Many are pointing the finger at Latino Review for letting the cat out of the bag. It's highly suspected that their exclusive report has ended up causing a fan favorite actor to walk away from a very popular Netflix series, and fans are clearly disappointed this morning. Apparently, the actor was heavy into negotiations for the role. It's speculated that, perhaps, Jason Statham's agent saw all the positive buzz and upped his asking fee, which killed the deal. Or, on the flip side of that, the studio may have seen the positive reaction, and terminated the deal fearing they would have to dole out more money. However it happened, money clearly seems to be a factor, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.
However it happened, its being confirmed that Jason Statham is completely out of the running for Marvel's Daredevil Season 2, and another actor will be sought out. The good news remains, Bullseye will be in these new episodes. He's not the only villain, though. We'll also see Mr. Fear, Spider-Man regular Mysterio, and, as we've heard in the recent past, Elektra, who eventually becomes a love interest for Matt Murdock.
Original Post:
Our spies spotted him meeting with Marvel personnel earlier this week while taking a break from the press tour for Spy. Aside from Bullseye, other villainous characters who are said to appear in Daredevil's highly-anticipated second season include Mr Fear, Mysterio (one of Spider-Man's iconic rogues), and Elektra - Daredevil's eventual love interest.
Also quick note that Marvel's Daredevil seaon 2 is set to start shooting at the end of June early July not in the Fall.
