TVLine has learned that three new vampires will be thrown into the mix when the CW drama returns (Oct. 8, 8/7c), including the show’s first same-sex couple. (Note: This is all based on preliminary casting intel. It’s still early, so the particulars of any or all of these roles are subject to change.)
First up are Nora and Mary Louise, a dangerous duo of down-low lovers with murderous tendencies. The vampires, both turned in their mid-20s, have kept their relationship a secret for more than a century, and although their connection is clear to those able to infiltrate their inner circle, Mary Louise’s constant doting can sometimes feel a bit smothery for fiery Nora’s liking. Still, anyone foolish enough to cross either of them will feel both their wraths.
In addition to the aforementioned twosome, we’ll also be meeting Valerie, another 20-something vampire who relies on her dry sense of humor to counter a life of pain and dismissal. She’ll encounter someone who helps her remember the happier, free spirit she once was — and she’ll do whatever it takes to keep him in her life.

Incoming ValeriexDamon LOL. Dalerie? Vamon?
ReplyDeleteFirst same sex couple in that shows universe?
ReplyDeleteWhat about Carolines dad and his husband? Or Josh and Aiden?
Perhaps Valerie is that black from Stefan's past?
ReplyDeleteI'm going with Alaric or Matt since Damon needs to mourn Elena next season and if he was to hook up with anyone in seasons to come it would be Bonnie.
ReplyDeletejust on TVD
ReplyDeleteFresh blood. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteValerie I assume is one of the Heretics.
The couple could be interesting as well especially if they play the boys of MF.
I hope this seasons storyline will be well layered and developt, at least on par with S06.
I'm 99.9 % Valerie is one of the Heretics
ReplyDeleteLily said ones name was Valerie and another is Malcolm.
Leaving two other females ( Nora & Mary Louise ) and two males making up the six we saw.
Did we ever saw Caroline's step dad? He was mentioned, just as Luke's doc.
ReplyDeleteI really want to know who this person is from Stefan's past. I'm veeeeery wary of a new love triangle.
ReplyDeleteBut aren't all Heretics cousins? Or were there other families in the Gemini coven besides the Parker family.
ReplyDeleteit's really weird to see a TVD banner without Nina Dobrev
ReplyDeleteThey were just a group of different Siphoners that became Lily's new family.
ReplyDeleteNo mention if they were friends or related.
Valerie I think will be Matt's new love interest? Possibly a similar relatiinship he had with bex?
ReplyDeleteEvil lesbian couple, sounds intriguing...
I don't think they'll be hooking up or anything, just partners in crime lol. Plus, interviews have said Damon's going back to s1/s2 fun Damon. Matt is too busy being broody vampire-hating cop and Alaric is probably depressed like no other, he technically shot himself in the finale! Stefan is tied up with Caroline and all Enzo wants is mommy attention.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with 80% chance Damon, 10% Stefan(no more triangles pls), 10% Enzo.
Okay. I thought it were only Gemini Siphoners.
ReplyDeleteGood round up.
ReplyDeleteI agree with @- A. I too think that they are all Heretics. There are six of them and the show has to cast them sooner than later.
ReplyDeleteSweet.
ReplyDeleteYa know, for a show that has so many LGBT fans I am really shocked they've been so lazy about this. And announcing it now just seems like they are kinda like "See! We love the gays!" lol. I'd prefer a hot gay male couple but whatevs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQGhg_8K0Hs
ReplyDeleteIf there is a TVD god please Please PLEASE cast Juliet Landau and Julie Benz as Nora and Mary Louise.
ReplyDeletePlus, it sounds like they're an already established couple, so unlike all of the other relationships on this show, it won't be one that we get to see develop from the beginning, which would have been more interesting (we might get flashbacks, but it won't be the same thing).
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was they're gonna turn Bonnie into a lesbian once this couple is introduced. Lol
ReplyDeleteNora and Mary. Hmmm wonder what they'll bring to the show. Idc if they're lesbians, just as long as they're important to the main SL. I mean if they're gonna die within 5 episodes then I don't care about this news.
Nora & Mary Louise
ReplyDeleteAnother Josh and Aiden? Except evil?
ReplyDeleteThey better bring some deepness to te show and characters. i actually watched only 4-5 episodes of season 6: practically fast-forwarded the entire rest!
ReplyDeleteSteven was never shown so that doesn't count at all. It was just a minor SL.
