TVLine has learned that for Season 2, the CW hit is casting the major recurring role of Wendy, a “spunky, fun and funny” romantic interest for one Barry Allen.
A cop for the Central City PD, Wendy is described as bright and scientific-minded — more specifically, “Think ‘Felicity Smoak’ from Arrow,” the casting call reads.

hmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteOh crap.
ReplyDeleteI need a zipped lip emoticon.
ReplyDeleteYes, don't really like Iris
ReplyDeleteAlready liking her more than Iris. lol
ReplyDeleteJust kidding of course.
Really isn't what I expected from tje first casting call of the season. I assume she is a meta as well. Can't wait what she is hiding in her closet.
So I guess Biris (awful shipper name, BTW) is not happening anytime soon. Not that I care, really, since I am not much of a shipper.
ReplyDeleteSoooo....love square here we come -,-
ReplyDeleteThe shippers prefer WestAllen. Yeah don't see them happening till season end at least.
ReplyDeleteOh god no
ReplyDeleteWestAllen? That's quite creative! /sarcasm
ReplyDeleteSquare? Who's the 4th?
ReplyDeleteAnd the marginalization of Iris continues.
ReplyDeleteBetter than Biris.
ReplyDeleteLove square? Is Ghost Eddie the fourth point, because that sounds kinda awesome. I'd love a Ghost Eddie/Iris love story. More interesting than the original.
ReplyDeleteYeah top notch!
ReplyDeleteI honestly prefer SnowBarry, but ain't gonna happen.
So I'll let better comic fanatics, find out for which DC character Wendy is the codename.
ReplyDeleteBoth taken.
ReplyDeleteI would suggest Indiana Jones S&L
Let's place some bets on how long it will take Iris to sabotage this relationship.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Patty Spivot, blood expert for the Central City PD.
ReplyDeletehttp://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Patty_Spivot_(Prime_Earth)
Iris West from another universe with speed force powers. Just kidding
ReplyDeletePatty Spivot, blood expert for the Central City PD
ReplyDeleteBarry-Iris-Caitlin-new chick
ReplyDeleteUnless it is a romance drama, I do not care about "love-triangles" at all!!!!!!! I hate them to be honest
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to write under Ur comment saying U nailed it.
ReplyDeleteNice one. Yeah not really happy that thry went for a love interest casting. Especially at this stage.
RME
ReplyDeleteHayley Smoak, Felicitys equally quirky, cookie cutter, lovable sister
ReplyDeleteIs Guggenheim now writing for the Flash?
ReplyDeleteHopefully they'll follow the comics and they'll be friends for a few years with teases/obvious signs of attraction till they take the plunge. They put their work first above the romance.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Arrow have a detective girlfriend as well? McKenna was her name and she got shot by the Huntress.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like The Flash follows the same trajectory as Arrow does. Killing off the love triangle in the season 1 finale and then introduce another love interest to keep the couple apart. Well, as long as The Flash doesn't follow the trajectory of Arrow's quality, I'll be fine. That also means: don't make this show about the shipping!!
This sounds more like Julie Plec to me.
ReplyDelete"Lets give them more shipper drama, people don't want action or mythology!"
im sure she would not jump right after Eddie either.
ReplyDeleteArrow season 3 had more ship drama than TO season 2 did. So I'd say it's Marks specialty to write for shippers.
ReplyDeleteDon't give them ideas!
ReplyDeleteI love Felicity, but we already have one of her. This seems ... redundant.
ReplyDeleteThese writers are good at a lot of things. Figuring out what to do with their main relationships does not appear to be one of them. I mean, Iris is the new Laurel (although I like her better than original Laurel, to be fair), Eddie literally just got Tommy'd in the finale, and now, with Caitlin married to Ronnie and unable to be the new Felicity, at least for the foreseeable future, they've imported another one. Can we try something new, please?
So Caitlin doesn't even know she is a part of a love square?
ReplyDeleteUgh I want him and Iris together
ReplyDeleteThank you! I totally agree with you! I hate love triangles. They completely ruin shows. If i were to write a show, love triangles would be the least important
ReplyDeletemhhhhhh I smell the Laurel hate starting again
ReplyDeleteFans do
ReplyDeleteyeh, they do ruin a lot of shows.
ReplyDeleteArrow for example
ReplyDeleteNew idea: Oliver and Barry should just hook up!
ReplyDeleteHopefully. I mean it is nice for them to expand Barry's world a bit.
ReplyDeleteCasting suggestion Carba Heine
theCW, ships to talk about
ReplyDeleteIs this character really necessary?Didn't we just get rid of Linda?
