I’ll say it again, Daredevil :) I just love it. The writing, performances, atmosphere and action are just incredible. But I also absolutely love The Flash, it’s had an incredibly good first season with amazingly heartfelt performances and amazing CGI scenes. So Flash and Daredevil for me :)
Honorabale Mention: Agent Carter, Peggy is the most inspiring character, “I know my value.” I love her interactions with Jarvis and Angie. So excited for Season 2 :D
I do enjoy Agents of SHIELD and Arrow too :)
Gotham…. Needs more direction, maybe if they dug more into the comic mythology more like the other comic book shows it would be better. However aesthetically the show is beautiful.
Favorite Arrow! They had some issues this season but hoping they will get back on track. And than a huge tie between Carter, DD and Flash. And than Shield and Gotham on last place, me with not even watching Shield. That disappointing is Gotham
But i watch all of these Arrow - 2 seasons were amazing, 3rd was huge decrease in quality, i hope it can bounce back Flash - it is amazing, my only issue is that main hero has to be in love with his best friend Shield - RN it is amazing, after boring 1,5 seasons, Season 2B was AWESOME Carter - One of the biggest surprises of the season, just amazing Gotham - Slow at first, but i really loved 2nd half Daredevil - I am only 5 episodes in, Episodes 1,2,5 were amazing but episodes 3 and 4 were boring
I agree on you with Gotham. I loved the 2nd half much more than the 1st half. I gave up with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. halfway through season 1 because it was boring but I've been told that season 2 is a huge improvement on the first season.
I watch almost the shows listed (and iZombie which is noticeably missing) with the exception of Agent Carter. My order would go like this Daredevil, The Flash, iZombie, Gotham, Agents Of SHIELD, Arrow.
Of those I watch all oft them. I am most passionate for Arrowhead AoS. The Flash had the best plot writing this season and Gotham created such an amazing own world. Fell asleep after five minutes of Daredevils first episode.
Many people were saying it improved at the beginning of S2, but i thought first 8 episodes were still boring, but after that, the quality improved like 1000%, i started liking all characters and a lot of new amazing characters were introduced
It actually starts to improve a lot right at the point when you quit, halfway through Season 1. Episodes 10-16 shows gradual improvement, but it's in episode 17 that the show REALLY finds its groove and becomes amazing, when the consequences of Captain America: The Winter Soldier turn the AoS world upside down. I recommend putting up with what you have left until episode 17 because it's worth it, from that point on the show is great; in Season 2 it's even better.
Re Gotham I completely agree, it is boring more than it is exciting and whilst it has done a lot to improve on the weird tonal shifts of the earlier episodes sometimes it is still a weird mix of silly and then horrifically violent (like the serial killer arc). It doesn't really know what it wants to be and keeps adding in all the Batman villains, instead it should focus on one or two.
AoS & AC. Followed by the Flash and then Arrow. I haven't watched Daredevil yet so that could change and I stopped watching Gotham halfway through. I may go back and catch up over the summer. I'm also really enjoying iZombie.
I would have to go with Agents of Shield. Despite the boring and horrible season yesterday I went back and watched the season finale and was pleasantly surprised. I'm really happy with where they went with the show and will start watching again. I don't watch any of the other shows. Should I give the flash or arrow a try?
My ranking 1. Arrow 2. Flash 3. Agent Carter 4. iZombie 5. Agents of Shield 6. Daredevil
Arrow is still my favorite and I care about characters on Arrow more than any other show. Flash would have won had the character of Barry Allen undergone any transformation or growth through out the season. Whatever you may say about Arrow Oliver always grows in every season. So does other characters on the show even though the journey is some times skewed :)
AC is my spirit animal. I will go down with Peggy.
iZombie is such a surprise love for me. Its almost like Leverage where I adore every one of the character including the villain Blaine. Also every show should look into iZombie to see how a pre destined love interest is done.
MAoS deserves more credit than it gets. Show has improved so much. It felt a bit over crowded this season. My dislike for Coulson as the main character and lackbof development for Simmons is the reason why the show is so low. As much as I like Mac, Bobbi and Hunter I want the original guys to be featured more.
Daredevil is cinematic perfection. Yet it is a bit too dark and slow for me at times. But it is a great show.
Gotham and Powers don't make the list. I gave up on both.
My own issues with it are it doesn't really seem to know what kind of show it wants to be, which is OK for the first half of a season but after 22 episodes it should know. It is all over the place, sometimes its ridiculously over the top, sometimes very grim and violent.
It has way too many characters and keeps adding in Batman villains but no real reason - Ivy is a good example. I think they should focus on Penguin and maybe Riddler.
And often the case of the week is so predictable and boring.
Some positives though - Bullock has become more likable and less of a cliched brutish officer of the law, David Mazouz has improved a lot as Bruce and the plots that focus on Bruce, Alfred and Selina are much more engaging now.
There is a really long review in the comment section. if you ask me, watch Agent Carter and Daredevil, but I am ready to bet that others would vote for Arrow and Flash. It's actually a matter of taste. If you are really, really into melodrama, Arrow and Flash are the shows for you.
I meant Major who already had a relationship with Liv. We never saw them falling in love. But they are treating him right. Neither Liv nor Major are hung up on each other yet they are in each others lives and support each other. Also they have really worked with Major and he is now an integral part in the shows main story line.
That is where other DC shows failed in Laurel and Iris. They were pre destined love interests. Heroes fell in love with them before the pilot and we never got to see that journey like in iZombie. But where in iZombie the relationship or the lack there of works.. it didn't work in both Arrow and The Flash. And I kept wondering why is Oliver in love with Laurel or viceversa or why is Barry in love with Iris. I always complained I needed to see them fall in love to be invested or believe in their feelings. But in iZombie's case I don't need to see the first love days of Liv and Major.
It's a real shame. Unlike a lot of people, I thought the show had heaps of potential from the get go - I like the idea of seeing how pre-Batman Gotham came to be (as my love for AoS will attest to, I don't need costumed superheroes in my entertainment, I need a good story with interesting characters). Also, I never found Jim or Ben McKenzie's performance bland and dull. I think it's nice to have a hero who's a "true blue", as it were, since the trend these days is dark and damaged heroes or even anti-heroes.
Unfortunately, the show is all over the place. What the hell happened to the Wayne murders, anyway? How is it possible to make so little traction in the issue of the corruption in Wayne Enterprises (which I assume has to do with the murders, but who knows with how little it's been developed) over an entire season? Where are Montoya and Allen? So much time, sometimes whole episodes, spent on bizarre and irrelevant subplots. Ultimately, to even have anything remotely interesting take place in the finale, they had to set up the gang war at the last minute in a rather silly way (Maroni launches all-out war against his arch enemy without even bothering to make sure Falcone was really the one who ordered his assassination? ANY hitman can say, "Falcone sent me". I would expect a guy who made it to the top of the criminal underworld to be a little smarter and not accept everything at face value.)
And then you have other issues like the way that pretty much EVERY EPISODES repeats the formula of Jim going against the system while Bullock and Essen try to talk him out of it. It's really gotten repetitive, and since Bullock was already helping Jim (against his better judgment) as early as "Penguin's Umbrella", it's not like we're making actual progress in character development. Hey, speaking of development, where exactly did Selina helping Fish, someone she met 2 weeks before, in the finale come from? Let's not even talk about the hideous makeover further.
Sorry for the rant. I'm just frustrated, it could've been a great show but devolved into a mess.
This is so hard... but I think I'll go Daredevil; it just feels so awesome, even though I love both The Flash and Agent Carter so much. I also like Agents of Shield, but not to the same degree as the others. It's the one I like the least, even though I like it a lot. And Arrow S3 was a huge let down for me, so it can't be my favorite
I think Barry grew he became more assertive, confident and learned to accept his mom's death. Not as much as Oliver has grown but he doesn't have severe mental trauma. Agreed though about Shield. Even more so as I can't form a attachment to these guys, unlike Flash or Arrow characters. Gotham yeah really, really dropped the ball.
