ReplyDeleteHopefully the recurring status allows Lily and the Heretics ( sounds like a Goth band doesn't it ) to leave Mystic Falls behind come mid-season for New Orleans to stir up some trouble for Klaus, Elijah, and Freya in season three of The Originals.

ReplyDeletePersonally I think Lily is a fascinating character because she IS screwed up - if not insane - and she should provide a lot of drama next season when she butts heads with her sons. I don't think we've seen half of how bad she can be. And I always imagined Stefan and Damon had such a lovely mother! It seemed only fair because they had such a horrible father. But I remember Damon saying to her, "So nothing's changed. I screw up and you punish me." That made her sound like Mommy Dearest. Yet he also told Elena that both he and Stefan were tied to her apron strings, and that she was their whole world. So it sounds like we've got some unresolved mommy issues.
As for Annie Wersching, I think she's a terrific actress. She makes Lily pathetic at times, aggressive and arrogant at other times, and sometimes downright scary. I wish Season 7 weren't still so far away.
TO have enough problems/threats to deal with as it is.As much as i would tolike see your idea coming to fruition,i don't see it happening ever unfortunately.We'll see.

ReplyDeleteThat was my hope too, but if they start a new love triangle I'm so out. Plus Damon will still be there and I don't like him. I did like the look of what was going on in that short scene we saw in the S6 finale though.

ReplyDeleteI don't see Caroline going for Enzo as a "fill-in" while she's supposedly in love with Stefan, and needs time to heal before pursuing the relationship Stefan said he's willing to wait for.
ReplyDeleteElena was in love with Stefan once upon a time as well. They could easily just have Stefan do something Caroline isn't happy with and have Enzo be the shoulder she runs to.
ReplyDeleteI understand. And often high expectations result in disappointment. I prefer to say I'm "hopeful" Season 7 will be a good one! I think it's OK to have low expectations, because sometimes you're really surprised and happy with what happens. But you won't know unless you stick with the show!

ReplyDeleteI'll know from the premiere or first few episodes at least where the show is going so I'll judge from there. After all I had dropped the show in season 4 but jumped right into season 6 when I saw gifs of Kai on tumblr and Loved what I was seeing. Hopefully the heretics will make good villains and outweigh anything I might not like about the season.

ReplyDeleteI loved Delena but I'm willing to admit that "ship" probably sailed as far as it could without sinking. As far as I'm concerned Damon got the girl, so I'm happy. I am convinced that it's Elena's absence (sorry Elena fans) that will be a shot in the arm for Season 7. Oh, the places we could go!

ReplyDeleteThe one sure thing is that if it bombs I doubt Chris would be out of work for long. I think he's the most exciting up and coming young actor out there right now. I did a little research: he's 6' tall, turned 27 this past April, completed an MFA degree in 2010, and the kicker is that his major was Musical Theater! The guy can sing too! He was absolutely charming and a big hit at the recent TVD/TO Con in Barcelona. He smiled a lot and he has a wonderful smile when he's being himself and not Kai. And with or without the facial hair he's yummy. I feel like I'm being unfaithful to Ian!

I agreed, temporary only. She will be used to tear the brothers apart-only so they can get back together closer than ever. And to regain some of damons humanity... He will probably start off the season in a dark place with less humanity, toying with killing his own mother but then not killing her will help his humanity. Finally, as a way to bring the real big bad to mf, maybe one of the creepy gang, but my guess is someone totally new… My guess, stefan will kill his mother to somehow save damon.'

The fact that it was all about Damon in the past seasons is mostly due to the "Elena Gilbert's current boyfriend" position. Which is a an important position on TVD apparently....whoever has that title is THE protagonist by default...But now that Elena's gone, and Steroline is the new power couple, i'm guessing Steffy is gonna have his main role back...Though I don't think Damon will be ignored in the way Stefan was.

ReplyDeleteAfter Season 6 there's no doubt how much Stefan loves and NEEDS Damon. It's why he pushed Damon to complete his transition. But I've said before that I think only Damon would have the b**** to kill his mother, and only if Stefan's life were at stake. You suggest an interesting twist. If Stefan puts his big boy pants on next season...wow. Just wow.
I get your logic, Sara. The writers haven't been kind to Stefan recently and I'd be happy to see him play a bigger role, but not because of Steroline. I don't think his only value is in being the boyfriend of the hour, Elena's or Caroline's. That's like saying we women are defined only by the man in our lives. IMO Damon stood out before he was Elena's boyfriend and I think he will stand out without her. I admit I'm prejudiced but Damon is...well, he's Damon. I'd like to see a lot more of the two brothers together, playing off each other. I'd like that more than another romance!
ReplyDeleteI've always been a damon fan first. But I've always said stefan is capable of so much more both as a character and an actor, he's just never been given a chance to shine. His character has always dependened on other peoples storylines-elena, damon, Katherine, now caroline. Damon is usually The one given the big hero moments, I guess because in Jp's mind he's the brother that has the most to prove and overcome. what if all of the sudden stefan is the big hero, he's left to make the biggest sacrifices? Would it even out the fan base a little more, now that the shipper wars are over? Couid stefan finally be given the respect he (some of the time) deserves?
ReplyDeleteI think Sarah, and therefore Tristin, has disappeared and will stay disappeared. There would have to be a whole other story line to include her and it doesn't look like that's the way things are headed. Like, Stefan's hiding her and not telling Damon. But where do you go from there? She had nothing to do with anyone except Enzo, and they dropped that like a hot potato. Truthfully, I don't think there was too much they could do with her.

I don't think she will redeem herself. She hasn't been made a regular because she's not going to make it past mid-season, according to one of our knowledgeable commenters who's usually right!

ReplyDeleteSometimes a twist is so predictable,everyone thinks it'll never happen.So,when it ends up happening in reality,it's unpredictable.In season 4,when I said Kol would die no matter what,everyone said it's pretty predictable coz they needed that map completed on Jeremy's tattoo.Guess what-He DID die.Same thing will happen here.If she'll die by one of her sons is not the question here,the real question is who kills her-Damon or Stefan.I'll stand by this theory until i find a solid reason otherwise.