ReplyDeleteNo. Steven never showed. I waited for him for years. Last season I finally gave up waiting.
ReplyDeleteI think the latter half of season 5 and most of season 6 has been the show's best work since s2. I really liked the new Elena, she was nice, but had much more of a personality, overall I just found everyone more interesting.
ReplyDeleteReally curious to see how I end up liking s7.
Julie this NEEDS to happen !!!
ReplyDeleteHeretics that are going to die by the end of the season. And Valerie will fall in love with Enzo.
ReplyDeleteI'm SERIOUS. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhy are you asking me? I didn't write the script. Did you not get the article?
ReplyDeleteagreed on Elena. the only thing i liked was the vampire Elena (which was more cheerful and alive) and the chemistry between her and Damon. they turned Caroline into a really awesome woman and Alaric's been complete since the beginning. but Tyler, Mat, Enzo and specially Stefan's Characters are just frozen! they don't improve. they show nothing new. the originals brought some freshness but were taken out to form "The Originals" series. and the plot also moves forward very slowly. it does excite me sometimes but not as much as before. i don't wanna keep losing interest in my favorite show before it finishes.
ReplyDeletei don't know why, i'm no expert but maybe they should combine Originals and TVD again or at least make a crossover to see how it turns out.
No male vampire?-Yawn!
ReplyDeleteWhat show is this from?
ReplyDeleteYou slut. Hahahaha
ReplyDeleteGay men don't like lesbian track much-everyone knows that.Looks like i'll be fast forwarding all of their scenes.LOL!
ReplyDeleteBuffy the Vampire Slayer
ReplyDeleteHow many episodes do u think she'll survive? I say 3-4.
ReplyDeleteI know. Ha! You're a trip I swear.
ReplyDeleteOMG YES. Buffy<3
ReplyDeleteseason 6 was amazing imo. Definatly best since s2. and nothing about s5 was good except for the finale
ReplyDeleteComes with the package i guess.
ReplyDeleteMaybe my opinion on s5 is slightly skewed because I think the bad guy of s5 (I forget his name, the Middle Eastern-looking Traveler guy) was far and away the most beautiful man that's ever been on the show. lol
ReplyDeleteI'm great witn darla and drusilla part 2. Just so long as darla isn't killed and left in a bathtub drenched in blood and married to a serial killer ;)
ReplyDeleteI see. Well you tell your package to be nice, or I'll get some ice for it. Lol
ReplyDeleteShe will be the next Gia, I expect to live through the winter finale-
ReplyDelete?? what person? do share
ReplyDeleteI NEED SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR ON MY TV SCREEN!!!!! She needs to find a new hit tv show asap or be in another horror movie!
ReplyDeleteJulie Benz is a main cast member on the show Defiance on SyFy. I randomly caught her on TV the other night, she looked different but I recognized her.
ReplyDeleteI know ... but ... it's still who I wish was cast. ;)
ReplyDeleteBesides Juliet Landau and Sarah Michelle Gellar or Julie Benz as Nora and Mary Louise I'd cast Jasika ( Astrid - Fringe ) Nicole as Valerie, Percy ( Wallace - Veronica Mars ) Daggs III as Valerie's brother, Lance ( Broyles - Fringe ) Reddick as their father Malcolm, as the other four Heretics .
ReplyDeleteMaybe but straight men, well we love them.
ReplyDeleteThat would remind me of Willow of they did that lol. Also is Willow gay or bi?
ReplyDeleteSeven seasons and finally a lesbian couple.
ReplyDeleteStill counts. Sorta.
ReplyDeletei gave up on the vamp diaries and the originals after they decided to keep killing all the gay people they ever bothered to put on their shows, for me aiden was the last straw. the fact that in 7 years they have had a total of what 4 gay people and 3 have so far died, josh, aiden, carolines dad and then the one twin i dont even know his name cuz he only existed to further his sisters charechtor development. so the fact that in year 8 of the show they actually have the nerve to have an actual gay couple is dumb expesially after most of their "gay"fans have stopped watching lol i love how the only people who die and actually stay dead are the gay people but bonnie and jeramy can die 15 million times and keep coming back lol
ReplyDeleteWillow's gay. Once she got with Tara, that was it for her.
ReplyDeleteNo it doesn't. All they ever said was that Bill was gay. Never did he once bring up Steven, never was Steven brought up. Only in the flashback, where he wasn't brought up, but hinted at, and besides the pilot they never talked about him again. And Bill mostly tried killing/curing his daughter most of his time on screen. His background was gay but they never took it any further than that. In fact, if none of us hardcore fans remembered he was gay, no one would actually remember he was gay at all. It was a very minor detail as far as his character was concerned.