I agree about Laurel, but Iris I get that. She's caring, sweet, fun, attractive, intelligent, diligent and honestly surprisingly badass. No question why he's into her personally.
Yeah, female characters in both quality and quantity is another reason why I think the Marvel shows have the edge for me (well, Daredevil less so than AoS and AC, although it isn't doing that badly). AoS passes the Bechdel test nearly every week, often with flying colors. The women are just as well-developed and interesting as the men and occupy just as many of the important roles in the story. AC has a harder time in that aspect because a major POINT in the show is that women struggled for parity in 1946, but in addition to the strong female lead, it's also given the lead a female friend with whom she has a thoroughly positive relationship (it's sad how this is something to be praised, but with so many shows writing bitchy women who compete over men...) as well as a worthy female antagonist who's a fairly interesting character in her own right. On the DD front, I think Karen, Claire, Marcy and even Madame Gao have been reasonably well-written. The only one I have a real problem with is Vanessa because good God, I hate women on TV who are THAT blinded by the men they have the hots for.
Then you have the DC shows. Arrow - as you say, the less said about what Felicity has become due to Olicity the better. Every other sentence she gets out is either a self-righteous dig at Oliver, or crying about not having Oliver. Thea's entire arc this season was based on the stupidity of her relationship with her "father", and for the love of God, show, can you at least add "biological" before that instead of pretending that Malcolm Merlyn is her real father and forgetting one Robert Queen? Laurel became an insta-badass for the sake of slavish loyalty to the comics - by the end of the season she was duking it out with LoA members, seriously. Nyssa, Lyla and Tatsu are decent supporting characters but don't really get much development. To Arrow's credit, the third season DID improve a lot in the Bechdel aspect... too bad everything else went to hell. I somehow forced myself through the entire season but there's no way I'm returning for the fourth. The Flash - has exactly 2 prominent females, and one of them is 99% love interest. They've had a few female villains, all of them one-dimensional and forgettable in my opinion. Rarely ever passes Bechdel. I'm not even going to talk about Gotham since everyone seems to hate that show anyway - I don't, but I feel like it's not even close to realizing its potential so I'm probably done with it, like Arrow. It's not exactly full of strong, well-developed or interesting women, though.
They have been best friends their whole lives, they grew up together and she is very supportive of him. Laurel on the other hand I can't understand her relationship with Oliver because there was not one single good thing about it. He cheated on her repeatedly, got a girl pregnant, ran away (in a way) with HER SISTER and just the thought of committing to her and living together made him run to the nearest exit. I find it impossible to believe that these were the actions of a man in love.
I disagree with that comparison too. The stories were influenced by Batman's mythology but Oliver Queen is not Bruce Wayne. And as dark as Arrow has gotten Batman's world is still way darker.
I'm going to have to disagree about the lack of development of Simmons. On the contrary, in my opinion, the show had the courage to have her become darker and sometimes unlikable to the audience as a result of the hardships she's gone through. One thing I admire AoS for is that every character has grown and changed since the beginning, and the growth is realistic when you consider their journey: they aren't just pawns being moved across the board, which is something I feel some shows do with their characters.
I get that Iris is a great person. I also can see some how that Barry developed feelings for her. But the amount of pining he did for her, going to her in his suit and flirting with her, especially that dialogue to Joe where he says "Iris and I have these moments which makes me think today she will see me differently" while she is in a committed relationship with another great guy and never gave any indication of having any feelings for Barry made it look a bit obsessive. Then there was the whole Linda Park arc and Iris's behavior during that.
In comparison Major and Liv in iZombie clearly still have feelings for each other yet they give each other space and be in each other's life too. It is one of the most healthy pre established but not happening now relationship I have seen. Also Major way cooler than Iris and Laurel in season 1 with his story arc and development and is in no way defined by his relationship with Liv.
Agreed. And then he starts fawning over Laurel (I get wanting to make amends but he was basically a stalker for a while) and again acting like a dbag by having sex with her after telling Tommy to fight for her. I like Laurel (didn't before three) and love Oliver but I'm glad it ended. It was toxic.
Its not just about mental trauma. Its about moral dilemma too. Barry never had any serious moral crisis except for the finale. I don't consider using Captain Cold for help to transfer the prisoners too much of a moral crisis even though the show tried to paint it that way and crap on Oliver while they are at it. Even if we take out the whole killing thing and him growing from that to a hero from season 1 of Arrow Oliver had to face the fact that his mother was a killer, he had to face a huge fight with Diggle with that Deadshot episode, his failing his first fight with Dark Archer was such a turning point for him and it resonated the whole season. Where as Barry lost his powers for just one half of an episode and it was tied up in the same one. I agree Barry had a huge moral crisis in the season finale and it was done really well. But I wish there were some other thread that we got to see grow through out the season.
Wow, thank you! I do love writing about and analyzing TV.
It's funny, while I'm not an Olicity shipper I never full-on objected to the relationship. I said it would depend on how it was written. And sadly, I found the writing awful in Season 3. Felicity's whole life seemed to become about Oliver, I was so sick of hearing a dramatic speech every 5 minutes about how much she loves him. And the first-time sex right after they bring Oliver's sister back from the dead (okay, she technically wasn't dead... whatever), seriously? Also, the show made such a big deal about how Oliver's plan betrayed the team's trust, but in the end Felicity and he ride off into the sunset as though nothing happened. She thought he was killing her like a day or two before! That's just not believable. Hence my biggest problem (among many) with Arrow, the characters feel more like pawns than real human beings, their feelings and their actions are spur-of-the-moment depending on the needs of the plot. Whereas AoS, on balance, feels very consistent to me with its characters, and that's a major strength.
It's kind of odd, because I thought Arrow was amazing, not just good, in early Season 2 (oh, those days when Sara was first introduced... sigh). It's done a complete 180 in the relatively short time since.
I have to disagree here. Yes her strong stand against people of power and even Skye was a change in her. But we established that earlier on in the season and that's it there was not much else to it. Fitz on the other hand started as a broken man in the beginning but he became more confident in his abilities by the end of the season. Skye changed of course. Even May got an arc where she came to terms with what happened in her past and she decided to live her life. But Simmons was stuck imo. But on the whole AoS second half blew it out of the park. It deserves way more recognition.
It wasn't earlier in the season, though. It happened after the halfway point, when Skye got her powers. I think what Simmons was doing in the first half, being undercover at Hydra, contributed to that because when you're in such a hard environment you become survivalist. She became somewhat like the enemy she was fighting against. And then you have Trip dying in the midseason finale, as a result of the same alien powers/tech. The way Simmons told Skye, in tears, about how they had to collect his fragments, obviously also played a part in her feelings about "Gifteds" - and then we saw that change play out over the second half of the season. However, she wasn't as bigoted and ruthless as Gonzales, she wasn't trying to put Skye down or anything - so it's not like the change was extreme and unbelievable. To me, they developed her well: we saw exactly what brought her to that point.
Well moral threads like that are less common and will be (and should be) the Flash is lighter, of a more silver age. More internal conflict would be nice, but I don't think it's fair
Just The Flash for me. I want to vote for Arrow, but after the mess that was season 3, I really can't. If it were up to seasons 1 and 2, it would be my favourite.
Exactly, Graydon, exactly. I used to hate Laurel in seasons 1 and 2, more in 2 than 1 because in season 1 Tommy made me tolerate her a little. Now I'm just indifferent. I don't care enough to hate her. Although her actions, especially impersonating Sara, still make me furious at times.
