Oh COME ON?!
ReplyDeleteReally? So we live in a world where that's a thing now?!
LoL! Just lOl!
ReplyDeleteI can't even! The only award show where CW leads with the nominees.
You're forgetting the Teen Choice Awards.
ReplyDeleteShip of the year? Seriously? Spoiling/encouraging/enabling rabid shippers even more.
ReplyDeleteI can get behind a fandom of the year award - for sane and polite fandoms - just like awarding football (soccer) teams fairplay awards for clean games and exemplary behavior on the field.
Think that not even there they are this dominant. But yeah they are strong there as well.
ReplyDeleteWow Revenge wasn't nominated for anything?!
ReplyDeleteOh please please please let olicity win. And what the hell why wasn't sterek nominated since its the most popular. Uugh teen wolf. Anyways how do you vote.
ReplyDelete*smiles smugly*
ReplyDeleteAnd now I want a kit kat...
ReplyDeleteWhere can I vote?
ReplyDeleteSupernatural. Please. :)
ReplyDeleteYep, it's times like these that I'm reminded that I am too old for MTV. Still love Teen Wolf and Eye Candy though. Terrible names, terrible network, fun shows.
ReplyDeleteI thought those were taken over by ABC Family these days.
ReplyDeletethose nominated ships are ridiculous!!! do they want to start civil war before it comes into the movies?! I don't even want to check tumblr!! there will be a lot of angry people and like 5% that will be over the moon for joy....
ReplyDeleteI'm so tired of shipping cause in this day in age all it does is eat up your fanbase. The fighting , threats, Validation and the entitlement is unbelievable. It use to be a fun thing.
ReplyDeleteNo, but it's all under the "SciFi" categories (tv show, actor, actress) which is mostly what The CW is these days. They are super dominate this year. ABC Family is in the "Drama" category.
ReplyDeleteThey are more dominant at the Teen Choice currently but it's all the in "SciFi" categories.
ReplyDeleteMTV: producing sh*tty shows and encouraging the de-volution of television
ReplyDeleteI've never even heard of these awards.. (does this happen every year?)..... Clarke is so much more awesome and enjoyable without being attached to a ship.
ReplyDeleteThe ship wars in tumblr will be funny as hell.
ReplyDeleteGiving an award for something as stupid as shipping is really sad.
ReplyDeleteI think the reason why Sterek wasn't nominated and Sciles was, is because the screen time Stiles and Derek have shared in the last two seasons is basically non-existent. I think it was the writers/showrunners/actors/channel's bright idea of trying to make people forget about Sterek. Something that obviously didn't happen and only served to enrage the shippers.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I don't get why Sciles is in the category (Bamon as well). Besides the fact
ReplyDeletethat I don't ship it (but I don't hate ship it either. I'm whatever about it
truthfully as a romantic ship, I do BROTP the f*ck out of it though), I
got the idea, based on all the previous ships that were nominated in
the category, that only canon ships would be taken into consideration. Something which Sciles (and Bamon) are not. Anyway, doesn't really matter in the end.
Fandom of the year. That's really awesome. And i'm sorry, Bamon??? what?? ROtflmmfao!!! Oh boy this will be hilarious. I'm so glad i won't be apart of this. I can get behind the Fandom of the year thing. I think that's pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here looking at this list and I have never felt more my age than I do right now.
ReplyDeleteThey are spending money to produce an award show for this. I don't even know what to say, honestly.
Bamon FTW :)
ReplyDeleteRemember that time when MTV actually played music? Those were the days.
ReplyDeleteOh good god, I just laughed so hard at this. I'm so glad I'm too old for this ****.
ReplyDeleteFunny how they didn't include the biggest/loudest abusive crackships/ships of Tumblr lol. Kudos to MTV for doing that.
ReplyDeleteClarke doesn't have time for a ship. She had to kill her best friend and then committed genocide. She needs some alone time to get her head together.
ReplyDeleteGenerally I laugh at MTV and Teen Choice Award categories. This time I just feel old. I remember when MTV debuted. The music, the videos, the television has now turned into the worst reality tv shows on the planet, condom and anti-smoking commercials, bad advice, and this. Aww forget it. I'm going to laugh, eye roll, and be glad I was a teen in the 80's instead of now. (And fear for the future.)
