ReplyDeleteCan' wai for his show o air !!!
ReplyDeleteSo Clarke is now 36 and Kara is 24 years old and it's been '32' years since her birth right ?
Actually the journey from Krypton to Earth isn't quick, it takes at 3-4 years to get to Earth so when Clark got to Earth he was a toddler not a baby, so he's not 36. Clark's age isn't technically known, by Earth standards technically he IS 36 but not by birth. But yeah Kara's been on Earth since she was 12.
ReplyDeleteWas that in the comics ?
ReplyDeleteIt won't make sense for a 6 month / year old baby to travel through space for 3 or 4 year alone with no one to feed or change him.
Wih Krypton being a highly intelligent space race I'm sure they can get Kal-El here with in days.
We know tha Kara Zor-El was 12 and Kal-El under 1 or 2 when they fled Krypton. We also know that Kara was trapped in the Phantom Zone for 24 year before landing on earth so when she arrived as a twelve year old Kal was 24. Kara is now 24 so that makes Kal 36, even though Kara has been alive for 36 as well.
If we added 3 or 4 years for space travel Kal aka Clarke would be 40 now.
CBS better hope this show rates as well as they think it will.
ReplyDeleteYeah it's from the comics, their ships aren't just ships they're made to take care of Clark and Kara, Krypton's nowhere near our galaxy. It's approximately 23 galaxies away from the Milky Way. The only way to get faster than that is by portal.
ReplyDeleteFood nutrient thingy in ship, etc. Well it's usually 3-4 years. But they could change it.
ReplyDeleteWas that how it was in the comics ?
ReplyDeleteIt has varied. He's been an infant, a toddler.
ReplyDeleteIt feels so good talking about Kryptonian stuff LOL
ReplyDeleteIt does indeed Ivan. It does indeed.
ReplyDeleteSci Fi -- food and waste disposal handled. :-) The first version of the origin story I read -- about the 70s -- Kal went into the pod on Krypton as an infant and was a toddler when he came out. This was before they ramped down on his power. So, he arrived here fully powered by the sun (first thing he did was pick a truck off of Jonathan...I think the Christopher Reeve flick was the closest to the original comics version I read.
ReplyDeleteThe first comic origin for Kara I read I don't remember any specifics as to why she was so young..compared to Clark. I want to say she came out of the Bottle City of Kandor rather than a ship from Krypton. I'd have to go rummage through my comic to test my memory there.
Wow! This trailer is good!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved Supergirl, even more when Laura Vandervoort brough life to her character. And now with Melissa. I CAN NOT WAIT
ReplyDeleteOkay, I have not read the comic books so I don't know if this is explained at some point, but why is Supergirl called Kara Zor-El when Superman is called Kal-El? Shouldn't he be called Kal Jor-El or she, Kara-El?
ReplyDeleteCalista's in it?! And Chyler <3 I'm definitely gonna tune into that one. I've been considering checking out Arrow for years now...but I find myself more drawn to The Flash out of the two that are already on air. Plus, LOL...She's just like Peter Parker from Spiderman, a journalist that writes a story on herself.
ReplyDeleteI like this Global trailer much better than the CBS upfront trailer.
ReplyDeleteI think the background music on both trailers is wrong. The music is too silly on the CBS trailer, and on the Global one, it's too dramatic. They both give a wrong impression.
ReplyDeleteI herd they spentspent 14 million on the pilot! Money well spent! The pilot is excellent!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a problem with the dramatic tone of the music in the Global trailer. It's the excessive volume at the end that had me rolling my eyes.
ReplyDeleteWhoa!
ReplyDeleteMelissa Benoist is an ANGEL fallen from Heaven! LOL, her energy, excitement over her work is so contagious, they picked the best Supergirl after Laura.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was just OK, and bad compared to The Flash or Arrow. I hope it gets MUCH better
ReplyDeleteCanada man our TV channels do good promos.
ReplyDeleteIn Kryptonian society a female when named takes her father's name.
ReplyDeleteGod I hope some day this folds into the Arrowverse (i.e. through the multiverse). Aliens, especially Kryptonians are always a plus.
ReplyDeleteSupergirl belongs in the DCEU, not on television. Man of Steel already had an easter egg referencing her.
ReplyDeleteThey can't spend that much on every episode, can they? So how will the quality of the effects look?
ReplyDeleteUsually pilots cost a lot due to building new sets etc which is very expensive. But after that they can continue using the sets for no extra cost and can spend money on effects. The budget would be around 3-4 million per episode which is typical for network shows