I'm still angry about what they said about Oliver. That HAVE to stop dissing him everytime he crosses over to the Flash, to save their lives I might add.
Anyway, can I just say that even when Barry was faced with a moral crisis he handled it terribly and selfishly. What's more frustrating that Henry was the only one to talk some sense into Barry. No one tried to tell him that saving one person's life is not worth sacrificing the city and changing the world as we know it. It's cruel I know but it needed to be said. It's an awful situation but no one said that being a hero was easy.
The fact that the only good thing that came out of that relationship was an illegitimate child, whose father has no idea he even exists, speaks volumes lol
What happened to loyalty ? :-) The Flash and Daredevil just did not have time yet to screw it up... I liked Arrow season 3 way better than the Flash, but Daredevil was cool...
I have the same feeling about Arrow. This season was really, really bad. I will be watching season 4 only for Laurel. Right now Daredevil is my favourite.
My problem with Vanessa is that I don't get her. I mean she is smart enough to know who Fisk is early on. She even brings a gun to their date. But then she is suddenly totally okay with him setting the city on fire. It is not hard to understand why she would like a man which goes through so much length for her, but that she is so blissful calm about his darker deeds - it never really gets explained in the show (which is the only one of the Marvel shows which doesn't pass the test, btw).
I was never against a relationship between Oliver and Felicity, but from the get go I voiced worry that it would result in the writers putting Felicity firmly into the love interest category instead of a character with her own agenda. Sadly that was exactly what happened.
AoS got good at episode 16 or 17...the episode after "Yes Men" (which I consider the worst they did, so you have to survive this one first). Suddenly the show made a shift and went from a predictable case of the week structure to an utterly unpredictable and nevertheless logical arc. And once you have see season 2, it pays off to go back and watch those first episodes again. They become a totally different meaning.
Even better than Black Canary. He's trained by his master Jansen in Aikido and other various Japanese marital arts. But what really makes him good is the fact that he can mimic any fighting style he sees because of how he was trained.
Simmons character was less obvious, but she certainly changed. She is never the open young woman she used to be. She now lies like an expert, invents weapons to take out "dangerous subjects" and is ready to straight up murder someone. The Simmons of season one is sadly gone.
Should I Start watching iZombie? I have been hearing great things about it. Is there a lot of "comedy"? I heard it is a comedy - horror drama and usually i hate those Type of shows if there is not enough drama
Still by episode 13 when Jemma knows about Skye's powers that part of her character was established. After that not much movement was seen for her character. Also in the first half she was simply Fitz's hallucination and her undercover job in Hydra was not well explored. imo she got Diggle'd this season but better than Diggle. LOL. I still think Shield is a bit over crowded.
I am not saying she didn't change. Of course she did just like Fitz. But considering the storyline Bobbi got or Ward got Simmons arc was not prominent.
Yep. But the one character I really want to see who makes Oliver, Black Canary, Connor and even Batman look unskilled is Lady Shiva. That and a female antagonist would be cool. Like a major one.
But that is it all internal conflicts as well as external conflicts of Barry gets solved in the span of one episode except when in comes to his mother. Not that I am saying it should be a drawn out melodrama. I liked that Iris being angry was solved in one episode. But at the same time Barry struggling with being a hero for a span of few episodes would have done the character some good. His supporters for once never wavered in their commitment to him, One good conflict he had was Flash's falling out with Iris during the crossover episode where she said my dad and boyfriend were right when they said not to trust you. But they never addressed that again. Next meeting they have she is again flirting with him and she is taking a photo of him running which is stupid. They never talked about it. It bugged me a lot.
The Flash & Daredevil. Both shows manages to respect their source material while offering fresh takes where it is warranted (such as the awesome Barry/Joe bond or actually having a meanigful role for Karen Page beyond secretary/love interest)
Arrow dropped FAR too much in quality this season, but is not beyond salvaging.
I kind of liked that Barry was selfish in last episode. He did not reach that decision lightly. He consulted with everyone he loves and admires before he took that decision. I am not defending his decision at all. It was flawed and selfish. But it kind of goes with the character. He was obsessing about finding his mom's killer and getting his dad out before his introduction in Arrow. So when he learned he has a chance to go back and save his mom its natural he would obsess over that. Yes there was a chance of world being changed if he failed but I guess he had confidence in himself that he can save his mom and come back in time. In the end he lost his mom again, and came back in time only for the world to go in to dust because of Eddie's actions.
I think Barry will learn some valuable lessons from this incident however it will work out. I just wish there was a markable change in his hero persona all through the season.
I am not exactly sure why I'll be watching season 4, but I guess there are still things that keep me going. And I hope the show can manage to improve a lot next season.
She's more of a 'grey' character. She would be better suited as a temporary bad who switches alligence and helps Team Arrow against the real villain in the end.
She can start out bad but then something threatens both TA and her so she joins forces with the good guys. But I don't want her to completely change and become a hero in a few episodes. We need a good female villain. I thought China White was boring and overrated.
That is one of the thing that bugs me about this. Because after all this mess is cleared no one will be there to say I told you so. When Oliver makes even the best choices that he can someone will be there to criticize him.
I love Oliver dearly but teaming up with Malcolm was the stupidest thing he's ever done, and considering all the dump things he's done that is really saying something lol
Anyway after the finale I'm completely back on the "Oliver Queen defense squad" so let them come at me. *serious frowny face*
First of all, where in iZombie? I watch all of the shows on this list and voted for Agents of SHIELD and Arrow, because I am more invested in them than the other shows. That may change once the other series get into their second+ seasons. All of that said, as much as I like all of the comic books shows currently airing (other than Gotham, which I will not be continuing on with next season), I still feel that Constantine was a better than all of them. I'm sure there are a lot of Constantine haters, but I thought it was brilliant and am still bummed that it was cancelled.
On a completely different topic, I loved The Juror #6 Job. Parker was awesome in that episode and I said awww when she was so happy that she made a friend. However, Nathan is really getting on my nerves :/
I do not mind Oliver teaming up with Malcolm after Thea's death. It made sense considering how Ra's pushed Oliver into a corner by getting the whole city against him and killing Thea. By killing Thea Ra's proved that he is willing to hurt one by one everyone Oliver loves to get his way. Oliver was protecting those he loved and using Malcolm to do the dirty work so that if his cover gets blown Ra's will fixate on Malcolm.
What I had problem with was Oliver being ready to allign with Malcolm after returning from his fall and recovery. The fact that he considered no other options before doing that made me want to punch him. By the time Broken Arrow happened the whole scenario changed. He had fewer options.
Depends on if you are particular about the tone of a comic show. Arrow is darker, starts as a revenge theme, and has more of an antihero protagonist. Oh and don't judge the acting by the pilot. It gets much better. The Flash is lighter, more humorous, and has more camaraderie between its team right from the beginning. If you're checking out shows based on comic books, I'd suggest giving iZombie a try as well. I am not a fan of zombie movies or shows but this one is a good balance of humor and heart and keeps the main character from getting stale by changing it up every episode.
Very good point. Of all these relationships, Major actually brought something to the show via his relationship. Neither Laurel nor Iris did. Laurel brought somethings to the show despite that relationship but Iris is completely pointless at this point. Her only value lies in Barry instead of being a character on her own and as such, her scenes kill the momentum almost every episode. Major, especially now that they've given him his own storyline and tied him to the main story beyond just his relaitonship with Liv, enhances the episode. He's not just the ex-boyfriend. He also moves the plot forward.
In a weird way, I'd like it better if Vanessa was a villainess, or at least shown to be a pretty cold-hearted and ruthless before she met Fisk. Then, her being chill with Fisk's actions would gel with who she generally is. But the way it was written, she was a fairly normal woman who simply ended up not caring about a man doing awful things because of her feelings for him. I abhor that type of plot. Although, they could always reveal next season that she was never that innocent to begin with.
