I really liked her :( She was like a mother figure for The Messengers imo. But imagine this episode actually ending with Rose joining Richards and Schiller on the coach. :)
And it did start when the guy first shot her... it looked more like a defiant move rather than spiteful or vengeful. His choice of rhyme alone was suspicious.
Then there was that moment where even though we knew she knew what the devil looked like when she saw him at the funeral in the second episode and all the others were there she didn't say "Hey! There's the Devil" but waited a loooooong time to share the information. Then it was the way she refused to let people in and tried to control how the operations were gonna go down...
She took on the leader role but there was something in her demeanor that I just couldn't trust from the get go.
This twist around Rose seems to obvious. I assume she is held captive but who knows, maybe she can be both. Truth to be told didn't miss her in last nights episode.
Yeah but I assumed her cockiness towards him came from her time in limbo/while she was in a coma. Again I don't think she is a horseman maybe a different angel of hell. Cause she couldn't fake those blue wings.
I didn't suspect anything. I did think it was stupid that she didn't try to take a picture of the devil or at least tell the others how he looked like. I thought the reason was bad writing.
For a while I wasn't sure if my mistrust of her wasn't due to bad writing and bad acting and I was just projecting that onto all those instances looking for explainations, but in retrospect it makes sense...
I'm going to hold off on judgement with Rose, 'cause she had more chance than most to destroy the group within. Instead she brought them together. Missed her so much, she's the momma bear.
That Rose is a Horseman creates more issues with the writing and story line than it solves or enhances. There are a few inconsistencies that make the Rose as Horseman "twist" implausible.
1. The Horsemans of Pestilence and War tell the Man that they have outgrown him and they are prepared to move forward without him because he has become obsolete. Why were they working with him anyway if Rose has united them to work together and shown them how strong they could be without him and why would killing her be the best way to blunt her power?
2. Rose works hard to thwart Pestilence from breaking the seal for what reason? What could she possibly have stood to gain by working with Vera and her friend to fry the network? If she was a real Horseman she would have complicated things such that the computer countdown could not have been stopped.
3. To leverage Vera to her side she would only need to reveal the location of her son. Vera has already made it clear that she would do anything to see her son again, why not use that as a way of getting Vera to turn.
4. Why is the healer the only messenger to suffer the residual effects of her gifts? Nobody else seems to be affected by their disunity.
5. Rose tells the Man that he cannot stop them because they are more powerful than he is. Who is 'they' then? She cannot mean herself and the other Horseman because he tells the other two that he is their god and he was nearly able to kill Rose with just a couple of bullets. It could only be the messengers.
7. Leland decides to plead with Rose and tells her that she can fight it because he knows there is good in her. If the Horseman break their seal and therefore can never be redeemed then why would the writers add that?
None of the things that Rose has done so far point to sabotage. If she is a Horseman and there is no other twist then this is one of the weakest plot twists I have seen in quite sometime, and I lived through the horror of Sera Gamble as the lead runner on the best CW show of all time - Supernatural.

Rose is a FREAKING Horseman?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBest new show on CW.
ReplyDeleteI'd say Flash and iZombie curb stomp this.
ReplyDeleteHuh cool twist.
ReplyDeleteYeah... had a feeling something as off with Rose...
ReplyDeleteLove it, but why would they reveal it in a trailer? :/
ReplyDeleteWas it the way she was with the Devil? I know it was for me, they looked like old drinking buddies instead of people who just met.
ReplyDeleteTrue that LOL, i'm glad it's her because i never really liked her.
ReplyDeleteI really liked her :( She was like a mother figure for The Messengers imo. But imagine this episode actually ending with Rose joining Richards and Schiller on the coach. :)
ReplyDeleteThat was part of it.
ReplyDeleteBut it has been an accumulation of things.

No idea why they revealed that in the trailer, it spoils half of the episode
ReplyDeleteYeah but I assumed her cockiness towards him came from her time in limbo/while she was in a coma.
ReplyDeleteAgain I don't think she is a horseman maybe a different angel of hell. Cause she couldn't fake those blue wings.
She's not the first Angel i've seen fake her wings on a TV show before. On Constantine a Fallen Angel made her wing look like they were good.
ReplyDeleteSo it's not a fakeout?
ReplyDeleteI didn't suspect anything. I did think it was stupid that she didn't try to take a picture of the devil or at least tell the others how he looked like. I thought the reason was bad writing.

ReplyDeleteI was half expecting her to show up in that meeting in the end...
ReplyDelete(and I'm also pretty sure she was the one who bailed Schiller out now...)
Btw the show score 0,3 and 0,92 viwers for last nights episode.
ReplyDeleteWow the Devil messes with the lights? that's new, RAUL AND ERIN BETTER STILL BE BOYFRIEND AND GIRLFRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like that snake sound effect they always put when the Devil appears
ReplyDeleteI'm going to hold off on judgement with Rose, 'cause she had more chance than most to destroy the group within. Instead she brought them together. Missed her so much, she's the momma bear.