ReplyDeleteShipping can involve Brotps so it makes sense to have sciles on there, also the creator once said the most important relationship of the show is Scott and Stiles.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, these ship wars are going to be fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? I really don't know how to reply to that.
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I was happy about "Fandom of the Year"; it's not my fault everyone ignored it and focused on "Ship of the Year", which by the way I'm also happy about.
Me too. I couldn't wait to see what MTV had on. Now. all you can do is laugh. "Video Killed the Radio Star" I can still hear it like it was yesterday. Now I'm feeling nostalgic.
ReplyDelete*Upvotes for laughing*
ReplyDeletehow am i making fun of other people? my reply was to Dahne, not you.
ReplyDeleteAnd Dahne's reply was what? A very heartfelt compliment? It was sarcastic remark that made you laugh, and you upvoted it. Correct me if I'm wrong but that seems like you're agreeing with the comment.
ReplyDeleteLMAO!! yeah,of course i was. so what? what's it your business? if you are going to get butthurt, please leave the internet. when i upvoted+replied was to her,NOT YOU!
ReplyDeleteI can see your point. How is laughing about a comment making fun of me any of my business? Hard to argue with that logic.
ReplyDeleteGreat job,MTV. feeding the most toxic people,EVER!!!!!
ReplyDeletebwhahaha. how was she making fun of you? it's none of your BUSINESS! what i wrote to HER! that's my business,NOT YOURS! i never mentioned YOUR NAME! so indeed,it isn't your business.
ReplyDeleteIf only you could see how that comment made no sense at all. Anyway, I'm done with this conversation. You have a good night.
ReplyDeleteOkay,fine. yep,it doesn't make sense at all. that's cool.
ReplyDeleteHey now, I love Teen Wolf (except for last season) and Eye Candy was a whole lot better than I expected. After that I can't really disagree though. All those terrible reality TV shows they produce that highlight some of the worst of humanity and some of the stupidest.
ReplyDeleteJust what we needed. More encouragement to have Twitter wars over ships.
ReplyDeleteIf "Teen Mom" or the Kardashians won for best reality series, I...would weep.
ReplyDeleteAlso, while I know teens watch shows like "Game of Thrones" and "Orange is the New Black", they still look oddly out of place against so much of the other stuff nominated :p. But they are popular/have their followings, so...
As for the shipping award...I'd have no problem with a category for favorite TV couples in and of itself, but I do side with the others who know this will only fuel shipper wars, too. Don't really need that behavior to be encouraged any further.
Remember coming home from school and racing to see which of the 25 videos on repeat was coming up next and being okay that you just saw it when you left for school because channel choice was just coming into its own.
ReplyDeleteSame. MTV has definitely changed from what it was when I was a teenager, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteWell, I have only seen Teen Wolfs first season and that one was attrocious (and everything I hate about teen clichés was there).
ReplyDeleteNever saw Eye Candy but a clip they showed on The Soup. That scene alone was SO dumb I don't think the show was my cup of tea ("I don't believe in guns...")
Nowadays it's more like MTV killed the music video lovers.
ReplyDeleteFair enough. I just rewatched Teen Wolf season 1 and there was a lot to scorn there, more than I remembered because I marathoned it in two days originally and the action and swift moving plot made up for a multitude of sins for me. If you ever decide to give it a shot again, try season 3. 3B is one of the best things I have ever seen in a technically teen show and 3 A was pretty decent too.
ReplyDeletePretty much :/. My teen years began in the late '90s, so they had stuff like "Real World" and that running by then*, but even with that, they still worked music videos into their regular schedule somehow. You got to see them on "TRL", there was some show on for a while that scrolled the lyrics to the songs at the bottom as they played the videos, they had occasional video countdowns, and though they didn't air them until late at night, they still had blocks of just plain ol' videos for part of the overnight hours.
ReplyDelete*Plus, MTV did have "Daria", so I could forgive the occasional break in music videos for shows like that :).
Daria is one recommended to me that I have never gotten around to yet.
