NEW YORK, May 14, 2015 — Wrapping up its most watched season in seven years, The CW Network presented its 2015-16 broadcast schedule today to advertisers, affiliates and national media at New York City Center in New York City. The indie-pop band Of Monsters and Men kicked off the presentation with a live performance of their latest single “Crystals,” and their international hit song “Little Talks.”
“This has been a terrific season for The CW, and is a result of a strategy we set in motion a few years ago to broaden out and grow our audience,” said Pedowitz. “We had our most watched season, and our highest-rated season among men, in seven years. We launched The CW’s most watched series ever with THE FLASH, and with THE FLASH and JANE THE VIRGIN, we received more critical acclaim than ever before.
“The CW is heading into next season with incredible stability and strength, and continuing its strategy of adding more original programming all year long. Our new fall series CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND is original and hilarious, and will work as a perfect companion for JANE on Monday nights, while at midseason we have the much-anticipated DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, and the tense action of CONTAINMENT. These three new series are a terrific complement to our already strong schedule, and allow us to keep building on our momentum in 2015-16.”
The CW will launch its 2015-16 broadcast season in October, with premiere dates to be announced later.
Monday night is back-to-back comedy night with CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND at 8:00-9:00 p.m., starring Rachel Bloom as an unhappy lawyer who quits her job and moves across the country in search of love, with her inner monologue providing irreverent musical interludes, followed by Golden Globe-winner Gina Rodriguez starring in JANE THE VIRGIN returning at 9:00-10:00 p.m.
Tuesdays, Grant Gustin returns as the Fastest Man Alive in The CW’s smash hit THE FLASH at 8:00-9:00 p.m., followed by the brainy zom-com iZOMBIE, starring Rose McIver at 9:00-10:00 p.m.
ARROW, starring Stephen Amell as Starling City’s masked hero, is back on Wednesday in the 8:00-9:00 p.m. time slot, followed by the monster-hunting Winchester brothers in SUPERNATURAL at 9:00-10:00 p.m.
Thursdays will be fang-tastic, with Damon and Stefan returning in THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, 8:00-9:00 p.m., followed by the first family of vampires, THE ORIGINALS at 9:00-10:00 p.m.
Mary, Queen of Scots will face off with Queen Elizabeth this season on REIGN, moving to Fridays at 8:00-9:00 p.m., followed by Cycle 22 of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, which will move from Wednesdays in the Summer to Fridays in the Fall.
The new series DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW and CONTAINMENT will premiere in midseason, and THE 100 and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will return with new seasons in 2016.

8:00-9:00 P.M. “CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND”
Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom) is a successful, driven, and possibly crazy young woman who impulsively gives up everything – her partnership at a prestigious law firm and her upscale apartment in Manhattan – in a desperate attempt to find love and happiness in that exotic hotbed of romance and adventure: suburban West Covina, Calif. (it’s only two hours from the beach! Four in traffic). From CBS Television Studios, CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND stars Rachel Bloom (“Robot Chicken”), who also serves as executive producer along with Aline Brosh McKenna (“The Devil Wears Prada”); and Marc Webb (“500 Days of Summer,” “The Amazing Spider-Man” films).
