While not as good as the French version, I dont consider the show to be pointless. For one thing, a lot of Americans believed Resurrection to be an adaptation of the Returned. Also the vast majority of these American "remakes" should probably be considered adaptations since even if season 1 closely follows the original foreign series, the shows end up becoming their own thing by season 2.
I had high expectations for this, but in the end it was just as boring as Resurrection. Too bad, since i love many actors that were included in this. But i am not disappointed at all, i had problems to finish S1
I don't know why they didn't give this another shot with another series, I thought this would happen bc of Damien (which I admit, interests me a LOT more) but I was hoping it would get another chamcem
I dont know why A&E does not try for year round programming instead of airing two scripted show together. Make Monday at 10pm the slot for original scripted programming, 10 episodes of Bates, 10 of Damien, 13 for Unforgettable. There was this article at THR where someone who worked at A&E talked about allowing the writers to tell stories beyond 43 mins of running time, maybe even as long as 60 mins per episode, and that would be easier to do if they only aired one scripted series on Monday instead of airing shows back to back.
Not a surprise. The Returned was a critical and commercial bomb of an unnecessary adaptation of a successful French format. Not to mention, it was truly awful.
Maybe this will finally teach producers a lesson. But probably not...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Duh and good news. Pathetic remake to the original.
ReplyDeleteThat sucks :( Now I don't even want to watch the last two episodes...
ReplyDeleteSaw this coming when Damien was moved to A&E.
ReplyDeleteToo bad, but not surprising. Maybe A & E will have better luck with Damion and I am quite interested to see if Let The Right One In will move forward.
ReplyDeleteGreat cast but a mediocre show. Even if it had better ratings A&E still would have canceled it anyway due to the show's lack of "buzz."

ReplyDeleteI like the show but the finale had a flat feeling.
ReplyDeleteGlad I didn't go any further after watching the pilot.
ReplyDeleteWe still have the original one coming for its second season :)

ReplyDeleteThank God, can't wait.
ReplyDeleteThis sucks.. it was miles better than resurrection.. oh well :/
ReplyDeleteNo :(
ReplyDeleteDamn. I knew it with Claire Holt being cast in Fear The Walking Dead. The series was really good.

ReplyDeleteSandrine Holt.
ReplyDeleteWhy not? It's on Netflix
ReplyDeleteTHAT ONE! lol
ReplyDeleteWell, great ¬_¬
ReplyDeleteThank you A&E.
Too bad, I kinda liked it. Didn't beat the original but it wasn't bad for a remake.
ReplyDeleteReally I actually like this show just when get into a show they cancel it
ReplyDeleteReally???
ReplyDeleteWatched the firsts 2 episodes and I didn't like it, it was really boring. Les Revenants is so much better than this.
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm not exactly sorry to see this go, I feel bad for Joanne Kelly/Myka Bering. She just got on the show, and now it's canceled.
ReplyDeleteNot surprised.
ReplyDeleteYes

HAS cancelled
ReplyDeleteNo. :(
ReplyDeleteIt was actually quite good for a remake.
ReplyDeleteAnd not all French shows are original themselves. They made a remake of L&O: Criminal Intent called Paris Enquêtes Criminelles.
Of course other nations make remakes of US shows as well.
ReplyDeleteThe original has it's own issues that it will hopfully work out.
ReplyDeleteThe first two episodes where about the same in both versions.
ReplyDeletedisappointing news as I liked the show....
