When Arrow kicks off its fourth season this fall, viewers will find that five to six months have passed for Oliver Queen and company since the season three finale.
During a Facebook question-and-answer session, Arrow star Stephen Amell revealed that roughly half a year will have passed since Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak drove into the sunset in May.
“Time has passed,” Amell said. “Like the standard amount of time. We go in real-time, like we normally do. So, five or six months have passed since the finale.”
Wherever time took Arrow and his world, it was enough to make Amell’s jaw drop. Twice. When a fan asked Amell if his jaw dropped while reading the season four premiere's script, Amell said it really did.
“It legitimately did,” Amell said. “I emailed [showrunner] Marc Guggenheim directly after reading the season four premiere with three or four very pointed questions. Which he answered…mostly.”

And that's what I like about Stephen, he engages with his fanbase. And the best is: he fires back unlike other celebreties, when someone does something wrong he calls them out on it and doesn't just quietly ignore it to not lose fans. Actors that did that usually got some backlash for that (Ioan Gruffud) but I really applaud them for that.

and the first thing I thought when he said "I'm so fired up" was "Well, you're doing a movie with Michael Bay and Megan Fox attatched, of course you had to join the morning blow party" (disclaimer: I'm just sarcastically suggesting that the crew of these movies in on coke, not meaning it serious in any shape or form....don't take this comment down...pluuurrrssseee)
"Jaw dropped", well that can mean a lot. I'm going to cross the classic "love interest dies" thing of the list, I get that people speculated over Felicity dying and drawing Oliver back into the game but there're dozens of reasons why that won't happen (popularity being the biggest reason). Also I doubt that a death is going to happen in episode 1, mainly because they pulled that last season
My best guess: Speedy goes on a killing spree in a Lazarus Pit induced state, thus drawing Oliver back to Starling. Ultimately he gave up his promise to Starling ("I'll never leave you again.....unless I'll get to hook up with a blonde chick in a car cuz I'm a shipper-stereotype") leaving Thea and Felicity as the last characters he gives a sh*t about (well, we might cross Thea of that list as well soon but 'ey)
I'm wondering if season 4 continues the trend of not having Malcolm appear in the season premiere but in every finale (it's a fun coincidence, he never appeared in a single season premiere but in every finale so far). Really excited for the LoA plot this year, last season was repetetive but I'm sure that the Nyssa/Malcolm plot will lead up to Saras ressurection, so the arc inbetween will be interesting to see unfold
Stephen is the best in the way he engages with the fanbase!
ReplyDeleteSo I take it the opening scene for the season premiere of Flash will be him stopping the black hole and then we get a shot with subtitle that says "5 months later" or is he gonna stop the the black hole off screen and they'll just talk about what went on? Because if not and Flash picks up right where it left off there are starting next season with timeline problems and The Flash is at some point gonna have to take a 5 month jump forward.

ReplyDeleteHis backstory was he spent five years on the island (even though that's kind of a lie considering how we've seen the flashbacks unfold thus far). After 5 years the flashbacks will lead up to the events of the pilot...so maybe no more flashbacks?

That Jaw droppers sound interesting. I like that he has an open relationship with Marc that he can send him questions like that.
My guess is that Speedy will get her a*s kicked, maybe by some thugs but maybe by some HIVE guys. Nothing to extreme. That could trigger her LP split personality disorder by the end of the episode.
The other jaw dropper I think will be related to the FB, I assume they will announce HJ or CF casting at their comic con panel.

It keeps sounding to me that they went from following the rules that the Lazarus Pit effects are temporary, to actually making them a lasting thing she'll always have. Not to mention it's finally happened that she's Speedy, and it already sounds like at the beginning of the season that's going to be screwed up.

ReplyDeleteNo just no. Not that Diggle doesn't deservesthat, but that would be a too far stretch. It won't help his character just force his story. He is a normal guy and contributes the story from that point.
ReplyDeleteOr due to the Singularity affecting the Arrowverse too Diggle was also effected by Star Labs and he became Green Lantern /Cyborg as well as he never ended up with the last name Diggle ( or the nick name ) as his father was Mr Stewart.

I think if you went through those things living on the edge and killing and all that it would make you act really different and thats how i see his character someone thats maintaining yet you can tell its messing with him the things he has to do and see and deal with. really surprised me at first is darker and believable story. just my two cents,thanks
ReplyDeleteI just hope they don't use the time between season to try and make Laurel a more important character. She's annoying and should at most serve as a recurring character. Or maybe the jaw-dropping was caused by her death, that would be great.