ReplyDeleteI'd prefer see Patty Spivot than some new character. she's Barry's love interest/current girlfriend in the current comics.
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOOOOOO! The actual Felicity was annoying enough this year now we are having a Flash clone of her. Please just don't.
ReplyDeleteLOL! They are both good looking at least ;)
ReplyDeleteWell Grant is cute and stephen is hot
I approve.LOL!
ReplyDeleteI really don't care as long as we're not forcefed another Olicity
ReplyDeleteNot the 100. We do ship someone but that is not their Main Focus
ReplyDeleteTotally agree
ReplyDeleteI don't care, ships are a big part of every CW show. Ironically the one show predestined for ships due to it's mother show being ship centric is the least shipp-y show.
ReplyDeleteHell, SPN and TO are the only shows I still respect on that aspect
Isn't it technically a pentagon?
ReplyDeleteThe Barry/Felicity drama isn't over yet since it's going to come up in Vixen.
Barry - Iris - Caitlin - New Girl/Patty Spivot - Felicity
Soooo are we going with WARRY or BENDY ? ;)
ReplyDeleteFelicity is going to be in Vixen?
ReplyDeleteOliver is meant to learn about the Barry/Felicity kiss during Vixen. Bringing up that drama again.
ReplyDeleteI have no Laurel hate. I just think they wrote Iris better in her first season than they wrote Laurel in hers. I liked Laurel this last season, but I didn't much like her in season one, and while I didn't fall in love with Iris, I think she's fine. Just expressing an opinion.
ReplyDeleteBarry/Captain Cold please
ReplyDeleteThey have more chemistry then most other couples do on the entire CW network.
I'm pretty sure this is Patty, they're just casting under a secret name.
ReplyDeleteUm, Bendy please! That's awesome.
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOo
ReplyDeletehttp://99gifs.com/-img/51767cbeafa96f0994021db4.gif?w=800&h=333
They really do.
ReplyDeleteWe are talking about Wendy and Barry not Iris and Barry.
ReplyDeleteI agree with that but SPN has shippers that rival the most hashtag loving ones. I can't even go to SPN boards anymore without losing my mind. I haven't watched TO since S
ReplyDelete^^
ReplyDeleteYeah, the fans are but the show doesen't cater to them unlike a certain other show shot in the same area, starring another canadian actor usually wearing green pants
ReplyDeleteI'm still hoping for Caitlin having a sister played by her real life sister Kay Panabaker so Wendy could be her.
ReplyDeleteHaha, so true. As much as I can't stand the current writing team, they catch absolute hell from these shippers for not giving them what they want. I almost feel sorry for them.
ReplyDeleteImagine Guggenheim if he did the same, if he didn't give shippers what they want he'd be dead already
ReplyDeleteI think he'd be lynched at SDCC. I look forward to Jason Rothenberg's answers to all the ship questions I know is coming. I'm going to need popcorn and chocolate.
ReplyDelete..... And so it begins.
ReplyDeleteLe sigh.
I'm not going to watch any panel but the ones for shows I actually watch. And even there I'll forward through the ship questions, at this point it's so damn aggrevating to see shippers take over every show and you being turned into the "bad guy" for pointing it out
ReplyDeleteIt pisses me off. If you don't agree, you're a hater, baiter or you just don't know good TV. WTFE. The sense entitlement and harassment piss me off the most.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my life in every Arrow-thread
ReplyDeleteIt's why I rarely come to those threads. I used to love to but I don't need the headache. I watch the promo's though.
ReplyDeleteYou're way more consequent than me, guess I can't help myself
ReplyDeletebut hey, I'm a hater right?
I can't remember ever watching a show where a love triangle did any good. The Flash already had one this past season but luckily there wasn't too much focus on it so for me it was acceptable. A new one feels unoriginal and redundant since we already know Barry and Iris will end up together.
ReplyDeleteExactly!
ReplyDeleteOh this romance will go well. It's doomed.
ReplyDeleteBoo
ReplyDeleteDude it's probably Patty Spivot.
ReplyDeleteIris season 1> Laurel season 1. Not hate, just my personal opinion as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat the cramp is vixen? Haha. Is this another spinoff that I've missed?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Wendy 'exists'/is in Barry's life due to the Singularity opening a door to other universes.
ReplyDeleteAlso I wonder if when we return Barry will be without Super powers ( handcuffed Barry ) and the future Flash or Wally/Bart/Jay will be doing he Super Hero ... ing.