Instead of saying it's a comedy, it would say that it is witty with some good snark. The dialogue is very sharp. It does have good humorous moments, which I think is one of the better things about it because it takes more of a lighter The Flash tone. Usually the funny parts come when Liv is adjusting to a new brain and through the dialogue. I tend to dislike all things zombie, but iZombie is one of my favorite shows right now.
Whille I agree that the Arrow season 1 finale was one of the best episodes of TV I have ever seen, The Flash season finale was pretty decent too. I would go Arrow Season 1 finale >>>>>>>>>>>>any other great episode of a comic based show including The Flash season 1 finale. Arrow's Sacrifice was up there with Supernatural's WIaWSNB and Buffy's Becoming for me and that is high praise indeed.
The Flash season 1 finale was pretty great. But it lacked the thrill of Sacrifice. As much as I loved every interaction and emotional dialogues between the characters and also between Barry and Eobard I wish they had got into the action part a lot sooner. Also I got confused when Eobard died and the wormhole opened again. So I finished the show being confused and was frustrated with the cliffhanger ending. I am spoiled by Arrow's method of wrapping up story lines every season.
Parker is my favorite bad ass cupcake. I knew you would like it. You are already frustrated with Nate? LOL. Wait for season 2 and 3. You will be more annoyed. Be prepared. He has a superiority complex which takes some time to go away.
Same here. It's weird, he's supposed to be "the good guy" of the group and yet he's the most hypocritical and annoying member of the team! I really hope they stop these Nate/Sophie romantic moments soon because they make either roll my eyes or cringe.
Well that would have kind of ruined the surprise. But for once I would have liked some "tell". She could have simply explained to him why she isn't bothered.
Major is a really well written character. His and Liv's relationship is really a respectful one. No stalking, no over interfering in the other person's life which and no unnecessary pining are kind of the MO for CW heroes and love interests. I usually hate the pre established relationships. But Major/Liv is an exception.
LOL. For me Nate's ass hole behavior is a small problem on the show. It gives other characters opportunity to shine. His tragic back story and his alcohol problem are an ongoing issue through out the series.
I couldn't tell you about the one bad thing the show had can I. I needed to lure you into this. Its all an agenda. Can't you see?
I hate these kind of polls because of the hate over season 3 and same haters over and over again. Oh well i can watch a few times but i cant watch flash or dsredevil after once just cant connect. I can watch AOS twice too
I was talking about him working with Malcolm after he came back to Starling and giving Malcolm a chance to redeem himself because he "loves" Thea *shudders*. I understood why he had to work with Malcolm after he joined the league BUT I hated that he didn't tell Felicity and Dig.
I lost count of the times I wanted to smack Oliver over his head or yell at Felicity, Dig, Roy or Thea and shake them really hard this season lol Hopefully that won't happen again (am I making myself clear, Marc?)
We saw indications of how different she was even late in the season, though, like her constant getting away with lies and most of all, trying to kill Ward. I don't feel like she wasn't developed. And since you mentioned Ward as a character who had more of an arc - honestly, I much prefer Simmons', the writers seemed to have no clear direction with Ward this season and kept going back and forth.
Overall, I think AoS handles its large ensemble pretty well, but the problem is the major focus on Skye. It feels like she hogs half the screentime and the rest of the characters are fighting over the rest. I hope they dial that back in S3, now that we're done with her origin story.
And you know I agree with you about Simmons being undercover at Hydra, so I'll give you that. Too short, they could've done a lot more with it.
Daredevil > The Walking Dead >>>>> Flash >> iZombie >> Arrow >>>>> Gotham (Agent Carter & Agents of SHIELD are both nearly unwatchable to me so I didn't include them.)
Honestly I think they should write out Ward. As you said he even though had an arc was either annoying or out of place most of the time. His relationship with agent 33 was eye roll worthy. Yes focus on Skye is a bit of a problem but Skye was the link to all those inhumans it had to be done to establish them. I will take Skye of this season over Skye of season 1 any day. I do think it was a mistake to introduce 3 new characters this season. Bobbi even though recurring got more screen time since she was an active agent.
I just read that KL thought she was auditioning to be Lady Shiva. Still I want a female villain. Nyssa is more of an anti-hero who is leaning more towards being a hero.
Oh that I completely agree. Its not like that action did him any good in the hind sight. Also going to Nanda Parbat to save him annoyed me even though I got the Thea's soul thing. I truly was frustrated from ep. 11 to ep. 15.
Flash i could watch once more. But Daredevil no way. AoS this season I think I can re watch. Coulson still annoys me. That is my issue with the show. Its personal.
Even though Arrow was frustrating and an angst fest I can rewatch Arrow. Some episodes several times. Honestly I like all these shows. Its really great time to be super hero fans.
I was misrable during those episodes, except for episode 14. And the ONLY thing I liked in 13 was Thea's reaction when she found out about Oliver. Also add 21 to the mix.
I agree Daredevil was really cool, but I think is not comparable to Arrow, because the season 1 of Daredevil is a lot shorter and was released all at once. To me that changes a lot, so I wouldn't say Daredevil is a class above because it still has to prove itself for more than 13 episodes.
Yeah it is amazing how much hate Arrow season 3 is getting... I don't understand it. Daredevil was cool, but in comparison to Arrow still has to prove itself to be worthy watching after Season 1. The 13 episodes were released all at once, so it had more the character of a long movie, at least I watched it in 3 days. The Flash was boring, I never got connected to any of the characters maybe because I am not a comic freak.
Its not like I completely disliked all of those episodes. There were clearly some good things in each of those. But apart from Oliver Thea interactions when ever Oliver was on screen I was frustrated by his choices and lack of communication or should I say his method of communication?
The hate is completely justified. I mean come on?! It was so anticlimatic and stupid. The whole storyline made no sense and it Has turned into a soap opera. I mean resurrecting someone with some Kind of water and the way thea jumped out of there... i can't even. The writing for Almost every character was terrible and there is not a Single character i even like. Of course everything is IMO
Agent Carter and the Flash, in that order. Daredevil is a close third, with Arrow trailing in at the end, thanks to this season's abysmal showing. Don't watch Gotham or AoS.
I actually watched the whole thing. I enjoyed the pilot, i thought it was good. After that, just nope, but i was hoping it'd get better, and i remember watching the last episode (cuz it was going to be cancelled and this was it's last hope) and my friends were talking to me and i completely ignored them i just wasn't listening, and they started laughing at me, like really?? Lmaoooo i remember that. I actually thought the finale was good. They really tried to fix it at that point, but obviously it was too late. I don't remember ANY details on any of it, i just remember that. The only thing i remember towards the end, Glau's character was kidnapped and Lyon's character had to go rescue her, and she was drugged up by the villain. During her drug induced state she had all these dreams and one of them was that Lyon's character was in there, and it showed...well to spare the details, basically it showed she subconsciously developed feelings for him. I remembered i hated that sooooo much.
I voted for Shield and Flash. They are both great shows and I love both shows for different reason. Shield really picked up the pace and upped the ante in terms of storytelling and making their large cast matter. For a while in season one while I liked most of the characters some of them were just superfluous and just had nothing to do besides explain the plot of the episodes to the audience, but after the Hydra reveal happened the storytelling has been great and the characters all pretty much have purpose now. Clark Gregg is still such a great force as he was when he was in the movies as Coulson when they let him be have his little quips and throwaway lines and let him be the man with a plan who knows more than everybody in the room.
