DAY 7! (Results from yesterday can be found here.)

The rules are as follows:
1. Two episodes go head to head for 24 hours. The episode that emerges as winner will go through to the next round.
2. Vote for your favourite episode, and tell us what you voted for.
3. Tell others about the competition! Social media is your best friend in this competition if you want your favourite episode to win.
4. Be respectful. This is a competition, but be friendly. Let's not have any abuse directed at any person, fandom or show, as we've had on occasion in the past.

Today's opening battle sees The 100's terrific second season finale take on Better Call Saul's spectacular 'Five-O'. Fargo's season finale, 'Morton's Fork' then faces 'The Answer' from ABC comedy The Middle. Scandal's midseason premiere, 'Run', goes up against The Flash's portion of the crossover between the speedster-show and Arrow. Finally, The Blacklist's second season finale goes head-to-head with Supernatural's 200th episode.

The draw:

Don’t forget to share the post; the more people vote, the more chance your episode has of winning!

Check back tomorrow for the next set of polls from round 1!

  1. 1. The 100, Blood must have blood part 2
    2. N/A
    3. Scandal, Run sorry Flash
    4. N/A

I have explained many times why blood must have blood part 2 is my favorite episode of the 100 ever. It broke me inside, completely! It was so brilliantly written, I have no idea how they did that. Knockin on heavens door was the perfect choice!

Even though i did not like this season of scandal at all, Run was truely an amazing episode. I had nor had that feeling after watching scandal for a long time but My heart was pounding the whole time and kerry washington was amazing!

  2. Supernatural, The Flash, The Middle, and Better Call Saul for me.

    ReplyDelete
  3. 1) The 100 "Blood Must Have Blood Part 2" - Loved this episode, my favourite episode of last season from any show. I've never watched Better Call Saul
    2) Nothing - Never watched Fargo or The Middle
    3) Nothing - Dropped both Scandal and The Flash
    4) Nothing - Dropped both The Blacklist and Supernatural

  4. The 100: Blood Must Have Blood Part 2
The Middle: The Answer (Even though I love Fargo)

    ReplyDelete
  5. You drop many shows :D

    ReplyDelete
  6. Oh no so sad to see Better Call Saul up against The 100! Voted voted for BCS because it broke my heart and was up there was the best of Breaking Bad.

In the second poll my vote goes to Fargo even if I do like the Middle a lot.

  7. 1) Blood Must Have Blood Part 2.It is by default since I don't watch Better Call Saul but it was such a phenomenal episode that I think I would support it regardless
    2) Nothing
    3) This is one of my favorite Scandal episodes and probably the best of the forth season but the flarrow crossover was some of my favorite television moments of the entire year and probably beyond that. I wish I could support both but I have to go with Flarrow here
    4) The Blacklist by default

    ReplyDelete
  8. The 100
    Fargo
    The Flash
    Supernatural

    Today is a good day.

  9. That episode shows why I think she deserves an Emmy nomination this year despite the lackluster season of Scandal. She was phenomenal the entire year despite the lower material and that episode is the biggest proof of that. I loved the episode, even if I had to go with Flarrow here.

    ReplyDelete
  10. That Better Call Saul episode, giving us Mike's background, was fantastic, but requires a full appreciation of the show it sprang from, Breaking Bad.

Fargo's Morton's Fork was the show's finale. Again, viewers would have to have watched the story in its entirety to appreciate this complex ending.

These two shows get my votes.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I really think she deserves at least a nomination but also for the mid-season finale where she yelled at cyrus.

