Updated 22:42: It has been confirmed that CW will air all episode of season 1.
Don't worry, #TheMessengers fans! It's true there won't be a 2nd season on the CW, but the first season will air - and has a satisfying end!

And The CW has also canceled #TheMessengers. http://t.co/N08DTso285

Shocker...LOL
ReplyDeleteIs this a record?
ReplyDeleteObvious one but still sucks. This was done the day it was announced it was premiering on Fridays anyway.
ReplyDeleteSo so sad, but it was expected
ReplyDeleteI will enojy 13 episodes at least, really amazing show
Who didn't see this coming?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean?
ReplyDeleteSadly everyone saw this coming from a mile!
ReplyDeleteSo soon ? Still, it was pretty bad
ReplyDeleteIt premiered very late, that's why.
ReplyDeleteJdhsuansvskdbkBsjs. Can't even express my anger.
ReplyDeleteHmm. Buzzfeeed seems to be the ONLY site reporting this yet.
ReplyDeleteMake that 2 miles.
ReplyDeleteI mean, how many episodes have aired before they cancelled it.
ReplyDeleteTVBTN is reporting it as well
ReplyDeleteWhy, CW didn't have much faith in it in the first place. Premiered in late April on Friday...
ReplyDeleteAh, 3. And not, it isn't. Shows have been cancelled after airing 2 episodes before.
ReplyDeleteShows have been cancelled this season, without even airing.
ReplyDeleteLol true!
ReplyDeleteExactly, it's so soon because it premiered late and this is usually the time range where the networks make their official announcements for their shows.
ReplyDeleteBut for the CW I think TBL with the Marissa Cooper actress ended after just 2-3 eps.
ReplyDeleteOh, ok, thanks. But I was being a bit ironical as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad the concept was good but it was poorly executed.
ReplyDeletetime for CW to announce some pickup news?
ReplyDeleteIs it me or has this years tv season been pretty bad. Actually the last 3 tv seasons have been pretty awful. Here's hoping things start getting better.
ReplyDeleteTVBTN is only reporting it because of buzzfeed. The bear even retweeted this same tweet. And it's not like TVBTN has any insider news unlike deadline, TVLine etc.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably why they had no faith in it and dumped it on Fridays.
ReplyDeleteDeadline reports Cheerleader Death Squad is dead.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's all the renewal/cancellation news from the CW. Hopefully that means the new show announcements aren't far away.
ReplyDeleteShows have been cancelled DURING the first episode's airing, lol.
ReplyDeleteCBS give this show the stepchild treatment. Pity.
ReplyDeleteBabar, deadline reports Cheeleader Death Squad is dead.
ReplyDeletelol, really? Which one?
ReplyDeleteThe news is crusing around the web for 15-20 minutes. Strangely no one besides them announced it. They probably just doesn't care.
ReplyDeleteOnly Cordon and CDS are in contention right now, not including Legends of Tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI won't forget this CW...
ReplyDeleteNo, deadline reports CDS is dead.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I find it strange too.
ReplyDeleteI though they said Dead People is dead.

ReplyDeleteScroll down. There is an update in Red.
What? nooooo

ReplyDeleteScroll down. There is an update in red.
Don't shoot The Messeng... Oops. Too late.
ReplyDeleteBOO!
ReplyDeleteThis was my most anticipated show of the season. And I wasn't disappointed after the long wait, I'm really loving it. I haven't been this burned by The CW since The Secret Circle.
CDS is also dead.
ReplyDeleteNo surprise... Will it air all eps though? Don't watch it but sucks for fans
ReplyDeleteI can't even express my disappointment right now :( My most anticipated pilot by far :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
ReplyDeleteROFL @the photo.
ReplyDeleteWhat? That sucks. So there won't be any CBS-produced new series on the CW next season?
ReplyDeleteIt will air all its 13 episodes, they've nothing to lose there.
ReplyDeleteHmm don't know. Depends on what U like on TV. Some shows delivered badly, some surprised me.