The Flash is just pure unadulterated comic book fun and I love that. You can tell they don't take themselves too seriously but they know how to tell stories with real stakes and emotional pull that make you care about those characters. Also the actors really sell their characters Tom Cavanagh, Jesse Martin, and Grant Gustin deserve special shout-outs for really embodying everything that's great about their characters.
Agent Carter is personally my favourite out of all that are listed. But I actually like all the shows! I'm starting to think I might drop Arrow and Gotham however, bc I'm finding them to get a littttllle but boring but each to there own. ALSO, to add to the list, The Walking Dead haha. I think twd has gotten more boring over the last two seasons, but it's still easily one of my favourite shows! :)
I'm still hoping it gets picked up somewhere else. The creator is certainly shopping it around. I need more Constantine in my life. It can't just end like that.
Ok thanks! I'll probably see how I like the first couple episodes of arrow! Seems like a good show. And then I'll watch the flash and izombie! Thanks again for the help!
That whole heist of that statue she did on the fly was so sexy. Ice cubes, aluminium foil, eye shadow, a hot kiss and car alarms. In and out. So cool isn't it?
AoS and Agent Carter, with Daredevil getting the 3rd spot despite it being way too dark and gritty and serious for me. The Flash also gets a notable mention. I don't know, Arrow has always sort of bored me, and Gotham was a disaster.
Regarding Arrow one advise. Please don't read online comments about any episodes until you watch the whole thing or as long as you decide to watch. We Arrow fandom are a bunch of strong opinionated and dedicated people and there are regular conflicts and different interpretations about one character or the other, every decision made by lead character and don't even talk about romantic pairings. So don't venture into online fandom until you finish it and make up your own mind.
You dropped it after episode 9? After the introduction of the Reverse- Flash aka Professor Zoom Barry Allen's greatest nemesis and the man who killed his mom. I'm tempted to say you're crazy, but I feel that wouldn't convey how utterly baffling that is.
I'm sorry but dude you dropped it just as the main plot actually started gearing up and everything started exploding. I can't even properly describe how perturbed I am. Not as bad as dropping after say episode 15 or 17 mind you but still. Really missed out on crazy shit. Everything about the twist at the end of episode.
Yup. I also love "The Tap out Job". I had to rewind the scene when Parker was choking Hardison a few times because I was laughing so much I had no idea what Sophie and Nate were saying and finally I gave because I couldn't get through it without laughing lol My Parker/Hardison feels are getting stronger by the minute.
iZombie is barely based on the comic, it's mostly the name, the barin-eating concept and the main-character's hair...Though I don't think that's why it's not on the list..
Aren't they adorable? What did you think of Maggie? I like her more than Nate. Her and Sophie's interactions and Nate's reactions to it are really funny.
So adorable. I didn't care for Maggie at first but then I liked her dynamic with the team a lot. She also made Nate more tolerable. I love Sterling btw lol
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Anyone care to guess? lol
ReplyDeleteFor me, it'll either be Gotham or The Flash, but I can't choose just one.
ReplyDeleteI’ll say it again, Daredevil :) I just love it. The writing, performances, atmosphere and action are just incredible. But I also absolutely love The Flash, it’s had an incredibly good first season with amazingly heartfelt performances and amazing CGI scenes. So Flash and Daredevil for me :)
ReplyDeleteHonorabale Mention: Agent Carter, Peggy is the most inspiring character, “I know my value.” I love her interactions with Jarvis and Angie. So excited for Season 2 :D
I do enjoy Agents of SHIELD and Arrow too :)
Gotham…. Needs more direction, maybe if they dug more into the comic mythology more like the other comic book shows it would be better. However aesthetically the show is beautiful.
Daredevil & The Flash-So amazing!
ReplyDeleteI like all of them :)
ReplyDeleteFavorite Arrow! They had some issues this season but hoping they will get back on track.
ReplyDeleteAnd than a huge tie between Carter, DD and Flash.
And than Shield and Gotham on last place, me with not even watching Shield. That disappointing is Gotham
Have u finished watching DD?
ReplyDelete3 eps left, will do it today tomorrow. But I really like it. ^^
ReplyDeleteiZombie is missing from the option. Not that it's my favorite, just pointing it out.
ReplyDeleteI knew you would like it,it's so good!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the poll was submitted before iZombie aired. ^^
ReplyDeleteYes it is, the intensity, the characters, the story telling. I really dig it.
ReplyDeleteiZombie !!
ReplyDeleteBut i watch all of these
Arrow - 2 seasons were amazing, 3rd was huge decrease in quality, i hope it can bounce back
Flash - it is amazing, my only issue is that main hero has to be in love with his best friend
Shield - RN it is amazing, after boring 1,5 seasons, Season 2B was AWESOME
Carter - One of the biggest surprises of the season, just amazing
Gotham - Slow at first, but i really loved 2nd half
Daredevil - I am only 5 episodes in, Episodes 1,2,5 were amazing but episodes 3 and 4 were boring
Arrow & The Flash are my votes
ReplyDeleteGotham is third.
I agree on you with Gotham. I loved the 2nd half much more than the 1st half. I gave up with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. halfway through season 1 because it was boring but I've been told that season 2 is a huge improvement on the first season.
ReplyDeleteIt's tie between Arrow and Daredevil.
ReplyDeleteUnlikely, iZombie premiered before Daredevil.
ReplyDeleteFlarrow ftw!
ReplyDeleteI watch almost the shows listed (and iZombie which is noticeably missing) with the exception of Agent Carter. My order would go like this
ReplyDeleteDaredevil, The Flash, iZombie, Gotham, Agents Of SHIELD, Arrow.
Just last season, Arrow was far & away 1st.
The person who made the poll either just forgot to add it or has a disliking towards iZombie.
ReplyDeleteMaybe because it's DC's Vertigo print?
ReplyDeleteThat is true. Good catch.
ReplyDeleteYou jaw constantly on the floor with AoS season 2
ReplyDeleteas a fun comic book show : The Flash
ReplyDeleteas a serious comic book show : Daredevil
The Walking Dead
ReplyDeleteAgent Carter
Daredevil
The Flash and as of the past two days daredevil.
ReplyDeleteDaredevil followed closey by AOS and Agent Carter.
ReplyDeleteWould add iZombie as well.
Of those I watch all oft them.
ReplyDeleteI am most passionate for Arrowhead AoS.
ReplyDeleteI don't see what the big deal is with Daredevil. I found it boring as well.
ReplyDeleteWould you recommend that I go back to watching the show?
ReplyDeleteIf you have free time in summer, yes
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd half of S2 is really worth it. I just hope that it will continue like this in Season 3
People often forget that iZombie is based on a comic book.
ReplyDeleteQuality wise Arrow dropped hard but still it is my favorite baby out of the bunch.
My rankings:
ReplyDelete1. The Flash
2. Gotham
3. Arrow
4. Agent Carter
I agree with you 100%.
ReplyDeleteAs a die hard fan of Agents of SHIELD, I'll go with it followed by Daredevil (and Arrow maybe)
ReplyDeleteIt actually starts to improve a lot right at the point when you quit, halfway through Season 1.
ReplyDeleteRe Gotham I completely agree, it is boring more than it is exciting and whilst it has done a lot to improve on the weird tonal shifts of the earlier episodes sometimes it is still a weird mix of silly and then horrifically violent (like the serial killer arc). It doesn't really know what it wants to be and keeps adding in all the Batman villains, instead it should focus on one or two.
ReplyDeleteAoS & AC.
ReplyDeleteFollowed by the Flash and then Arrow.
I haven't watched Daredevil yet so that could change and I stopped watching Gotham halfway through. I may go back and catch up over the summer.
I'm also really enjoying iZombie.
What do people not like about Gotham? I personally think the show's great but it seems like so many people dislike it.
