Such a great episode of the Messengers. Probably the best. Rose is a horsemen and the devil is suppose to be working with the messengers. Didn't see that coming
This was great episode I like how they all care about each other I was shock but did kinda saw it coming that Rose is a horsemen so does this make Amy the seven messenger I really wish they didn't cancel the show but I know we going get a satisfying ending hopefully with everyone being alive
Thanks, that was actually a shot in the dark i didn't know if you watched it LOL. There was a TINY part of me that thought that The CW would be able to save it, it sucks! There were supposed to be MILLIONS of DC TV Shows on the air and it's sad that Constantine won't be one of them.
I bet most of these people haven't even seen the episode. I see that percentage for "awful" always like the thumbs down for YouTube. Even a video about a puppy has at least one thumbs down just because hah pathetic but there might have been people who watched 9 episodes and thought this one was unbearable hah
Hell Yea, that was the best episode this season. At first I was worried that there was going to be a betrayal, then the Devil started playing nice gave his good logic and I was like oh Hell yea I'm happy for he Betrayal this changes the game. But Joshua dying was sad, I liked him, there is a cost to happiness? Will the Devil Res him now or later. Either way I like this change of event be it for like several more episodes.
The reason she was happy was because she's INSANE, she stole a dead woman's ring, a woman SHE killed, and was PRETENDING there was a fiance. Sociopaths do it all the time, so no inconsistency there, they would've gained their powers when they saw each other. Someone said that maybe Amy's not a Messenger but a Prophet, like it was said on the episode Amy's the daughter of a Messenger, so it was probably a given that she was special, she drew the Hospital sign in the first or second episode. I mean i would love if she was a Messenger like her mother, the first Mother-Daughter Messenger, but probably not. How did you out the accent on the "E" of "fiance"? Amy turned creepy here didn't she? It was mean to do that LOL, she was the only kid on television that WASN'T creepy.
I agree they overdo it with contrived storytelling, and relying too much on everything coincidental being "fate" but eh... I don't think it's a show that you can take too seriously, so I can look past it.
It was a really good episode but I was kind of lukewarm when it was over. I think, maybe, it was the last scene. The desperate vote to hand over the name of the latest horseman to bring Joshua back from the dead. With Amy drawing prophetic pictures I was beginning to think that she was being groomed to replace Joshua. (I wouldn't be upset if the older woman got her gift back, in the wake of his death.) I like the actress and the character.
I have been concerned since the seal was broken in the pilot, that they're going too fast with the big mission for a TV series. The first two seals were delt with really quickly and now a third has already been broken. I like Rose being one of the bad guys. Hopefully it will give them enough story to carry through for a series.
However they replace Joshua (resurrection, Amy, or the ex-Messenger) they still need to find the 7th messenger.
I usually do and can (I try not to not nitpick or be overly critical with shows) but for some reason I just am more with this show. But I liked the twist and the whole deal with the Devil ending.
Exactly, Ivan. Looks like someone didn't paid attention. I think I know who is the other messenger. Is a big black guy. He's with all of them. There's a picture of the final day of shooting when they're all together.
Felt like they were rewriting things to fit, into this new vision, but ultimately a good epi. Rose makes one sexy horseman of death. Creepy lady being creepy and slightly Eloise Hawking in Lost. Nadia being all crushy.. her poppa-uncle may have to buy a lock for her door. Who's the nxt mssgnr? I reckon it's the kid, or maybe Nadia.
Agreed. How could Rose break her seal seven years before the messengers were called. I thought the devils arrival on earth ignited their destinies to stop that happening. Rose was a bli mmin' hero, then nurse death mercy.. but it was only when her lovers wife turn up, nd no messengers to save her, did she break the seal. boo hiss writers. Somehow her lover didnt notice his wife' expensive ring missing, now worn in plain sight on Rose' finger? Devil tries to work with her newbie self, and she's stronger so he sends a druggie to off her? What about that soldier or even a real killer. Instead she wakes with the knowledge of who the mssgnrs are without being told, apparently better informed than the fallen himself. Yeh, there's a plot shoehorn being used to squeeze this into the finale.
Maybe the writers hope the Under the Dome plan worked where try make it as crazy and non-sensical as possible and it will get renewed. My biggest problem with the episode was how much the devil changed. One minute he helps the politician horseman, but when Rose became a horseman he tries having her killed. Also God is completely absent from the whole series. If you're going to do a supernatural show with the end times, angels and devil, shouldn't God be more than the line of "you've got to prove humanity is worth saving".
