Another awesome episode! Only this show can pull off an extravagant ball lasting almost half an hour with almost all the characters in one room so damn exhilarating.
Dorian definitely sensed that Lily is not who she seems to be! It will be interesting to see if he will keep this to himself or will want to investigate further on this and tell Ethan. Oh, and yay to him finally being integrated with the group again! Just like fun old times.
Seriously, Evelyn making Malcolm cut off his beard was certainly the worst thing she's done so far. Next to him acting really bizarre. You don't make a man cut off his glorious beard! And the first official faceoff between Evelyn/Vanessa was wonderful and bitchy just as I expected. More of that please!
Jealous Victor and Angelique was absolute adorable. And Ethan returning to a recreation of the inn massacre is certainly not smart now is it? I wonder if Rusk/Roper will team up to take Ethan down and he will be forced to move back to America by the finale. That would suck. Anyways, yay to him transforming into a werewolf in front of Sembene. He looked awesome but I'm sure Sembene was scared shitless XD
Vanessa's vision of the entire ballroom being poured on by droplets of blood was so terrifying. Definitely Carrie esque. And poor Mr. Lyle. He's really risking his life here by working with both sides.
I am in love with how visually stunning this season has been. Virtually every episode has had at least one powerhouse scene/sequence of plot-driven visual spectacle that just drops my jaw. And all of them are so well done, too!
"Do I know you?" Dorian, mon ami, you should.
In an age where photographs are not yet ubiquitous, you actually have a painting of her somewhere in that room of yours. Maybe he will see the painting in a later episode and have an eureka moment or something.
Between this, Hannibal's Season Premiere, Daredevil's Speak of the Devil and last episode of Orphan Black, it's certainly been a really great weekend of tv for me.
I believe this one was the best yet so far and I'm adoring any frame of it ah ah. Loved the bait of the Nobu fight at the end only for the Kingpin reveal followed by Foggy finding out who the man in the black mask is.
Great, extraordinary show. I hate I only have 4 left. I promised myself I would take my time with these but it's becoming more and more difficult episode after episode :-)
Ethan should have killed Roper the moment he started threaten his house mates and especially after mentioning Vanessa's room. I would of and if that makes me the Bad Wolf so be it. - this wolf mode at the end I knew it was going to be at the end and it was but atleast its out now and Sembe knows and next week he goes on a trip with Vanessa so that's something really good to look forward to.
Dorian was being the sex demon again. You can just tell he wants to mess with people to see how they react just so his life doesn't bore out.
Love has made Frankenstein a bit week indeed. He should of known Lily would start to remember bits sooner or later so he shouldn't have been angry at her for balling with Dorian. And also that people could recognize her out in the world. - but yea it's about time his secrets come to lite not so in a negative way but in a way where he can start being more open rather then secretive for longer which could hurt him.
The witches have been busy and they stike again, tapping Vanessa to scare her but this will just reaffirm Vanessa that the witches are people closer to her then otherwise thought.
Sembe I want your reaction next week body. If it was me I would be like holy s*#t I got a supernatural friend.
Once again a fantastic episode. Though there were parts that felt a bit slow, but they were minor.
Roper threatening the others, especially Vanessa in front of Ethan...not smart. There has to be more to him for him to be that bold when he knows what Ethan is capable of...I'm really shocked Ethan didn't just kill him right there. No doubt we'll see that confrontation before the end of the season. Also Ethan going to the museum, not a good idea, but I can kind of understand why he needed to.
I just love the scenes between Victor and Vanessa. He's so naive when it comes to love and she just loves teasing him about it. Yet she also showed sympathy when Lily was clearly taken with Dorian. It will be interesting to see what Lily does now..if she'll remember Dorian and her old life.
The tension between the characters at the ball was fun to watch. Vanessa's confrontation with Evelyn was awesome. I loved the underlying hostility in the scene. Can't wait to see more from them.
Poor Vanessa. She can't even go to a ball without being attacked with a vision of raining blood. I loved that Lyle was trying to get her out of there. It's very brave considering he's also being forced to work with the witches. I think we'll see him choose a side soon and I doubt it will be the side of the witches. I just hope it doesn't get him killed. I really like him.
I wanted to be at that ball!! All the characters interacting, amazing to watch.
- My heart went out to Vanessa when she vulnerably asked Ethan on a "date" and he said no. Though she went anyway, albeit that's not the norm. You Go girl! - Please change Sir Malcom back!! - And I was quite surprised with Dorian's infatuation with with Lily. Sure, he's looking for someone that's one of a kind, but his focus does change from person to person very quickly. - And the doctors face when Vanessa mentioned Mr. Claire.. Priceless. I hope the three of them meet. Would love to see that situation unfold.
Everything was visually stunning (bloody Chopin!) EXCEPT FOR that stupid prosthetic Ethan wears as werewolf. Oh my, it looks like sth borrowed from Teen Wolf, get rid of it immediately!
Fantastic episode. I loved all the amazing character interactions in this episode.
I have really come to enjoy all scenes between Vanessa and Victor. She is like an older, much wiser sister - teasing him and advising him too. Victor had a 'oh shit' moment when Vanessa mentioned John Clare. It will be interesting to see these three meet together. No scratch that. It would be even more epic if Lily too was a part of this meeting. Complications all around. Vanessa knows Victor is in love with Lily while Lily is supposed to be the betrothed of John Clare. Super awkward.
Really glad that Ethan went to Sembene. One other team up that I have enjoyed this season.
Lyle continued to be awesome. I hope he survives this season. He may be under the thumb of the witches but I still appreciated how he was looking out for Vanessa.
Poor Malcolm. Completely under the spell of Evelyn Poole. Not even feeling sorry or sad for his wife's death. I wonde when reality will hit him. Probably in E08 (there are some pics of him looking at old photographs and crying)
Victor got jealous and that led to his abrasive and irrational behavior towards Lily. Vanessa saw it though and I was hoping she would knock some sense into him but unfortunately Hecate had t o interfere just then.
And the ending was amazing. Hecate is quite a handful, isn't she? She spoke about some long term plans/far sightedness - what is she planning? Is she going against her mother? Surely, disrupting Vanessa like that towards the end was not the plan of Evelyn Poole at all.
Bow down ot this epsiode, For me it is the best. How everything went down from the little scenes with Ethan and the detective to Caliban and Levinia to the bigegr one with the ball. Viktor being so jealous and Dorian and Brona finding their lost conection. Hecate played Vanessa rally well, that scene was so well done. I was scared i was almsot screaming for someone to come and help her. I ahve a feeling we will loose Mr. Liles at the end of teh season and i dont want that.
Oh I really hope Mr. Lyle survives season 2 :-( He's just so likable.
In the Vanessa-Ball scene, I was mostly scared Vanessa would scream out loud (Thinking Hecate can't physically hurt her in public), and then her vision would go away. We's just be left with all the fine folk staring awkwardly at her. So I was actually releaved when she fainted.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
- While I still thought that this was a great episode, I feel that it wasn't as strong as previous episodes.
ReplyDeleteThis episode was a work of art. One of the Best episodes of This show. IGN calls it amazing. They are pretty spot on. Next episode looks even better
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning episode. I love Dorian and Angelique. The acting, as always, was above everything else. God I love this show!

this season is just AMAZEBALLZ HOLY SHITTTTT ! and next week's episode looks freakin' epic
