Thanks to Toni, mac and Mr. Edmodo for the heads up.
Dear Twitter Friends, the rumors are not what they seem ..... It is !!!
Happening again. #TwinPeaks returns on @SHO_Network
— David Lynch (@DAVID_LYNCH) May 16, 2015
David Lynch just confirmed via Twitter that Showtime’s stalled Twin Peaks revival is officially back on — and it will consist of more than the initially-announced nine episodes.
Showtime president David Nevins followed that up with his own Twin Peaks-y statement, in which he announced that fans will be getting more than nine episodes now. “This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever,” he said. “Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Pre production starts now!”

ReplyDeleteThis mean that no more Kyle MacLachlan for AOS season 3...I guess his story is done
ReplyDeleteI love that he calls it a "fine cup of coffee"
ReplyDeleteI prefer a straight shot of
This makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteAfter re-watching the Wayward Pines premiere last night I was craving some more and new Twin Peaks!
I was expecting the sheriff to say "That's some damn fine Rum Raisin"

ReplyDeleteUsually you can easily wrap a 10 ep season in 11 weeks (shooting-wise, not post prod) wouldn't worry about that-
ReplyDeletehowever I'd rather have him in Daredevil Season 2 as Mr. Hyde
I'm sorry, I don't want more Twin Peaks. It was great and oh-so-scary back then but now, it's not the same. It's almost like Casablanca 2.0 or Star Wars 1-3. For the record, I loved it, I still do. I "watched" every episode hugging lovingly my ears ('cause it was so scary I couldn't listen to it), my eyes ('cause it was so scary I couldn't watch) and my pillow ('cause I was so scared I couldn't stand the series without a nice warm, solid, fluffy, not-scary pillow) but I don't think I'll watch the continuation in the same way.
ReplyDeleteThis is a cable drama that is likely going to have episodes that are longer than 42 mins, and even a network drama would be unable to film 10 episodes in 11 weeks. At a minimum, each episode will probably take 8 days to shoot. 10X8=80 day shoot. 5 days a week (most shows take two days off a week usually weekends). That is a 16 week shoot and again that would be the minimum amount of time to shoot 10 episodes.
ReplyDeleteindeed! Cooper came immediately to my mind =)
ReplyDeleteWell I'm glad they worked things out...
ReplyDeleteGreat news to start your day!
ReplyDeleteThis is pathetic.
ReplyDeleteYeppie!!! That just made my day. Does anybody know how many actors will be returning?
ReplyDeleteI hope Lynch can create the same atmosphere once more. Bob had me more scared that any horror movie ever did since.
Reading this with a smile on my face while sipping my Hawaiian Dark. A fine cup of coffee indeed!
ReplyDeleteSince Finch will direct the whole thing, they'll probably shoot all the episodes together, and with the right scheduling MacLachlan wouldn't have to be there for that long.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if they'll do it, but if the issue comes up, there are ways to circumvent it.
I'm not sure there has been any cast officially signed up except MacLacklan..
ReplyDeleteI could be wrong...
Of course there was the video made by cast members trying to persuade Lynch.. Sherilyn Fenn, Dana Ashbrook, Sheryl Lee, James Marshall and others I'm forgetting..
At the end of last year I saw hat a dozen or so original cast members were interested in returning. You can read their tweets here:

Hopefully as things get set in motion we will get more details!
Inspired by THe X files comeback maybe?
ReplyDeleteExcellent news :)
