Part A
Part B
Part C
Penny Dreadful:
***Nominated by SGU - This is the type of show that horror TV needs more of. It has extraordinary acting, beautiful visuals and music, and fantastic story-lines. The show isn't afraid to do things other shows wouldn't which makes it dark and unique in many ways. It has no problem devoting entire episodes to build characters and unlike most shows where those kind of episodes break momentum, on Penny Dreadful they are episodes to look forward to. It tells its stories slowly, gradually building to an ending that never disappoints but keeping you entertained with twists and awe inspiring moments along the way.
Perception:
***Nominated by Carol Rath - It is a show with a hopeful outlook for people with mental illness.
***Nominated by Dahne - While Perception is a typical crime procedural, the main character, Daniel, sticks out. He suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and often times cannot tell if things are a hallucination or reality. He helps FBI agent Kate solve crimes that have a neurological component and she helps him function more normally in society. Unlike Monk, which also deals with a crime solver with mental issues, Perception is not a comedy. It does have some humor in it, but it is more like Numb3rs where the viewer learns something while the case unfolds. As a neurology professor, Daniel's opening and ending monologues to his class are often as fascinating as the cases themselves.
Person of Interest:
***Nominated by Linda - In the simplest of descriptions, Person of Interest is a fascinating show that in the beginning was about a team of just two people who, with the help of an all-seeing, all-hearing machine, helped save a person in peril each week. But the twist was, they didn’t know if the social security number they received was that of the victim or the perp! Frankly, there is nothing simple about Person of Interest (also known as POI). It’s a show that asks you to pay attention because very often even the smallest details can be important. In that regard, it’s a show like Lost where you want to hang around “the water cooler” the next day or find a group on Facebook so you can discuss it with others. POI just wrapped up season 4. This is such an intelligent, dynamic, and “out of the ordinary” show for network TV that it’s best to start at the beginning if you haven’t watched it yet. In the fall you will be able to do so on WGN or Netflix streaming. (Or you can buy or rent seasons 1 – 3 on DVDs right now.) POI began as a procedural but has since become much more serialized….with character development and references back to earlier episodes, the addition of another more powerful machine, warring factions in the city like The Brotherhood and Elias with his deadly crew, recurring characters that add humor and pathos, and the addition of a magnificent dog! In my opinion, there’s something for everyone here: GREAT writing, directing, acting, photography and settings. Yes, there’s sex and violence but most of it is inferred, not shown….no rivers of blood and guts or naked backsides. And how can you go wrong with actors like Michael Emerson (Lost), Jim Caviezel (The Passion of the Christ), Taraji P. Henson (Empire), and Amy Acker (Much Ado about Nothing)? Did I mention the GREAT writers? Incredibly, they were writing about an NSA-type surveillance system a year BEFORE Edward Snowden came on the scene! A show that was considered science fiction quickly became science fact! For so many reasons, I can almost guarantee you’ll be adding this one to your list of favorite TV shows once you start watching.
***Nominated by Jon - - POI created complex, layered characters with whom the audience can sympathize. They're humans; they feel real. The show does an amazing job at portraying the dark side that exists in each of us and finds the right balance between dark and light. POI is the definition of a world of grey. We can root for the bad guys, because the bad guys are not cartoonish villains: they have motivations, a past often explained, they are capable of mercy and love, they're as interesting as our heroes.
- POI uses flashbacks brilliantly. In some other shows, flashbacks become boring really fast. With POI, they never do: flashbacks explain the construction of the Machine (central to this show), they explain the characters' past and motivations, and more importantly, they are never irrelevant or pointless. They contribute to the show's mythology and background.
- The casting is A+. Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson, Amy Acker, Taraji P. Henson, Sarah Shahi and Kevin Chapman are all perfectly cast and they're extremely talented.
- This show is not about romance/love interests. Yet, it does not mean that there is not love between certain characters. Mostly, love is a background thing, but the characters have more important things to do than to focus on their love life. The life they lead is dangerous, so it leaves little time/space for romance.
- The story arcs. One might be fooled by the procedural aspect of the show in the first two seasons (okay, the 1st especially) but the show keeps building and building mythology and story arcs that pay off in a big way. (One story arc starts in season 1 and ends in season 3; another starts in season 2 and is still on-going).
- POI has both POC and LGBT representation.
- POI has neuro-atypical protagonists and they are portrayed consistently as such. It does not make them less of a person or under-used.
- The writers are brilliant and they value their audience: they've said on a number of occasions that they do consider their audience to be smart so they allow themselves to throw lots of references in their show, knowing the audience will make the connections.
- They rarely, if ever, go the obvious road. Some things you never see coming, much less imagine it could happen.
- POI tricked everyone into thinking their show was another procedural on CBS, but it evolved into more sci-fi territory with its third season.
- They actually manage to make you care and worry about an Artificial Intelligence.
- The directing/editing is splendid. Some episodes are out of this world (most recently, 4.11 "If-Then-Else"). The lighting, the scenery... all of it contributes to making POI such a great show.
- The quotes! Some quotes are truly wonderful and will speak to you.
- The show was created by Jonathan Nolan (Christopher's brother), Greg Plageman, and J.J Abrams, a dream team, basically. They are very involved with their show and they have the ending planned down to the last song they'll use. Which leads me to my next point...
- POI does not wander around. The show knows where it's going. Granted, the first season does a lot of set-up and is mostly focused on our protagonists saving people (number-of-the-week cases) yet this season is vital to understand who the characters are, where they come from and how/why they will evolve the way they do.
- Great soundtracks and choices of songs! I'm sure many of you are familiar with Ramin Djawadi who's the compositor for Game of Thrones' soundtracks? Well, he is for POI as well.
- The recurring characters are very likeable, too, and great actors (I'm thinking Paige Turco and Enrico Colantoni for example).
- You like badass female characters who take no s*** from anyone? POI is for you!
Seriously, check it out. You will not be disappointed if you stick with it. Maybe it'll take you some time to get into it but you can binge-watch the show so that's a plus! Once you're into it, there's no going back and you'll love it. Join us!
