - don't screw it up!
Supernatural, it's older then the CW network even.
2nd I think will be The Vampire Diaries. Personally I think it'll get another 2 seasons and end (1 full season and 1 shortened final season). If they really get their act together though then I could see the show getting a second wind...I think it's unlikely to happen but...who knows.
I doubt BATB, The 100, iZombie Reign, JTV and The Originals will see a 6th season (or for most, a 5th).
Arrow and The Flash are the wildcards. Superheroes are the current craze and as long as that lasts they'll most likely stay on the air. If I had to estimate, then I'd say another 3-5 seasons for each perhaps?
SPN-I see it lasting til season twelve so CW doesn't cancel two long running successful svetrans at the time( meaning VD& SPN) VD-I'll be suprised if s7 isn't it's last, despite Pedowitzs belief/hope TO/Reign/Jane/BatB I firmly believe will end with four seasons-just enough for syndication& proper endings like HoD,Nikita Arrow-I think maybe 2-3 more seasons flash-five seasons total at least easily The 100-I'll be suprised if s3 isn't the last for it IZombie maybe 2 more seasons. It depends on its ratings with s2 in fall& how many episodes s2 is
As in total number of seasons – Supernatural, easy. As in cancelled/ended last – Maybe Flash. iZombie could go for awhile with the procedural format, but the ratings would need to be pretty steady (or ideally pick up a little) for the show to be around 4–5 years from now.
I don't see any show on the CW getting more than 7-8 seasons so nothing will beat Supernatural's run. SPN Arrow The Flash I think the rest are dead and gone within the next 2-3 years. Some by this season's end.
SPN, Flash and TVD. I don't care cause a) I don't watch them b) I prefer shows that last less but are worth remembering and there's no chance that long lasting shows won't become less and less enjoyable
Msybe.but CW does now hits like Arrow,Fladh& most likely Legrnds to replace it and it's ratings fell a lot this season plus Jared was suffering from exhaustion.
The 100 is not CBS &is far from syndication while the CBS shows you mentioned are/will closer/get to syndication faster.IZombies already at 0.6,you really think it'll last six seasons?
Supernatural...BATB could last longer than anyone thinks considering it got renewed before airing its current season. As long as the actors want to continue, I see Arrow&Flash continuing a lot longer. Everything else I'd say will be cancelled in 1-2 seasons of their current season. Which in some cases (like the 100) I'm okay with that. I want to be able to like it for forever & not dislike later seasons. I don't think season 3 will be the last for it on the CW maybe a shortened s4, and although I'm being hopeful... a pickup somewhere else could see 1-2 more seasons with a 6 season finish.
Maybe. But as I said it depend on ratings,IZombies already at 0.6, it won't take much for it to fall into the danger zone especially since with with the showrunner wanting shorter seasons,it'll take much longer to get to syndication which means it's at a disadvantage same as The 100.Im not sure it got full second season either with Legrnds,Containment,The 100& WLIIA waiting at midseason.
True. The CW is pretty jampacked this season. The second season can be a full season because it is a procedural show, but because of the scheduling and the pilot pick-ups, it's less likely. I want more iZombie episodes, though. :P
SUPERNATURAL is the best show in the world and Dean, Sam, Castiel and also Crowley are wonderful characters. SUPERNATURAL definitely worth other 11 seasons and more!!!
As much as I love Arrow and TF, I can't see either show lasting past S6 or S7. And that will probably be enough seasons. Even though I think SPN is pretty awful, I could see it dragging out another 2-3 seasons. I don't think CW show will match SPN's longevity.
I'd say going forward, Arrow and Flash, but that's really dependent on keeping the main cast around. TVD may survive without Nina, but Arrow will not make it without Stephen (same for Grant in the Flash). And all the body switching stuff they do not he Originals won't work. Flash and Arrow have such great actors too, I could see them not wanting to be tired down to a TV series for 11 years...maybe wanting to do movies and moving on when contracts are up. Some side characters already have. It makes me happy that my favorite shows have such excellent actors that can score big movie rolls, but it also makes me nervous :? I mean, I'm happy I get to see them on the big screen once in a while, but I'd rather see them every week on my TV :)
In its current state? Yes, I think SPN is a much worse show than Arrow or TF. IMO, Carver has no idea what he has doing, and I think his seasons have been awful!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Beauty and the Beast is immortal. It is going to beat Simpsons
ReplyDeleteSPN & The Flash. The former has 11 seasons under it's belt already,i think the latter, too, will follow in it's footsteps.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't pick 3. Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, The Flash and Arrow
ReplyDeleteSupernatural, duh!
ReplyDeleteI don't think any of the other CW shows have the longevity to last 11+ seasons.
I doubt any of the shows will last as long as Supernatural already. I wish they would but that's just my opinion :)
ReplyDeleteSPN has such a head start on all of these shows that I can't see any other series beating it.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural, The Vampire Diaries, and The Flash. Followed by Arrow and The Originals.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural,The Flash...thats it for me.
ReplyDeletehasn't supernatural already broken the record or sm?
ReplyDeleteYeah, Supernatural is actually older then The CW network (since it started when it was The WB). I believe on a technicality Supernatural is actually the longest running US Science Fiction show too (the technicality being how the Supernatural genre is generally a sub-genre of Sci-Fi).
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to write the same thing about Batb being immortal. ^^