ReplyDeleteI would have to go with Agents of Shield. Despite the boring and horrible season yesterday I went back and watched the season finale and was pleasantly surprised. I'm really happy with where they went with the show and will start watching again. I don't watch any of the other shows. Should I give the flash or arrow a try?
ReplyDeleteMy ranking
ReplyDelete1. Arrow
2. Flash
3. Agent Carter
4. iZombie
5. Agents of Shield
ReplyDeleteIt has way too many characters and keeps adding in Batman villains but no real reason - Ivy is a good example.
1. Agents of SHIELD (my favorite)
ReplyDelete2. The Flash
3. Arrow
There is a really long review in the comment section. if you ask me, watch Agent Carter and Daredevil, but I am ready to bet that others would vote for Arrow and Flash. It's actually a matter of taste. If you are really, really into melodrama, Arrow and Flash are the shows for you.
ReplyDeleteAoS, Agent Carter, and Gotham
ReplyDeleteOk great thanks! I'm thinking about watching the premieres of them and seeing which I like best!
ReplyDeleteI meant Major who already had a relationship with Liv. We never saw them falling in love. But they are treating him right. Neither Liv nor Major are hung up on each other yet they are in each others lives and support each other. Also they have really worked with Major and he is now an integral part in the shows main story line.
ReplyDeleteThat is where other DC shows failed in Laurel and Iris.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the show is all over the place.
1. AoS
ReplyDelete2. AC
3. The Flash
I don't watch Arrow or Gotham and I still need to see Daredevil.
Flash and Arrow.
ReplyDeleteThis is so hard... but I think I'll go Daredevil; it just feels so awesome, even though I love both The Flash and Agent Carter so much.
ReplyDeleteI also like Agents of Shield, but not to the same degree as the others.
ReplyDeleteSurprising. Given how often people say Arrow Oliver is Bruce Wayne (which I disagree immensely with).
ReplyDeleteI agree about Laurel, but Iris I get that. She's caring, sweet, fun, attractive, intelligent, diligent and honestly surprisingly badass. No question why he's into her personally.
ReplyDeleteYeah, female characters in both quality and quantity is another reason why I think the Marvel shows have the edge for me (well, Daredevil less so than AoS and AC, although it isn't doing that badly).
ReplyDeleteThen you have the DC shows.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with that comparison too. The stories were influenced by Batman's mythology but Oliver Queen is not Bruce Wayne. And as dark as Arrow has gotten Batman's world is still way darker.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to disagree about the lack of development of Simmons.
ReplyDeleteI get that Iris is a great person.
ReplyDeleteIn comparison Major and Liv in iZombie clearly still have feelings for each other yet they give each other space and be in each other's life too. It is one of the most healthy pre established but not happening now relationship I have seen. Also Major way cooler than Iris and Laurel in season 1 with his story arc and development and is in no way defined by his relationship with Liv.
Episode 6-10 are amazing IMO.
ReplyDeleteOr are completely unaware that it is actually based on a comic book.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. And then he starts fawning over Laurel (I get wanting to make amends but he was basically a stalker for a while) and again acting like a dbag by having sex with her after telling Tommy to fight for her. I like Laurel (didn't before three) and love Oliver but I'm glad it ended. It was toxic.
ReplyDeleteIts not just about mental trauma. Its about moral dilemma too. Barry never had any serious moral crisis except for the finale. I don't consider using Captain Cold for help to transfer the prisoners too much of a moral crisis even though the show tried to paint it that way and crap on Oliver while they are at it.
ReplyDeleteEven if we take out the whole killing thing and him growing from that to a hero from season 1 of Arrow Oliver had to face the fact that his mother was a killer, he had to face a huge fight with Diggle with that Deadshot episode, his failing his first fight with Dark Archer was such a turning point for him and it resonated the whole season.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, while I'm not an Olicity shipper I never full-on objected to the relationship.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't earlier in the season, though.
ReplyDeleteWell moral threads like that are less common and will be (and should be) the Flash is lighter, of a more silver age. More internal conflict would be nice, but I don't think it's fair
ReplyDeleteJust The Flash for me. I want to vote for Arrow, but after the mess that was season 3, I really can't. If it were up to seasons 1 and 2, it would be my favourite.
ReplyDeleteExactly, Graydon, exactly.
ReplyDeleteI used to hate Laurel in seasons 1 and 2, more in 2 than 1 because in season 1 Tommy made me tolerate her a little. Now I'm just indifferent. I don't care enough to hate her. Although her actions, especially impersonating Sara, still make me furious at times.
At least one good thing came from that toxic mess. Connor Hawke, the future Green Arrow.
ReplyDeleteI'm still angry about what they said about Oliver. That HAVE to stop dissing him everytime he crosses over to the Flash, to save their lives I might add.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, can I just say that even when Barry was faced with a moral crisis he handled it terribly and selfishly.
ReplyDeleteLol it really does. But hey that kid will go up to be a damn good crimefighter and a better fighter than Oliver, so not a total loss.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to loyalty ? :-) The Flash and Daredevil just did not have time yet to screw it up... I liked Arrow season 3 way better than the Flash, but Daredevil was cool...
ReplyDeleteReally? He's better than Oliver? Who trained him?
ReplyDeleteI have the same feeling about Arrow. This season was really, really bad. I will be watching season 4 only for Laurel.
ReplyDeleteRight now Daredevil is my favourite.
The flash!!! Arrowwas terrible this season
ReplyDeleteMy problem with Vanessa is that I don't get her.
ReplyDeleteI was never against a relationship between Oliver and Felicity, but from the get go I voiced worry that it would result in the writers putting Felicity firmly into the love interest category instead of a character with her own agenda. Sadly that was exactly what happened.
ReplyDeleteThe episode in which Sara turned up is still my favourite of the show. It was also melodramatic, but it didn't feel contrived.
ReplyDeleteAoS got good at episode 16 or 17...the episode after "Yes Men" (which I consider the worst they did, so you have to survive this one first). Suddenly the show made a shift and went from a predictable case of the week structure to an utterly unpredictable and nevertheless logical arc. And once you have see season 2, it pays off to go back and watch those first episodes again. They become a totally different meaning.
ReplyDeleteEven better than Black Canary. He's trained by his master Jansen in Aikido and other various Japanese marital arts. But what really makes him good is the fact that he can mimic any fighting style he sees because of how he was trained.
ReplyDeleteSimmons character was less obvious, but she certainly changed. She is never the open young woman she used to be. She now lies like an expert, invents weapons to take out "dangerous subjects" and is ready to straight up murder someone. The Simmons of season one is sadly gone.
ReplyDeleteShould I Start watching iZombie? I have been hearing great things about it. Is there a lot of "comedy"? I heard it is a comedy - horror drama and usually i hate those Type of shows if there is not enough drama
ReplyDeleteStill by episode 13 when Jemma knows about Skye's powers that part of her character was established. After that not much movement was seen for her character. Also in the first half she was simply Fitz's hallucination and her undercover job in Hydra was not well explored. imo she got Diggle'd this season but better than Diggle. LOL. I still think Shield is a bit over crowded.
ReplyDelete100% agree with this rant! I had completely forgotten Montoya and Allen even existed!
ReplyDeleteWe can agree that it was just fan service but don't get me wrong, I'm not against a happy ending but when it interferes with the quality-uh oh.
ReplyDeleteI am not saying she didn't change. Of course she did just like Fitz. But considering the storyline Bobbi got or Ward got Simmons arc was not prominent.
ReplyDeleteThere is enough drama and every character is really likable. You should try it out.
ReplyDeleteDaredevil and Agent Carter by far. If i were to put them in order it would be like this:
ReplyDeleteDaredevil>Agent Carter>>>>>>>>AOS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Everything else except The Flash and Arrow>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>The Flash and Arrow
Yep. But the one character I really want to see who makes Oliver, Black Canary, Connor and even Batman look unskilled is Lady Shiva. That and a female antagonist would be cool. Like a major one.