***Nominated by Joanna Bain - Person of Interest is the only remaining show I actually watch on network television. From its humble story beginnings amongst the procedural crime show lineup on CBS, Person of Interest has, over the course of four intense seasons, truly come into its own to become one of the most dynamic and subversive shows on television. Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson shine as an almost “Batman and Alfred” duo, joined by the brilliant support cast Kevin Chapman, Taraji P. Henson, Amy Acker, and Sarah Shahi - fighting crime and saving innocents in New York City. With its underlying science-fiction basis, however, it is so much more than that. Artificial intelligences at war, issues with public safety and privacy, corrupt cops turned good, honorable cops gone rogue, government betrayals, computer hacking at its finest, sassy government assassins, unexpected romances, witty dialogue, and the best gunfights, hand-to-hand combat, car chases, and explosions that you will see outside of a cinema, are all things of Interest has it all. With cheer-worthy characters and seamless, season-to-season story growth and development, Person of Interest is the ultimate binge-watch show. Prepare to be blown away.
Primeval:
***Nominated by Freda - This is a British series about rips in time allowing creatures from the past (or future) to enter into our world. A group of scientists team up to track and defend England from these creatures. The series accurately describes geological time. For instance, a creature pops out and someone is like, "OMG! A dinosaur!" and one of the scientist will be like, "Well, it's actually from this period so it can't be a dinosaur. It's blah" Honestly, I liked season 1 and 2, but somewhere in the middle of season 2 or 3 the series does something and it changes everything. Due to this change, it highlights the more enjoyable major side characters and the series really takes off. It had incredibly loyal fans while it ran, but it was not very well known here in the states. British fans brought it back from cancellation. It is similar to Doctor Who (fighting creatures through time) and Leverage (Character Dynamic). Trailer
Prison Break:
***Nominated by omabin - This is the show that started my love for all shows. It was the first thing I watched for real (not the occasional/ casual episode on TV) and I got totally hooked on it. From then, it never stopped. That is to say I am pretty attached to the show for emotional reasons but, that aside, I also happen to think it is an excellent television show, and certainly one of my all time favorites. Best reason to watch: Those damn adrenaline rushes that will make your heart stop working for a few second while watching, the amazing twists in the storyline, the incredible relationships that are developed - particularly the brotherly relationship that is the heart and core of the show, the twists and heart stopping sequences (Again because they are worth mentioning), and I don't think there is a show quite like this on TV. Caveats: The quality of some of the late season isn't as good as the first one. I personally loved Season 4A as well and I thought Season 3 had its nice moments too, but 4B really wasn't that much my cup of tea and in general the consensus of the fandom is pretty much that the first couple of seasons are superior to the two later ones. This being said, I think that even an inferior Prison Break is good, so that's something. Appealing to fans of: The Walking Dead (for the heart stopping moments), 24 (from what people tell me, I've never actually saw 24), Dexter in a way, and I personally think this has potential to appeal to comic book shows fans despite the differences in themes
Reign:
***Nominated by Lori - If you like historical fantasy with a Gossip Girl twist, then Reign is for you. Set during the 16th century, the young Mary, Queen of Scots, played by Adelaide Kane, must navigate her marriage to Francis, played by Toby Regbo, through troubled waters as well as negotiate alliances and treaties for two nations while trying to secure a third, England. During the upcoming third season Mary will be up against her mother-in-law, Catherine de Medici, played by the incomparable Megan Follows, and Queen Elizabeth I, played by Rachel Skarsten. Reign has thought provoking drama, compelling characters, outstanding costumes, and an amazing cast.
Revenge:
***Nominated by Goodbye Revenge - Revenge will have you addicted in seconds. From the first few seconds of the first episode the audience is filled with intrigue and excitement. The beautiful Emily VanCamp stars as the beguiling Emily Thorne who seeks revenge upon Victoria and Conrad Grayson and all those who had a part in her father's demise. VanCamp perfectly portrays a woman corrupted by her need for revenge. The fact that Emily is not a perfect saint is what makes the show interesting. Both VanCamp and Madeleine Stowe (Victoria) are phenomenal actresses who truly fit the part. Madeleine Stowe masterfully portrays an evil woman however through her acting and writing the audience can sometimes see a woman who only acted on her maternal instincts to protect the ones she loved- something many would do. Not only are these two actresses amazing but the supporting cast is also excellent including Gabriel Mann as the eccentric billionaire Nolan Ross, Henry Czerny as the rich Conrad Grayson, Nick Wechsler as Jack Porter and many more. Gabriel Mann's character provides the show with a refreshing, quirky, humorous character. The plot is as exciting as any show gets. My motto for the show is expect the unexpected. Revenge is filled with so many twists and turns you will never see what's coming until it hits you and in that moment you'll realize what a special show this truly is. However the plot isn't the only great thing about the show. The writing done for the show is perfect! Most episodes are accompanied with a voiceover which goes with the episode title. These voiceovers (excellently written by the Revenge writing staff) give the audience insight as to what's going on in the mind of Emily Thorne. Through a series of flashbacks to Emily's youth, the audience learns about what transformed an innocent, young girl into a vindictive, dark girl who will do anything to exact revenge. Another amazing element to Revenge is the attire the cast wears. Jill Ohanneson, the costume designer, makes everybody looks terrific with clothes ranging from beautiful dresses to dark "revenge-y" clothes. Fil Eisler composes beautiful music which perfectly matches with the scenes. So if you're looking for a drama to start watching, this is definitely your show.
***Nominated by Missions - Revenge ended just a month ago and I am already missing it. While I was able to let go happily, it will always be missing on my Sunday Prime Time schedule. Right away, in the first moment of the series, I knew that I would love this show. It was tradition to start every season with a flash-forward which was always very intriguing. This show will definitely warm your heart. It features everything a drama-thriller-mystery-soap opera needs to be perfect: great fighting scenes (!!), deaths that will make you cry and leave you depressed for days and shocking cliffhangers that will make it impossible to wait for the next episode! The season finales are incredibly well done and are more exciting than many other shows’ finales. I myself binge watched the first two seasons and I loved it. If I were able, I would relive that whole rollercoaster ride again. Never have I been so connected to a main character. Emily Thorne is just incredible! She is bad-ass but weak on the other hand. I always felt for her!! In addition, Emily VanCamp has given some of the best performances followed by Madeleine Stowe who is just amazing. Personally, I thought there was no way to stop watching. While it did have its weak episodes and season(s), it was a great series. The writing was very inconsistent and at times not very good. However, it did not bother me at all because they always and I mean always came up with something that changed my mind. Fortunately, it has complete closure which makes it easier to watch until the end! During the four years, it became a part of my life. The cast felt like my family! Now, since they are gone, something is missing. So if you are bored in the summer, watch Emily Thorne’s journey! Even now I still rewatch certain scenes and episodes many, many times!!
