ABC FAMILY ANNOUNCES THE CAST OF AND STARTS PRODUCTION ON SUPERNATURAL PILOT “BEYOND”
Burbank, CA (June 23, 2015) – ABC Family announces the cast of “Beyond,” as the pilot gears up to start production next week in Vancouver, BC.
“Beyond” is a one-hour drama about a young man who wakes up from a coma after 12 years and discovers new supernatural abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy. From Imperative Entertainment and Automatik, “Beyond” is created, written and executive-produced by Adam Nussdorf (“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland”). Tim Kring (“Heroes”), Zak Kadison, Justin Levy and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones will serve as Executive Producers.
Callan McAuliffe (“Homeland,” “The Great Gatsby”) leads the series as Holden, who wakes up in a hospital not realizing he’s been in a coma for 12 years – emotionally still a teenager, physically an adult, and possibly in possession of supernatural powers. Jordan Calloway (“Switched at Birth,” “Recovery Road”) portrays Holden’s childhood best friend, Kevin, now a therapist, who is haunted by guilt after the incident that put Holden in a coma. Dilan Gwyn (“DaVinci’s Demons”) stars as Willa, a beautiful woman who appears to be interested in Holden and who warns him he is in great danger. Romy Rosemont (“Glee,” “The Fosters”) plays Holden’s mother, Diane, who has refused to give up on Holden throughout his coma and now is determined to protect him. Michael McGrady (“Ray Donovan”) costars as Holden’s father, Tom, who is emotionally withdrawn after his son’s ordeal and defers to his wife, Diane. Burkely Duffield (“The Tomorrow People”) rounds out the cast as Holden’s clever younger brother, Luke, who grew up in the shadow of his brother’s tragedy and is now faced with a brother who knows less about the world than he does.

Don't know any of those people but it sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteDon't like the cast at all.
ReplyDeleteI really like stitchers so I can only hope ABC Family can get a successful show
ReplyDeleteShow sounds interesting but I need a trailer to decide since the premise is kinda vague.
ReplyDeleteI hope Tim Kring finally has his groove back. I hope this more in the vein of Crossing Jordan. But I swear if and everybody and everything is connected and they have to save the world, I'm out.
ReplyDeleteEverything depends how they'll execute it, it could be really good or really bad The story has potential, of course depending what powers and on what basis he got them. Probably having to do something with why he was in a coma.
ReplyDeleteI havent seen the cast in anything besides Rosemont (the Fosters episodes) and the lead for his one scene in Homeland.
ReplyDeleteSo, kind of like the Dead Zone? except the conspiracy came in later on in that one.
ReplyDeleteWho was he on Homeland ? Was he Carries brother ?
ReplyDeleteYes but I did have to look that up on imdb.
ReplyDeleteABC Family cancels everything that's supernatural/fantasy/action. Those shows had potential...
ReplyDeleteLargely unknown cast, a fairly vague premise, and a less than stellar creative team makes me hesitant to get excited for this one.... Add in it's on ABCFamily whose last SciFi pilot I watched (Stichers) I consider to be one of the worst pilots I've seen in recent memory and I get even less interested.... I probably will check out the pilot, but expectations are extremely low for this one!
ReplyDeleteTotally, right! LOL
ReplyDeleteDead Zone turned into a conspiracy? I thought it was just an episodic supernatural show.
ReplyDeleteYep, i'm glad i'm not the only one who's seen the pattern
ReplyDeleteIt's a supernatural conspiracy show? Wow now i'm more interested, that means it will serialized, but i'm not holding my hopes up. After all it's supernatural and they don't last on this channel, it's Tim Kring's show? Now i'm even more cautious about it.
ReplyDeleteGood cast, decent people behind the cameras, interesting premise... If this wasn't ABCfamily I might be very interested...but because it is ABC family, i'm just gonna keep it on my radar and wait for more information.
ReplyDeleteLargely unknown cast
ReplyDeleteI've seen pretty much everyone in random things so I'm actually quite on board with the cast.
a fairly vague premise
To be fair, which supernatural show doesn't suffer from that?
The set up sounds somewhat intiguing, and I'm just holding out the mystery can live up to that.
and a less than stellar creative team
It's a hit and miss, lot, I will not, in a million years argue with that.
However when they do get it right, they're quite good IMO, so there is some hope.

100% with you on that! THIS is what prevents me the most from getting on board.
Huh and did you enjoy that?
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how time Works... At the time, I remember I really liked, most of the time, specially the first couple of seasons, but 2 or 3 ago I caught some old episodes on tv, and I was shocked I used to like it. The acting was mediocre, the dialogue was very unrealistic, and yet I remember I used to like it very much. That shows how our tastes change as we grow older, I guess.