ReplyDeleteBut that is it all internal conflicts as well as external conflicts of Barry gets solved in the span of one episode except when in comes to his mother. Not that I am saying it should be a drawn out melodrama. I liked that Iris being angry was solved in one episode. But at the same time Barry struggling with being a hero for a span of few episodes would have done the character some good.
ReplyDeleteHis supporters for once never wavered in their commitment to him, One good conflict he had was Flash's falling out with Iris during the crossover episode where she said my dad and boyfriend were right when they said not to trust you.
ReplyDeleteArrow dropped FAR too much in quality this season, but is not beyond salvaging.
*runs off to Google*
ReplyDeleteWhoa! She's an assassin for hire? I thought she was a hero. She would make an amazing big bad.
ReplyDeleteI kind of liked that Barry was selfish in last episode.
ReplyDeleteI think Barry will learn some valuable lessons from this incident however it will work out. I just wish there was a markable change in his hero persona all through the season.
It's weird as she's been both good and bad. She just loves to fight.
ReplyDeleteI am not exactly sure why I'll be watching season 4, but I guess there are still things that keep me going. And I hope the show can manage to improve a lot next season.
ReplyDeleteShe's more of a 'grey' character. She would be better suited as a temporary bad who switches alligence and helps Team Arrow against the real villain in the end.
ReplyDeleteLol. Well, Arrow has just decreased an awful lot in quality in season 3, it's not the show it used to be. I liked The Flash better than Arrow S3.
ReplyDeleteDaredevil. I dropped The Flash and Arrow around Christmas time and haven´t missed them at all.
ReplyDeleteAgents of SHIELD.
ReplyDeleteShe can start out bad but then something threatens both TA and her so she joins forces with the good guys. But I don't want her to completely change and become a hero in a few episodes. We need a good female villain. I thought China White was boring and overrated.
ReplyDeleteShe can be placement for the SS.
ReplyDeleteCould be an intersting replacement for Deadshot in the HIVE storyline.
ReplyDeleteWhere's iZombie?
ReplyDeleteIt's very cool, my favorite show of 2015! Give it a chance for the first 3 episodes! (PS¹: The show stays more amazing from episode 5)
ReplyDeleteNo "The Walking Dead"?!?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteWhere is iZombie? iZombie and The Flash for me
ReplyDeleteI will give it a try when i have time :)
ReplyDeleteThe flash season 1= arrow season 1
ReplyDeletearrow season 2> flash season 1
The flash season 1>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> arrow season 3
Arrow season 3 finale >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The flash season 1 finale
ReplyDeleteI'm still angry they killed Deadshot. I was looking forward to more Diggle/Deadshot interactions in season 4.
ReplyDeleteI understand that they wanted Barry to be happy but not a single one of them was strongly opposed to that whole mess. Not even Stein.
ReplyDeleteFlash arrow Shield Carter
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the thing that bugs me about this. Because after all this mess is cleared no one will be there to say I told you so. When Oliver makes even the best choices that he can someone will be there to criticize him.
ReplyDeleteArrow Season 1 finale >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The Flash Season 1
ReplyDeleteBut I do agree with you :)
The world (and the writers) is so cruel to poor Oliver :(
ReplyDeleteI hope this changes next season. But with Malcolm being Ra's I can see another round of blame Oliver coming up.
ReplyDeleteOh god no. The season 3 finale was one of the worst hours of television i have ever watched. However, everyone thinks differently ;)
ReplyDeleteI love Oliver dearly but teaming up with Malcolm was the stupidest thing he's ever done, and considering all the dump things he's done that is really saying something lol
ReplyDeleteAnyway after the finale I'm completely back on the "Oliver Queen defense squad" so let them come at me. *serious frowny face*
Well I hated about 75% of the Flash finale and loved the Arrow finale. Agreed :)
ReplyDeleteThe poll could be old. I submitted one just like this before the show started (but still included it) that never made the USD poll list
ReplyDeleteArrow And Flash
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, where in iZombie? I watch all of the shows on this list and voted for Agents of SHIELD and Arrow, because I am more invested in them than the other shows. That may change once the other series get into their second+ seasons. All of that said, as much as I like all of the comic books shows currently airing (other than Gotham, which I will not be continuing on with next season), I still feel that Constantine was a better than all of them. I'm sure there are a lot of Constantine haters, but I thought it was brilliant and am still bummed that it was cancelled.
ReplyDeleteOn a completely different topic, I loved The Juror #6 Job. Parker was awesome in that episode and I said awww when she was so happy that she made a friend. However, Nathan is really getting on my nerves :/
ReplyDeleteDespite a disappointing season for me Arrow is still at that top of the list for me.
ReplyDeleteDaredevil > AOS > Flash > AC > Arrow > Gotham
ReplyDeleteOther: iZombie. I also like The Flash and Agent Carter. Still need to watch Daredevil but I doubt I like it better than these 3.
ReplyDeleteI do not mind Oliver teaming up with Malcolm after Thea's death.
ReplyDeleteWhat I had problem with was Oliver being ready to allign with Malcolm after returning from his fall and recovery.
ReplyDeleteLast season was Arrow, but it got worse and Agents of Shield better, so SHIELD!
ReplyDeleteThe Flash > Daredevil > AoS > Carter
ReplyDeleteoverall (including past seasons)
The Flash > Daredevil > Arrow > AoS > Carter
Gotham sucks.
ReplyDeleteI still wish Constantine would come back.
ReplyDeleteI would order them like this:
The Flash
Daredevil
Agent Carter
Agents of Shield
Arrow
Gotham
In a weird way, I'd like it better if Vanessa was a villainess, or at least shown to be a pretty cold-hearted and ruthless before she met Fisk. Then, her being chill with Fisk's actions would gel with who she generally is. But the way it was written, she was a fairly normal woman who simply ended up not caring about a man doing awful things because of her feelings for him. I abhor that type of plot. Although, they could always reveal next season that she was never that innocent to begin with.
ReplyDeleteNate is my least favorite character by far. In fact, he's the only one I actively disliked. However, The Juror made me love Parker even more.
ReplyDeleteInstead of saying it's a comedy, it would say that it is witty with some good snark.
ReplyDeleteWhille I agree that the Arrow season 1 finale was one of the best episodes of TV I have ever seen, The Flash season finale was pretty decent too. I would go Arrow Season 1 finale >>>>>>>>>>>>any other great episode of a comic based show including The Flash season 1 finale. Arrow's Sacrifice was up there with Supernatural's WIaWSNB and Buffy's Becoming for me and that is high praise indeed.
ReplyDeleteDaredevil> Agent Carter> Flash= Agents of SHIELD> izombie> Gotham>>>>>>>>>>Arrow
ReplyDeleteArrow season 3 was brilliant hatew are not reap fan
ReplyDeleteThe Flash season 1 finale was pretty great.
ReplyDeleteParker is my favorite bad ass cupcake. I knew you would like it. You are already frustrated with Nate? LOL. Wait for season 2 and 3. You will be more annoyed. Be prepared. He has a superiority complex which takes some time to go away.
ReplyDeleteSame here.
ReplyDeleteIt's weird, he's supposed to be "the good guy" of the group and yet he's the most hypocritical and annoying member of the team! I really hope they stop these Nate/Sophie romantic moments soon because they make either roll my eyes or cringe.
Well that would have kind of ruined the surprise. But for once I would have liked some "tell". She could have simply explained to him why she isn't bothered.
ReplyDeleteThe Walking dead...can't believe it's not on the list..