Review:
***Nominated by Luana - This show is a lot of fun. Even if it has its dramatic moments, it's a comedy through and through. The way they make it seem as if it happened in real life gives it a special touch, and the naivety of the character who writes reviews about life itself gives it a bit of social study vibe that's just hilarious.
Rookie Blue:
***Nominated by Kelly - It's an amazing cop show with drama, the actors are amazing, and the story lines are so good. My favorite show without a doubt
***Nominated by Majda - I love the teamwork in Rookie Blue and the romance and friendship they have in and out .... oh, and there is McSwarek in Rookie Blue ...and Oliver Shaw.
Scandal:
***Nominated by Nathalie - Scandal is about a young, beautiful and powerful black lady having an epic, difficult, devastating, and incandescent love affair with an older, idealistic, romantic, Republican, married, white president.
Secrets And Lies:
***Nominated by Nancy - This is the best series if you love drama, mysteries, and some comedy. I recommend this.
***Nominated by SGU - Going into this show I wasn't expecting to get as sucked into the mystery as I did. Every episode gave new answers and new questions which kept it entertaining through the whole season. The cast worked great together and I loved the lead character played by Ryan Phillippe. I ended up anticipating the next episode as soon as the last one ended and the season as a whole was a fun thrill ride, well worth the watch and I look forward to season 2.
Selfie:
***Nominated by Freda - So, this series is not for everyone. The first part of the series is really hit and miss and the cheesy humor might not be for everyone. This horribly named series is about a social-media obsessed shallow character, who was bullied as a kid, trying to be rebranded into a human being who empathizes with people and makes social connections she couldn't as a kid. The series is actually pretty anti-selfie. It is a statement about stepping away from the instant gratification and virtual sense of self-worth of a fake online world we get sucked into, to find real people in the real world. In several episodes (mostly later ones), the show does this with a lot of heart and corny-as-hell lines. Some of the middle and beginning episodes might be a little too over the top, especially in regards to the main female character. However, the last episodes more than make up for it in my book. The last episode really accomplishes what the series set out to do - show that you don't have to hide behind vapid, social media look-at-me selfies to feel loved. If you can accept yourself and love yourself, you will find more happiness than in a million selfies. The series was cancelled after its first season. Selfie -- I will miss you. Trailer
Sense8:
***Nominated by Jasmin - This show blew my mind immediately. The scope of the production, the breadth and the lengths that the writers and producers took to create the scenes were the factors I noticed first. They filmed this show in a bunch of different locations: Mumbai, Iceland, London, Chicago, Kenya, and Seoul. It's insane and even in these different locations, these characters aren't glorified. They're individuals in these cities and you can tell that they're living with others because of the interactions with other characters and the scope of the scenes. I mean you start to wonder whether people were extras and if they weren't, how did they all end up there? Long story short, this show went above and beyond. The story line flowed together, the character development was insane, and above all was the representation of people. People will comment about this when talking about this show: the conversations about life, death, and presentation of the self (discussed heavily by the transgendered character played by Jamie Clayton). The scenes don't feel fake or acted out. They feel real, so real, so extraordinarily real that everything feels raw and new. In simpler terms, it's the Game of Thrones of the Sci-Fi world. It's amazing. It needs a Season 2. There's so much that can be explored with the characters and the abilities and the science behind everything. There's still so much that we need to see. Watch this show! You'll get sucked into it before you know it. The first episode is a hooker.
***Nominated by SGU - There are so many great things to say about this show I don't where to start. First I'll say it's format is probably a little different to what people are used to. It's first season, which is all it has so far, feels more like a 12 hour movie rather than an episodic series. As a result it's slow in the beginning but gets exponentially better as it goes on. The show has a large cast but no one is wasted, all serve a purpose and each have their own individual stories to be told as well a story for them all to share. The basic premise is that 8 people are all suddenly linked to each other, able to share memories, thoughts and even experiences in real time. This allows for some very interesting scenes which I won't go into detail about (no spoilers!). The characters come from all walks of life. If this isn't the most diverse show out there I don't know what is. It has everything you could possibly ask for: a great cast, great visuals, deep and complex characters, and superb action. It really is the whole package.
Stalker:
***Nominated by Carol Rath - It is an eye opener.
***Nominated by Dahne - No lie. I hated the pilot of Stalker. I thought it a torture porn, shock thriller with nothing to add to the TV conversation. Still I like to give shows 3 episodes to prove themselves because many pilots aren't that good. I am glad that I decided to give it a chance because it turned into a great show and by far the most improved from its pilot this season. It has the violence of Criminal Minds or The Following but it isn't anything worse than those so I'm not sure why, besides the pilot, it got such a bad reputation. What I really loved about this show was the main character, Beth. That in itself is unusual since I tend to prefer secondary characters but Beth is a rarity. She's a kick butt women who is allowed to be vulnerable too. She is undeniably tough but her past is of such horrors that it would break anyone. Basically an ex-boyfriend set a fire that killed her entire family and now she's living under a new name as a detective specializing in stalker cases. While there is a stalker of the week format, the serialized elements involving Beth begin fairly quickly and eventually become the focus of the show. Stalker was cancelled after one season, but all plot points were wrapped up so no need to fear a cliffhanger.
And we're back. Has anyone started any shows pitched in the previous segments? Any here that inspire you to try them out?
ReplyDeleteThe last segment comes tomorrow. Until then, happy TV viewing.
Great pitch for Stalker, I too ended up really enjoying the season. I agree about Beth she was a really good character, and Maggie played it well. And I was never really a fan of hers, I wasn't a fan of Nikita. But I also enjoyed Jacks character a lot too. I love Dylan M, I always have liked his acting. But all the other main characters were fairly interesting too. Its really to bad it got auch a bad reputation so quick, it might of done better if not for the critics.
ReplyDeletePRIMEVAL!!! I never thought I'd see this show on any list! Not on STV at least. This show was fun and the special effects were pretty decent. Worth the watch.
ReplyDeleteNo new shows for me today, because I've seen most of them.
