Grey’s Anatomy is giving Callie and Arizona plenty of time to find their way back to each other.
The latter’s portrayer, Jessica Capshaw — whose contact expired in May — has inked a new three-year-contract with the ABC medical drama, TVLine has learned exclusively.
The new pact puts Arizona at Grey Sloan Memorial until May 2018, although Grey’s has technically only been renewed through the upcoming 2015-16 season.

ReplyDeleteRenewing for 3 years doesn't mean that Greys will run until 2018.Networks does this kind of thing to secure actors.CBS did the same this year with Matt Czuchry and Christine Baranski with 2 more years even though The Good Wife has been only renewed for one more year.

Stopped watching this TV show after 10. They're seriously going to drag it at least 3 more seasons? Wow.
Question: Since it's 3 years, if the show is done this season...does she get paid for the next two years even if she's not on it?

ReplyDeleteI am thinking more of ER, which had a constant turnaround of main cast members, But I don't know if Grey's could ever continue without Meredith -though them getting a new Grey could be a way of assuring that-
ReplyDeleteIt seems like a 3 year deal happened just to put Jessica on the same renewal schedule as everyone else (or whoever reups after S12 if it's renewed). This is Jessica's first new contract since her original one, so I bet with losing Dempsey, the ball was in her court for negotiations. Out of the original "big 3" couples, Callie/Arizona are all that's left in any capacity.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Jessica's contract was up, and now wonder if that was the main reason behind the Callie/Arizona breakup, and why they showed Callie dating, and Arizona pretty much doing nothing personally, and having the big early season storyline with Geena Davis.
