SYFY must have high hopes for it.
ReplyDeleteBut the show hasn't premiered yet? They must have a lot of faith in it.
ReplyDeleteWow, I hope it doesn't let them down. I can't see it averaging much better than most of their new shows in the past year.
ReplyDeleteIs it bad that I've NEVER heard of this?
ReplyDeleteHelix and Dominion, even Ascension didn't star bad it was with 12 monkeys and the second season of Helix that the problem startred, Pehaps Ascension backfired. I think Dark Matter will be decisive.
ReplyDeleteDark Matter is on Fridays along with Defiance and Killjoys so they'll all likely do lower anyway. I was thinking more along the lines of S2 of Defiance, S1 of Dominion and Z Nation for The Expanse. Overall though SyFy must be disappointed with what their shows are doing compared to what they used to. I'm just glad they're finally accepting their new situation.
ReplyDeleteWHAT??? So great!!
ReplyDeleteI think their hope is if they're patient long enough with their shows, and keep getting good ones, their reputation will start to turn around. They have a lot of rebuilding to do to get to where they're hoping to find themselves again.
ReplyDeleteThe trailer looked really good, so yay.
ReplyDeleteSame. It hasn't premiered yet though. It must have tested really well or something.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I think too but then they let shows like Olympus make it through and I start to wonder. I thought Z Nation was horrible too but if I'm remembering right it was among the best rated of their new shows so clearly that has it's fans. But then again so does Sharknado...
ReplyDeleteOr is really cheap like Olympus
ReplyDeleteSci Fucking Fi Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteIs Olympus actually worth watching? I've heard mixed things.
ReplyDeleteThere is a poster with the theory that SyFy has a second season renewal pretty much built into the new shows that they are premiering. Though some of the shows they have are co-productions that they might not have control over renewing. Not sure if I agree with the poster though, I think SfFy is being smart by giving shows at least two seasons to build an audience.
ReplyDeleteIF your someone who can see the bad everything(BE) in things and one who makes known to those BE and because of them you stop watching it. Then don't watch it, its crap.
ReplyDeleteBut me I see the it all the bad, I know its bad, But I still watch it.
What if one day before a Series premieres they say its renewed for 5 seasons? What if!?
ReplyDeleteI agree with this, it does seem they're giving shows a chance by renewing them, 12M wasn't doing much better than Helix after all and got renewed early. Helix also finished it's 1st season pretty low.
ReplyDeleteI still watch it, but it is really one of the worst shows they have ket air on their network.
ReplyDeleteThe Expanse does not look cheap especially compared to Olympus. Olympus according to wiki, is a British/Canadian co-production, SyFy is probably doing more harm than good to their brand by airing it, but it is likely a cheap pick up for them.
ReplyDeleteIf it's not all syfy it might be good, I have not seen anything quality from them they actually produced recently.
ReplyDeleteI watched it for VFX, otherwise the story is crap.
ReplyDeleteIt's a really low budget production shot in front a greenscreen with untalented actors
I hope it is good
ReplyDeleteWhat? When did this premiere? I never even heard of this show..not even a promo or poster..
ReplyDeleteIt didn't, it's coming this fall. Syfy just fell to the level where 0.2 is a good rating for their show, and there's a really good chance this won't fell under 0.2 for most of S1, since it's gonna be only ten eps (I think). So why wait...
ReplyDeleteI hope it suceeds, but I still remember this network renewing Farscape for both S4 and S5. Still was canceled after S4. If Expanse won't do good, there won't be S2.

ReplyDeleteyesssssss! I saw Rachael Leigh Cook in a pic with the lead of the show. I don't know if she's gonna be in the show, even as a guest or not?
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping this, Dark Matter and Killyjoys are all great and do well. Sy Fy with actual space sci-fi shows would be a sight to see!
ReplyDeleteBSG did good on friday nights, I suppose they try to rebuild the "syfy fridays"
ReplyDeleteYh that's what they seem to be trying to do but they'll never be like when they had Stargate & BSG on the night, at least not for a long time.
