Update 1:
The showrunner is sad to see the Liars' teenage chapter come to a close, but she's ready to go on a "dark ride" when the series time-jumps five years into the future for the second half of season six. "The Liars were a big part of that [flash-forward] decision because those incredible actresses really have outgrown the teenage years," she explained. "Time was moving very slowly in Rosewood and we were ready to speed it up."

Original Post:
The girls are graduating in episode 6.10 at age 18. Since Spencer is now 24, the time jump must be 6 years instead of the previously reported 4 year time jump.
Wow that's a big jump... Im not sure that will transition well on screen. OTH did a 4 year time jump. That worked out for them, maybe this will work for PLL.
ReplyDeleteHolograms! LOL
ReplyDeleteDAMN! A SIX year time-jump? That's crazy!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the show is going to age well
ReplyDeleteMeet George Jetson .... his boy Elroy ....daughter Judy .... Jane his wife. Oppps wrong show.

Save the fanbase, save the world.
lol
ReplyDeleteI've never seen PLL, only Ravenswood for the teen-horror aspect.
But since it's in my hands:
Allison, not the one we know but her second persona. Wooot? She has one? Yes she does. She's a twisted sociopath that doesn't even know she is one, like a real psycho killer. Her second persona lingers in the back controlling her good persona, running all these little games from the back.
Again: never seen this show
LMAO,
ReplyDeleteTouche Christopher TOUCHE. ;)
or
Meet Kenneth DiLaurentis ... his son{s} Jason ... and ... Charlie ... daughter Ali ... and Jessica his wife.
OTH did both
ReplyDeleteFour years after high school, nine for the finale
HA!
ReplyDeleteThe four lead actresses must be thrilled to get a chance to play the characters closer to their own ages, and other cast members as well.
ReplyDeleteEspecially Lucy Hale since she's had to play a victim of statutory rape, no matter what anyone says or how many excuses they have, that's what she's been playing for six years.
ReplyDeleteMac, you know you want to watch it. Join the craziness
ReplyDelete^^
Damn that would be so amazing! Anything else is gonna seem like a letdown now lol
ReplyDeleteis that even likely? I only know that the reason they all came together in s1 was because this Allison chick died
ReplyDeleteI kinda do but I'm not too hot on starting another time consuming show. Since it's ending with season 7 from what I've heard I think it'll be a perfect "Complete Series" box-set buy
ReplyDeleteIt's not possible for it to just be her, she'd have to help, which would be more believable than just one person anyway!
ReplyDeleteIn some ways I almost feel worse for Ian Harding (Ezra) because he actually gives a halfway decent performance when he gets to play Mr Fitz the teacher instead of the creepy guy in love with a high school girl. There is no denying how horrible the story line has always been.
ReplyDeleteFirst 5 seasons are on Netflix, you know you want to catch up ;)
ReplyDeletei hope its not where they have not seen each other in six straight years i hope they got together a few times for like birthdays,Christmas, other holidays, and weddings
ReplyDeleteThey were together before she died but separated when she went missing and when her body is found they come back together , they were friends in Allison's clique but Allison was team leader who knew everyone's secrets and was closer to everyone and was kinda a big B back then at least, think Regina mean girls.
ReplyDeleteI like the direction they took with her when she comes back , I knew Allison was alive by the end of the pilot lol .
Its harder to take it seriously when the actors practically are the same age and look that way.
ReplyDeleteIm sure ABC told them to cast young to avoid making the relationship look as bad as it was.
I hope one of them is crazy.
ReplyDelete"I have your baby's booties and diapers." - A
ReplyDeleteGuess there finally realized none of the girls could pass for 17 anymore! Its strange the girls have been 4 -6 years younger
ReplyDeletethan me and now there gonna be the same age as me?
The problem is Lucy Hale LOOKS 16-17, it makes me sick that the creator and author thought this storyline was a good idea.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I thought no one even cared that it's what it is: statutory rape, with all these excuses "oh no it's not that bad, he's only a couple of years older" PLEASE! give me a break. For a channel supposedly for families they have some balls calling PLL a show that all families can watch. Phew! sorry had to get that out.
ReplyDeleteMy bet's on the smart one, she's already on the edge
ReplyDeleteGet ready for statutory rape.
ReplyDeleteThat's why they're making the money for the show, and not you. Students do have relationships with teachers, it happens whether it's okay or not. Why should they pretend it doesn't?? Ezria is one of my favorite parts about PLL and I'm not the only one, so obviously it wasn't a bad idea to make the storyline. It serves as one of the most centric couples of the entire fandom....
ReplyDeleteI agree its been a rough storyline for the show, but age is just a number. My husband is 8 years older then me and when we started dating I was 17. So the idea that a younger girl and older guy can't date is not a big issue for me, being he's her teacher thats a little rough. But all in all I think their relationship was portrayed fine, lucy is great and her and ian have good chemistry.
ReplyDeleteFinally the girls will playing their age more or less.I hope that pregancy rumor is baseless.
ReplyDeleteDid you, you know... when you were 17?
ReplyDeleteWell then they're sick bastards
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of crazy: when the show started the liars were roughly the same age as me, a little younger even.
ReplyDeleteSince then I've aged but since they aged slower I've been older than them for the last couple of seasons.
And now, suddely, they are going to be older than me :P
And one and a half year between season 6 and 7...
ReplyDeleteWhat episode is the time jump happens btw?
ReplyDeleteIn the mid-season finale, episode 10.
ReplyDeleteWhat's with the hostility? I'm not 17 anymore. And no I probably would think its a little much. But its not always so cut and dry. Sometimes you can't help who you love.
ReplyDeleteWell then WAIT until you're legal, now i'm speaking generally not to you.
