The Vampire Diaries Finale Exclusive First Look: Did Elena Just Die?
Sorry, Vampire Diaries fans, things are not looking good for Elena.
In this exclusive first look at the Season 6 finale, a very somber looking gang -- which includes Stefan (Paul Wesley), Caroline (Candice Accola), Bonnie (Kat Graham), Tyler (Michael Trevino), Alaric (Matthew Davis) and Matt (Zach Roerig) -- are gathered for what appears to be some bad news from Damon (Ian Somerhalder). Could this mean that Elena (Nina Dobrev), who just took the cure and became human again, is really dead? After all, group scenes in the Salvatore living room don't have the best track record. But on the bright side, Stefan and Caroline look awfully close, right?

Can't remember when the whole cast was sitting together in a scene? So many handsome people together ^_^

Can we start speculating on who becomes the new female lead now?
ReplyDeleteI think Elena gets really injured during an attack and Damon decides it's too dangerous for here now and compels her to leave and start a new life.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, a month ago when my USP about it was posted most people said Bonnie and Caroline should get the focus.
ReplyDeleteBut I assume a new girl/vamp will come into town. I personally would love to see Leighton Meister on TV again.
No one is replacing Nina.Caroline will take the center stage next season along with Bonnie.

Even though I like the idea it feels to simple for them to end it this way. I sense a major twist coming out way but no clue which one.

ReplyDelete1.How is kai going to escape that prison now that the Ascendent is off the table?
2.Even if the Heretics siphon the Cure out of Elena,she will age more 3 years worth.So,she will be pretty young-21.So,how will she die of old age then?
There is an ascendent on both sides, U remember when traveling from 1904 the ascendent would always stay behind. That is why Kai and Bonnie where searching for it in the save Lily episode. The Bennet blood will probably be Q's.
ReplyDeleteI'm really not sure how this is going to break down with Elena. How will she leave but have a goodbye with everyone? So confusing. But only 2 weeks away.
Two options:
ReplyDelete1) Human Elena has been compelled by Damon to forget everything and she has left town for good. Everyone is gathered to comfort Damon and reminisce about Elena
2) More tragic/dramatic would be Elena's death. And everyone gathered to console Damon.
Don't hate/dislike Elena but I am still hoping for Option 2.
I thought the Salvatores had a new family member, could she show up as the new lead girl?

ReplyDeleteSarah Salvatore is sweet, but don't think she is lead lady material. She could become a regualr but even that is a stretch. I would enjoy a 1 season female lead, potential even a villian love interest jsut to shake up the story.

As far as I know U can't take the ascendent from 1 world to the prison world and the other way around. The ascendent Bonnie destroyed was the present time one so Lily wouldn't use it.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like they are some what following the book if this is the case. I believe Elena had died and then came back to life the following book. They may do the same if TVD is able survive past a 7th season with a new actress who could play the part of Elena if they choose to bring her back.

ReplyDeleteI don't think that someone else playing the part of Elena is in the cards. I can't think of a worse idea, in fact. Nina's gone therefore so is Elena. The plot lines get distorted enough without saying in effect, now you don't see Elena anymore, now you see her again. Who would accept that? Not me, for sure.

ReplyDeleteI think everyone is forgetting option 3 - Kai puts Elena under a sleeping curse (like Dahlia/Freya were under on The Originals) so she won't wake up until Bonnie is dead.
ReplyDeleteNina's gone therefore Elena needs to be gone too, not turn into some kind of "sleeping beauty" who could come back. And sorry Elena fans but I'd rather lose Elena than Bonnie, who is finally having a really good story arc which I hope will carry over into Season 7.

Interpreting what's going on based on just a photo is always dicey. But here are a few observations:
ReplyDeleteBonnie isn't looking at Damon. I think she looks more stunned than angry at him. Or maybe she's both. One way or another she's lost her best friend.
Jo isn't in the photo. I can't see Ric's face too clearly but his posture seems casual so maybe he's put her in a safe place. Or not.
Stefan looks sad and seems to be looking at Damon with sympathy. I think he'd look more upset if Elena had actually died. It could be sadness for himself as well as Damon.
Matt is looking right at Damon. He looks angry but he always does now. The phrase comes to mind "if looks could kill..." He hates Damon. He looks like he hates him even more.
Tyler's got that uninvolved thing going on - again. It's impossible to interpret a blank look.
As for Caroline, all I can say is that she has a very strange expression considering nothing good can be happening.
The one face we can't see is Damon's. I'm afraid of what we'll see on his face in the finale. Despite his good intentions I'm afraid he's made a selfish choice. Or, a noble one and it hurts like hell.
I think so. I certainly hope so. Human Damon does not thrill me.