ReplyDeleteIf it were up to me, it would be The 100 but sadly that won't have such a long life.

Beauty and the Beast. It seems to defy all of the laws of physics that govern the universe.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural&Arrow

IZombie maybe 2 more seasons. It depends on its ratings with s2 in fall& how many episodes s2 is
Supernatural, the flash and arrow!
ReplyDeleteI wish the 100 Lasted really long because there is still a lot of story to tell
ReplyDeleteAs in total number of seasons – Supernatural, easy.

SPN, Flash and TVD.

SPN and the superhero shows.
ReplyDeleteBATB and Reign may have at least 4 seasons (because of them being owned by CBS). Same as The 100 and Jane the Virgin.
iZombie could stay longer, six seasons perhaps?
The Vampire Diaries may end with season 8 (if season 7 does well). The Originals may have 5-6 seasons.
As long as Jared and Jensen wanna do it that show will stay on the air.
ReplyDeleteWhy anyone is voting for a show not named Supernatural is beyond me. I dont think any other CW show will ever go 11 seasons.
ReplyDeleteMsybe.but CW does now hits like Arrow,Fladh& most likely Legrnds to replace it and it's ratings fell a lot this season plus Jared was suffering from exhaustion.
ReplyDeleteThe 100 is not CBS &is far from syndication while the CBS shows you mentioned are/will closer/get to syndication faster.IZombies already at 0.6,you really think it'll last six seasons?
ReplyDeleteSupernatural will be hard to beat. I don't see any other show on that list with the capacity to reach double digit seasons.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural...BATB could last longer than anyone thinks considering it got renewed before airing its current season. ReplyDeleteWhat I meant is The 100 and Jane the Virgin will have at least 4 seasons, same as Beauty and the Beast and Reign.
ReplyDeleteYou can't blame me. I have high hopes for iZombie. It might stabilize or might rise. Hehe. ;)
But looking at the ratings of iZombie. 4 seasons could be it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe.

ReplyDeleteI'm hoping Supernatural will stay on long enough that Jared, Jensen, and Misha's kids can take over the roles. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Flash of course.
ReplyDeleteSUPERNATURAL of course. A whole wealth of stories still untold. Sam and Dean forever.
ReplyDeleteI see none of these shows beating Supernatural. Every one has aired on The CW except for the first season.
ReplyDeleteI thought the question was asking which show will be the last one standing.
ReplyDeleteI thought the question was asking which show will be the last one standing
ReplyDeleteSUPERNATURAL is the best show in the world and Dean, Sam, Castiel and also Crowley are wonderful characters. SUPERNATURAL definitely worth other 11 seasons and more!!!
ReplyDeleteFor me it's not very clear if it's the longest in total or from now on.
ReplyDeleteUgh supernatural.
ReplyDeleteExactly!
ReplyDeleteYes it was. But I wasn't very specific so that's my fault.
ReplyDeleteWithout second thought the 100 the best show ever getting better every episodes
ReplyDeleteThe Flash
ReplyDeleteWell SPN has them all beat. Even if it gets canceled in the next season or two any other CW show making that long seems a bit unlikely.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love Arrow and TF, I can't see either show lasting past S6 or S7. And that will probably be enough seasons. Even though I think SPN is pretty awful, I could see it dragging out another 2-3 seasons. I don't think CW show will match SPN's longevity.