ReplyDeleteUgh you mean I'm watching the happy fun times Nate now?? *sobs*
ReplyDeleteWhy did you wait this long to tell me about it??!! What's your excuse?
Major is a really well written character. His and Liv's relationship is really a respectful one. No stalking, no over interfering in the other person's life which and no unnecessary pining are kind of the MO for CW heroes and love interests. I usually hate the pre established relationships. But Major/Liv is an exception.
ReplyDeleteNate/Sophie relationship come to a head in season 3 finale. Until then hold on. After that it does become smooth some what.
ReplyDeleteLOL. For me Nate's ass hole behavior is a small problem on the show. It gives other characters opportunity to shine. His tragic back story and his alcohol problem are an ongoing issue through out the series.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't tell you about the one bad thing the show had can I. I needed to lure you into this. Its all an agenda. Can't you see?
I hate these kind of polls because of the hate over season 3 and same haters over and over again. Oh well i can watch a few times but i cant watch flash or dsredevil after once just cant connect. I can watch AOS twice too
ReplyDeleteI was talking about him working with Malcolm after he came back to Starling and giving Malcolm a chance to redeem himself because he "loves" Thea *shudders*. I understood why he had to work with Malcolm after he joined the league BUT I hated that he didn't tell Felicity and Dig.
ReplyDeleteI lost count of the times I wanted to smack Oliver over his head or yell at Felicity, Dig, Roy or Thea and shake them really hard this season lol
Hopefully that won't happen again (am I making myself clear, Marc?)
I loved Constantine, it's a shame the NBC kill it
ReplyDeleteSeason 3 sounds really delightful :/
ReplyDeleteSneaky. I respect that lol
ReplyDeleteWe saw indications of how different she was even late in the season, though, like her constant getting away with lies and most of all, trying to kill Ward. I don't feel like she wasn't developed. And since you mentioned Ward as a character who had more of an arc - honestly, I much prefer Simmons', the writers seemed to have no clear direction with Ward this season and kept going back and forth.
ReplyDeleteOverall, I think AoS handles its large ensemble pretty well, but the problem is the major focus on Skye.
Daredevil > The Walking Dead >>>>> Flash >> iZombie >> Arrow >>>>> Gotham
ReplyDelete(Agent Carter & Agents of SHIELD are both nearly unwatchable to me so I didn't include them.)
I guess the great fight sequencepays a role.
ReplyDeleteHonestly I think they should write out Ward.
ReplyDeleteI just read that KL thought she was auditioning to be Lady Shiva.
ReplyDeleteStill I want a female villain.
11 to ep. 15.
ReplyDeleteWe can hope.
1. Arrow by a long shot
ReplyDelete2. Daredevil was really good
3. AoS
4. Agent Carter
The other shows I dropped .-)
Finally a light in the end of the tunnel lol
ReplyDeleteFlash i could watch once more. But Daredevil no way. AoS this season I think I can re watch. Coulson still annoys me. That is my issue with the show. Its personal.
ReplyDeleteEven though Arrow was frustrating and an angst fest I can rewatch Arrow. Some episodes several times. Honestly I like all these shows. Its really great time to be super hero fans.
I was misrable during those episodes, except for episode 14. And the ONLY thing I liked in 13 was Thea's reaction when she found out about Oliver. Also add 21 to the mix.
ReplyDeleteI agree Daredevil was really cool, but I think is not comparable to Arrow, because the season 1 of Daredevil is a lot shorter and was released all at once. To me that changes a lot, so I wouldn't say Daredevil is a class above because it still has to prove itself for more than 13 episodes.
ReplyDeleteSo dropped The Flash even with the hater over season 3!
ReplyDeleteYeah it is amazing how much hate Arrow season 3 is getting...
ReplyDeleteIts not like I completely disliked all of those episodes. There were clearly some good things in each of those. But apart from Oliver Thea interactions when ever Oliver was on screen I was frustrated by his choices and lack of communication or should I say his method of communication?
ReplyDeleteI understand completely.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Parker reflecting the laser beams with foil paper might be the most amazing thing I've seen in a while.
Arrow and Flash. Not even a question. I really have to start Daredevil, but all my shows aren't over yet, so i can still wait before i start it.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha The Cape!!! oh wow!!! I forgot about that one. LOL omggg, i can't believe you remember that one.
ReplyDeleteThe hate is completely justified.
ReplyDeleteYeah five episodes of that crap. Thank God it died. Only thing I enjoyed was Keith David's smooth voice.
ReplyDeleteAgent Carter and the Flash, in that order. Daredevil is a close third, with Arrow trailing in at the end, thanks to this season's abysmal showing. Don't watch Gotham or AoS.
ReplyDeleteDaredevil and The Flash. I haven't watched Agent Carter yet. I like AoS and Gotham, too. I used to love Arrow.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch The Flash; I dropped it after ep 9.
ReplyDeleteI actually watched the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Shield and Flash.
ReplyDeleteThe Flash is just pure unadulterated comic book fun and I love that.
ReplyDeleteI'm still hoping it gets picked up somewhere else. The creator is certainly shopping it around. I need more Constantine in my life. It can't just end like that.
ReplyDeleteOk thanks! I'll probably see how I like the first couple episodes of arrow! Seems like a good show. And then I'll watch the flash and izombie! Thanks again for the help!
ReplyDeleteArrow <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteThe Flash is runner up for me.
That whole heist of that statue she did on the fly was so sexy. Ice cubes, aluminium foil, eye shadow, a hot kiss and car alarms. In and out. So cool isn't it?
ReplyDeleteAoS and Agent Carter, with Daredevil getting the 3rd spot despite it being way too dark and gritty and serious for me. The Flash also gets a notable mention. I don't know, Arrow has always sort of bored me, and Gotham was a disaster.
ReplyDeleteRegarding Arrow one advise.
ReplyDeleteYou dropped it after episode 9? After the introduction of the Reverse- Flash aka Professor Zoom Barry Allen's greatest nemesis and the man who killed his mom. I'm tempted to say you're crazy, but I feel that wouldn't convey how utterly baffling that is.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but dude you dropped it just as the main plot actually started gearing up and everything started exploding. I can't even properly describe how perturbed I am. Not as bad as dropping after say episode 15 or 17 mind you but still. Really missed out on crazy shit. Everything about the twist at the end of episode.
ReplyDeleteConsidering I only watch Gotham from this list, I'd probably have to say Gotham ;)
ReplyDeleteJust Daredevil and Agent Carter. iZombie should also be on this list.
ReplyDeleteAGENT CARTER FTW!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://blogs-images.forbes.com/merrillbarr/files/2014/04/Agent_Carter.jpg
200th Comment!!!
ReplyDeleteYup. I also love "The Tap out Job". I had to rewind the scene when Parker was choking Hardison a few times because I was laughing so much I had no idea what Sophie and Nate were saying and finally I gave because I couldn't get through it without laughing lol
ReplyDeleteMy Parker/Hardison feels are getting stronger by the minute.
Shouldn't it say "Superhero comic based show"? Imean..it doesn't have iZombie or Walking dead..
ReplyDeleteiZombie is barely based on the comic, it's mostly the name, the barin-eating concept and the main-character's hair...Though I don't think that's why it's not on the list..
ReplyDeleteAren't they adorable? What did you think of Maggie? I like her more than Nate. Her and Sophie's interactions and Nate's reactions to it are really funny.
ReplyDeleteSo adorable.
ReplyDeleteI didn't care for Maggie at first but then I liked her dynamic with the team a lot. She also made Nate more tolerable.
I love Sterling btw lol
Oh huh that's interesting, even if i don't want Liv with Major.
ReplyDeleteNice very nice LOL, yeah it's pretty hard to pay attention to Sophie and Nate
ReplyDelete