An all new animated series airing this fall on theCWSeed. Oliver, Barry and Laurel are going to show up and apparently also Felicity now
ReplyDeletemhm
ReplyDelete))
ReplyDeleteIt's an animated show coming to CW Seed set in the CW Universe.
ReplyDeletePlease not an other one, after Iris, Caitlin and now Wendy (hello Barry is not the only man of Central City) I'm really getting sick of this, I love the show but there's too much romance and I think they're going in the same direction as Arrow.
ReplyDeleteI would much rather they'd kept Malese Jow around for longer, she's an instantly lovable actress dating back to her short lived romance with Jeremy on The Vampire Diaries. Instead of introducing a female cop, why don't they play on the storyline relating to that from the past season with Iris?
ReplyDeleteNope. Oliver's saving himself for Malcolm. Plus not breaking any ground here Mac. Common innovate with these: Cisco/ Oliver, Felicity/Caitlin (that'd be hot), Ronnie and Eobard. Be bold.
ReplyDeleteYeah I don't have anything to say about this.
ReplyDeleteToday really sucks both in real life and TV land.
I'm intrigued if someone else will appear this early on (2-3-4 episodes) besides some random metas.
ReplyDeleteAnd come on the Arrow calls need to come in soon. *_* Can't wait!!!
I think you're f*cked Mac. But given my knowledge of how tV shows do this and the apparent less angst next year, it should be more tolerable for you.
ReplyDeleteKoky, you got the comics and the in-universe future on your side. It'll be fine.
ReplyDeleteEverything okay sweetie? Who annpyed U? Do I need to change out of my "pijamas" and kick some a*s?
ReplyDeleteThat's really pushing it Mac. And kinda no wait it's bullshit.
ReplyDeleteI'm not worried about Westallen. Seriously I'm not. The line “Think ‘Felicity Smoak’ from Arrow," annoyed me. I hate comparing characters. There is only one Felicity Smoak. They are dooming that poor girl She now has to measure up to Felicity and battle the Snowbarry/Westallen shippers. Like we needed more shipping war. Just ugh.
ReplyDeleteHey I liked Linda. Plus if Wally enters she'll be back at somepoint.
ReplyDeleteI'll believe it when I see it
ReplyDeleteArrow season 4 is probably going to be as dull as 3 given the writers only getting praise for their ship-shipidiy-ship-ship-shit.
Yep, Graydon. It's bullsh*t. Toooootally bullshit.
ReplyDeleteNot like opinions of others matter, how dare me say something against Guggenheims ship-fan boner
You actually made me smile and I'm in the worst mood possible. That was really sweet of you. Don't worry just some real life drama (the news that there won't be an Arrow panel definitely didn't help either). Thanks, that really meant a lot to me :D
ReplyDeleteI loved Linda.
ReplyDeleteEspecially since the writers haven't given Felicity the storyline and evolution she deserves yet.
ReplyDeleteIt's a 3 hour panel for all 3 shows I guess. I'm pretty sure Grant, Emily and Stephen are going to be featured heavily
ReplyDeleteFirst shut up. Second Kol/Davina, Hayley/Jackson, Hayley and Elijah oh and an entire main story arc around Hayley and Jackson's wedding with huge consequences so yes bullshit. Arrow didn't do that.
ReplyDeleteI liked her too but she had to go eventually, sooner or later.
ReplyDeleteI love watching the Arrow cast interact together. Their panels are always fun. But that is going to be a huge mess.
ReplyDeleteNothing to thank me for. *hug* I understand real life drama issues, just remember it always can be worse or if it's that worse it can only go upwards from there.
ReplyDeleteDC won't do individual panels at CC (not even the star childs will have them) they wanna cram everything together so the fans would "overlap" and create positive buzz. Really don't think that is a good solution, but I'm sure part of the cast will do a Q&A with TvLine like the last 2 years, so we'll have that.
Poor Graydon, did anyone spit in your milk today ;)
ReplyDeleteKol died mid-season. Sure they were romantic but not even mildly as heavily a focus as Olicity this season. Hayley/Jackson I agree though. They were annoying but not as populary featured as Olicity. Especially since Jackson was only in 9 episodes this season
Unlike Oliver and Felicity, who both got screentime gallore this year.
And wowza, it's really easy to tickle your jammies when talking about ships you like (or at least don't mind. You get more defensive than some shippers though so I'll say you enjoy them)
I'm still waiting for some on-set stories but frankly I think it'll be more contorlled than you think.
ReplyDeleteLike..heroes first, then the villains followed by the sidekicks
She needs a big arc dedicated only to her that's not about promoting new superheroes and they need to show more about her past. But in terms of evaluations Felicity grew a lot.