I just could not vote for flarrow because sometimes i prefer to vote for the "realistic" dramas. Do you know what i mean?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Lol yup, I watch a lot of shows so dropping many has become pretty common. I think I drop about half the shows I watch each year now, the number has been going up each year, mainly because the amount of shows I watch has gone way up each year for the last few years. I only count it as dropped if I watched at least 4 episodes. Like I watched the pilot for Fargo but knew it wasn't for me and didn't continue.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Not sure I understand. Realistic isn't really the word I would use to describe the Scandal episode. Maybe not sci-fi is what you mean? I think both were excellent and it truly is a matter of personal preference here.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The100! Amazing episode.
Kerry Washington delivered an Emmy worthy performance in "Run" but Flash vs Arrow was the event of the season and my nerdgasm has to vote Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Lol yeah that is what i meant :D sometimes i prefer the non- sci/fi shows but i agree, both were excellent! Even though i preferred the arrow part of the crossover

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh okay well i did the same at one point. Only watch the shows you actually like ;)

    ReplyDelete
  17. You're not alone. I've dropped so many, I can't remember them all. There is too much greatness on TV now to watch something that irritates you more than it entertains you.
I just dropped Hannibal, and I won't be back for GoT, Arrow (?) or Outlander. Others I dropped in the past year:The Blacklist, Sleepy Hollow, Agents of Shield (2x), NCIS-LA,Gotham, Bates Motel, American Horror Story.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Wow that is a lot! I dropped gotham in mid-season and never had the Desire to return so that is fine for me. I dropped arrow and then Picked it up again to also be disappointed again. However, I have faith on the writers that next season will be great again.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I loved the 100's finale, but considering that it's not going to have any problem getting through I went for Better Call Saul, which was one of my favourite episodes of any show so far this year. No problem voting for Flash vs Arrow, which was great fun.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I tried to like Gotham but I just don't. I'm iffy on Arrow. I like a dark Oliver. If they make the show cutsey or cheesy, I'm done. Green Arrow is not all sunshine and rainbows. I have Barry for cute, Barry and Joe for emotional gut-wrenching and Barry and Cisco for a friendship.
I love Diggle and will miss him most if I do drop it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Agreed but i do not think they will make the show really light. I just want season 1 and 2 quality and Tone back!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Better Call Saul and The Middle!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yh sometimes when I start a new show, or shows, they set the bar higher for the rest of the shows and some just don't make the cut, that's why I didn't go back to Outlander in the 2nd half.

I only throw on Hannibal now if there's nothing else to watch. In the last year I've dropped Power, Gotham, The Flash, Outlander, Finding Carter, Helix, Red Band Society, Teen Wolf, Resurrection, Atlantis and Black-ish.

Then there's the old shows that I started binge-watching and eventually dropped: The Blacklist, Scandal, Gossip Girl, True Blood, Lost, Heroes, Farscape and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Game of Thrones.

A long list I know and I'm proabably forgetting some too! I'm also considering dropping Agents of SHIELD and Sleepy Hollow.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Better Call Saul-Five-O.Sorry The 100.
    The Flash-Flash Vs. Arrow.
    The Blacklist-Tom Connolly.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You should give Better Call Saul a try.Amazing show, even better acting!

    ReplyDelete
  26. The 100, The Flash and The Blacklist.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Better Call Saul, Fargo, The Flash and Supernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Poll 1: Better Call Saul because Mike. That is all.

    Poll 2: Fargo by default.

Poll 3: Scandal. It was among the better episodes of Season 4 and pretty much everything that followed it was a hot mess.

Poll 4: The Blacklist because I remember more about that episode than about Supernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ironic that The Flash's episode is in a poll up against an episode titled "Run".

    ReplyDelete
  30. The Blacklist and Fargo

    ReplyDelete
  31. Game of Thrones and Outlander. Any reasons why you dropped them?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I haven't dropped many shows, mainly because I don't watch too much. Some shows I'm dropping/ or dropped are:
Arrow (Olicity central, no thanks!), Elementary, Resurrection.

I'm considering dropping American Horror Story after the awful 4th Season and Sleepy Hollow.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Agreed abour arrow! However, I will watch the first few episodes of season 4 and then i will make the decision

    ReplyDelete
  34. I wasn't a huge fan of Arrow to begin with but Season 3 was it for me. The poor storylines etc. Also, I just can't stand Felicity (Never really liked her) and all the shipping that comes with the show.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Arrow had too much Olicity for my taste in season 2! But that's not the only reason I dropped it. I think I'll always try each season of AHS since each one is different but I haven't liked the last 2 seasons which isn't a good sign.

