Sorry, Pretty Little Liars fans: That stretch between the summer finale and the winter premiere just got a whole lot longer. Despite the show’s long-running tradition of airing a Halloween or Christmas-themed special, a representative for ABC Family confirmed that “Season 6 of Pretty Little Liars will not include a holiday episode.” I know — my initial reaction is something along the lines of when Aria found out why Ezra was really in Rosewood, too.
We don’t know much about the decision to not film a holiday special this year, other than the hint that it could just be for Season 6. (Fingers crossed!) Unfortunately, there’s also no explanation — yet — as to why the Liars won’t be in for an extra-creepy Halloween 2015. (Looks like we won’t get to see the return of the Santa boxers, either.)
This news is obviously disappointing for fans who not only welcome the chance to get a dose of PLL-style terror each Halloween, but also look at the holiday episode as a break between the summer finale (Season 6’s is scheduled to air on Aug. 2) and the second half of the season, which will premiere sometime in early 2016.

sad but when we heard about the split of 10 episodes in the summer and 10 episodes in winter, I knew there won't be any special this year
ReplyDeleteDuh-There are 4/5 less episodes this season for the first time in the show's entire run. This was to be expected.
ReplyDeleteI started freelancing from home, by completing some basic jobs that only requires from you a PC and internet access and I am so happy with it... 6 months have passed since i started this and i made total of 36,000 bucks... Basicly i get paid 80 dollars every hour and work for 3 to 4 hours most of the days. And the best part about this job is that you can work when it's convenient to you and you get a paycheck weekly.<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

ReplyDeletegiving its only 10 ep each part. It's completelly understandable.
ReplyDeleteWhy would the show have a special when it's going into a 4 year time jump? Understandable.
ReplyDeleteWhat do U guys think will S07 be a full season or just a summer half?
The writers at least are planning for a full 20 episode 7th season based on tweets about having 40 episodes left.

ReplyDeleteOkay. Thx for the info.
ReplyDeleteIt's understandable with only 20 episodes this season. I don't really need it really due to how much TV I will have this fall.
ReplyDeleteThat kinda sucks, I was getting used to the special episodes. Whats one more episode? Lol
ReplyDeleteMe too, but I do understand why they didn't do one this year. Season 6 will really be split into two very different parts (more so than previous years). 6A will wrap up the A-story, and 6B will take place after the time jump.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what the Halloween special would be about haha.
This sucks, most fans love & look forward to the Holiday episodes. But with shorter season,I guess it makes sense.Maybe I'll go rewatched the old Holiday episodes then.
ReplyDeleteYa now that I think about it there's really no room for a special episode this season with the time jump and everything. Here's hoping next season has one.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping we'd get a Halloween special from Big A's perspective. I'd like to see how some of the stuff they did actually came about. I think it could potentially be as scary as it is emotional (especially if they narrate it in the tone of those diaries they found). We could have also gotten some teasers about Black Widow from that to take us into the final mystery.
ReplyDeleteSeason 1 was 22 episodes.
