It's amazing how TVD has completely sidestepped the whole "there's only one dose of the cure" thing from the first time the cure was introduced. They shouldn't be able to split the cure.
to play bad writing devil's advocate, they said there was "one dose" they never said how much of it you had to drink to become human they just assumed the whole thing. but if aI look at a bottom of vodka or NyQuil I could call that "one dose".
They probably got the idea from True Blood. Where the anedote for a Vampire V deadly disease for Vampires was swollen in liquid form by a human. Then because the cure was in her body, all the vampires could drink from her body. They were even able to replicate it. LOL I imagine Damon is thinking he can drink Elena and be cured? Imagine Elena will need to be on the run from all vampires if it ever gets out. I imagine a lot vampires want to be human again..
OPPS my bad, I thought she drank the entire bottle. Looks like some was left. I guess that blows my theory on Elena being a never ending supply of the cure in her blood.
It wasn't stated, it was demonstrated. Katherine was just fine as a human. Once Katherine ingested the cure, Silas needed all of her blood (which had the cure in it) in order to become human himself. Once all of Katherine's blood was drained and thus all of the cure was removed from her body, then she started to age. Removing the cure from Katherine's body aged her, not taking it.
It all fell apart there with Amara. Silas needed all of Katherine's blood for the cure to work (he even said so himself) but then Amara only needed to drink a little of Silas' blood to be cured which made no sense. So, I guess you can say that TVD is using a preexisting plot hole to perpetuate this ridiculousness.
This is true: one from the island in the present time; one from the same place in 1992 (or was it 4?); one from the 1903 prison world - did Lily bring it back with her when I wasn't looking? You can't split a cure - Elena obviously drank the whole thing. There was something about Damon drinking it from her blood to get it? That raises more questions in my mind than I even want to articulate.
Silas would have been a lot worse off (like Katherine was) if Amara had completely drained him. He was up and back to his old self in no time, quick enough to tune Stefan up a little more before Stefan knifed him to death.
Can someone clear this confusion-Let's say Damon sucks the cure out of Elena. But was stated anywhere that the same cure can be used twice to same the same effect?
Once it's sucked out you age to what you should be. That's how both Katherine and Silas were cured, and why Katherine aged and died quickly. Elena should be fine as she was young as both a human and vampire.
Thought it was amazing. I'll be going in the Open Discussion Thread a bit later to discuss it with Spin, if you want to join, you're more than welcome.

ReplyDeleteActually, they did say how much. Galen had an entire conversation with Damon on the island that clearly stated "one cure, one dose."
ReplyDeleteSilas had to drain Katherine of all her blood to get enough of the cure to revert to human form.
ReplyDeleteto be fair, it was not my best, and this show it so much of a joke its hard to make anything better then it.
ReplyDeleteIf he becomes Human, will he age fast like Katherine?
ReplyDeleteNo. The cure didn't age Katherine. Katherine only started to age once Silas drained her of all her blood.
ReplyDeleteWhen was this stated?

ReplyDeleteStefan you better give him some real tough loving here, b/c if Damon willingly takes that cure i I may have to quit.
ReplyDeleteYeah that really pisses me off too.
ReplyDeleteKatherine drank it, than Silas drank her blood to get it, then Amara got it from Silas and died with it in her system. So it's not new.

ReplyDeleteWe'll talk about it tomorrow. Have a gnite hun.

Ya,i figured that out.Thanks anyway.
ReplyDeleteMy bad you are right. Forgot about that
ReplyDeleteIf Damon took the cure I will admit to everyone I've ever argued with (and that is a extremely long list) that they're right and I'm wrong.
ReplyDeleteSo what colour will this be?
ReplyDeleteWelllll, IF they did, i would just consider them going the book route about it. (just came home from seeing AOU)
ReplyDeleteWhat you think? "Cause I have to say personally it was pretty cool. No idea what that is since I have not read it. They won't though.
ReplyDeleteOrange?LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat do iI think about what? And iI read the whole book series, so if he turns human, then they're going with the book route.;
ReplyDeleteAge of Ultron.
