    I think The Grinder could be good. My only fear is that all the gags on the show could become repetitive very quickly.

    I've never been a Stamos fan so Grandfathered isn't for me. Honestly though, I don't think the casting matters that much anyway because I'm not interested in the premise either.

    The problem of course, as with all comedies, is that the "funny storyline" we see in promos only last for that one episode. After the whole "OMG I'm a Grandfather" or "I'm an ACTOR BECOMING A LAWYER" premise runs dry after the first few episodes, the comedy requires consistency and new funny directions to make it sustaining for many more, perhaps 100 episodes to come.

    I'm still going to watch The Grinder. That's one show on my list. As for Grandfathered i'll only watch the pilot, but i really don't see myself sticking with it.

    So true. I think The Grinder has a cast that could pull that off. Both of these seem like they could make it because they're fundamentally really about something underneath the premise. The Grinder is a skewing of how perception and image is everything in modern society while Grandfathered looks like it's really about changing ideals of the roles of men in relationships of all kinds. Gives them both a little more weight to go on than the typical 'half-dozen young people deal with life and love' comedies that don't have a leg to stand on because they're not really *about* anything.


    Both of these shows could wind up being terrible but they at least deserve credit for being different than the usual fare (particularly The Grinder).