ReplyDeleteA lack of original ideas is present, but still some shows just flip you around without even noticing.
Cheerleader Death Squad being dead is the most devastating news i could get today :(
ReplyDeleteHA! I knew it! I just kept saying this show would get cancelled. It's a shame people were getting really invested in it so soon. This cancellation didn't take long at all. It was screwed from the pilot.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it. Your guess is as good as mine. Only positive thing I see is that the 100's chances of returning in the fall just shoot up significantly.
ReplyDeleteEveryone predicted it's cancellation.
ReplyDeleteMake it 10.
ReplyDeleteI'm stunned. What the . . . Happened there? Cbs should work more forvtheir CW shows.
ReplyDeleteMaybe theybpush one of their pilots to CW
That pic of Taraji smiling. It's like the article is laughing at Messengers fans.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. There is no reason not to air the remaining 9-10 episodes considering 6 or 7 will air in the summer.
ReplyDeleteYou would think so, but some people actually had hope thinking it was the best show on earth. smh I couldn't believe it. But yes a majority did predict it's cancellation.
ReplyDeleteYES YES YES! That would be fantastic! Though still sad CDS was passed on.
ReplyDeleteEven the Flash knew........ from 5.3 miles away. ;) :)
ReplyDeleteAndi thought that cancellation of The Messengers + Tales from the Darkside secured pick-up of CDS. I hate that i got my hopes up so much
ReplyDeleteDamn Damn Damn. Noooo. So that menould stop watching then??? Are they still going to show the rest of the episodes?
ReplyDeleteCookie is so ruthless.
ReplyDelete?????? Who said it was dead?
ReplyDeleteDeadline
ReplyDeleteIt was just posted on theain page.
ReplyDeleteNooooo. :(
ReplyDeleteSo CW will only order Cordon + LoT for midseason .. there goes the talk about BIG SUMMER plans
ReplyDeleteEvents are slowly starting to unravel now. Next 8 to 9 days are going to be stressful, exhilarating and hopeful - all depending on cancellations, renewals and pickups.
ReplyDeleteThey have fans? LMAO
ReplyDeleteOh dear...will enjoy the remaining episodes.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha what a dick. That was funny. C'mon man, don't tease 'em. Let them sulk for a minute.
ReplyDeleteHey! Every show has fans however limited they may be. And I do not judge anyone's preferences. My post wasn't directed at these fans but just a humorous take on what these fans may have felt while seeing a smiling pic with cancellation news.
ReplyDeleteActually the reason is, is that it's cancelled. It probably won't air. You'd probably just watch the rest on DVD. Again i say, probably.
ReplyDeleteNot a shock. The CW didn't even attempt to give this show a chance.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. :/
ReplyDeleteWell it was freakin' awesome although the cancellation was pretty obvious.
ReplyDeleteyeah I really liked the show and seeing this picture I just feel stept on thousand times more. but we all know it was happening :(
ReplyDeleteNo surprises, the writing was on the wall for this show, I just hope they air all the episodes because I love it.
ReplyDeleteSame here. I am even gonna make sure I buy all the episodes on Google Play, for some reason when The CW cancels a show after a season it's removed from iTunes and Google Play within 6 months of it ending and I don't think TM is included in CW's deal with Netflix, and this is a show I'm going to want to rewatch in a year or two.
ReplyDeleteWell apparently it wasn't to the majority of people out there. If it was so "freakin' awesome" it would've lasted more than four episodes. And i'm sorry but we already have a show like that on the CW..it's called Supernatural. I'm sure you've heard of it. A show that actually is "freakin' awesome" And it's lasted for ten years. There's no way The Messengers were going to be taken seriously by fans or the network for that matter. With Supernatural still on the air. And the way they premiered. Terrible!! First of all they aired on a Friday...FRIDAY! That's THE deathslot! Not only that it aired at 9PM. 9pm on a Friday?? Why even bother to put the show in the lineup?? It made no sense. The pilot was terrible, which didn't help b/c that's literally the number one episode that needs to grab people's attenion. Then the next week it was preempted by sports, then the next week was Avengers: AOU. The show had no chance whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteoh okay sad :(.