ReplyDeleteYa I agree when the age difference is that significant then they should wait till they are legal. In my particular situation I was 17 and he was 26, now after 9 years together he's 35 and I'm 27. Doesn't sound so bad does it.
ReplyDeleteYeah at the age you guys are now it doesn't sound that bad, i'm glad you at least agree about waiting.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the "B" word, LOL
ReplyDeleteI just thought of this, you don't think one of the girls will have spent those 6 years going all Board of Craziness, with every clue they could find and pin on the board while appearing normal to the outside world?
ReplyDeleteSo, who is going to be pregnant? I'm hoping is not Spencer (she's too smart for that) or Hannah (she's the cliché, besides I can't ship her with Caleb after Miranda) That leaves Aria and Alison. I would feel very sorry for any child spawned by Alison, and Ezra deserves better tan to be tied to Aria forever by a love child. Let's hope they skip the whole obligatory pregnancy storyline.
ReplyDeleteOTH?
ReplyDeleteYes?
ReplyDelete"After Miranda" as in you hated her or liked her?
ReplyDeleteNow it's FIVE? geez lady decide already! LOL
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!!! A Caleb and Miranda shipper! Didn't you hate it when PLL basically had to have Caleb's feelings for Miranda disappear, like if they were never there because Ravenswood was cancelled. When Ravenswood fans saw so FREAKING CLEARLY that Caleb was developing feelings and falling in love with Miranda?
ReplyDeleteWhich is exactly why I can't take them seriously now. I wish Caleb hadn't come back... Don't get me wrong, I love the actor, but I hate how they brought him back, and yes, I definitely hate how they erased everything that happened in Ravenswood, it's disrespectful to the characters and the viewers, not to mention the fans.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't rule Emily out. I can definitely see her as someone who wants to have children, and maybe even at a young age. And lesbians obviously can get inseminated.
ReplyDeleteI'm still so confused how this can work tho. Like some degrees last 5-6 years (especially for a degree Spencer may take) meaning they would be a different college/ places. Even if they were finished with college, they'd still live in different places because no way in hell would they live in Rosewood after all this shit. So how would they all be together for A (another A probably) to attack them again. As A has always angled everything around them being together.
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree, what we DID have was just Caleb becoming an alcoholic and him dreaming about Miranda and then that disappeared. Same thought on having Caleb come back, if he didn't come back we could've been in this bubble of Caleb and Miranda fighting off Abaddon. Also any other ghost they came across and them having found a way to bring Miranda back and make her corporeal and then them finally be able to be together. But now we have a Caleb that's not really Caleb in a way because all he went through just disappeared like it never existed and that's a total disrespect. You know part of me has this wishful thought that when PLL ends they'll revive Ravenswood and have Caleb and Miranda back as world-weary ghost hunters LOL.
ReplyDeleteA probably does something to make the girls reunite again, like in the first season. They all went their separate ways after Ali disappeared but then came together because of A.
ReplyDeleteI was a Caleb and Miranda fan myself. I've always thought Hanna and Caleb weren't a good fit. It always felt forced. I'd rather see him with Aria. They would go together better than him and Hanna.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I think is going to happen. MK said another girl goes missing thats what starts the mystery all over again.
ReplyDeleteAwesome another Caleb and Miranda fan!
ReplyDeleteI was really pissed when Ravenswood was cancelled. And its to bad they killed Miranda off she would of been a nice addition to PLL.
ReplyDeleteI doubt she would do it at 18, that would be very unrealistic. Now if this was after the time jump, she would still be Young, but it's something I can get onboard. Teenage planned pregnancy is not, it's very irresponsible and unrealistic.
ReplyDeleteEven if he just left her there, which is not something I could see him doing, how do you get over something like that? after seeing what he saw, he just came back to Rosewood? That's very OOC, that's not the Caleb we know, he doesn't give up on things...
ReplyDeleteOf course, I must admit I'm not imparcial here, not only because I shipped Caleb/Miranda, but because I liked Ravenswood much better than PLL. I mean, the only reason why I'm still onboard with this show, is because I started watching it in season 5, I saw the first four in a row. If I had seen them the normal way, I would've probably jumped ship by now, with all the missdirection red herrings they threw at us.
That's a nice little story you tell yourself... It would be nice, wouldn't it? Unfortunately, I think they are setting Caleb/Hannah as endgame, again. It's a shame, I actually liked that policeman for her, what was his name? I can't remember...
I thought the rumour was that someone will be pregnant when they come back after the timejump, not someone getting pregnant prior to the time jump.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought it the other way around, which would explain the 6 instead of 4 year timejump. I figured it would be so the kid could be in school and they could use that as an excuse for it not being around all of the time.
ReplyDeleteIt's a five year time jump, as recently confirmed by the writers.
ReplyDeleteI suppose that if someone gets pregnant by the summer finale, in five years, the kid can be at daycare, or with the other parent, but that would also be true if the child had only been three or four years old. However if we come back in five years and someone is recently pregnant they can probably still be pregnant when the show ends, it's just a season and a half left by then, and it took the show five and a half season to get through a little less than two years.
Then of course there is also the possibility that the pregnancy-rumours are just false.
Yeah like i said the Caleb that came back isn't really Caleb, yeah it would definitely be nice, VERY nice!!! ARGHHHHH!!!!!!! Old feelings coming back, i'm sobbing now!!! Do you mean the buzzcut guy?
ReplyDeleteYeah, the blonde one, or light hair one, I liked him and he, obviously, liked her. Sure he was a bit a older, but after Ezria it wouldn't have been something to gasp about.
ReplyDeleteHe never looked much older to me though Toby looks way older,
ReplyDeletethe author knew it would get the books attention, yeah the relationship was very weird lm sure they will end up getting married.