  36. Goodbye Revenge, ∞x∞June 21, 2015 at 6:56 PM

    1.) None
2.) Never saw Fargo so I had to go with the Middle
3.) Easy vote for me For the Flash. For me scandal season 4 was the worst yet and this particular episode was one of my least favorites. On the other hand I loved the emigre season of the flash including this fantastic episode!
    4.) None

    ReplyDelete
  37. The 100 (best episode of the series) and The Flash (such a fun episode) for me today.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Better Call Saul - This was one of the best episodes of the year for me and it deserves my vote even though i really enjoyed The 100 as well

Fargo - That was a very easy choice, Fargo was brilliant and this was it's best episode.

    The Flash - Well that's a no-brainer

    ReplyDelete
  39. The more I watch and think about the season 2 finale of The 100, the less I am satisfied with it. It's actually one of my least favorite episodes of season 2. Therefore I am not voting in the first poll. It will win without my vote. I was not thrilled by Supernatural's Fan Fiction either, although the acapella version of Carry On Wayward Son was pretty sweet. The only episode here I can truly give my vote to without hesitation is The Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Sleepy Hollow and SHIELD are going for me for sure. If it weren't so much for to live tweet Grimm, it would be out the door as well. Elementary gets 1-2 episodes from me to see where this convoluted new storyline is going and so I can see John Noble again. It might be done after that. I would go on but this will be a TV Talk Topic in a couple weeks so I'll save a few thoughts for then.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Why did you not like the 100? I though it was pure excellence

    ReplyDelete
  42. The 100 (!!!) & The Flash & Supernatural

    ReplyDelete
  43. Spacewalker was so much better and I think we had the same issues with the finale. I did love that Bellamy and Octavia had moments to shine and Lincoln got his revenge. It had it's moments but overall, it was weaker than most of S2.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I find myself dreading the story. When I have to force myself to watch, it's time to drop it, or at least take a break. I'll probably end up binge watching Outlander next season but I think I'm done with GoT for good.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Fargo and The Blacklist.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I dropped Shield but went back, only to drop it again. I'm not going to lie, it's all Skye. I don't like the story, the actress, the character, any of it having to do with her. If it hadn't been shoved down my throat to the point of rolling my eyes every time I saw her onscreen, maybe it wouldn't have seemed so bad.
Sleepy Hollow hurts me. For a show that was so near perfect in S1, I'll never forgive the writers for S2 and for letting Orlando go before S3.
I'll have to gather my thoughts for the TV Topic. It's going to be a long one!

    ReplyDelete
  47. The 100, The Flash, and Supernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Better Call Saul, Fargo & Flash for me today.

    ReplyDelete
  49. What is the TV talk topic?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Have to agree with you about BCS. Five-O was just sheer brilliance, Jonathan Banks blew me away in that episode.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I had to drop Hannibal last year for what sounds like such a stupid reason, but it was really becoming a problem for me. The background music brings on migraines, which are something I suffer from quite badly and frequently anyway, it's just too disjointed and loud for me. I'm gutted though as I really do enjoy the series, but I can't even get through a whole episode in one go without an aura starting up :/

    ReplyDelete
  52. The 100, Scandal and The Middle.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Someone who voted scandal! Yay

    ReplyDelete
  54. Well I don't watch the Flash so I had to vote for Scandal. I would've voted for it anyway even if it were against another show I watch.

    ReplyDelete
  55. That is great :) I really loved "Run"!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I know what you mean but definitely not with Game of thrones

    ReplyDelete
  57. That's not a stupid reason. I'm sorry you go through that. I hope there is medicine/home remedy that helps you.
Mine is silly. I love the acting and I love the way it's filmed. It's just too dark for me. Which I find odd because I love dark toned TV. There are only so many instances of cooking and eating another human being I'm willing to sit through. No matter how fantastic Mads Mikkelsen is. It becomes redundant and cringeworthy instead of compelling.
I think that's a big reason it doesn't have better ratings too. I think it would have been an amazing mini/limited series but to carry on season after season, sooner or later, the theme will get to you.

