ReplyDeleteNew one is wayyy better.
ReplyDeleteShe's very "Mystique" isn't she? In the very risque way of her makeup?
ReplyDeleteGreat poster.
ReplyDeleteLooks good! Really good.
ReplyDeletethe amount of time it would have taken her to get tattooed like that is ridiculous (are they going to explain she was "missing" for months if not a year or more?) as is the idea that the tattoos can be small detail and "intricate" as the premise proffers. once it settles into the skin your begin to loose fine line/details as it softens. so small text (as we see in some images) would be almost unreadable after a few weeks let alone months.
ReplyDeleteWow you know a lot about tattoos, can someone even withstand that much pain? I mean getting tattoos hurts like a mother right? Would she have to have to been put under for get to get those tattoos?
ReplyDeleteWell considering how OTT the entire premise of the show is. My guess would be whoever did this to Jane Doe put her in a medically induced coma and did all of the tattoos in a short amount of time with multiple tattoo artists. They waited until her body healed, took her out of the coma and dropped her off in Times Square. I am sure there will be a bunch of "fun" threads on imdb complaining about the tattoos when the show premieres.
ReplyDeleteWow, Dior perfume ads are getting graphic. Who knew?
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness, fantastic poster. It will draw attention and that's exactly what it should do.
pain is subjective and putting people under, in real life, is not an option nor is numbing the area. yes, people have been know to get massive tattoos is one long session, but this is an endurance test, often done for tribal rites of passage or if you are masochist. this would also double your healing time as well.
ReplyDeleteif, the tattoos were not of her own volition, I would say, like John below suggested, she was put under to get them, but this still will not make small text readable on the skin.
yeah, its a novel if not original idea but it is pretty easy to spot fake tattoos and she is a walking billboard of it. should be interesting to see how they figure out the clues on her boobs and butt etc....
ReplyDeleteGlad they gave it a better font, the first round was so unbearably generic NBC.
ReplyDeleteHuh i never knew that wow, why would people even do that to themselves if they're not masochists? Just to see if they're strong? So getting small tattoos won't be visible by the time it heals? That's surprising, i thought it was just like you wrote something on yourself and it would just be there. Oh ok yeah that would make sense unless she had to do this and then had her memory erased.
ReplyDeleteyou can take a whole lot of sociology/anthropology courses which covers the markings on the body which can include tattooing, scaring, piercing etc... which is rather ancient and can have diverse social and cultural meanings.
ReplyDeletewell, they will be visible but hard to read if they are text and below a certain size. skin is not like paper the longer you have it the more it "settles" in and softens/blurs.
So why would people want tattoos if it "softens" or "blurs"?
ReplyDeletewell, it happens with age and you do maintenance, get re-inked, and its a form self expression and identification. why one person does it can be vastly different for why another does it.
ReplyDeleteThey'll just say all of her tattoos are recent.
ReplyDeleteJaime has such a strong presence, no matter if pics or the promos I can't get my eyes off her. Great choice for a lead.
ReplyDeleteI hope they find a nice balance between their case of the week stories and the overall mythology.
right, but that doesn't matter, you can't get fully covered with tattoos in a week or even a month. "recent" would be relative and again, you can't see ink/text that small well.
ReplyDeleteI find Jaimie very hot and for that reason xD I'll give the show a chance.
ReplyDeleteThis looks really good now that my originals has moved to another night may watch this
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how long it would be until we got a clothed Jaime Alexander in promo form!
ReplyDeleteI mean if they were running out of angles to use her naked form, they would have had to mark the promos NSFW if they used any more of that scene!
I don't remember whether they say recent or something more specific. (Saw the pilot maybe 2, 3 weeks ago) and they came with that result after analyzing her body/tattoos.
ReplyDeleteI guess the skin isn't able to handle that much ink in the body at once? I don't have a tattoo so I don't really know. (although I plan on getting some lol)
well, getting tattoos is basically piercing your skin thousands of time and the area where it is done is raw, will bleed, scab etc... doing it on a larger scale, even if one could take the pain, is a large open wound.
ReplyDeleteeven if someone could, and I stress could, get tattooed in one long go, were talking hours if not days, on even half that scale the risk of infection would be high.
Huh you're right, i was wondering why i was so mesmerized by a PICTURE of her when she's not even talking.
ReplyDeleteHow long do you think she's in make-up?
ReplyDeleteI think she said her tattoos take 2 or 3 hours to be perfectly 'applied' on her body.
ReplyDeleteYep... the bleeding and scabbing are a part of the process. Scabbing stops after, what, a month?
ReplyDeleteI guess tattoo lovers will not like this show at all.
2 or 3? Huh i would've thought it would be 4 or 5
ReplyDeleteif you are scabbing starts after a day or two at most it last a week or two, if its a month you have a problem.
ReplyDeletefake tattoos are mainly done with a kind of decal ( doubt they are hand painting everything) which make the process go faster and it would also depends on what part of her body they are going to show in an episode. whole body I would image it to be around an 1-2 hours.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually "meh" on the lot TBH...