9:00-10:00 P.M. “JANE THE VIRGIN”
Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) has always lived by the rules. She is studying to become a teacher, working her way through school by waitressing at a hot Miami hotel, and she has never forgotten the lesson her grandmother Alba (Ivonne Coll) taught her long ago about the importance of saving herself for marriage. But when Jane was accidentally artificially inseminated (!) her life became as dramatic and outrageous as the telenovelas she grew up watching. Adding to the drama, the donor is reformed playboy Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni), the owner of the hotel where Jane works, and her teenage crush. Although Jane is engaged to her long-time love, Michael (Brett Dier), a detective with the Miami Police Department, and Rafael is married to the scheming Petra (Yael Grobglas), she and Rafael are drawn closer by the pregnancy and begin to fall for each other. The tension proves too much for Jane and Michael, and they call off their engagement... and Jane and Rafael begin seeing each other. But happily ever after is interrupted by murder and mayhem, by scheming exes and maniacal criminal masterminds. Oh, and then there’s the fact that Jane learns her long lost father is Rogelio De La Vega (Jaime Camill), her favorite telenovela star! And now he’s back in her life... with a vengeance. But amidst all the crazy, there are the Villaneuva women – Jane, her mother Xiomara (Andrea Navedo), and her grandmother, Alba, who band together to support each other always, no matter the twists and turns thrown their way. And ultimately, Jane gives birth and a new Villanueva enters the world. And believe it or not... the drama is just getting started. JANE THE VIRGIN is produced by CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television, in association with Electus, with executive producers Jennie Snyder Urman (“Emily Owens, M.D.”), Ben Silverman (“The Biggest Loser”), Gary Pearl (“10.5: Apocalypse”) and Jorge Granier (“Que el Cielo Me Explique”).
TUESDAY
8:00-9:00 P.M. “THE FLASH”
Until recently, 25-year-old Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) lived a normal life as a perpetually tardy C.S.I. in the Central City Police department. Barry is secretly in love with his best friend, Iris West (Candice Patton), daughter of Barry’s surrogate father, Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin). Joe adopted Barry fourteen years ago after Barry’s mother was murdered and Barry’s father, Henry Allen, received a life sentence for the crime – though Barry maintains that a mysterious “Man in Yellow” was responsible. Nine months ago, the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark matter lightning storm that struck Barry – bestowing him with super-speed and making him the fastest man alive. But Barry wasn’t the only person who was given extraordinary abilities that night. The dark matter also created meta-humans, many of whom have wreaked havoc on the city. With the help of his new scientist friends at S.T.A.R Labs, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), and Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanaugh), Barry begins a journey as The Flash to protect the people of Central City from these powerful new threats. However, Barry’s mission gets sidetracked when he comes face to face with the Man in Yellow. Barry isn’t fast enough to catch him but in a shocking revelation the team figures out their beloved mentor, Harrison Wells, is in fact the Man in Yellow and the man responsible for killing Barry’s mother. Harrison Wells reveals his true identity as Eobard Thawne, a man from the future who traveled back in time to kill Barry. When Barry is finally forced to confront Wells, will he be fast enough to catch him? Or will Wells be successful in killing Barry and returning home to the future? Based on the characters from DC Comics, THE FLASH is from by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“Arrow,” upcoming “Pan”), Andrew Kreisberg (“Arrow,” “Eli Stone”), David Nutter (“Arrow,” “Game of Thrones”) and Sarah Schechter (“Arrow,” upcoming “Pan”).
9:00-10:00 P.M. “IZOMBIE”
Throughout the riveting first season of iZombie, television’s only zom-dram-rom-com, Liv Moore (Rose McIver) learned to embrace her undead life and use her zombie powers for good. As an intrepid, zombified medical examiner, Liv ate the brains of the morgue cadavers and, under the guise of being a psychic, used her visions to assist Detective Clive Babinaux (Malcolm Goodwin) in solving murder cases. While Liv’s boss and sole confidante, Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (Rahul Kohli), worked on a cure for her unthinkable condition, Liv battled the evil, zombie-making, brain-dealing Blaine (David Anders) and struggled to protect her loved ones and all of Seattle from a potential zombie apocalypse. Standing directly and unwittingly in the path of the oncoming zombie train is Liv’s ex-fiancee Major Lilywhite (Robert Buckley), whose life spiraled out of control when he began investigating forces beyond his understanding. In our final episodes of the debut season, those closest to Liv are thrust into mortal danger and Liv will be forced to make the ultimate sacrifice to save them. There will be heartbreaking consequences and as the dust settles we’ll see that nothing in Liv’s partially dead life will ever be the same. In season two, Liv will face new and even more powerful enemies and old enemies in surprising new forms. Unlikely alliances will be struck, relationships will be challenged, and the line between good and evil will blur for both zombies and the fully living. Based upon characters created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred, and published by DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint, iZOMBIE is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Spondoolie Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
WEDNESDAY
8:00-9:00 P.M. “ARROW”
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. He returned home to Starling City, bent on righting the wrongs of his family and fighting injustice. To do this, he created the persona of the Arrow and allied himself with former military man John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), billionaire inventor Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), lawyer-turned-vigilante Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), and his sister Thea (Willa Holland). Uneasy alliances and rivalries will shift as Oliver faces his most difficult challenge yet. Based on the characters from DC Comics, ARROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“The Flash,” upcoming “Pan”), Marc Guggenheim (“Eli Stone,” “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters”), Andrew Kreisberg (“The Flash,” “Eli Stone,” “Warehouse 13”) and Sarah Schechter (“The Flash,” upcoming “Pan”).