    ReplyDelete
  58. That's what we call the daily topic during the Character Cup.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ohh okay. I have only been here for 6 months so many things are still New to me :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. That's my whole problem with SHIELD too. My dislike of Skye has now outweighed my love for May's character and it's no longer worth it to me. Skye is a Super Special Snowflake character and we can't go two episodes without the writers reminding us of how special she is and insisting that we love her too. She's been shoved down my throat one too many times to. If she ever left SHIELD, I would probably pick it back up. That's why I'm so disappointed that the spin-off didn't go through. I will miss Bobbi, Hunter, and Mac too.

Sleepy Hollow did what I did not think was possible. It screwed up a phenomenal series so badly that it went from my #1 anticipated show to complete misery having to dreg through season 2. It even made Teen Wolf's 4th season look like a masterpiece in comparison and you know what a trainwreck I thought that season was. I am so thoroughly disgusted with the fan pandering and terrible writing on Sleepy Hollow that even if people start raving about it again, I'm not picking it up.

    ReplyDelete
  61. It only started last year when we brought back the Character Cup. If you have any hot topics you want to discuss, leave them here or e-mail me at dahne@spoilertv.com. We are getting a good list plus the ones we didn't get to last time.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Agreed all the way around. This season should have ended with the penultimate episode instead because it was way more action packed and cohesive. The finale suffers in comparison to the penultimate (which should never happen) and it most definitely suffers when looking at the season 1 finale. If I didn't have such high expectations for The 100 I probably would have like this one better but it was a disappointing end to a great season.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I thought it was very weak compared to the penultimate episode and nowhere near the quality of the season 1 finale. I found it boring in some places and it had almost zero action. The big genocide resolution felt gratuitous, especially since no thought was put into other solutions. That was a problem was the penultimate episode too in all honesty. It feels like the writers were trying to go for the biggest shock value for the sake of shock value alone. I can take The 100 dark. I can take violence. I can't take gratuitous. Instead of edgy like they were going for, it came off as half-baked and poorly plotted just to see how dark they could make Clarke's life and not worthy of the writers' previously excellently planned season.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I haven't either. The first two seasons were the best, it went downhill from there. Perhaps the new cast will make the new season better than the last.

    ReplyDelete
  65. When she posts the CC polls, she adds a TV Topic (of the day) that we can talk about in the comments along with who we voted for. It's some fun discussion.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Jason tweeted out this poll so its a little unfair haha and although BCS is on my list my vote goes to Blood Must Have Blood Part 2. Excellence all around & Eliza Taylor!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Cheers :) Yeah, I have some meds for it, it's one of the symptoms of my MS, but it seems to be one that is getting harder to control as time goes on. It just sounds like a silly reason to not watch a show if you don't understand the reasoning behind it I think, lol. Saying a show gives me a headache sounds ridiculous, but there's more to it than that, if you get me?

I understand you're reasoning too, it's one of the things that concerned me from the start of the series really. The reason the Anthony Hopkins films worked for me was that he was an almost invisible threat for much of them, with the focus on Will/Clarice more. Mads Mikkelsen is brilliant in the role, but over used a bit perhaps in the show, which lessens the over all effect.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Oh okay cool!! I have a few things. I will Send it to you tomorrow

    ReplyDelete
  69. Between voting for the Teen Choice, Eonline and STV, the fans have their hands full and fingers busy. I'm only voting here. I'm not a fan of Eonline polls or the Teen Choice.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Just The 100 and The Flash. Both episodes were masterpieces.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I'm about to unfollow him.... again. I can't take the shipping polls haha I'm all for voting for things that matter with the show, but ships on the 100 is so low on my list of things that make it awesome.. or that I think are worthy promotion. I do ship... but I'd rather vote here, for Eliza&Bob, and a Clarke/Anya fight if I have to delegate my time lol

    ReplyDelete
  72. Voted, the 100, The Middle and Scandal

    ReplyDelete
  73. I probably liked Arrow's part more but I don't know, I watched them straight up, one after the other so it was really like an event and is hard to separate one from the other to me !