ReplyDeleteOne that doesn't paint her as a love-focused character less shell of a character that only cracks jokes to serve as "her character".
ReplyDeleteI'm incredibly pissed that ALL her arcs are based on a crush she has on a random superhero...ships ruin Felicity
Are you five? That still doesn't discount that story wise and screen time overall it had a greater impact. Oilcity didn't impact the main story, nor characterize solely those two characters like say Kol's death drove Davina entirely in the second half. It's not the ship, it's your condescension to me and a show I enjoy. That and you're just as much of a dick to those who disagree with you as the shippers you hate.
ReplyDeleteRight. Sure.
ReplyDeleteI disagree Olicity was given a massive ammount of impact, screentime and even relevance. Relevance several arcs should have had but didn't. Hell, various villains were treated as sidearcs to benefit that romantic arc hovering over our heads like a f***ng sword.
ReplyDeleteDude, I'm not condecending, you're the one that throws around terms like bullshit and orders others to shut up when you get mad.
I'm used to talking with people that like to ship, however NONE of them react to my criticisms of their ships as allergic as you do. Wich is why I assume that you're quite fond of them. And know what? That's perfectly okay. But don't expect me to shut up about a storyline that, I feel, took a GIANT bite out of a show to me.
The fact that you're the one that runs around actually insulting people but pointing fingers afterwards is a bit childish.
Not only romantic stories. She was also used to promote Laurel. She was so OOC. Are we really supposed to believe that Felicity who was very close to Sara would say that Sara never had a light inside of her? The compassionate Felicity who always says the truth no matter what, who confronted Moira about Malcolm being Thea's father and told Oliver even though she was terrified she might lose him, would lie and deceive Lance that much?
ReplyDelete"remember it always can be worse or if it's that worse it can only go upwards from there." that is really a great way to look at things. I'll keep it in mind.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to be optimistic but the whole thing looks so messy and one possible mistake can ruin everything.
At least we will have some spoilers about upcoming episodes and a general idea about how the season is going to go. Even if we don't get a promo.
It needs to be unbelievably planned out or the whole thing could crumble and backfire.
ReplyDeleteThat would be great I hope you are right. If not I would be a little disappointed, just a little, until season two begins, because season one was awesome, a lot of rights almost no wrongs IMO.
ReplyDeleteYes there is only one character who can't do anything but cry and hack a computer so yes there is only one Felicity Smoak
ReplyDeleteI'll go step by step. I assume the casting calls will come till Saturday and the casting news in the next 2 weeks. That will be enough for now.
ReplyDeleteHonestly after Sara's death last year I don't trust them a woed they are going to say till stufd either leak or air.
Well drinking and popping pills while blaming others were already taken so what can they do?
ReplyDeletePromote Laurel? In fact she was the polar opposite, barely interacting with her and pretty much replacing her as the female lead.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing she did do was promote Laurel to her fanbase, wich is the most vocal one against the Laurel character, to kill the twitter and social media hate.
But that's not exclusive to Laurel. Felicity did that with Sara as well.
The simple fact that her "liking" someone on the show to calm down her fanbase is a bit sad but I digress....
I might be in the minority here but where Moira was concerned Felicity was absolutely in the wrong, it was never her place to tell Oliver or pretty much blackmail Moira. I get it, good intentions and all but in some way Felicity is rather intrusive.
It might actually have been better if Thea and Oliver never found out about Malcolm. In the long run, if Malcolm would never have returned (wich I wouldn't condone but let's just roll with this) and Moira wouldn't have died keeping this a secret might have protected Thea and Oliver from a lot of heartache.
All I'm saying is...Felicity isn't perfect. In fact, at times, she's a bit of a bitch (with wifi). Wich is said in the most positive way but many of her actions kind of irk me recently, not only in season 3 but also 2. What makes me mad however is the way the show never portrays any of her decisions as wrong but puts her on moral highground. Making the character lose all edge. Only if you make mistakes you grow. She hasn't got that chance yet
IMO Felicity is used by the writers as a character-less quirky sidekick to crack a joke or two and serve the ship-fanbase.
Wich is pretty unfair towards Emily and the characters creator because one thing is very true: she was great in season 1 and had a lot of potential. But she has been stuck on one point for three seasons now. We had Malcolm, a character who was only recurring in season 1-2, go through more character evolution than her wich is unfair.
I want Felicity to have a storyline not involving her "undying devotion" to Oliver, something that treats her characterl like an individual, not someone rotating around a guy.
