So Fall starts going down Sep 21st. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteTBBT and Scorpion
Limitless.
Code Black (CAN'T WAIT)
and Supergirl getting the TBBT lead in. They certainly want it to do well.
Weep for Person of Interest.
ReplyDeleteDid they push POI to midseason?!
ReplyDeleteDamn you CBS!
Hm. Smart of CBS to use the first half hour on the 26th of October to air TBBT and bring their audience in for the Supergirl premiere.
ReplyDeletehmmmmm
ReplyDeleteSo long wait for Elementary.Thank god H50 premieres in Sep as usual.
ReplyDeleteNot surprised that POI was pushed to mid-season for their Final Season.
ReplyDeleteWow, these came way earlier than last year, not that there is anything unexpected here.
ReplyDeleteErm, that was announced when CBS released there fall schedule.
ReplyDeleteHow did U missed that? STV suffered a meltdown.
ReplyDeleteWell at least I'll have some shows in September.
ReplyDeleteWhat is going on today? Fall TV day! I'm stunt by so many news.
ReplyDeleteSo many? I only see 2.
ReplyDeleteThey should have just made Thursday night all comedies come November..
ReplyDeleteSo once again, I'll probably only be adding one more new CBS show to my list: Limitless. Still not sure about it so I'll give it a few more episodes.
ReplyDeleteYesterday zero! So this is too MUCH! ^^
ReplyDelete3 if you count the Once casting calls and upgrades.
I only heard about the episode count reduction
ReplyDeleteCould care less for new shows on CBS
ReplyDeleteWake me up when they release POI's season premiere, AKA the only season premiere on CBS I care about.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't know? It was pushed to mid-season with a shortened episode order(13).
ReplyDeleteAnd once again I ask:
ReplyDelete1) Why does CBS think Cyber will do nay better on Sundays than the mothership.?
2) How does CBS plan on fitting 3 comedies left out for midseason in there jam packed schedule. Angel from Hell might bomb and that gives them one free slot when it is pulled, but what about the other two? I don't see Life in Pieces to fall to "pulled from schedule" worthy ratings with the TBBT lead-in.
3) Why not air Limitless at 9 since it has a chance of skewing young?
Same.
ReplyDeleteSo you didn't even check CBS's fall schedule released during the upfronts?
ReplyDeleteI hope that half hour difference doesn't effect Scorpion's ratings too much.
ReplyDeleteIt's only for one episode, I assume.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing it isn't permanent either but they might do it for a few episodes just to make sure they give it as much of a push as possible.
ReplyDeleteGive Supergirl a push I mean
ReplyDeleteMonday, Oct. 26: Following an original episode of THE BIG BANG THEORY (8:00-8:30 PM), SUPERGIRL makes its series debut at a special time (8:30-9:30 PM), followed by SCORPION (9:30-10:30 PM) and a comedy rebroadcast (10:30-11:00 PM). SUPERGIRL moves into its regular time period (8:00-9:00 PM) on Monday, Nov. 2, while SCORPION returns to 9:00-10:00 PM.>/i>
ReplyDeleteIt's simple strategy. Use your highest rated show to boost your highly anticipated new show.
ReplyDeleteis it to early to predict ratings LOL
ReplyDeleteOh cool, thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI think Supergirl is premiering at 8:30 as the first episode is a hour and a half and the following week it will go back to it's regular timeslot of 8pm/9pm.
ReplyDeleteYes, I know, but still.
ReplyDeleteI think it's to allow Sarah to get back to fighting shape after having her twins so she can fully be in all 13 episodes and bring Shaw 100 %.
ReplyDeleteSo early?
ReplyDeleteSo is it's regular timeslot the following week 8pm or 9pm ?
ReplyDeleteI did, I just didn't read much past the "order reduced".
ReplyDelete1) They don't think so. They are counting on it having horrible ratings but on international sales/ syndication potential boosted by the CSI brand being enough to make it profitable
ReplyDelete2) My guess is as good as yours.
2) Which 9pm timeslot would you suggest for that? They don't have one available. I think it should have aired Mondays at 10 post Scorpion, it is the most natural pairing there could be. The 9pms don't work because on Mondays, they really shouldn't demote Scorpion to 10pm (which is their biggest drama hit since CSI Miami, so really should be protected), on Tuesdays they know that New Orleans is way too weak to stand without NCIS, on Wednesdays they won't launch it against Empire and on Thurdays it would get stranded with the horrible November schedule and they need the hour for comedy anyway.
They can't really do it for more episodes since TBBB is returning to Thursday after that.
ReplyDeleteWell, if it's nowhere on the fall schedule, that means it was held to midseason.
ReplyDeleteYep.
ReplyDelete1)
ReplyDeleteCSI is a giant franchise, there's not only a name attatched to it but also multiple overseas syndication deals that require a higher ammount of episodes. If a franchise (like CSI) has been heavily sat in brand it's always a foregone conclusion for various places over seas that it'll sell, so they throw their money into the pot as well.
