Tyler has signed on with the hit procedural following the departure of one star (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and the forthcoming temporary absence of another (A.J. Cook). Both Hewitt and Cook are pregnant, and Hewitt has opted to leave the show after one season while Cook is going on maternity leave.
The Archer actress and current The Talk co-host will play Dr. Tara Lewis, a psychologist with an eye on forensic psychology and its application toward the criminal justice system. In the new season, Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) interviews several candidates in an effort to replace Kate Callahan (Hewitt). Dr. Lewis proves to be the best applicant and ends up helping out the BAU team in an investigation.
Some more official background on Tyler’s character: “Her dream was to study psychopaths up close and personal – and her psychology background, combined with her experience in the FBI, brought her face-to-face with monsters. Her job was to stare them down and interview them, in order to determine if they were fit to stand trial. In the process, she made herself find the humanity inside these broken men (and, sometimes, women) in order to learn if there was a conscience behind their brutal crimes.”

I hope she'll join as regular ! I love her so much !
ReplyDeleteOh, they both were regulars in Ghost Whisperer! Such a coincidence.
ReplyDeleteLove that Aisha was in season one of Ghost Whisperer with Hewittl.
ReplyDeleteLove her. I don't watch the show, but maybe I'll catch an episode or two if I know Tyler is in it.
ReplyDelete$10 they spend the season building her character and then she gets pregnant and leaves the show.
ReplyDeleteDidn't expect that pick! But I like her, so I'm intrigued to see how she'll fit in on the show. The forensic psychologist angle should be interesting.
ReplyDeleteThis will leave David Conrad, Christoph Sanders, and Jay Mohr as the only Ghost Whisperer regulars that haven't at least made an appearance. (Jamie Kennedy was the unsub, Floyd Feylinn Ferell, in Lucky, and Camryn Manheim was the mother, Carla Hines, in The Inspiration/The Inspired)
ReplyDeleteshe already played as recuring in CSI so why not ;)
ReplyDeleteLove this casting choice!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit surprised by this news. Not Aisha coming on, but that they're having the whole "replacing Kate" storyline.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was said in an interview that they weren't going to replace Kate. They were just going to keep the team the way it was. I get JJ/AJ is going to be gone at first, so maybe it's not so much to replace Kate as it is to find a temporary help.
Yeah, it says her role is "recurring", which doesn't sound like a full-time thing to me, so I'm guessing that's part of it. I'd heard they'd originally considered a revolving door of guest team members for a while at first, but I think it's better they just have someone they know will be around for any extra help they may need now that JJ's going to be out as well.
ReplyDeleteHow she is described make's her sound to me like a potential unsub after she spend a whole season helping the good guys.
ReplyDeleteDo you know AT background and her attempts to get pregnant? I love AT - great casting. She's a class act all the way.
ReplyDeleteRecurring is a good idea - not locked into the same team dynamic ever week. I wonder if she's signing a "7 in 13" or a "17 in 22" contract for the show.
ReplyDeleteFantastic choice''
ReplyDeleteI read on another site that it is rumored that she will be Reid's new girlfriend.