Felicitys arcs have been non-existant (except the Brother Eye episode wich was god awful) and I want that to change.
I know I'm alone with my heavy criticism against her character but know that I want her to become more relevant in the bigger scheme and not serve as bait for viewers.
But I guess the writers are afraid of giving her more edge, as the way she is right now she's attracting viewers :(
#aplot4Felicity
Weather we get spoilers or not, I was looking forward to watch the whole cast interact together.
ReplyDeleteThat is a REALLY long comment. I'm gonna need a summary.
ReplyDeleteProbably, I remember a picture from this season where they all set behind each other. Must've been a mess.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I remember some actors are great at panels while others rather stay quiet. Going to be hard to organize given never knowing who will have how much exposure.
That being said I would kind of love to see actors interact we wouldn't otherwise see interact on screen. Like Cavanagh and Blackthorne
Seriously...if they pull this Olicity crap into Flash imma be ticked...
ReplyDelete"That being said I would kind of love to see actors interact we wouldn't otherwise see interact on screen. Like Cavanagh and Blackthorne" I would like that.
ReplyDeletelong story short: I felt that Felicity never got a plot because her easy going attitude is making it easy for a few fans to like her. Something the producers don't want to undo. But I feel that a plot to give her some edge would be benefiting fans like me that are bothered, if not annoyed, with her lackluster writing in the past.
ReplyDeleteI WANT to love Felicity again, I couldn't in the past two years though
Maybe actually make her a character who isn't only used for comic relief or to please the shippers .
ReplyDeleteDR said that next season's big bad is going to be HIVE and it's connected to Andy's death and Felicity's father. I'm really optimistic. The theories that DD is her father are becoming more plausible.
ReplyDeleteExcept they weren't, Brick wasn't, Ra's wasn't, Only Cupid had any actual tie to their romance. Condescension. You've mocked my milk for being spilled, called me a third year old, compared me to a tumblr crazy shipper. It's not about my ship (which I don't ship- whatever you won't believe me anyone), it's about your condescension and tendency to always start flame wars and weird tendency to almost imply that every problem with this show is due to one relationship, and that somehow this show has become nothing more than Olicity featuring Arrow. Not only because do I think that's ignoring other flaws or problems, not properly attributing problems or blame, and quite honestly I legitimately believe that this show is nothing like that (dude that is my biggest fear ever for Arrow to have it become that- it TERRIFIES me), and that yeah can shippers be a huge pain in the ass but attacking them in such a generalizing way is unnecessary and whatever Arrow's faults may be it's not just shipper related crap. There's been enough blood on both sides between shippers and non-shippers and I'm sick of it. And I feel you only create my problems for that. I'm sick of fandom wars and bullshit. And dude I only insult here after I've been insulted.
ReplyDeleteYeah comic relief that's why you are complaining that she cries a lot. And yeah the Olicity shippers were over the moon this season especially when she dated Ray despite how much a lot of people, not only Olicity shippers, were against that story.
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda hoping for more frequent crossovers in a smaller dose.
ReplyDeleteLike have Cisco show up randomly in Star City or Malcolm/Nyssa doing some League business in Central City as side villains.
B plots usually could serve a show well especially since not every actor is needed for every single episode (especially Blackthorne, Barrowman, and Holland missed a lot of episodes last season).
I could see Iris show up in Star City to interview the new mayor on his "No more may destruction in '16" campaign ;)
Oh f*ck no. Seriously nothing would piss me off more. Well unless they made Bart not Barry's grandkid like in the New 52.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want her dad to be an immortal bad guy though, too cliché. Let's go with her dad being Darkhs tech associate with moral doubts about his quest and is eventually turned around by his daughter?
ReplyDeleteEvery time a parent is special the characters arc either takes a dive (Nyssa) or makes her better (Thea). A 50:50 shot is not enough for me
I like crossovers a lot but I don't want them to be a frequent thing. They didn't work in the second half of the seasons and not just because they don't make sense timeline wise. The characters themselves were weird and it was stupid beyond belief that Laurel got the canary cry device (regardless of weather or not I liked it) on the Flash and they didn't even explain it on Arrow.
ReplyDeleteIn Arrow 3x23 people were going to die by a bioweapon and the team was facing the LoA and Barry didn't help because he left to have a chat with a man already locked up! Really? That talk couldn't wait? It was the lamest excuse ever.
