South Korea’s EnterMedia Pictures is to produce a Korean localized version of “Suits,” the legal drama series that airs in North America on USA Network. The deal is the first international adaptation of the series which is represented by NBCUniversal International Formats.
The Korean version will be jointly executive produced by Sebastian Lee Dong Hun and David Kim of EnterMedia Contents. The pair was responsible for the U.S. adaptations of Korean hit scripted series, “My Love from A Star” and “Good Doctor.”

Don't know why but I find this hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThis concept could translate very well internationally so it is a good call.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch the show but for some reason I can't imagine anyone taking the remake seriously. Bahahaha
ReplyDeleteMe too, lol
ReplyDeleteI love foreign remakes, every localized version is always unintentionally hilarious due to themes that don't translate well.
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for some foreign country to adapt Buffy tho...why? Because I'll take my Buffy fix from anywhere these days
Oh God, you made me remember the attempted American version of Hana Yori Dango. It was so terrible...
ReplyDeleteThe manga was great, the Tdrama was good, the Jdrama was great, the Kdrama was AMAZING, then the US discovered it...
Also Death Note is meant to be getting an American remake but from what I've been told of the script theirs no way they're going to capture the eerie feel of the original.
/facepalm/
ReplyDeleteActually I'd even watch this!
I have watched some Korean dramas (don't judge) and I was surprised by how they could pull off some good story lines in different professional settings.
ReplyDeleteI've watched some Korean Dramas and they're actually pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI have seen both “My Love from A Star” and “Good Doctor.”
it might work
big fan of kdramas this is crazy cool
ReplyDeleteI don't think the American "version" was even legit. It was just bad in every sense of the word. Not even broadast quality IMO.
ReplyDeleteI've been a little picky with y Korean soaps so when I find something good, I stick to it. Hopefully this is good. Some of the stuff I've watched:
ReplyDelete1. Autumn in my Heart
2. Winter Sonata
3. Summer Scent
4. Spring Waltz
6. Crazy Love (I found myself cheering on the mistress and the cheater because everyone else sucks)
7. Two Wives
8. Glory Jane
9. Save the Last Dance for Me
10. Boys Over Flowers (Korea)
11. Memories of Bali (the ending was cray)
12. Lovers in Paris
13. Bright Girl
14. My Girl
15. Forbidden Love (Before there was Twlilight, there's this one about liver-eating humanoid foxes)
16. Scent of a Woman
17. Equator Man
18. Stained Glass
19. Three Brothers
20. Jumong
I'd be curious to see the versions of the characters, especially the Louis character... lol
ReplyDeleteHave you read the comics?
ReplyDeleteYep, I even bought the motion comic on dvd
ReplyDeleteBut the problem with the comics is that it's just too whacky at times (like Spikes space-pirates)
Huh. Wouldn't know just started season five of Buffy and season two of Angel.
ReplyDeleteprobably last 1 or 2 season after that done. only those love drama last.
