Marvel Comics - Rumor - Identity Of The New Hulk Leaked? *Updated*

Update 1:
“An all-new Hulk unlike any Hulk you’ve seen before. It’s so much fun and it makes so much story sense that this Hulk will exist. It will raise questions for long-term fans about Bruce Banner (the Green Giant’s alter ego).”

My reliable source has it under good authority that the new Hulk will be Amadeus Cho.

Cho was created by Writer Greg Pak and Artist Takeshi Miyazawa and has been a friend and ally to the Hulk for a long time. Bruce Banner will be separated from the Hulk persona, but will still remain a part of the universe.

Amadeus Cho is considered one of the smartest people in the Marvel universe (the 7th smartest person in the universe according to Reed Richards). Generally depicted as a teenager he can perform multiple complex calculations within his head in seconds, to the point where his brain is considered a hyper computer. He's had multiple run-ins with the Hulk, and is at times considered one of the Hulk's best friends. Both feeling that they are misunderstood, yet have awesome power.

Original Post:
We are told that the All-New Hulk will cause controversy. That just the character’s silhouette alone will cause ructions. And that the same folk who got upset with Jane Foster as Thor will get as upset with this as well. Which has led a number to suggest that Jennifer Walters, the She-Hulk, will become the actual Hulk.

Well, stranger things have happened. But one Little Bleeder writes in, who has never written in before, telling me that they overheard Marvel staff members in New York gossiping that the new Hulk will actually be the Ultimate Reed Richards character, the psychopathic teenage genius from the Ultimate Universe.

I could see such a character being able to alter his shape to Hulk dimensions,. but as it stands, can’t exactly see how that might work. But it’s the most insane idea I’ve heard so far… so it just might work. I don’t know whether to believe it and it may well be contradicted in hours, but I just thought…

Unlike the regular Reed Richards, the ultimate universe version has been taken in a vastly different direction.

After Magneto used Thor's hammer to drown New York (killing many characters in the process), Reed began to have a breakdown. His marriage proposal to Sue was rejected and he ordered Ben to kill Doctor Doom. With his world view changed he faked his death and began a scheme to 'Perfect' the world, which included killing many more. As Galactus began to destroy the world during the Cataclysm event, the heroes had to team up with Reed in order to save the universe. Despite seeming to have returned to the side of good, Reed continued his dark schemes in secret to 'Perfect' the world.

How dark? Well...

  1. Huh, guess Marvel really wants to sabotage that new FF movie

I guess it would fit in with the 'Miles wont be the only Ultimate Universe character'
Plus Ultimate Reed is only of the few good things to come out of the Ultimate Universe. (Reed, Miles and the Zombie line pretty much)

  3. I think that's very weird. And Marvel loves weird things. She-Hulk becoming the actual Hulk is too predictable so they could try it with the Ultimate Reed.

  4. I hope they go the female route.

I'm seeing a fair few people suggest that it should be a transgender character.

A man born in a womens body, but when they 'Hulk out' they get to be a male Hulk. So they're torn between living as a human in a body that doesn't match who they are or living as a Hulk who the same gender as they are both mentally and physically.

Yeah. I saw some theorize that this could potentially be a loophole for both the Hulk contract and the FF contract. If he's technically an entirely different character with the name Reed Richards and an entirely different Hulk then he may not be covered under either contract.

  7. Truth. Ultimate Reed is so dark and twisted, I just love him.

  8. Sadly that would be character and film suicide. Just look at 50% of the worlds negative reaction to Caitlin Jenner. This will never happen.

  9. I would love to be a fly on the wall during that meeting with the lawyers.

  10. Sooooo if they end up going the female route who should they cast ?

I'd like to see someone surprising and unexpected get the role like Julia Roberts, Emma Stone, or Angelina Jolie.

Just like on the TV show the Hulk one actress would play Jennifer Walters well say Chyna would play the She-Hulk.

  11. Was it negative? From what I heard their reactions were a bit "too" positive, meaning that they started objectivying her immediately instead of treating her with respect

  12. I doubt that Universal bought the rights to only one version of the character, the Hulk is a brand in itself and can't really be outmaneuvered by a gender-identity switch

  13. I hope it isn't Ultimate Reed Richards, he annoys the hell out of me in the comics I've read.

  14. The family and celebrity side of things has been amazingly positive but when you dig deeper sadly there are main 'redneck' types posting stuff on forums like this calling her a 'it' and being so hate filled and mean spirited that they are suggesting she should be stripped of her metals as she is no longer Bruce.

  15. Man i'm really not liking some of these "All-new, All-different" things Marvel is doing.

Apparently this is the kind of reaction that Marvel is going for though.

They've mentioned that people will be complaining about the new Hulk more then they did about the new Thor's gender. I assume that if they go down that path, they want to try and recreate the sales success of Miles Morales, Kamala Khan and Jane Foster.

  17. I took it to mean the {She} Hulk would be female as well as African American.

  18. Feels like everyone is a getting a new identity now. or at least they start to do so here. Not big on comics, so I wont care much.

  19. Where are the DC Comics industry news though?