It's not about immediate ratings for Cyber, it's about the long haul.
2)
Scrambling the episodes into a full schedule without re-runs. I could see TBBT/LiP go on hiatus in late december and being replaced by the rest of Angel from Hell. The more "new" programming they have the more they have to advertise.
3)
Because most sat in franchises are already occupying that spot. Plus: Limitless is already going to hit big (at least in CBS hypothetical future) due to the Bradley Cooper connection (I can already prophecize you that he'll be used for promotional material despite only recurring)
The better questions should be: does CBS still care about creating new and creative formats? The network feels like a retirement home these days.
I just got that now, CBS is on my sh*tlist already anyway...
ReplyDeleteso far away till MOM :(
ReplyDeleteI knooooow right?
ReplyDeleteExcited for Criminal Minds, Survivor, TAR, Supergirl & Mom.
ReplyDeleteFor what Mac ?
ReplyDeleteLook at its line-up, all original shows are either spin-offs or adaptions that don't even attempt to be something new and amazing.
ReplyDeleteAll interesting shows are WB productions (POI and Supergirl)
It's long long wait :'(
ReplyDeleteNothing interesting. The only two CBS shows I watched are moved to mid-season. Damn you, CBS.
ReplyDelete*Out of habit scrolls through looking for POI premiere date*
ReplyDelete*suddenly remembers what CBS did to POI*
DAMN YOU, CBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TBBT & Supergirl. I will dieeeeeeeeeee!!!!
ReplyDeleteScorpion and NCIS:LA on my birthday hell ya lol
ReplyDeleteStill sad CSI will be ending after 15 years
ReplyDeleteWell they are premiering Super Girl
ReplyDeletewich they turned into a procedural with a stereotyped heroine that barely empathizes the concept of Supergirl: a strong independant woman.
ReplyDeleteIn fact Supergirl reinforces some of the most sexist stereotypes I've ever seen (Kara being quirky, degraded at work, her female led company being all about gossip, focusing on ONE guy, barely defeating a "man", still bossed around by a man).
I recently had a longer chat with a female variety reporter and she wasn't too hot on Supergirl either, in fact she had some choice words about it.
Plus: it's produced by WB
do you remember the Wonder Woman pilot? Now THAT one had a strong female lead
Elementary + Comedies thursday don't mix......
ReplyDeleteAwesome that Scorpion premieres so quickly. Still that weird timing after using TBBT as a launching pad for Supergirl is going to throw me off. They couldn't have put a comedy on before TBBT and launch it at a more normal time?
ReplyDeleteDo you guys have any ( a guess even ) idea when the CW, FOX, ABC, and NBC will be sharing/releasing their shows premiere dates ?
ReplyDeleteAccording to this, Supergirl's premiere is regular length (one hour). Scorpion airs at 9:30 and then they are doing a random comedy repeat after that. It's weird. I understand wanting to launch a show like Supergirl after your biggest hit but I would think they'd put a new comedy episode and then TBBT. Then have Supergirl and Scorpion just air an hour later than normal. Doing it this way, they run the risk of people watching something else and then coming into Supergirl halfway. It's a very strange decision in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteCyber is probably cheaper and neither's ratings were anything to rave about. This is a brand syndication thing.
ReplyDeleteI was in on a podcast about the pilot with 3 other women and our general opinion was lukewarm as well. There's potential but the pilot doesn't do much to show it.
ReplyDeleteThey are just playing out Elementary's episodes for more syndication money at this point. I am still surprised it didn't move to Sundays with the rest of CBS' dying shows.
ReplyDeleteThey want to attract their own CBS viewers first and for most and then hope the rest of the world is doing the same.
ReplyDeleteSupergirl in October, really?! Scorpion Season 2 !!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWait, are you being serious about that Wonder Woman pilot?
ReplyDeleteSo, September is gonna be a great month :)
ReplyDeleteThis is surprisingly organized.
ReplyDeleteGreat news!!! Happy to see the premiere dates confirmed for my shows: NCIS: LA, Scorpion, The Big Bang Theory, Limitless, NCIS, NCIS: NO, Criminal Minds and Elementary.
ReplyDeleteHope to see more confirmation premiere dates for NBC, FOX and The CW.
I think it's too early for me to retain this information right now...
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. My only CBS show interest is POI now that Mentalist is done. I got tired of CSI after Grissom left. Never got into any of their spin-offs, and never got into Elementary, and never saw why so many love NCIS. It leaves me cold. So once POI is gone, CBS is going to have to come up with something wildly creative to get my interest. I'm kind of hoping Netflix or FX gets interested in POI and carries it on if season 5 ends it on CBS.
ReplyDeleteGlad NCISLA is back Sept 21 instead of a week later like last season.
ReplyDelete