ReplyDeleteAnd no one was surprised.
ReplyDeleteyeah just saw :(. sad :(
ReplyDeleteWell it's performed terribly and they already renewed basically everything, but yeah. They really didn't.
ReplyDeleteWell I hope it gets decent resolution.
ReplyDeleteBarely anyone gave it a chance in the first place so your point is invalid, sorry. And it's still freakin awesome. You know what? I've been with SPN since day 1 but it has plenty of its own issues story-wise, and how the hell can you even compare the two? They're UTTERLY DIFFERENT. The approach to the apocalypse story, TOTALLY DIFFERENT. SPN was not even originally supposed to BE about angels or the apocalypse. Not to mention it's got a couple years left in at most.
ReplyDeleteAnd why are you acting like there's only room for ONE supernatural drama on The CW? How silly. It's almost as silly as SPN fans who were opposed to Sleepy Hollow because of some superficial similarities.
And, the pilot was terrible to YOU, maybe, but it was not terrible. It was quite solid and intriguing, everything a pilot of the genre should be.
I have to thumb this up.
ReplyDeleteWell iZombie is renewed. Besides this and Hart of Dixie think everything else is returning.
ReplyDeleteWow that was harsh.. Some good points though.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty much dead after they announced that'll premiere on Friday. Still gonna' watch it.
ReplyDeleteShame sounded cool.
ReplyDeleteWasn't trying to be harsh. Just being honest.
ReplyDeleteAnd you were. Honest that is.
ReplyDeleteSaw it coming, but still, you can kiss my ass, CW.
ReplyDeleteThey didn't even give it a chance. They have a double standard I hate SO much. How comes they can renew some shows without even airing the previous season, but they can't give a whole season chance to others? Ugh.
Funny, reading this made me smile just like Taraji.
ReplyDeleteHated the concept.
Yet another bad decision by the CW. Unacceptable.
ReplyDeleteWow...way to even give a chance CW...that's what happens when you barely market the thing and then put it on Friday nights...
ReplyDeleteAnd countered by the renewal of iZombie.
ReplyDeleteIdts. Actually people were waiting to see if it got better, myself included. And it still didn't.
ReplyDeleteSPN yes, that all started in season 4 true. (Also a fan since pilot) BUT the concept is still the same. Good vs. Evil. point blank. And i'll also say their acting on the show was a lot better when the show premiered too.
I'm not saying there's room for only one Supernatural show on there. What i'm saying is, as long as fans, Specifically SPN, (as we all know how hard core our fandom is) for ten plus years, were going to have Supernatural on there, The Messengers had no chance. The SPN fans would tune in b/c duh, it's a Supernatural show, but bottom line, it's the same freaking thing! Been there, done that, still doing that. This isn't like it was a spin off where it could pass. No...this was an entirely new show with the same concept. They tried to make it fresh, and it didn't work. It wasn't gonna work. If it was something like Charmed, (a different supernatural show) then it might've had a shot.
Sleepy Hollow works a lot, why?? Fresh, better acting, different network, and ohhh yeah their pilot brought in 10 MILLION VIEWERS! Not to mention their timeslot wasn't in the deathslot.
And again, the proof is in the pudding, the pilot was terrible to a lot of other people too. Not all, but a lot. Not just me. I'm sorry you lost your show, i really am, but it really didn't have a chance from the moment it started. And it lasted 4 episodes, you really shouldn't dwell on it.
Why even order it, if they weren't going to advertise it and were just going to give it a Friday death slot? Seems like a waste of money to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm already over it, at least they'll air all 13 episodes (there's only been one show in their history they pulled without airing all the filmed episodes) and I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteAlways am.
ReplyDeleteI assume they had bigger plans for it but decided late that they didn't want it. It was probably already filmed by then though, so this was just a burn off.
