Regarding Mr. Robot - I have read a lot of positive non spoilery comments from those who have already watched the premiere and yesterday Sepinwall and Todd (both have watched the second episode too) gave it a thumbs up. After the bitter disappointment that is Complications, I am quite excited about Mr. Robot being a good show.
yeh, the pilot was great, but it might be a niche type of show though. But hopefully it does not follow the pattern of using the same formula over and over again and we get nothing out of it like their other shows.
Yeah I've had the Mr Robot pilot download for a while but haven't been that inclined to watch but seeing the positive reviews from those critics has moved it to my watch list.
It is German and they are hardcoded, its being aired on Sundance TV in the US. I found it a bit hard to get the first episode - it aired last Wednesday but didn't show up on download sites until Sunday. But so far its very enjoyable and actually picks up from where The Americans ended last season - with Reagan's Evil Empire speech. An East German Army officers gets forced into going undercover in West Germany to get intelligence.
Thanks. Just checked for the download versions (for international viewers) and looks like there are very few available. Anyways, will have to do with the ones available.
Watched a few minutes of the first episode. Oh boy!!! The hard coded subtitles are small, white (sometimes indecipherable from the background) and go by way too fast. Hope Sundance does something about the subtitles. I have to ask, do we miss something important just because we are trying way too hard to see and keep up with the sub titles at the same time?
Anyways, will watch the whole episode later on after I am free.
Yeah the subtitles aren't ideal, I think I'm so used to how shows like The Americans and The Bridge present them. I found it OK to keep up with, though I really had to focus. I hope it doesn't put you off too much.
Neither of the above. I will continue my third marathon. Just finished the first two and loved: Scandal and Person of Interest. Watching now Breaking Bad - Aww
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Suits only, since i watched the first episode of Mr.Robot.
ReplyDeleteSuits and Mr. Robot.

ReplyDeleteMr Robot and Deutschland 83 (Fans of The Americans need to watch this!)
ReplyDeleteIt's in German, right? Will English subs be hard coded or do we have to go searching for them?
ReplyDeleteI watched Mr. Robot and this is my new show for the summer

ReplyDeleteI'm still surprised a broadcast network hasn't tried to copy this series formula as it's one of the most intriguing shows on TV.
