‘The Originals’ continued its tradition of having a bloody penultimate episode. Davina is the new leader of the witches. Klaus and Dahlia went on a killing spree. Klaus killed Gia. Dahlia cursed the wolves. Rebekah killed herself in so she could escape a compelled Marcel and try to save Hope. Dahlia attacked Freya. Klaus shared his plan with Cami, that he’s playing Dahlia and knows how to kill her. Klaus tells Dahlia that she can’t link herself to Hope until she links with him.
Least favorite character: So one of my theories ended up being true. Klaus had a plan to fool Dahlia. Last week I would’ve forgiven him, but he took things too far. I know he wanted to make sure Dahlia believed him, but there were other ways. What he did to Hayley, Elijah, Marcel and Rebekah was payback for the dagger and letting Hayley run with Hope. Which is ridiculous considering he was only daggered for a day, while his siblings were daggered for years, and Hayley was just trying to find a way to keep Hope safe. He seemed to have gone easiest on Rebekah and Marcel. So either he doesn’t blame them as much or he’s not done yet. But what he did to Elijah and Hayley was just cruel. Gia never did anything to Klaus, she just died because of her relationship with Elijah. Which means Klaus did the exact same thing Dahlia did with Aiden and Josh. Can’t wait to hear his explanation. As for Hayley and the wolves, I mostly explained my feelings about this last week. I hope he plans to reverse that spell before the end of the season but judging lack of information on Hayley, I doubt it.
Moment I still don’t get: All the way through the second half of the season, I’ve been saying that Jackson won’t live to see season 3. But now, I’m not so sure anymore. Because if the writers were going to kill him off, why wouldn’t they have done it this week. There was absolutely no reason why Klaus wouldn’t have chosen this moment to kill Jackson. The only thing I can come up with, is that he either doesn’t hate Hayley as much as he claims and doesn’t want her to hate him forever. Or that he doesn’t want his siblings to completely turn on him after Dahlia’s been dealt with. But considering his actions this week, both of those options seem very unlikely.
Favorite character: Last week I wondered how they were going to handle the ‘Rebekah in a different body’ situation. This week I got my answer. I was really impressed with her this week. She chose to give up the possibility of a human life, something she’s wanted for so long, for a chance to save Hope. Considering there was a good chance she’d just stay dead, that was a huge risk. Rather than have Marcel do it and having that moment possibly haunt him forever, she took her own life. Judging from the promo for next week, it paid off. Rebekah is back in her own body. You have no idea how excited I am to see Claire back on this show. At this point, I don’t care if it’s only for one episode. The only thing I wish the writers had done, was give her a grand entrance at the end of the episode. But hey, there’s always next week.
Finale predictions: So I think this finale can either go two ways. Either they defeat Dahlia or the exact opposite happens. She’ll gain the upper hand on everyone and disappear with Hope. Frankly, I’m hoping or option 1. Hayley and the wolves will either be freed somewhere in the second half of the episode, towards the ending, or not at all. Elijah won’t forgive Klaus that easily, I think this will create some distance between the two brothers next season. Davina will bring Kol back. I know some think she’s bringing Esther back, no idea why. If someone can explain this theory to me, please do. From a sneak peek I saw that Davina will be mad at Rebekah. Probably because she thinks Rebekah broke her promise to Kol. I have a feeling that Klaus will dagger Rebekah again. It would be an easy way for the writers to explain Claire’s absence. I’m guessing someone will die in the finale, wouldn’t be a proper finale if they didn’t.
Best quotes: Hayley: “It’s okay, baby. Mama’s gonna catch up with you real quick, okay?”
Klaus: “Hey, daddy’s here. It’s all gonna to be okay, I promise.”
So that’s it for this week. Next week is the finale so be sure to check in again then and let me know in the comments what you thought of this week’s episode.