ReplyDeleteYeah CW you diodnt even gave teh shwo a chance going on fridays.
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure they will, but if they do, hopefully it's a good 13, and you can enjoy it while it lasts. Maybe it'll go out with a bang. Me, otoh, i think now that it's announced it's cancelled, i won't even watch the rest. I don't watch cancelled shows. But i do hope the rest will be enjoyable for you.
ReplyDeleteNot so surprised, but so soon?!
ReplyDeleteME! LOL i'm kidding
ReplyDeleteNo surprise..
ReplyDeleteI wanted to like it, but it was a mess on almost every level.
I knew it as soon as they gave it a Friday premiere on April. Still a shame since it showed a lot of promise
ReplyDeleteBig relief to learn that it has a satisfying end!!
ReplyDeleteYep, we can watch it as a mini series and stay calm
ReplyDeleteI will miss Hart of Dixie, but it was hardly unexpected. The Messengers could have had a better chance as a summer series on a Mon-Thur slot.
ReplyDeleteExactly
ReplyDeleteThank god it has a satisfying ending!
ReplyDeleteC'mon. iZombie is great. Even if you don't like it.
ReplyDeleteWell I guess they just confirmed they'll air all of them.
ReplyDeleteUmm dude I love iZombie. That is why it countered this cancellation.
ReplyDeleteSummer 2016,not 2015
ReplyDeleteFeeling much, much better about it already.
ReplyDeletehuh that's really cool that it will have a satisfying end
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to see if the downstream episodes live up to the early ones. I have a suspicion that TM was swept under the carpet because of budget overruns and/or a creative breakdown. That could cause the episodes to become significantly less entertaining as the series progresses.
ReplyDeleteit's not fair. SAVE THEM, it's not their fault, it's CW fault. Friday. Not enough promotion. Sports took their time in the second episode.
ReplyDeleteReign=Thursdays=0.3=got renewed... It's unfair.
Not shocked. Glad they're airing the whole first season anyway, and glad that it could work as a series finale too.
ReplyDeleteEvery year they intentionally leave at least one show without decent promotion or support. Tax write-offs perhaps? Ha.
ReplyDeleteSorry then xD I thought you were complaining.
ReplyDeleteDucking CW, I know why it happened and I get it; but still damn it. Now I got to bank it on the "satisfying end"
ReplyDeleteidk overall the pilot look like they suck.
ReplyDeleteI was going to drop it since it's cancelled, but the promise of a "satisfying end" will keep me watching.
ReplyDeleteEh, I still won't continue. I don't need some "open ended" ending. After it's 13 Episode run, we'll still be wondering, "what happens now?" And have more questions. No matter how much they try to "close it." . Knowing that there's nothing else coming after that? Eh, no thanks.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I see. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteIt was a tough subject, not surprised it didn't fly in the CW... I'll still watch.
ReplyDeleteThe reason why I ignored it.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually less excited about it having a satisfying ending because now I am going to have to watch the whole season when my schedule is overloaded already. It's intriguing enough that if it does indeed end well, I feel like I should see where they take it.
ReplyDeleteHow old are you? Every show has fans.
ReplyDeleteI actually like this biblical heroes series haha... well I guess at least it will have a satisfying ending :)
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia%27s_Naughtiest_Home_Videos
ReplyDeleteThere is one cancelled while it was airing the first episode.
I don't know what it is, but every time I refresh facebook, the cancellation news pops up in my feed. Pissing me off! Terrible.
ReplyDeleteStill angry about the way they handled it.
Same here. I watched it a little bit, but I didn't like the characters and I hated the concept.
ReplyDeleteFor me the show was canceled for centuries...
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who didn't see it coming? And am I the only who is pissed by this? T_T damn I actually liked the show
ReplyDeleteI like mini-series so I don't mind that Messengers will be a one season series... as long as the promise of a satisfying ending is delivered.
ReplyDelete
