Heroes alum Sendhil Ramamurthy has booked a guest arc on NBC’s event mini Heroes Reborn. Ramamurthy is the latest original cast member to sign up for the Heroes follow-up. In the 2006-2010 cult series, he played Dr Mohinder Suresh, a geneticist seeking the truth behind his father’s murder and the continuation of his research into evolved humans.
The character is the fifth from the original show due to appear in Heroes Reborn along with Jack Coleman’s Noah Bennet, Masi Oka’s Hiro Nakamura, Greg Grunberg’s Matt Parkman and Jimmy Jean-Louis’ The Haitian.

ReplyDeleteI really liked him early on but what they did to him later on in the series was one of the best examples of everything that went wrong with the series. I would love for him to be back in a guest spot but not without the powers BS, just let him be the scientist again. The spider Mohinder image is one of the worst images I have of the show, urgh

ReplyDeleteI recently rewatched season 1, the only DVD set I bought, and I was surprised at how much I liked him, because the later seasons made me hate him so much, just like Sylar... I really hope they sort of reset his personality, I wouldn't mind if there were no explanations whatsoever, let's just go back to original Mohinder.

ReplyDeleteI think the returning 'characters' are just going to be used as a way to segue from the past Heroes to the future Heroes as well as for 'cameo' sake ...so... I wouldn't worry about them getting all that much screen time.

ReplyDeleteBut now you have at least 3 or 4 heroes returning for their guest arcs. In theory if each is in multiple episodes that could cover most of the season.
I think it is a huge mistake to have so many reminders or connections to the past series. Especially in a shorter season of 13 episodes.
Honestly it would be too much for me even if they just made cameos standing in the background.

ReplyDeleteI am on the fence about the show overall as I'm in the "everything after S2 went off the rails" camp, and some of that was the bad writing and the misdevelopment of the characters... I would've preferred to have HRG guy and all new characters to be honest.

ReplyDeleteAll of these characters were interesting at some point or another...though it is becoming more and more annoying that the most popular characters will not be joining them. We're so close to having most of them back, but wont get to see peter, Sylar, or Claire.