My favorite Person of Interest, Sense8 took me a few episodes, but I liked it in the end, Prison Break is also a favorite of mine, I grinned like an idiot everytime Captain Cold and Heatwave were together in The Flash.
I have to finish Revenge, one and a half season. I liked the first season of Reign, haven't watched the 2nd one yet.
Two shows I nominated up there today :) Here's what I have to say on a few others:
ReplyDeletePenny Dreadful - My pitch is up there already, it won't be for everyone but I hope people check it out, those who like it will love it.
Secrets and Lies - I loved the suspense and mystery of this show, the great acting made me enjoy it more as well.
Sense8 - My pitch is up there for this too. Absolutely in love with this show. I love the way Jasmin described it; "The scenes don't feel fake or acted out. They feel real, so real, so extraordinarily real that everything feels raw and new.", great line :)
I watched both Prison Break and Primeval for a while but then dropped them. Prison Break might be one I go back to at some point, especially with a revival coming up. Primeval I enjoyed but knew it was cancelled and just decided to not keep going with it. Perception sounds fascinating, I'll give that one a go. I'm still watching Bates Motel which I discovered thanks to a previous segment, it's really enjoyable.
Thanks again for doing this Dahne :)
Oh revenge! You will go down in history for me❤ i am Glad scandal ans secrets and lies were both nominated
ReplyDeleteJack was actually the only character I didn 't like on the show. I think it's because he was clearly a stalker in the beginning but they swept that away like it never happened. I also did not care for Beth and Jack hooking up. I really liked Beth though and Janice was one of my favorite new characters even if she didn't get as much development. I wish the critics had given this show a chance because they took the police procedural and gave it an interesting twist.
ReplyDeleteI wish i still had revenge left to watch!!! It is such a rollercoaster ride
ReplyDeleteIf you have a pitch for Secrets and Lies, I'd love to patch it in so I can use a bigger picture. No worries if you don't though.
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is that i Would love to do it but it is 3:30 am in germany and i just happened to wake up :D but i have to go back to sleep now. So sorry
ReplyDeleteI only saw a couple episodes of the original Primeval, but I loved the Canadian sequel from last year. It got cancelled after 1 season but I thought it was well worth it. I like to think of Perception like Numb3rs. It's a police procedural with brains. I liked how Daniel is so smart and yet because of his disease, he doesn't really fit in at the university. Plus Max is awesome.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a pitch for Secrets And Lies, I'd love to add it in to get a bigger picture. No worries if you don't though. I would do it but it's still on my list to finish - hopefully before i get spoiled about the ending.
I need to check out "Penny Dreadful". That show sounds like something that'd be right up my alley.
ReplyDeleteI also really want to get started watching "Person of Interest", too. Everything I've heard about that show has me incredibly curious.
I know what you mean. I have a few shows that when a friend watches them for the first time, I get jealous for not being able to experience that again. The good thing is I'm like a walking TV encyclopedia, everyone asks me stuff they don't understand, or when they want to know spoilers.
ReplyDeleteI was delighted to have Primeval nominated. It's a show I had never heard about until I started tweeting the Canadian sequel last year. I think it is right up SpoilerTV's alley though.
ReplyDeleteMy husband didn't like Jack either, I don't know. I wouldn't of called him a Stalker really. His intentions were good and not supposed to come off creepy. But Amanda knew he was there pretty quick so it didn't go on for to long. I really like Amanda too, and whata her name at the end who takes over for Beth. Lol I forget. I didn't mind the relationship wirh Beth and Jack cause it started out as an attraction, and a dislike and then grew to a friendship, and then romance. If they would of given it a chance, they probably would of pushed that part of the story off till next season.
ReplyDeleteTotally understand! I am wondering if I can go to bed now too. It's 8:30 pm here and even thinking about it makes me feel like a grandma, but I was up way too late last night and I have work early tomorrow. Sweet TV dreams to you!
ReplyDeleteYeah, but I was surpised because it's not a very popular show, and it ended a few years ago. But it's great to see it here, and there aren't many episodes, it's good for binge-watching.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling you're going to hear a whole lot more about PoI before this summer is done. :-) I really liked the first season of it. More than most others it seems, but I have never disliked procedurals so I was good with that format.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you are tired! Some sleep would probably not be bad for you. And sheet dreams to you as well! :)
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest and Prison Break are already on my watch list. They both look interesting.
ReplyDeleteI watched the first two episodes of The 100, and I can't decide if I like it or not. I like Clarke (and Octavia's not bad either), but none of the guys interest me. I've heard that it gets better so I will watch a few more episodes before I decide if it's for me or not.
If you are bored in the Summer, watch revenge! It is such a great show to watch in the summer as well since it takes place in thr hamptons, and always in the summer. It is such a fun but crazy ride. I cannot even tell you thr amount of heart pounding that show created within me. One time, I thought I was going to have a heart-attack
ReplyDeleteWouldn't surprise me :D. It's clearly got a very devoted fanbase on here, and the more I learn about shows I'm interested in checking out, the better, so bring on the conversation!
ReplyDeleteI can work with most TV formats if the story and characters are interesting enough, so yeah, that wouldn't bother me, either. And even if the procedural format was an issue for me, knowing that the series does move into more unpredictable territory and ties stuff from the first season into storylines happening a couple seasons later would make working through that part of the series' run worth it :).
The 100 gets better after episode 4 or 5, if you're not hooked by then, then maybe it's not for you. It picks up the pace later on and never, ever stops.
ReplyDeleteI didn't bother with the Canadian version either, shame it was cancelled as well though since I loved Niall Matter from Eureka. The police procedural part is what might turn me off Perception but it's the mental illness part that's got me interested. You don't see characters like that often. I just looked it up too and it was cancelled, I'll still try it though.
ReplyDeleteHere's an on the spot pitch for Secret and Lies:
Going into this show I wasn't expecting to get as sucked into the mystery as I did.
I hope that's long enough :)
I hope you like Penny Dreadful if you try it, it's currently my 2nd favourite show of all time.
ReplyDeleteIf anybody is looking for a new drama to watch, Revenge is the show for you!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks to Dahne for organizing this!
Thank you so much! I was able to enlarge the picture so it's the same size as the rest.