    ReplyDelete
  74. You know the issue I have with Breaking Bad :P

    ReplyDelete
  75. Me too and plus, I don't care how nice they say he is, he is very biased towards those shippers. It irks me. He'll retweet and/or respond to those questions but ignore valid ones about the show itself.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Voted Better Call Saul in what is most definitely a losing effort. I did love The 100's finale but that episode of BCS was just stunning.

Also went with The Flash and The Blacklist.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Exactly haha. I'm much more interested about each characters storylines moving forward than whether so and so will reunite or how they feel about each other. Interpersonal relationships are obviously an aspect of the show as they should be, but I'd say with artificial intelligence, lies about a massacre, the fallout of genocide are much more relevant to each character right now

    ReplyDelete
  78. Although it is officially a spin-off of BB,it's a show of it's own.Trust me on this.At least try the pilot.I sat through the pilot of Scorpion & Aquarius on your recommendation even though it was a torture to me.It's only fair you give this one a try :P

    ReplyDelete
  79. my first actual difficult decision (Between Scandal and Flash) I went with Flash for the fun factor.

Also picked Supernatural. One of the stand alone MOTW eps that was actually fun.
    Hmmm

The Word of the Day is: fun :-)

    ReplyDelete
  80. SUPERNATURAL, SUPERNATURAL, SUPERNATURAL !!!!

    ReplyDelete
  81. The 100, Fargo, Scandal (hard choice), Loved both Blacklist and SPN

    ReplyDelete
  82. Ahah I know I owe you some. I have such a huge to watch list though. And I started on The Last Ship yesterday which got me hooked and which is what I am watching tonight by the way. What is Better Call Saul even about? I never even checked since I really didn't like Breaking Bad so I wasn't interested in that one at all from the get go by definition.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Set in 2002, Better Call Saul follows the story of small-time lawyer James Morgan "Jimmy" McGill (Bob Odenkirk), six years before his appearance on Breaking Bad as Saul Goodman; events after the original series are briefly explored.
BTW,just finished BSG pre-season 1 mini series movie event.I wasn't blown away but it was good enough.I'm going to keep watching.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'l be really disappointed if The Middle loses. What a great episode. Eden Sher should win an Emmy for her performance in it.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I had seen that description but that really doesn't tell me much. Is it a lawyer show then?

Well, considering our horrible track record, I think "good enough to keep watching" is a positive ahah. I enjoyed the mini series much but probably even more so in hindsights. 33 (the first episode of season 1) is great though, maybe that increases your excitement. Let me know how is it going.

    ReplyDelete
  86. It's about a lawyer's personal life and journey up close but not a law procedural.Confused yet?LOL!
As for BSG,it's only a start.I'll give season 1 a full try, then i'll decide to watch further or drop it.

    ReplyDelete
  87. A 1 season try is good enough for me ;) I trust that you wil lfind the light during the period.

As for BCS, yes, confused ahah. I will consider it in my orbit, but there is so much I want to get through first that I am not sure it's worth promising much. I haven't even finished all my in-season shows (which I want to do), I am doing The Last Ship now, and I already want to do Extant, Daredevil, Sense8, Bloodline, Bates Motel and Penny Dreadful later in some sort of order (Drama wise, there is also comedy!). And summer shows are heating up too. Lol! Tough!

    ReplyDelete
  88. My vote:

    1. N/A

    2. N/A

    3. The Flash - Flash vs. Arrow (I really enjoyed all the verbal sparring between Barry and Oliver. This episode had some great one liners too.)