9:00-10:00 P.M. “SUPERNATURAL”
The thrilling and terrifying journey of the Winchester brothers continues as SUPERNATURAL enters its eleventh season. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have spent their lives on the road, battling every kind of supernatural threat. Over the years, after countless bloody adventures, they have faced everything from the yellow-eyed demon that killed their mother to vampires, ghosts, shapeshifters, angels and fallen gods. With the help of allies — both human and supernatural — they’ve discovered that every victory comes with a price. In the show’s tenth season, the Winchester brothers faced their most personal threat yet. The all-powerful Mark of Cain threatened to consume Dean, turning him into one of the monsters he has spent his life hunting. Meanwhile, a formidable witch, Rowena (Ruth Connell), rose to power to claim her position at the right hand of the King of Hell, Crowley (Mark Sheppard). Once Rowena revealed herself to be Crowley’s mother, the King was forced to choose between his family and the Winchesters. All while Sam, with the help of Castiel (Misha Collins), Crowley, and some unlikely allies, wages a desperate battle to save Dean from the Mark of Cain. Will Sam be able to find a cure for the Mark in time? Will it be enough to save his brother? And a more frightening prospect – does Dean want to be saved? SUPERNATURAL is produced by Wonderland Sound and Vision in association with Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Jeremy Carver (“Being Human”), Robert Singer (“Midnight Caller”) and Phil Sgriccia. Eric Kripke created the series and serves as executive consultant, along with McG.
THURSDAY
8:00-9:00 P.M. “THE VAMPIRE DIARIES”
Season six of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES began with our heroes mourning the devastating loss of Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham), who turned out to be trapped in a 1994 prison world by a sociopathic magic-siphon named Kai Parker (guest star Chris Wood). Unable to cope with the loss of her love, Elena (Nina Dobrev) compelled away all of her memories of loving Damon, which meant that when he finally returned to Mystic Falls, he had to win her over again. Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice Accola) had to come to terms with her feelings for Stefan (Paul Wesley) in light of her mother’s heartbreaking battle with cancer. That battle ultimately proved fatal, sending both Caroline and Stefan down a dangerous path as humanity-free vampires. Bonnie returned from the prison world with a surprise for Damon, the cure for vampirism, which he ultimately chose to give to Elena. Damon and Stefan came face-to-face with their mother Lily (guest star Annie Wersching), who they long since believed to be dead. As the season built to a wedding between Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe), Damon used the ceremony to profess his dedication to Elena, but not without a catastrophic event that left lives hanging in the balance. In the wake of Elena Gilbert’s goodbye, in season seven, some characters will recover while others falter. As Lily tries to drive a wedge between the Salvatore brothers, we’ll still hold onto hope that Stefan and Caroline’s love story is strong enough to survive. Based on the series of books by L. J. Smith, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Outerbanks Entertainment, Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios. The series was developed by Kevin Williamson (“The Following,” “Scream”) & Julie Plec (“The Originals,” “Kyle XY,” “Wasteland”), who serve as executive producers along with Leslie Morgenstein (“Gossip Girl,” “Pretty Little Liars”) and Caroline Dries (“Melrose Place,” “Smallville”).