ReplyDeleteYeah but then that episode when Oz came back she was still attracted to him and still had romantic feelings for him.
ReplyDeleteI hope not, then people will compare her to Willow, who was also a gay/bi witch. No thanks.
ReplyDeleteActually she wasn't attracted to him anymore. she was actually heartbroken/confused b/c Oz WAS the love of her life. (I mean hello he took her virginity) So she didn't want to hurt him, but she wasn't sure what her and Tara were either. It was all very new to her, but she wanted Tara, that was definite even before the ending.
ReplyDeleteI believe they did in one. And that still counts. Since it exists in the universe.
ReplyDeleteThey didn't. And Minor. If it was such a big deal they would've promoted it now like they are doing with this lesbian couple. Or they would've done a better job about it, like they did with Luke. They just didn't give a crap with Bill, it was just a plot device.
ReplyDeleteStill counts. And that's not simply a plot device more a exposition device/ characterization one for Caroline in one.
ReplyDeleteShown same sex on TVD would be one thing. But first same sex couple, technically no.
ReplyDeleteHuh? Say that again?
ReplyDeleteOk, you're gonna say it counts, I'm gonna say it doesn't.
ReplyDeleteI assume one Lesbian will die till ep 3-5, the other will try to execute Revenge for the rest of the season.
ReplyDeleteMaybe. I wouldn't knock it, but it still sounds lame. I don't want that. I'd want something else. And if they do that, I hope they both die.
ReplyDeleteI'm really worried where S07 is heading, with 3 new characters seems a bit pushy. I really hope they can pull of some nice storytelling.
ReplyDeleteI'm not worried. I mean i'm actually looking forward to it. And i wouldn't think 3 characters is pushing it, i mean we know they'll die eventually. lol But they're part of the heretics, so if Lily is pushing for them as much as she has, i hope they live up to the hype and not be so disappointing.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet still exists.
ReplyDeleteIf this were the first same sex couple shown on TVD, yes they would be. (Through same universe as TO), but not the first one on the show. Also f*ck it's taken far too long for a lesbian or gay couple in general to both appear on-screen on this show.
ReplyDeleteI'm semi worried, semi excited. They set up some great stuff for S07, hopefully they go through with it and deliver some good stuff.
ReplyDeletePushy was the wrong word, maybe I'm just "overwhelmed" by this casting scoop. ;-) Do U have any clue when they start shooting?
Are these three vampires part of the uber-witch/vampire coven or different new vamps
ReplyDeletelol. threesome action? Damon will want to be there. His bonbon comes first. err, so to speak.
ReplyDeleteNot specified.
ReplyDeleteSo I can't control myself and in my head screams LEIGHTON MEESTER no matter how unlikely it is.
ReplyDeleteMichelle Trachtenberg would be a sweet choice as well. Is she still in Sleepy Hollow?
Evanna Lynch could fit either role as well.
Wouldn't mind one of my 90210 girls to get a job again!
I would love for Jillian Rose Reed to get a new role as well, but don't know if they wrapped up S05 of Awkward.
This x2
ReplyDeleteI need some new eye candy.
Alternatively I need Agents Of SHIELD to find reasons for Luke Mitchell to strip down every episode. If Glee can find a reason for Chord Overstreet to go shirtless each episode then AoS can find a reason for Luke to do it too.
Yay...New characters...I hope the keep them around and develop them rather than killing them off for shock value or worse bringing them back to life..This show really needs character development or Shonda Rhimes as the EP
ReplyDeleteSince you said lol I think you must be kidding. I hope I'm not reading you wrong since I don't want to dismiss your opinion if you're serious, or offend any ethnic group. That being said, if you are kidding I think you make a good point and it's one of the (many) things that bothered me about Season 5. The "Middle Eastern-looking Traveler guy" was named Marcos, BTW. Worst villain ever IMO. His character was one-note and had no redeeming qualities (writers' fault), and he wasn't that good of an actor so wasn't strong enough for the "villainy" to be concentrated in him. Plus on a show which has never had any male, villain or hero or just a minor character, of any color who wasn't at least fairly attractive if not outright handsome, he was neither. Casting someone ethnically diverse was a good thing plus it fit in with the exotic and mysterious background of the Travelers. But by casting what I saw as an unattractive stereotype I think they lost any points they could have scored.