    4. N/A

  89. Better Call Saul and The Blacklist

    ReplyDelete
  90. It sucks that Five - 0 is facing the 100 in the 1st round.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Five - 0 was absolutely brilliant and one of my favorite episodes of the year.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I absolutely love Bates Motel & Daredevil as u probably already know.I also enjoyed Sense8 very much.Rest of the shows u mentioned aren't my cup of tea especially Penny Dreadful.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Yes I know those are must wathes for you, so I think you won't hold it against me that I prioratize them :P

    ReplyDelete
  94. That second sentence could have been written by me entirely!!

    ReplyDelete
  95. I definitely won't.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I almost never drop a show. Usually, if I make it past the first half of a season or so of a show I will stick with it. Especially because at some point what keeps me coming back are the characters and those tend to remain. So I am a pretty loyal viewer. I did drop Castle after last season but I was really bored with it so it had to happen. I dropped House after the unmitigated disaster known as Season 7 but when I heard that Season 8 was the last I went back and watched it to in time for the finale (And it was actually miles better than Season 7 so I am glad I did it).

    ReplyDelete
  97. For the record, American Horror Story's 5th season is supposed to be the most different from the previous seasons according to the creators. Jessica' absence should also add to that. This could be for the better or worse though.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I almost never drop a show. Usually, if I make it past the first half of a season or so of a show I will stick with it. Especially because at some point what keeps me coming back are the characters and those tend to remain. So I am a pretty loyal viewer.
Same here. Plus, with some shows, I'm horribly late in getting into them in the first place, and wind up becoming a fan, like, halfway through their run, or in the latter seasons, so I've already had enough time to play catch up and see all the ups and downs of the series up to that point, and if I like the show enough to do all that catching up, I figure it makes sense to just keep watching from there.
And I just figure that since pretty much almost every series has its highs and lows, it doesn't bother me to sit through the "lows" as much as it does some other people. If nothing else, watching those "lows" can get my imagination/writing skills going in terms of, "Wow, I would've gone a whole other direction with that story/character/etc." and I get to play "what if" for a while as I'm watching. Which is kinda fun :D. And even when a show isn't having a great season I can still manage to find occasional episodes or scenes that I really liked, so that's enough to salvage things for me.
All of that being said, though, I certainly understand why some people do drop shows, and if a show honestly isn't doing it for you anymore, I think that's a very wise decision. It's pointless to waste time on things you don't like, after all. Plus, by doing that, the people who do still like the show can enjoy it, those who don't don't have to watch it, and everyone's happy :).

    ReplyDelete
  99. I agree with everything you've said. And surely I wasn't trying to imply that people shouldn't give up on shows if they really aren't doing it for them, just that for me, much like for you, I always find something about the shows that I enjoy enough to keep watching. And on top of that, like you've also said, I find that shows that decline one season often recover the next and vice-versa, so I prefer to stick around for the ride than to give up entirely - if the show has already done something that I liked enough to stick around to begin with, then it will probably do it again at some point. There are very few shows that have consistently gone down in quality one season after the other for me.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Oh, no, yeah, I know that wasn't implied in your comments :). But yeah, I am glad that others share my attitude about TV shows, too, 'cause I hear so many people talk about giving up on shows and it just struck me how common that was once I got online, 'cause our family was the sort that just watched shows through to their conclusions so I just got used to that :p. If we ever DID lose track of a show it was because we suddenly found ourselves without the channel it aired on or we were without TV in general for one reason or another for a period of time. But once we were able to pick up where we left off, we always did.

if the show has already done something that I liked enough to stick around to begin with, then it will probably do it again at some point.
Precisely :). Even if all that's keeping me watching through a show's rough period is the fact that I happen to like one or more of the actors/actresses on the show, or something like that, that's still something that makes it worth my time. I'll still critique what I don't care for, sure, because that's important, too. It is very frustrating when you know a show can do better than whatever bad episodes/seasons it puts out.
But I guess I just view the making of a show like any other job-it has its good days and its bad days and writers/crew/cast aren't always "on" every day just like I'm not always "on" at my job every day, so I'll just see where things go from there.