I think she lied about the fiancee. In fact she straight up did, that twist does work in that way. Don't think that's ever been said about the gifts and they couldn't. There's never been a established timeline about if you can or cannot break a seal before more that the powers of the messengers don't activate until it begins, and it does sort of explain why the apocalypse started now, she broke the seal went in a coma for the next seven years and God's casting out Lucifer caused her to awaken and them to become messengers. It's obvious that probably ain't a messenger, since she wasn't affected by the meteor and doesn't have any power. She could be a prophet or something else through, The only real flaw is the Devil's part and maybe Rose's knowledge of the Messengers (unless of course the Devil told her before she refused to work with him).
Yeah there's no inconsistency like Jodie thinks, i actually like the fact that Amy might be a Prophet, it makes sense. She drew the hospital where they all met again, she drew Michael and the Messengers reuniting at the market and now she drew Joshua at the cemetery. It all adds up to Amy being something very special. I also like that i wasn't crazy when i thought the way Rose and the Devil talked to each other was very strange.
I honestly was losing interest in this show after last weeks episode. I felt it was dry and drawn out. But this episode was awesome, best of the series so far. It drew me back in and I cannot wait to find out what happens next!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteWho died? Are Raul and Erin okay?
ReplyDeleteThis was great episode I like how they all care about each other I was shock but did kinda saw it coming that Rose is a horsemen so does this make Amy the seven messenger I really wish they didn't cancel the show but I know we going get a satisfying ending hopefully with everyone being alive
ReplyDeleteYeah they're fine. Based on the promo, even if they died, the devil would still be able to resurrect them.
ReplyDeleteJoshua died but next week promo seems the messengers might take the deal with the devil to bring back to life
ReplyDeleteOK phew!, actually i mean are they still dating?
ReplyDeleteI saw someone say something very interesting: that Amy could be a prophet.
ReplyDeleteI guess. They weren't really in the same scenes this episode.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so Joshua a Messenger can die?!
ReplyDeleteYeah, he died at the hands of Rose who turns out to be a horsemen
ReplyDeleteSo this time someone is making a deal with the ACTUAL Devil, not just metaphorically, very weird.
ReplyDeleteTHAT BITCH!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo she's like Manny from Constantine? She faked her wings?
ReplyDeleteNice comparison. I'm kinda sad to see Constantine go
ReplyDeleteAwful: 23% ? Crazy people. BEST EPISODE SO FAR! Perfection.
ReplyDeleteOkay. Honestly this show relies too much on coincidence, twists (though the Rose thing is cool), and the idiot ball.
ReplyDeleteThanks, that was actually a shot in the dark i didn't know if you watched it LOL. There was a TINY part of me that thought that The CW would be able to save it, it sucks! There were supposed to be MILLIONS of DC TV Shows on the air and it's sad that Constantine won't be one of them.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the coincidence? the hints to Rose were always there for those who saw it.
ReplyDeleteIcan see why this show was not given a chance and thus cancelled.
ReplyDeleteI bet most of these people haven't even seen the episode. I see that percentage for "awful" always like the thumbs down for YouTube. So in a way SERIOUSLY messed up way ROSE is our Big Bad and the Devil is our antagonist?
ReplyDeleteAwesome episode!!! Can't wait for next week :)
ReplyDeleteIt was me, I voted awful. Too many inconsistencies for a plot twist thought up at the beginning of this episode. Rose breaks a seal 7 years ago and is all happy in the 1st (episode's) scene when she's engaged yet we're told there is no fiancé. Didn't they get their gifts before the seals were broken. How could they work together and stop her breaking a seal if they weren't even messengers yet. Devil wants to be on team messengers now, where's God is all this. If Amy is a messenger (which she probably is) then the 7 messengers have been together all along so Erin shouldn't be having trouble with her gift. See I have been watching and enjoyed it until this episode.
ReplyDeleteThe reason she was happy was because she's INSANE, she stole a dead woman's ring, a woman SHE killed, and was PRETENDING there was a fiance. ReplyDeleteAgreed. I watch all the DC shows and I'm excited for everyone of them
ReplyDeleteIf I remember correctly they had their powers before they met each other.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Devil came down, not before. "Destiny" was halted for 7 years so the Messengers weren't being called yet.
ReplyDeleteReally good episode! I loved how it cleared up the story so far and reset the board.
ReplyDeleteAlso how they handled in presenting the exposition was very good!
I agree they overdo it with contrived storytelling, and relying too much on everything coincidental being "fate" but eh... I don't think it's a show that you can take too seriously, so I can look past it.

ReplyDeleteI totally get it. There are just some shows you expect more from.
ReplyDeleteI guess for me this isn't one of them.

ReplyDeleteI meant in the pilot they got their powers and then met each other