ReplyDeletePerception is pretty much 100% procedural so I could see it being a dealbreaker for you. No need to worry about it being cancelled though. There's no cliffhanger and everything is resolved. They knew the show was being cancelled beforehand.
Thanks for nominating.
ReplyDeleteI thought Jack came off really creepy at first but Amanda did catch on quickly. I was a fan of Vicki as well. I was surprised because they really did her transition in well. She made it clear that she wasn't replacing Beth and she had connections that really helped them. She was truly an ally instead of an adversary. Smart move! My only problem with her is that it seemed a little odd that 2 people running the department would end up having killer exes. At that point I figured they were stalker magnets.
ReplyDeleteMost of these shows I've already watched or added to my watch list so the only new additions tonight are Perception and Sense8.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Perception and I didn't pay much attention to Sense8 when it came out on Netflix but the pitches have piqued my interest.
...and the watch list grows....
We really had some good variety in the nominations. It was a pleasant surprise because there were a few shows I had never even heard of.
ReplyDelete...and grows and grows. I'm beginning to think mine is Audrey 2, constantly telling me to feed it.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that the most popular shows here keep changing. There's an ebb and flow that is fun to watch over the years even if people complain about it no matter which show is taking the lead.
ReplyDeleteSome shows I actually prefer the procedural elements. That's definitely true about Grimm and for me, Person of Interest too. It is well written and the characters are dynamic.
Agree with Aylass01 - the first three episodes are a little rough, four improves and episode five, Twilight's Last Gleaming", is still my favorite episode of the series.
ReplyDeleteWhen I think about where Clarke and Octavia's characters are at the end of S2 compared to those first few episodes, it's like completely different people. The character development on this show is phenomenal!
Glad we could get you interested in Sense8 :)
ReplyDeleteFor me, there was a shock at the end of episode 3 that made me keep watching. Then episode 4 went very dark. Episode 5 is still my favorite episode and I was hooked after that one. As for the guys, season 1 is huge for Bellamy development. Many people started out hating him but by the end he was a lot of people's favorite. I would say stick ut out until at least 1.05 and if you aren't hooked by then, you gave it a fair try,
ReplyDeleteLOL!! I am going to think of that every time I add a show now!
ReplyDeleteFEEEEDDD MEEEEEE
Kristen and I are doing a new The 100 podcast and we were just saying the same thing when we reviewed the pilot. It's amazing to go back and watch these characters from the beginning. None of them are anything like they were back then. In such a short time they have grown so much as to be unrecognizable in the pilot. Some for the better and some for the worse. It's almost like in the first 3 episodes they were trying to be what they thought The CW wanted them to be and by episode 4 they said screw it and made their own show. Episode 5 is one of my all-time favorite episodes, period. I was so touched by the situation on the Ark.
ReplyDeleteI'd highly recommend Secret and Lies, it's a show full of compelling story telling suspense and great acting, led by Ryan Phillipe and Julliette Lewis I want ruin the ending cause you'll never see it coming, if you want a show that keeps you on the edge of your seat this is it, and the upcoming arc is going to be amazing with Michael Ealy, Julliette Lewis as Cornell is worth watching alone, she's the one you're gonna love to hate she's amazing!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've tried all of these I believe, except for Sense8. I will add it to my list.
ReplyDeleteI still watch Penny Dreadful and Prison Break.
PB had my favorite complete first season of TV of all of my fav shows. I don't think there was a bad episode in the bunch.
The rest are not for me but those are some well thought out nominations.
"It's almost like in the first 3 episodes they were trying to be what they thought The CW wanted them to be and by episode 4 they said screw it and made their own show."
ReplyDeleteFunny you should mention that - I remember thinking the same thing after watching the original airing and when I pitch it to friends and family, I usually say that in response to the eye rolls that inevitably follow after I tell them it's on The CW. After that surprise at the end of Episode 3, I knew this wasn't going to be the usual CW fare...but that still didn't prepare me for episode five. I can't think of many network shows that would be that bold!
I can't wait to finish this show, especially if people are so satisfied with the ending. I've seen almost half of it and it's on my schedule to watch in July.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't seen Prison Break but it's on my list too. I will probably check out a couple of episodes of Rookie Blue when it's on marathon. I think Ion recently picked it up.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that The CW still has a crummy reputation because they haven't been that kind of a network for years now. I still get a lot of prejudice about CW shows too. I think The 100 is the most bold show I watch. H2GAwM is similar but no way they would have gone where episodes 3 and 4 went. Episode 4 was outright chilling to me as was episode 5 except in a whole new way. I expected a last minute save in episode 5 and from that point on I knew we were dealing with a whole new set of rules, ones I wasn't always going to like but which I respect like crazy.
ReplyDeleteYou, are gonna love it my jaw dropped at that ending, very well done!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for nominating it. It's clear that you love this show and I think passion like that is catching.
ReplyDeleteHey guys, quick plea. Does anyone watch Wayward Pines and want to right a short pitch for it? I am so far behind I can't really do it myself even though I love what I've seen so far.
ReplyDeleteHere you go:
ReplyDelete"This being one of the first shows of the Summer I went into it not expecting much, just something to pass the time until more shows started. It turned out to be such a unique show filled with mystery and twists that you will never see coming, and I mean that, it has so many truly jaw dropping moments. Especially episode 5, when we finally get some answers. Matt Dillon is great in the lead role and it some great, but creepy, characters too. Overall a great twisty and suspenseful show with it's fair share of creepy moments."
I really need to get a 'TV addict and proud badge'.
Agreed :). It's nice to see a variety of shows get the spotlight, and see series that have cult fandoms finally get their moment. It's also exciting when the new shows premiere and we can see which ones will be the breakout hits.
ReplyDeleteI actually never even heard the word "procedural" growing up, that I can recall, at least. Any crime dramas that were on TV were just referred to as that-"crime dramas". I didn't realize how strongly, and often negatively, people felt about the procedural genre until I came online and talked TV shows with other people, or read comments from TV critics about those kinds of shows. I understand in some ways why people can't get into that genre in general, but I do think it's a shame regardless when people just automatically dismiss ANY procedurals, because as you note, some series can make that setup work quite well. It's like how people refuse to watch any comedy with a laugh track. I understand if somebody finds those annoying, but heck, some of the most classic comedies out there had laugh tracks. A good show can override any negative aspects certain types of programming can bring.