9:00-10:00 P.M. “THE ORIGINALS”
The Mikaelson family tragedies and triumphs continue as THE ORIGINALS enters its third season. The Original vampire-werewolf hybrid Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and his brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies) have spent one thousand years fighting to protect their dysfunctional family, but now that Klaus and the hybrid Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) share an infant daughter, Hope, the stakes are higher than ever. In the second season, Klaus and Elijah united against their resurrected mother, Esther, who tortured them with demons from their pasts in an effort to persuade them to surrender their vampire bodies and become mortal. Esther, however, was only the harbinger, as Klaus learned that a long-standing curse had marked Hope for a life of isolation and terror at the hands of Esther’s sister, the witch Dahlia, whose defeat came at great cost to the family. Season 3 finds Klaus and Elijah estranged from each other, even as both brothers adjust to life with their long-lost sister, Freya (Riley Voelkel). Hayley suffers mightily at the hands of Klaus’s petty vengeance, while Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Davina (Danielle Campbell) rule the city under a new status quo. Meanwhile, Cami (Leah Pipes) and Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) find themselves caught up in a surprising mystery involving the newest resident of New Orleans — the first vampire ever sired by the Mikaelsons a thousand years ago. THE ORIGINALS is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with My So-Called Company, Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios. Julie Plec (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Kyle XY,” “Wasteland”), Michael Narducci (“The Vampire Diaries,” “The 4400,” “Medium”), Diane Ademu-John (“Body of Proof,” “Medium”) and Leslie Morgenstein (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Gossip Girl”) are executive producers.
FRIDAY
8:00-9:00 P.M. “REIGN”
The second season of REIGN begins with marriages and allegiances torn asunder, as well as the rise of enemies and political unrest. Mary, Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane), and her husband the King of France, Francis (Toby Regbo) lived through the birth of the King’s, but not the Queen’s, son, the plague, and a nation divided. Catherine de Medici (Megan Follows), realizing her limited power now that her daughter-in-law wears her crown, made a bold move to align herself with Mary’s ultimate enemy, Queen Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) of England. Bash (Torrance Coombs), wounded from his failed marriage with Kenna (Caitlin Stasey), sought refuge with an ethereal woman with mysterious powers, while Greer (Celina Sinden) was ousted from favor and took up a surprising occupation, where she flourished. REIGN begins its third season with Mary and Francis realizing that they are more powerful together than apart, believing there is hope for them to move forward, leaving behind the anger and hurt. It also introduces us to another Court, that of Elizabeth, “Virgin” Queen of England. Still early in her reign, Elizabeth faces opposition on all sides, particularly from men who doubt a woman’s ability to rule. Like Mary, and Catherine de Medici, she struggles to hold onto power, and love; the women have much in common, and Mary and Elizabeth are reluctant foes, but foes nonetheless, each positioned by birth and fate to destroy all the other holds dear. REIGN is produced by CBS Television Studios and Whizbang Films/Take 5 Productions with executive producers Laurie McCarthy (“The Ghost Whisperer”), Frank Siracusa (“Beauty And The Beast”), John Weber (“Beauty And The Beast”), Brad Silberling (“Moonlight Mile”), Gretchen Berg, and Aaron Harberts.

“CONTAINMENT”
When a mysterious and deadly epidemic breaks out in Atlanta, a vast urban quarantine is quickly enforced, forcing those stuck on the inside to fight for their lives while local and federal officials desperately search for a cure. Trying to keep the peace on the streets is police officer Lex Carnahan, who has quickly risen through the ranks of the Atlanta PD. But Lex’s job becomes even harder when he learns that his longtime girlfriend, Jana, and his best friend and fellow officer Jake, are trapped within the cordoned area. Also quarantined in viral ground zero is 17 year-old Teresa, who is eight months pregnant and now separated from her boyfriend on the other side; Katie Frank, an elementary school teacher now placed on lockdown with her entire class, including her young son; and CDC researcher Dr. Victor Cannerts, the doctor who initially made the controversial call to quarantine the area and is now racing to find a cure for the virus. On the outside, Dr. Sabine Lommers is leading the government efforts to contain the outbreak, and has asked for Lex’s help in enforcing the cordon – which grows increasingly difficult as the public trust deteriorates. And the public has reason to be wary, as journalist Leo begins unraveling a conspiracy, finding that something doesn’t add up in the official story being told. Torn apart from their loved ones, the survivors trapped within the cordon are fighting against not only fatal infection, but also isolation, fear, and the disintegration of society around them. But as they begin to gain each other’s trust, hope remains, and on either side of the cordon unlikely heroes will rise. CONTAINMENT stars David Gyasi (“Interstellar”); Christina Moses (“Starship: Apocalypse,” “Starship: Rising”); Chris Wood (“The Vampire Diaries”); Kristen Gutoskie (“Beaver Falls”); Claudia Black (“The Originals,” “Farscape”); George Young (“Casualty”); Hanna Mangan Lawrence (“Spartacus: War of the Damned”); and Trevor St. John (“One Life to Live”). Television, with executive producers Julie Plec (“The Vampire Diaries,” “The Originals”) and David Nutter (“The Flash,” “Arrow”).