I'm not sure how is he immortal. Are there other pits around the world? They didn't say.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I don't want him to be a Malcolm 2.0. A character beyond redemption and worse responsible for the death of Diggle's brother. I'm already in enough pain because of what's happening between Oliver and Diggle. I don't want to go through something similar with Diggle and Felicity. BUT I'm willing to give the writers the benefit of the doubt. He could be Darhk's right hand or something and turn on him eventually and help the team.
look up, you started with the bullshit comment, first blood is on your hands tonight.
ReplyDeleteI don't tend to start flame wars, I tend to have opinions that you and others react quite sensitive on. I don't seek the conflict, most of the times you find me. Isn't it telling that every fight the two of us have is when you react butthurt over an opinion I have. I don't fight with Koky or Shannon, you however feel the need to jump my every post if you disagree. And that's fine but don't pull the blame on me here.
In fact, while I enjoy our discussions, the two of us seem to be the only ones fighting over this.
But let's get back to my opinion you clearly disagree with: my opinion of the ship being the main reason for this show to go down is based on my belief that every un-developed arc COULD have been developed if time would have been taken from this ship to develop the arc. The sad thing is: the screentime to give a proper exlpaination for Saras death was there but it was given to a 4 minute drama, hugging and kissing scene. The time to focus on Thea being confused after the pit was there but it had to be cut short with a 3 minute sex scene including 5 minute induedo.
You may not disagree but the only one here that gets incredibly defensive is you.
I apologize if my "spit in your milk" comment enraged you but your "bullshit" and "shut up"s feel more insulting to me than anything I've said so far.
You know, I like talking to you but if you feel that I'm disrespecting you in any way then I urge you to ignore me in the near future because if you or me can't handle the heat each other puts on us it has no point to discuss.
Plus: I didn't even insult you first, look up. You started with the "bullshit" comment. So stop pointing your finger in my direction and think about you trying a little to hard to blame me here.
I hate the fact that Olicity took so much out of Arrow, yes. I really do. I'm at a point I cringe whenever seeing Felicitys face now, it's sad to be honest. Because I really liked her character. But since she's become the face of everything wrong (to me) with Arrow I've grown frustrated with her.
Maybe this show has turned into something i shouldn't watch anymore but I still enjoy parts of the show including the good memories.
Maybe you still enjoy it but at least try to respect others views as well for once.
That's exactly what I'm afraid of, I hated the redemption arc for Malcolm this year (that being said I also hated Felicitys attitude towards him, I'm biased, sure but a little more humility in front of a man who could kill you in a few seconds would be nice).
ReplyDeleteI'm not giving the writers anything anymore.
The only things that still hold me on Arrow are really dumb things like me being attatched to some characters and plotlines but that's it. The writers have messed this show up for me and I'm hanging on it still by a small string.
I don't want to give up on the show but the writers clearly have chosen between fandoms. We want a plot and we're not served anymore
There was an interesting meme about Kreisberg arguing with Guggenheim about the Canary Cry. "How about we add the Canary Cry next episode" "More Olicity" "But, the cry is important" "Olicity" "Fine I'll just do it on my show".
ReplyDeleteSure that meme was hyperbolic but it's true, they could have taken a few minutes out of the 6 minutes of Olicity we got that episode and used it to at least establish the cry. But they have their priorities. And these priorities are based on reactions on twitter
I saw that dumb post and I'm not going to comment on it.
ReplyDeleteWhat 6 minutes of Olicity we got in 3x21? When she said "Oliver this isn't you. Look at me?" That took 6 minutes? Huh. Time sure moves differently here.
I was actually going with episode 20. Just take 30 seconds out of the sex scene and have Laurel open a package from Cisco
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you feel that way. Mostly because it's totally untrue. Honestly how did the writers please the shippers this seasons? Until episode 20 we were in hell. And even after that it got worse. NO ONE liked that horrible cringe worthy "relationship" between Felicity and Ray and yet they went for it. The writers write what they thing is best for the show. We might disagree with them (A LOT) but we don't influence them.
ReplyDeleteMy girl Shu called this one so I'm not really surprised. She said they r repeating Arrow's storylines but w/o their mistakes. Here's hoping she's right.
ReplyDeleteLaurel was hardly in that episode. That scene wouldn't have made sense. It was logical to explain it on 21 when she first used it.
ReplyDeleteYou see that's the thing about that relationship fans don't seem to get:
ReplyDeleteeven if it's negative, the ship was still focused on. The show put in some significant blows to the ship like Ray and the kiss thing. But it was still PART of the Olicity arc. This is what bothered me, just because it's negative that doesn't make it NOT a part of that plot.
Ray/Felicity was tied to Olicity as being part of the triangle and still having significant moments between all three of them. Like Oliver getting jealeous and all.