The characters in "Person of Interest" definitely sound fascinating to me. One reason of many why I want to check out this show.
That's high praise! I tend to love weird stuff like that, so I'd be surprised if I didn't find something to like about it. But yeah, I'll check it out and get back to you with my thoughts :).
ReplyDeleteWe've created a monster!
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest is high on my watchlist so if everything checks out, I will start it this summer. Revenge is also on it and Scandal is a maybe. Perception sounds interesting, might add it to the list as well.
ReplyDeleteI think my watchlist is growing fast and it will be hard to watch everything. There's just too many good TV shows these days.
Person of Interest is amazing.
ReplyDeleteWhen do you need it for? I might be able to send something in by tomorrow night....
ReplyDeleteI didn't like Jack either. My favorite character was Janice and then Beth. It always felt to me that Jack still had a thing for Amanda, or at least that's how I read it. I wish Stalker had been given a fair chance to prove itself, but it feels like the decision to cancel it was made pretty early anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe twist at the end of episode 3 is also what definitely got my attention. I thought "no effing way whaaaaaat".
ReplyDeleteI think in general people don't have problems with procedurals but people who come on the internet to talk about TV often do, if that makes any sense. It's the same reason why many shows that don't have many viewers or hav poor ratings are often the most talked about and most popular online. I think online TV websites attract a different crowd than the general TV audience. Here sci-fi is particularly hot where that's not always the case out in the real world. For me I have a hard time with medical dramas but the only type of shows I tend to dismiss out of hand are ones where I knew the sex, nudity, violence, or language is often and gratuitous. Other than that, I try to give each new show a chance. Scratch that...I hate all reality contest shows so if anyone is being voted off or if there is a loser, I'm out of there.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Now I should be able to get a decent picture up of it as well. I think we all deserve badges for being such awesome TV conversationalists.
ReplyDeleteI will post in 10-11 hours likely, so if you have a nomination by then please let me know. Don't worry if you don't because I have the length I need for a decent picture now. I appreciate the offer though.
ReplyDeleteScandal, at least season 1, is addicting. It's not even my kind of show but I found myself needing to watch one more episode each time and ended up watching it in 2 days. I'm glad people are interested in Perception. It was often overshadowed by the more known TNT shows but I liked it as well or better than most of those. I feel your watchlist pain.
ReplyDeleteI definitely got a lot of nominations and it is doing very well on this site right now.
ReplyDeleteI also have POI in my to watch list: I gave up on it early on the day when it was mostly procedurial, but I have heard so many great things about it and how it becomes an amazing show that I have to give it a second chance. At the very least, I'll get through season 1, like I did with AoS (which I now like, whereas I hated it during the first half of season 1).
ReplyDeleteAs for Revenge, I'm a pretty big fan of it. The first 3 seasons were amazing. Season 4 has its ups and downs, but as a whole it brings the whole thing to a satisfying ending. That being said, the ending of season 3 could have been the series finale if it wasn't for a couple of cliffhanger, so there is always the option to stop there and leave everything else as an open ending. But if you keep through season 4 you'll have a wonderful time with some episodes, though there will be some that will be very dull, so now you know.
And Scandal... well, season 2 was the best, season 3 was passable, and the first half of season 4 was reaching season 2 quality but the second half absolutely bombed quality wise (as such its ratings declines become more understandable). I would wait to see if season 5 is able to reverse the downfall lead by season 4B, if not, there is the possibility Scandal will never be good again, and I wouldn't jump in a show that hasn't recovered creatively.
Glad to see my pitch for POI made it. I was afraid it was a bit long.
ReplyDeleteFor those interested, here are a few videos to give you an idea of what POI's about (obvious spoilers if you haven't watched the show yet):
- POI's badass female characters (and that's not even all of them): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdL1T-aaI-k
- Fanmade trailer of season 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0jlDfqYXjE
- Some humorous bits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6LPj_oEc-I
- In my pitch I mentioned the great use of flashbacks. Here's one of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhWe2nf24ag
I hope those make you want to watch!
Penny Dreadful is more than just a show. It's art.
ReplyDeleteEvery episode and i mean every episode in revenge season 3 and season 4 ends on some Kind of cliffhanger and in season 1 and 2 most of them do to. Binge watching it, will be so awesome!!!!! It will seem even more fast paced than it was
ReplyDeleteIt's funny because a major part of Scandal revolves around the forbidden love story between Olivia and Fitz, and it turns out it's the most boring thing of the whole show. The back and forth is tiring and I'm not sure how I feel about Fitz. To me he's like 30% a good guy and 70% an annoying prick.
ReplyDeleteBut it's a show I'd recommend if people like fast-paced show, action and government conspiracies.
Tyrant is a great summer series that just started its second season this week. It's produced by Howard Gordon who also does 24 and Homeland, and the style is very similar. The setting is a modern day country in the Middle East that is ruled by a dictator. The dynamics of the royal family, the political intrigue, the acting by lead character Jamal, and the production values (beautifully filmed in Israel) are all outstanding! Watch season 1 first (10 episodes), and then jump right into it now!
ReplyDeleteGreat pitches for Person Of Interest! Thanks to everyone who took the time to write them! Here's a fan-made trailer of the show: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HGb8juxyklY I hope it compels you to watch!
ReplyDeleteGreat shows here! Glad to see you pimped Stalker! I would pimp Suits (Seasons 1-3) on here, as well as Psych (all of it).
ReplyDeleteI started POI recently, and I'm really liking it so far. I'm sure that you will too!
ReplyDeleteI have heard great things about PoI so I'm definitely looking forward to it. Plus, Michael Emerson played my favourite character on Lost and he is a brilliant actor.
ReplyDeleteIf I get to Revenge, I would just watch all seasons. Either you stick with a show or not but I don't watch half shows.
It's because of Scandal's mixed reception that I am unsure of it. Oh well, it's not on the top of my list anyway.
I have heard about Perception but never took the time to figure out what it was about. But from your pitch it sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteI know you're a big fan. It sounds like a great series.
ReplyDeleteHey guys, one more favor. Would anyone write a short pitch for any of the following shows. They are nominated but are too short for a picture right now. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteSwitched at Birth
Under the Dome
The Vampire Diaries
and maybe You're the Worst
Great pitch for Person Of Interest ! , a very intelligent written show with outstanding actors
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. I'm glad you checked it out, especially since it is the hottest show on SpoilerTV right now.