ReplyDeleteI will add to the recommendations, then :D. It was a good show. One of my favorite animated series.
ReplyDeleteSadly I can't, it's been hyped up to no end to me, to a degree I can't help but be incredibly biased and have too high expectations.
ReplyDeleteEspecially since I already can't stand the unjustified Dylan O'Brien hype
If you don't liek Dylan O'Brien then this is definitely not the show for you. I think he's talented and I love the character he plays. In fact, I'll likely nominate Stiles for the Character Cup next week.
ReplyDeleteGreat. I hope you pitch it next year. There's no way i will get to it this time.
ReplyDeleteOooh, yeah, good idea. I'll definitely keep that one in mind for the "pitch your show" thing next year :).
ReplyDeleteSHIP OF THE YEAR OHMYGOD WTF
ReplyDeleteHe was attrocious in Maze Runner and I didn't like him in season 1. So I'm probably wrong for the show
ReplyDeleteI grew into the TRL generation, 2002-2008 were my MTV days..
ReplyDeletenot only did I love to watch music videos to relax after school but also stuff like Pimp my Ride made my day.
Do it! Last year I binged the entire series in a week. It still holds up.
ReplyDeleteI don't really ship sterek but its really messed up that they exclude it and put sciles.
ReplyDeleteWhich one is that one? Lol
ReplyDeleteYes yes bamon.
ReplyDeleteI don't ship Sterek either. But I understand why they wouldn't include it now. If it were 2-3 years ago (meaning season 1-2) then, yes, it would be pretty messed up (they would have ignored one of the largest parts of the fandom) but now? Since the aforementioned lack of screen time, it is logical to assume they wouldn't be part of the nominees. (The lack of screen time, though, is messed up.)
ReplyDeleteAlso, someone pointed out to me in a comment that they include BROTPs (in the sense that shipping includes BROTPs) and that's why Sciles is nominated. But since every other pairing in the category is romantically involved (with the exception of Bamon. But some believe that the relationship is as it was this season so as to prepare us for the potential/eventual romantic aspect of the pairing next year.)
The last sentence on my previous comment was a general observation. It was not meant to insinuate that you are one of the enraged shippers. Sorry if it sounded like I was calling you that. :)
Its okay I didn't think you were calling me an enraged shipper. I just want my olicity to win.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. That one-way ticket to Mars is looking more and more appealing.
ReplyDeleteYES!! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately less.
ReplyDeleteLMAO
ReplyDeleteSUPERNATURAL is the best show ever !!
ReplyDeleteWell, several, not just one lol
ReplyDeleteThe ship choices are. . . . interesting. Lots of popular ships left out, and some included I've never heard of. What happened to Delena and Steroline? No ships from Once Upon a Time, Glee, Outlander, or The Flash? No Destiel?
ReplyDeleteWhy so many choices for fandom of the year and so few choices for ship of the year?
"Fandom of the Year"... I can live with that. But "Ship of the Year"???? Definitely an award this world doesn't need...
ReplyDeleteI do remember it being one of your favorites on MTV. I believe you compared Awkward to it at one time.
ReplyDeleteBamon for the win!!!
ReplyDeleteI like bamon but my heart goes to olicity.
ReplyDeletewell they included Olicity and Bamon, that about covers it
ReplyDeleteNot well researched at all and so out of touch with shipping fandoms. This ship category is a J.o.k.e.
ReplyDeleteSterek doesnt exist, never will and never did, why would it be included.
ReplyDeleteOlicity and Bamon aren't abusive for me, at least LESS abusive than others (which were not included)
ReplyDeleteExcuse me but this is shipping which includes cannon and noncannon so sterek can be included.
ReplyDeleteFor me and my opinion:
ReplyDeleteVD: Bamon or Delena
Originals: Haley and Elijah.
No Klayley- Thank goodness.
I was a teen in the 90's but my MTV experience was very much the same.
ReplyDeleteIt's AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteSAME!!
ReplyDeleteActually they had some pretty good animation shows all around I remember.
The fandoms are complete scam of the earth, especially Olicity fandom.
ReplyDelete
