Thanks to Mr Edmodo for the heads up.
The network on Friday handed out a series order to its African-American-led remake of Uncle Buck, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Based on John Hughes' 1989 movie, the comedy centers on Uncle Buck (Mike Epps) a fun-loving but irresponsible guy who needs a job and place to stay. By happy coincidence, his nieces and nephew’s nanny has just quit and his brother and sister-in-law need his help. His unconventional personality just may make him the right fit for the family and they may be the answer to his problems, too.
Nia Long, James Lesure, Iman Benson, Sayeed Shahidi and Aalyrah Caldwell round out the cast.

Deadline reports it will be for midseason. If true, Lms is probably getting renewed
ReplyDeleteCome on LMS please be renewed just one more season!
ReplyDeleteand it looks like ABC is done
ReplyDeleteThey need to decide on LMS
ReplyDeleteReplacement for whatever tanks first.
ReplyDeleteCome on CBS! It's Ur turn! Bring Code Black to my small screen.
ReplyDeleteABC has so much... there schedule will be the most interesting
ReplyDeletei guess now we have a clear picture of abc 2015-2016 season (lms is a sure thing, every year negociations take a long time). now the question is what will land in the fall schedule. please don't make me wait till mid-season to watch boom, of kings & prophets and the real o'neals.
ReplyDeletei can wait for the family and the catch
I was thinking that would be The Muppets would do that. I think Real O'Neals will tank first.
ReplyDeleteBad move abc... john candy is the only uncle buck.
ReplyDeleteDeadline | Upfronts 2015: CBS Narrows Pilot Field
ReplyDeleteThe Muppets may pair with Galavant?
ReplyDeletePost MF spot?
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea to hold this to mid season. If something fails or doesn't get a back order, they need to have a replacement.
ReplyDeleteFirst, Uncle Buck is John Candy. Noone else will ever replace him.
ReplyDeleteSecond, why turn the entire family into African-Americans? The originals were White. Not a race issue, I'm just curious.
Being that CBS didn't pick much up this might be good news for Stalker.
ReplyDeletePass for me.
ReplyDeleteDeadline reports it is midseason and it also has it listed as multi-cam (though THR has it as single cam so there are conflicting reports there). My guess is it gets FOTB midseason treatment, which means depends on the performance of fall comedies.
ReplyDeleteWhich ABC comedies will you be watching, Bill?
ReplyDeleteI think inevitably a lot of stuff will be sent to summer. Last year they sent The Whispers and Astronaut Wives Club to summer, while Members only was pre cancelled. I would expect something of the sort to happen again. There is just too much stuff.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to see after viewing the trailers. After all I only tried Cristela for the heck of it and ended up loving it, dropping Modern Family in the process.
ReplyDeleteAs of now I will be watching Dr, Ken and at least trying The Muppets. This on top of The Middle, The Goldbergs (maybe in batches though instead of every week) and Fresh Off The Boat.
Not sure if I will drop Empire or not so that may free up some time too.
No Uncle Buck or Real O'Neals then?
ReplyDeleteI'll probably try them out but I don't foresee myself watching the series. Hard to tell though.
ReplyDeleteBy the way you are probably over the moon with Super Clyde dead, no?
ReplyDeleteIt is? Yes!
ReplyDeleteI think this could be fun, but I highly doubt it will turn into appointment TV for me.