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way about Fitz and the love triangle in general. I found the cases far more interesting, although the whole of season 1 was highly addictive to me. Someday I will get to season 2.
ReplyDeleteThanks for nominating. There is obviously a lot of love for the show here.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it. What other shows do you watch?
ReplyDeleteThanks for pitching this show. I know there was a lot of discussion about it last year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for adding the video. It's good to see ashow like Person of Interest get so much love.
ReplyDeleteStalker got shafted by a bad pilot and bad press. In the end I thought it was a good, suspenseful, touching show and I like how they touched on so many aspects of stalking.
ReplyDeleteThere were so many good pitches for Person fo Interest this time. I appreciate everyone taken the time to show it some love.
ReplyDeleteIs there one for White Collar?
ReplyDeleteI feel like I've told you this before, but I actually loved the pilot. Made me fall in love with the show.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, the buzz was the main contributing factor! (My dad also suggested it to me, after seeing one episode and I didn't like it at first.)
ReplyDeleteIt's my dad's favorite currently airing show too. He always wants PoI DVD's first for Christmas and Father's Day.
ReplyDeleteYep, it's in Part E which just went up.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. I hated it. For me it felt like the second coming of The Following. I don't know why Istuck it out but I'm glad I did. If it debuted this coming season, I would never have gotten to know these great characters because I wouldn't have gotten beyond the pilot.
ReplyDeleteI could write a pitch for TVD but I feel like there are too many things I dislike about the show...
ReplyDeleteIf you want the positive things though:
- The first three seasons are quite good and TVD's villains are pretty much always great. Season 6 was good, too.
- The doppelganger thing is so interesting in the first 2 seasons with Nina Dobrev doing an awesome job at portraying both Elena and her ancestor Katherine.
- The second and third seasons see the arrival of the Originals in Mystic Falls. If you're familar TVD's spin-off The Originals, TVD could offer some more infos about these characters.
- Good-looking cast! This is the CW after all.
- Some really good flashbacks with great costumes!
- Great use of songs. I've discovered many songs thanks to this show.
I think MTV is the only network that gets bigger eyerolls/groans when I'm trying to pitch a show to friends and family.
ReplyDeleteThe 100 is the only show that each episode has me fearing for my favorites. Other shows, I'm like no worries, not gonna kill a lead. This show, not so much - anyone is fair game and at any time (the killing isn't just in premiers and finales!). I love it's boldness, I just wish the ratings didn't have me equally worried about the shows demise!
Aw! Didn't have time... And no worries. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry I couldn't be of more help
Nice.
ReplyDeleteNo problem. I appreciate the thought.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. I try to explain to people that Teen Wolf (and later on Eye Candy) were good shows on bad networks with bad titles. They always side eye me and I know exactly what they are thinking. I am much to old for MTV. It's worse than when I was trying to convince people that Supernatural wasn't a teen girl show.
ReplyDeleteAs for The 100, I only worry about the characters I like. The ones I don't could be nuked and I know they are walking away just fine. The ones I love could get a papercut and I will worry about it getting infected and offing them in 2 episodes. I keep hoping beyond hope that word of mouth will help raise The 100's ratings so I don't have to worry about it as a whole. What a shame it will be if they don't get at least 5 seasons.
Thanks. I will add these.
ReplyDeleteRight? As soon as I mention MTV and Teen Wolf, people give me this face. Like it pains them to hear me talk of it. And the judging on my age - totally agree. They look at me like "Really, weren't you alive when MTV first came out and actually played music?". And then they wonder why I discuss my favorite shows with people from STV instead of them.
ReplyDeleteAgreed - I think five seasons is a minimum for The 100, especially if there are only 13-16 episodes each. There is so much opportunity for world building here that to cut it at anything less would be a tragedy!
Bit late commenting on this but here are the shows I recommend from this list.
ReplyDeletePrison Break well at least the first 2 seasons which are excellent and full of twists and turns, the show definitely dropped in quality afterwards but those first seasons were truly great.
Review is so damn weird and S1 goes to a dark place and yet its still really funny.
Selfie is the greatest cancelled too soon show of the 2014/2015 TV season. John Cho and Karen Gillan have amazing chemistry together. Get past the uneven pilot and the bad title and you have a lovely one season wonder which is all about accepting who you are. It is kind of beautiful.
Vicki's transition was one of the best transitions I've seen for a new character that is taking up the role of an old one.
ReplyDeleteI had the same effect with Cold and Heatwave on The Flash ahah, hopefullyI will get used to it enough on Legends of Tomorrow to ignore it.
ReplyDeleteRegarding Revenge, I highly recommend the finish, it's worth it! I have... conflicting feelings about Season 2 of Reign, at best lol. But I still think it finished well enough for a great Season 3, so I would still recommend finishing too.
I will get into Penny Dreadful and Sense8 was already pretty high on my list ;) By the way, I am hooked on The Last Ship already! Episode 5 is next and I am really loving it now! Thanks for convincing me to try it again!
ReplyDeleteAs for Prison Break, I recommend you finish, it's worth it. Where did you stop it? Although Season 1 is the best, Season 2 is also pretty good I think and I personally looooved Season 4A. Season 3 is okay, and the last episodes are amazing, though the early portions are just ok. 4B is terrible other than the finale imo, but well, still worth watching!
The good thing about Person of Interest is that it only gets better and more high stakes as you go on. So you are in for quite the ride ;)
ReplyDeletePenny Dreadful is also pretty high on my list!
Like others told you, the first episodes of the 100 are widely regarded as the weakest of the series. I personally enjoyed them already but the show really becomes itself later on. Try it until episode 6 and see what happens, that is my advice.
ReplyDeletePOI and PB are also shows I recommend ;)
I am actually jealous of those that will get to experience it first time!
ReplyDeleteYou should really finish it, it's worth it!
ReplyDeleteFirst Season of Prison Break = Gold!!
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend Person of Interest, Scandal and Revenge, for what it's worth. You will be forced to make choices at some point, as will I lol, but know that all 3 are highly recommende by me!
ReplyDeleteI think Season 4 of Scandal was indeed weaker but it is still one of my favorite shows so I would still say it is highly recommendable. And Season 2 was so phenomenal - that alone makes it a worthy ride imo. But looking into the future, I think the finale of Season 4 was a game changer in a lot of ways if they want to go there, so they can really revamp the show now and make it fresh again.