"We" don't do anything a big twitter fanbase keeps praising Mark and he reacts positive to it, that's only natural...and frustrating since for every piece of critique he gets 10 more "Olicity rocks" messages
Maybe the Olicity shippers should really take a closer look at the show because the show is slowly turning into one big Olicity ad . And Felicity in the first half was comic relief then she cried up until Oliver came back from Nada Parabat then she became comic relief and then she started crying again
ReplyDeleteI do try Mac. But it's hard with you, you're as forceful at times and as stubborn as I am. And as pessimistic as I am optimistic. That's really hard to not get caught up in when we're so alike and yet so dissimilar every time we argue. Yeah I'm too defensive but dude all the time man, you don't always need to go off on Arrow or insult Felicity. I get that you have problems, but it's like how you're so defensive of Laurel, I'm that way of Felicity, and idk you just always talk negatives about things and especially Arrow and it just gets too me after a while. It's fine most of the time, but this season is done can't we just try and move forward and look to Oliver becoming Green Arrow, HIVE, justice for Andy and all that cool shit instead of making it about what ship sucks or why you didn't like three, etc. I mean this is a comic book show let's talk about awesome shit not how much something sucks. Look ahead stuff like that. I like talking to you, and making up bullshit slash pairings for the hell of it, but damn I just wish we didn't have to always get into arguments or even discussions about non-cool comic stuff. And honestly I really don't find angry arguing fun. And it brings out the worst in me.
ReplyDeleteYeah, because they cut her goodbye scene to Oliver...caused some uproar in the anti-ship community.
ReplyDeleteLaurel got shafted, I don't mind that it's just frustrating to see one female lead get better but being focused on less and then seeing another female lead getting focused on more but being destroyed.
I'll be honest: if Olicity is a big arc next season this show and me will have to go seperate ways because I can't imagine another season of what we got
they will...
ReplyDeletesadly this is something I agree with.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree we're the polar opposite of each other :P
ReplyDeleteBut that makes part of it fun.
I guess we should end this fight and wait for next season to continue it. See, I'm excited but also heavily pessimistic, I'll try to tame that down for the time being :)
So we agree. Keeping Felicity and Oliver apart sucks and ruins the show. Season 4 is your season then ;)
ReplyDeleteKidding aside, I do want their relationship to take a backseat next season. I want them to be stable and happy. Of course I want to get romantic moments but I want them to go back to being partners and focus more on TA.
You know, I liked their sister/brother relationship better...
ReplyDeleteIKR? How dare she cry when she lost the man she loves. TWICE! What kind of a person would do that?? UGH the things the show does to please the shippers.
ReplyDeleteIt does make it part if the fun. Thanks man, and good to know. And I'll try to be less combative, defensive and insulting from now on. :D
ReplyDeletethink of it like that, if it wasn't for us this place would only be half the fun :P
ReplyDeleteThey were never a brother and sister. If a brother and sister have this flirtatious undertone to their interactions and a sister tells her brother that she noticed his body and imagined him saying "hold onto me tight" or the brother checks her out when he sees her in a dress. Then someone should make them an appointment with a family therapist.
ReplyDeletethey weren't flirty until late season 2.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't a goodbye really. He didn't tell her what was going on and didn't even tell her that Thea was dying. He lied to her as usual. They should be thankful that scene got cut. And was she supposed to mention the device in that scene. "Thea is sick we are going away. Take care of the city and fix your relationship with your dad." "Cool. I'll work on that. I even have a new awesome toy that Cisco gave me."
ReplyDeleteLaurel got shafted? Really? REALLY?????
Are we still talking about Oliver and Felicity?
ReplyDeleteWell, please don't have Iris pinning after Barry. Give her a love interest, someone on her job to screw with Barry's head. Westallen is endgame. I'm not worried, not at all.
ReplyDeleteWhy...not...just....cast....for Patty freaking Spivot?
ReplyDeleteSo true Mac. So true. :D
ReplyDeleteI don't see Iris getting w someone she just lost Eddie n they actually have a good reason to keep her single for bit, she's mourning. I do believe she will be a issue for new Felicity lol because her friendship with Barry will implode that union soon enough.
ReplyDeleteThe last thing Barry needs is a new love interest. And he already knows that Iris's going to be his wife in the future. Shouldn't he be pursuing her? And on top of all, they are going to make her into a Felicity copycat? WTF?
ReplyDeleteOh, I agree, Pam. Iris needs time to mourn. It will be hard to watch, but in time she will move on. Barry with a 'new love interest' won't end well, and we all know why. I give a few months tops!!
