  1. It is coming along very slow, but it is coming around

  2. This season appears to be slower paced but it is looking like it is worth it. Vaughn was great this episode and I really liked the pairing. Plus, that ending!

  3. I did not see that ending coming at all.

  4. daaamn. I had a feeling one of the characters would die early, as there just too many characters, but not this early.

  5. Damn, True Detective just pulled a GOT in only the 2nd episode! Now I see why the critics loved this one way better than the first one, because of that shocking ending. Should be interesting to see the story moving forward now that Ray is dead and how Ani will react to it (loved their interactions in this episode). Maybe this is what they need to kick it into high gear towards the rest of the season. That was a hell of a cliffhanger and I can't wait for next week. Colin Farrell will be missed (unless the bulletproof vest saves him?).

  6. I'm still not 100% sure Ray is dead but he was my favorite character and I'll miss him

  7. I don't believe he is dead, not even for a minute, that man's life sucks, but he has a will to live

  8. Spoiler alert: Velcoro is not dead.

True Detective Season 2, Episode 3 summary; Maybe, Tomorrow

“Ani lets Ray know she’s in charge after he goes rogue on the
investigation, even though he stumbles on crucial evidence that takes
the case in a new direction. Meanwhile, Frank meets with his former
associates in the criminal underworld, but they make it clear they’re
not taking orders from him anymore; and Paul hits the streets to see if
    Caspar’s face rings a bell.”

  9. I don't think Ray is dead. I saw some behind-the-scenes clips of him and Ani working together that looked like they took place past the second episode.

  10. Yeah that's why I ended my comment with the question as to whether or not he was wearing a bulletproof vest and maybe that's how he survived the two shotgun wounds. It's a bit of a stretch but it's possible. And come on, you don't just kill off Colin Farrell so early on!

  11. Yes I agree slow but that ending shocking

  12. He's not dead. He's listed in the description of the next episode on my TV.

  13. He's not dead. He's credited with being in 8 episodes on IMDb plus the fact that he's in the description for next weeks episode on my TV.

  14. Really liking the Ani-Ray dynamic, especially in those car scenes. I'm pretty sure Ray will find some way to survive that at the end, and I hope he does. One of the more interesting characters.

Also, that Vaughn monologue at the beginning did not work at all.

  15. When he pulled up outside the house I thought Ani was in the car and had been following him.

  16. Well that sure escalated pretty quickly. Wonder how Veloro will get out of this...

  17. I'm so bored with this season. I miss the Rusty character and the things he said. This is not what I was expecting. Lots of talk, no action. yawn.

  18. Wish that ending wasn't a fake out but it totally is, that would have been really shocking and interesting. Though I am intrigued by the Ani and Ray partnership. Paul meanwhile is so repressed, the show hasn't been subtle about it at all! I hope we get more from his character than that though. Hopefully he will get involved in the case more.

I enjoyed it more than last week but god that Frank scene at the beginning was trying way too hard I ended up laughing. I don't think its really Vince's fault, its just that the character is made of cliches.

  19. I liked this episode as well as the first. Can't wait for the rest.