ReplyDeleteSeason 2 is the best. I highly recommend it. One of the overall favorite seasons of a show I have.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean? Will you stop watching the shows after the pilot this upcoming season?
ReplyDeleteI think Season 4A of Prison Break is awesome and easily of the quality of the first seasons. It had that heart stopping feel of the first seasons which I loved so much. Other than that, I also thought Season 3 was okay... Not as good but merely and still okay. And the last 3 episodes were amazing with the escape imo. 4B on the other hand.... the less said about it the better, although I did like the finale. But the mother storyline..... Oh god.
ReplyDeleteI took everyone's advice and watches more. I just finished episode 7, and I'm completely hooked now. Everyone was right. I'm loving the character development, the action, and watching relationships form.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you plan to watch Penny and Sense8 since they're two of my favourite shows, and so is The Last Ship! It's great you're enjoying it. Do you think you think you'll be caught up for the premiere tonight?
ReplyDeleteI stopped Prison Break somewhere around the middle of season 1, I'll definitely get around to watching it again it's just a matter of when. My watchlist is bigger than it's ever been, I have Entourage, Doctor Who, Desperate Housewives, Bates motel, Perception, Chosen, Veep, Workaholics, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Legend of the Seeker all on my watchlist. Most of them I'm still in early season 1. So much TV!
I read it too! Thanks for the kind words on my pitch for PD :) I had dropped Primeval but this article makes me want to go back to it! My watchlist is so long already though! I tried Scandal a few months ago (thanks to you and Missions!) but sadly I couldn't get into it. I let it go early in season 2.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading eheh:p I still need to go over Part E! If you let go of Scandal early in Season 2, which is when it is strongest imo, then it really wasn't for you. But I am glad you at least gave it a try.
ReplyDeleteMy watchlist is huge now too but I have a solid list of what I want to get into over the summer so I am happy with it too!
Watchlists really are crazy! I won't be able to finish The Last Ship today so no caught up in time for tomorrow but I am sure I will be finished during this week so when episode 2x03 rolls I will be ready to join in. I am really loving the show now and it's not even "background" type of show (as in, shows I watch while doing other things like typing here now lol), which is why I am also not rushing it. I like to get sucked in for each episode! It's crazy how I didn't like it last year when I tried it, I guess I really wasn't in the mood. So glad you guys convinced me to try it out again though!
ReplyDeleteWow so happy to hear that! I am genuienly excited for you and I am even jealous that you will get to experience it all first hand. And the good news for you is that Season 2 is widely regarded as being superior to Season 1, although I personally think Season 1 is already spectacular. I am really glad! Thanks for letting me know!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, Revenge is on my Netflix list, I'll finish it once they add season 4.
ReplyDeleteI will watch Reign, eventually, I did watch the first half of season 2, but didn't have time for it afterwards, and I started to get bored to be honest.
I did start watching Aquarius a couple of days ago, I think you were the one who recommended it, it's really good! And I don't even like the '60s!
I have always had a 3 episode policy where I would give every new show 3 episodes to hook me unless I knew for sure that it wasn't going to be for me. Because I have so much TV to watch these days, I'm not going to do that. If the pilot doesn't get me, it doesn't get reviewed anymore. I might watch it in summer but fall is too busy. I spent far too much time watching TV for my column last season. So much so that it was interfering with my family time. I can't do that again this year. My family's already thrown me an intervention. :-)
ReplyDeleteSo I've heard, yeah! Which is wonderful to hear-I have to say I'm legit excited about the prospect of getting into that series down the line, knowing there's all this good stuff waiting for me :D. Next time I'm out, I'll look and see if the DVDs of that show are available to rent, and if so, I'll pick that up.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll certainly give "Penny Dreadful" a look soon as well. I like the title-I remember reading somewhere the origin of that phrase, and I think that's kind of a neat source of inspiration :).
Ha lol, I will probably have to make some decisions. PoI is one I intend to start this summer, and then I will have to make a tough choice between various shows.
ReplyDeleteI definitely have Penny Dreadful in my sights. I think it's the next one I'll tackle.
ReplyDeleteOne of these days, PoI and Primeval will go up in my to-watch list... I know they will...
Selfie was super cute! I'm glad it got a nod here.
This segment features a lot of show that I started but gave up on (Prison Break, Revenge, Rookie Blue, Sense8)... IIiiiiiiiinteresting...
You should know Scandal is about a whole lot more than Liv's affair with the President, it has political intrigue, drama for the characters, some great dialogues and very intense moments. Also it sure as hell is entertaining.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like we have similar opinions on Reign, it needs to stop playing on the triangles with all its characters and concentrate more on the political intrigue and historical themes of the time. I was about to give up on it as a show earlier this year, but have stuck with it as I am interested in seeing were it goes now Liz is cast. There are so many possible stories and arcs to choose from back then, it make me want to bang my head against the wall sometimes when they revert to picking yet another triangle for their characters instead.
ReplyDeleteSense8 and Penny Dreadful are both on my list, and are both saved on my disk waiting for me to get time for them....
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly. I agree 100% with everything you've said. I have been getting my hopes up for Season 3 a lot because I think the show ended well enough to allow for a big shake up. Like you said, there are sooo many possibilities. And I personally think that introducing English court is a huge step up in itself. There is also the fact that Francis is probably dying at year's end and then the fact that it appears that they've written off Lady Kenna (although that still has to be confirmed) - not that I dislike her character per se, but she embodies a little bit too much the whole "love triangle aspect, no politics" of the show, if you know what I mean. She was quite fun in Season 1 but they had no idea what to do in Season 2 with her. So all in all I remain optimistic, let's hope not in vain.
ReplyDeleteAgree about Kenna, I've not really enjoyed her much this last season. The person who I have enjoyed the most has been Greer actually, her leaving the palace and having to fend for herself has been great, I;d like to see more of her life in S3 and how she gets on. As long as we don't get round three of Leith, especially if he gets caught up with Claude...
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to see William Cecil at Elizabeth's court, so am slightly worried that we have Dudley and his wife instead, which is another well known historical triangle. But I'm assuming that Catherine would be taking on Cecil's role at the scheming anyway, so he's probably not required atm. I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen there.