ReplyDeletePLEASE STOP!!!!!! It's Caitlin and Barry and i don't care what anyone says!!!!
ReplyDeleteIs there an air date for Vixen yet?
ReplyDeleteWell, 'Wendy' could be one of those classic casting fake names and the character is actually Patty Spivot
ReplyDeleteSounds great. Where does Iris fit into this
ReplyDeleteLol, love square? Where? And plis stop with this crap..this is not arrow. Caitlin is nothing like Felicity and The flash is ten times a better show.
ReplyDeleteCaitlin didnt had anything with Barry. What are you smoking? Lol
ReplyDeletePlease stop comparing The Flash with The Arrow mess. And that Olicity crap is nothing like WestAllen.
ReplyDeleteI do not agree with you very much, but i agree about this. Felicity is so much better without Olicity. S3 ruined her.
ReplyDeleteI HATE love triangles. stupid cw.
ReplyDeleteIt's WestAllen. wtf is biris lol
ReplyDeleteI'm not even worried. Now the Eddie is dead, they knew someone to block WestAllen a little more for the sake of drama. WestAllen will happen mostly likely at the end of S2, so i will be here just smiling about this "new love interest' lmao
ReplyDeleteGrant said in a interview that he thinks barry and iris will probably be together at the middle of Season 2, so this "new love interest" have a period of validity for sure lmao
ReplyDeleteTotally. We know Barry and Iris is just a matter of time to happen. So this new girl seems so dull, but of course they will do this..it's CW
ReplyDeleteLaurel now too, AWESOME!!!!
ReplyDeleteExactly. It won't workout w new girl because it's not suppose to. She will serve her purpose she is nothing more than a delay tactic. She will be likable a true "ship teaser" but Barry/Iris r indeed the real story n this is nothing but a detour not a destination. Lol
ReplyDeleteI feel like when Felicity was dating Ray, everything was close to being back to normal. She was happy and having a life outside of Team Arrow. Plus no angst. :D Then she dumped him and we left the eye of the storm and got launched back into the Olicity angst hurricane.
ReplyDeleteOf course. The CW can't survive without their love triangles.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. Arrow season 3 was awful with the stupid shipper drama. Only the shippers don't seem to think so. Blinded by love I guess;)
ReplyDeleteI'm not trying to compare... I just don't want them to make the Flash into a mess like Arrow. It's hard not to see similarities though. I mean people didn't like Laurel even though it's supposed to be Oliver and Laurel and a lot of people don't like Iris so what? I'm supposed to think "well they did this on Arrow but they won't do it on Flash"...heck no. I'm preparing myself for the worst.
ReplyDeleteEveryone else lost Oliver too but I didn't see them crying their eyes out every minute either
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised, lol.
ReplyDeleteStill can happen. 1 hour Supergirl (Pilot + Q&A)
ReplyDelete10 minute pause - Arrow cast comes on stage - 2-3 minute trailer - 35 minutes Q&A - 5 minutes signing stuff for the fans. All around 40-45 minutes and they do it two more times for Flash and Gotham.
I thought Barry & Iris was endgame. Damn... sad....
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's going to be Supergirl in the first hour, then Arrow/Flash/Gotham combined in the second hour, followed by Legends in the third hour.
ReplyDeleteOhhh yeah I forgot Legends. But Legends won't shot a pilot till early August so they won't need more than half an hour.
ReplyDelete1. She didn't cry every minute. And the only 2 times she "cried her eyes out" was after leaving Oliver in NP (The second time she lost him) when she was telling Laurel. And in 3x21 when she realized that the man she loves was truly gone. Not only that but he kidnapped Lyla and left baby Sara alone, and was about to kill Diggle.
ReplyDelete2. Oliver wasn't anyone else's soulmate.
Besides who exactly was going to cry? Diggle? Laurel, who was so ready to kill him in 21 to save Nyssa whom she's known for months? (regardless of how hysterical it is that she thinks she can actually kill him) Or Thea who asked Malcolm to train her in the first place so she wouldn't feel pain anymore, physical and emotional. She didn't even cry when she found out she killed an old friend while being mind controlled.
Shelley is on Teen Wolf. Hopefully she stays there :)
ReplyDeleteLmao nothing but honestly you can agree with what I am saying, it's like they put more romance and less superhero thing.
ReplyDeleteAnd what about Iris? Are they going to cast a new love interest for every season so he can date her for 2-3 episodes and she disappears and he goes back to Iris every time?
ReplyDeleteNot yet.