So i just looked at the picture, (i didn't read what was on the bottom) I just want to say, everyone looks pissed at Damon, and Stefan and Caroline are really freaking close to each other which makes me sooo happy. My feels! And she looks so cute with that dress on!! Ok that's it. I'm getting out of this thread. I'm not reading any comments either. Season finales are no no's for me.

ReplyDeleteI don't think Elena will die. I know death is never a permanent thing in the world of TVD, but I think they'd rather keep her alive so that if Dobrev is available they can bring her back for the final episodes, and another convoluted resurrection plot would drag the show's final season down so much. I think it's more a case of Elena having been captured or placed in danger (again) and we'll get another one of those "let's lay out her plan in great detail so the audience knows some kind of twist will get thrown at is and it will not go to plan at all." a la masquerade. Which is not a dig, because those scenes are always kind of fun, particularly because it gets almost all of the cast together in a scene, which is great. Either that or Elena could be off frame, next to Damon and is saying her goodbyes. Or she's just left, and this is after. Basically, so many possibilities here, but I definitely do not think Elena will be killed off.

ReplyDeleteI think I know what throw U off! The whole time even in 6x17 when Bonnie asks Kai for the ascendent she asks specifically the 1903 ascendent. But the "1903" doesn't mean from which timeline it is, it refers to the prison world.
ReplyDeleteSo during 6x19 everyone was talking about Bonnie destroying the 1903 Ascendent, they didn't mean the one out of the 1903 prison world but the one which leads to the 1903 prison world.
Remember that every time someone traveled from the 1994 prison world to the present time the ascendent was left behind and fall apart to pieces.
Kind of obvious the heretics/kai have Elena and the crew is planning some kind of rescue mission.

This may sound crazy but could this scene be photo-shopped? I don't know how to tell. It would be a sneaky way to throw everyone off the track by causing us to speculate about the meaning of a scene that isn't even real.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading many comments as we approach the season finale I've noticed some trends:
Some fans love Elena and wanted her to become human - which she apparently has - and to be happy with or without Damon; nobody seems to have wanted Elena to remain a vampire; some fans hate Elena and/or Delena and want her exit to happen via death; and others can't seem to accept the fact that Elena's story is over because the actress who played her for 6 years has decided to move on, and they keep trying to figure out ways Elena might come back somehow, some time, somewhere. I'm not criticizing, just saying.
It's just a theory anyway we first have to see how the season 7 ratings look like.

ReplyDeleteElena probably fakes her death and leaves to avoid being hunted for the cure. My bet is that she takes and raises one of Alaric's twins. That way Jo's family doesn't try to force a merge, and Elena gets the family she wanted.

ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess that Elena takes the cure, becomes a human again and all is fine with her, except for that everyone thought since it had been a zillion years since the whole Esther trippiness in Mystic Falls that the Elena-Alaric life-death connection thing was over. It's not. Elena becomes a human but it basically only works because Alaric absorbs her vampirism. "The Darkness" is gone still but he's back to being the show's most badass Original vampire. This creates issues with the whole husband-and-father thing he's got going on now. If we get a bonus of Damon as a human, it also then creates one of the more interesting stories they could do for next season, which is role-reversal on Ric and Damon.
ReplyDeleteFYI...Elena has already taken the cure and is human again. Both Elena and Alaric no longer have vamp. magic in their system & thus I believe are no longer connected in any way. I think Jo / Alaric are out of the picture for next season other then guest appearances. I think Lily will be the new big bad along with her vamp. heretic family.
ReplyDeleteOK - this is might be a bit off topic - but what is up with Matt? Just a few years back he was grateful to be alive because Elena convinced Stefan to save him instead of herself when he ran the truck off the Wickery Bridge which was an incredible selfless act by a girl he once loved - what happened? Did he loose respect for Elena when she turned her humanity off or did Tripp get into his head. Not sure I really care of Matt's character the end of this season.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone else find it interesting how Stefan and Enzo seem to be bonding over Lily? It appears that Damon has written her off but not Enzo. Also, both Enzo & Stefan have referred Lily at one time to being an angel - which is a hopeful sign they will help her.

ReplyDeleteI think they are going to decide to wait a while til Damon drinks the cure because it's to dangerous with the heretics around or something like that (that could also be the reason why Elena leaves, Damon wants her to be safe). And the flashforward (if they didn't cut it) shows Damon taking the cure (years later maybe) and starting his human life with Elena. That way he could still be a vampire for S7 but turn human eventually

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I want a new girl either. I think they need a biggISH name to draw some viewers back in and intrigue the one that stayed. I would prefer a new duo, introducing a new mystery and bring in some new dynamic to interact with all the characters. But we'll have to wait and see what JP has planned for the last batch of eps.

ReplyDeleteMaybe Stefan will tell him this week to show him that Damon needs to let Elena go live her life away from all the danger in Mystic falls,Sarah was better off without knowing any of her vampire family all her life,so i think this will be a nice comparison.