ReplyDeleteYou gave me my first laugh of the day. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you, Shannon. The only time I ever remember Bill's homosexuality being mentioned was by others in the context of his having left Liz for another man, i.e. Steve. Bill never said a word about it himself and Steve never appeared. There was also that time Caroline taunted her mother by saying something like "If i need dating advice about boys I'll ask Dad". I think Bill's accepting his homosexuality and leaving Liz for a man was used to show Liz' strength of character in the face of what must have been a very traumatic experience for her. She rose above it and got on with her life. And perhaps tellingly, she never remarried. But Steve was like "Pete the truck driver", Matt's mom Kelly's sometime boyfriend. Heard of but never seen.
ReplyDeleteMhm.
ReplyDelete*Rolls Eyes*
ReplyDeleteSadly I don't. sorry. But i'm thinking possible end of this month.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Don't i know it :P
ReplyDeleteNoo. they're not talking about the whole universe in this case. They're only talking about TVD. That's the difference here. Luke was pretty likeable and he was single. Bill was just a straight let down. And as the first one on the show, they should've done something with him. And i'm telling you one of those girls are reserved for Bonnie. lmaooo. She's not getting (hasn't really gotten) any love from any guy ever, she sure as hell isn't getting with Damon, i wouldn't be surprised one bit if they turned her into a lesbian. Actually it would probably make a lot of sense. hahaha...no but seriously, it never bothered me that they didn't bring in a gay couple or lesbian couple. I mean I never thought about, so i didn't care, but hell if youre gonna bring them in as characters, do it right. But they did the whole threesome thing with Sage, Damon, Rebekah, Rebekah, Matt, Nadia. So that was good enough.
ReplyDeleteNo, I was serious. He was beautiful, and IMO the most attractive guy from TVD thus far. :)
ReplyDeleteOK, I did read you wrong. No offense meant, just stating my opinion. I'm glad you found him beautiful. Hope we're cool.
ReplyDeleteyay lesbians vampires
ReplyDeletebloody hell Damon going back to S1 & S2 bad /funny? OMG don't know how I feel... On one hand good because it's funny but on the other hand he will lose all he achievied till now being a good vampire and he'll disgrace the memory of Elena and he'll forget her love, WT**???
ReplyDeleteI meant it was enough for me. And like i said Bill was a let down the rest were not. Look, i'm a straight woman, i really don't think about if they get two same sexes together or not, but if they're going to, then portray them right, which they failed to do with Bill. And i disagree with the "lack of lgbt portayal in so much media." This conversation does not have to do with the enitre media it's about this one show, and quite frankly, this entire series is based off the novels, and as much as they dont follow canon, a lot of times they do, (just not in order) Ive read all the books and theres not one gay/les/bi person in them, so with that said, i'm surprised with what they did with these characters anyway. They did it b/c they wanted to. And you do know Kevin Williamson is gay right?? If he doesn't have a huge problem with it, then i don't see it as a lack of anything (except on bill's part as the first gay character), Idt that has to generalize with "so much media", and after the law that just passed, id say otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI was just pointing out that seven years is a long time to get one on screen. Was it criticism yeah, but I'm not condemning them for it. And in regards to scripted TV they are still relatively small in depiction.
ReplyDeleteGotcha babe.
ReplyDeleteI'm out right now. But dammit do I have to get out of here!! My friends are keeping me here.
ReplyDeleteShould I call Liam Neeson, or someone badass?
ReplyDeleteWhen Oz and Willow met again in the comics (i'm in the process of reading them) it seems like they are still confusing feelings between them but they reached the friends-stage.
ReplyDeleteBut I still think Willow could be bi. Maybe I'll find out when I continue reading.
I don't read the comics anymore. But i do know some things about them, and i never read that, so that may be new. But the comics is definitely not the tv series. ex: Buffy in the comics (idk how far you read) some things, lots of things, she would definitely not do.
ReplyDeleteJason Statham. = D.....(got in at 3:05 it's now 3:38am, g2sleep have to be up at 6am) Ttyl.
ReplyDeleteNight.
ReplyDeleteI knew you would. :D
ReplyDelete; )
ReplyDeleteI love the friendliness here. You're welcome! :)
ReplyDeleteShannon.
ReplyDeleteCan't we just talk here. Alright.
ReplyDelete
