Despite Aunt Dahlia’s best efforts, there’s just no breaking up the Mikaelsons. In fact, following the events of Monday’s season finale, you’ll be seeing a lot more of one family member: TVLine has learned that Riley Voelkel (aka Freya) will be a series regular in Season 3!
“Freya is going to stick around and help raise [Hope],” executive producer Michael Narducci teases. “She’s allowing Rebekah the chance to go have a life by sticking around. I’m really excited to see what role this new sister is going to have in the family and how she may play off of both of her brothers. I’m really excited about that family dynamic.”

ReplyDeleteSaw it coming and now that we saw when she had the PERFECT opportunity to kill Klaus and didn't showed that she can be trusted. So i don't hate it as much as i would've weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteGreat news. I've been hoping for this announcement since she first appeared on the show. It's not every day that you get to add a Mikelson to the cast, so I'm glad they locked her down full time.
ReplyDeleteSince it seems like we'll have to be content with only having Claire Holt back as Rebekah for the big moments, I'm kind of hoping "Of Kings and Prophets" bombs so we can get Maisie Richardson-Sellars back as Rebekah 2.0 full time as well.
with you on Kings and Prophets...especially since its a religious driven show. Don't need that myself, so I'd rather have Maisie back full time as well
ReplyDeleteGood, she fits in well with the rest of the cast. And her and Kkaus have great banter. This is good news, I will miss Rebekah though. Both versions, though they left it open enough she can come back in either body.

Good for Riley. I always wanted Jaime King in this role, but RV has done a fine so far.

I wanted to be interested in her so badly. The basic outline of her character is amazing, but the on-screen reality is just...

ReplyDeleteI don't have a problem with Freya and it will be interesting to see Klaus interact with a diving that hasn't bought into that Always and Forever line. I doubt she'll put up with his crap the way Rebekah and Elijah have.

With the way finale ended I am really happy she is sticking around. I am so sad we are loosing Masie and Claire as Rebekah. :( And yet we have Hayley. *sigh*

I watch TO regularly. I gave up on TVD by season 4 and got back in to it this season. Its just that I only haunt Arrow and Flash fandom regularly. Others like TO, Shield, PoI etc etc etc I only dip my toes once in a while.
ReplyDeleteMasie needs to come back. She was really good as Rebekah. Fingers crossed. At least we have Yusuf Gatewood around. He is a good addition.
Since I never saw Hayley's arc in TVD (I just watched the originals scenes before watching TO) I viewed her with an open mind. To an extend I did like her in season 1. But the whole princess/Queen of werewolf clan thing that really put me off the character. This season it's even worse. I thought the marriage and the joining of the clans would make the werewolves more interesting. Instead they killed all the other leaders in one episode. The guirrero werewolves of last season were interesting and so was Klaus's father Ansel. They were all killed off and we are left with Jackson, Hayley and an incompetent bunch of wolves. smh.
Ah, that's really nice to hear. You should haunt the TO fandom more often, we're not as divided as the Arrow fandom :P

Totally agreed with you, it's not everyday that an actress manages to make a beloved character her own. Maisie really did an outstanding job as Rebekah and I'd love to have her back soon (Narducci said they now could juggle both Claires and Maisies schedule wich would be easier than DGs schedule when he was on Saving Hope). So I'm really hoping that we`ll get to see both Claire and Maisie on a more frequent basis.
You didn't miss anything on TVD, in fact she seemed even worse on TVD. She started out as Tylers best friend, then betrayed him and got his pack + mother killed. The fact that she`s this alleged werewolf queen makes it even worse, the definition of Mary Sue fits her rather well.
The werewolves truly are annoying though, Jackson is the worst character I've ever encountered (100% good, virtually no flaw) and the other wolves are just annoying.
Well, unfortunately they killed my interest in every other character this season. Last season I loved the so much. Now I don't even care.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind her but I want real Rebekah( though Maise has done well)& I'm not suprised real Kohl didn't return.I think the show is getting too many characters and they should get rid of some-Vincent for one.

SO happy Freya's sticking around!!
