10:15 - MOVIES: J.K. Rowling’s ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Trilogy - Kate Upton, Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Fanning eyed for casting
Eddie Redmayne will star as Newt Scamander in the film, which David Yates will direct for Warner Bros.
Warner Bros. and director David Yates have narrowed down their choices for the two female leads opposite Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander in J.K. Rowling‘s “Harry Potter” spinoff “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” TheWrap has learned.
Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Fanning, Lili Simmons and Alison Sudol are up for the role of Tina, while Kate Upton, Katherine Waterston and Elizabeth Debicki are being eyed to play Tina’s older sister, Queenie, multiple individuals familiar with the situation have told TheWrap.
Though it’s unclear whether all of those actresses are available or even wish to pursue the project, several of them already have test deals in place, and Redmayne is expected to read alongside them during those tests, which are slated to take place over the next week.
Rowling wrote the script herself for “Fantastic Beasts,” which is set in New York roughly seven decades before the start of the “Harry Potter” saga. Only a handful of insiders have read the script, though a breakdown has been circulating throughout Hollywood’s top talent agencies.
An extension of the wizarding world first depicted in that franchise, “Fantastic Beasts” is based on the Hogwarts textbook of the same name written by Scamander, a “magiczoologist” who is an expert in magical creatures.
Is the Finding Carter Synopis for 2x11 legit? I doubt it but you never know with this show haha :)
ReplyDeleteSaorise Ronan and Dakota Fanning in competition for the same role? ... I am conflicted.
ReplyDeleteYep, they are both from MTV
ReplyDeleteThat's so odd hah Unless her real family is actually not her real family. MTV must have mixed something up.. :/
ReplyDeleteYep, I think you're right. I'll keep an eye out for any updates they post :)
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda surprised but happy to see Ricky return to Mistresses, his character leaving abruptly wouldn't have made sense otherwise.
ReplyDeletethanks :)
ReplyDeleteGreat for Richard Schiff! He was one of my favorites in The West Wing and I've never seen much of him since then.
ReplyDeleteOMG those last two episode of VEEP are gonna be hectic! But in a good way... I wonder if anyone is geting fired in the wake of those testimonies?
ReplyDeleteInformation with respect to what Amy and Dan are up to conspicuously missing from those press released makes me think they'll be back on the fold somehow by the end of the season. Hire them already Tom! Please!!!
Baby Daddy: Well at least Riley and Danny aren't "one night standing" with each other, so that's something...
Melissa & Joey: What's up with all the hanging origami swans? Betcha that's Ryder's doing somehow!
With respect to the synopsis: Lennox is a-gonna be jealous! Also HA! at the (I'm assuming) 50 Shade of Grey parody... of course Mel would like a book like that! Of course Joe would hate it and be vocal about it... to the person who wrote it... Double HA! (I'm gonna miss this show...)
Not the best promo Ballers has put out. But still looks great.
I'm really curious about Fantastic Beasts, but that is a bit of an odd casting pool...