“THE 100”
For two seasons, the refugees of The 100 sent to Earth have been at war. First with themselves, then with the Grounders, and finally with Mount Weather. Many have lost their lives along the way. All have lost their innocence. They have learned the hard way that in the fight for survival, there are no heroes and no villains. There is only the living and the dead. But now the war is over. The battle against Mount Weather has been won. The prisoners have returned home to a world seemingly at peace, but can they find peace within themselves after what they had to do to escape? And is there more to life than just surviving? Unfortunately, their newfound sense of normalcy will be short-lived, and their lives will be changed forever, as threats both old and new test their loyalties, push them past their limits, and make them question what it truly means to be human. First, they fought to survive. Then, they fought for their friends. Now, they will fight for the human race. Based on the book series by Kass Morgan, THE 100 is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, with executive producers Jason Rothenberg and Leslie Morgenstein (“The Vampire Diaries”).
The 100 is missing :(
ReplyDeleteBut Caity Lotz in Legends of Tomorrow!!!!
Are they serious? They put their best show The 100 for midseason? Shame
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable they kept Containment/Cordon for MS. O.o
ReplyDeleteThis is mostly what we expected.
Sad The100 isn't coming back in fall.
So basically the only major difference is The Originals being paired with The Vampire Diaries.
ReplyDeleteMeh.
Unbelievable that they kept Cordon for midseason as well and that they are keeping Reign on the fall schedule
ReplyDeleteWow, they kept TVD on Thursday. I do like the pairing of TVD and Originals but didn't expect them to end up on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteThe 100 has been moved to Mid-Season along with 4 others. I wonder if they have time or will i-Zombie be a short run?
Shocked Reign kept its fall slot. It's a decent schedule but CEGG leading Monday seems odd. Let's hope they announce TVD ending.
ReplyDeleteYey I had no idea iZombie was renewed!
ReplyDeleteWow, both Cordon & The 100 are at mid-season, what a letdown.
ReplyDeleteI hope The 100 isn't 13 episodes, 'm hoping for at least 16 again.
Hate that The 100 is shoved to midseason and BATB actually made it to midseason, too? And I think this makes it pretty clear that Reign has been moved to summer too.
ReplyDeleteSurprised they are not premiering Cordon (Containment) in the fall.
The 100 is reserved for Mid-Season.
ReplyDeleteSo Cordon is now Containment? I was hoping for it to be on the fall schedule..
ReplyDeleteLegends of Tomorrow better be launched on January. It will likely be the biggest hit of next season.
Reign got Friday fall spot. Seems like it stays in regular season this year.
ReplyDeleteReign is airing at 8 on Fridays
ReplyDeleteThey put a low-rated limited episode show that was lucky to be renewed at midseason? That sounds like great planning. I love The 100. It's my favorite show on The CW, but TV is a business and this makes a lot of sense.
ReplyDeleteI know but I wanted it to premiere this fall :( It's one of my favorite CW Shows.
ReplyDeleteTotally missed that.
ReplyDeleteSo they're only airing one new show this fall?
ReplyDeleteMissed that.
ReplyDeletedummy.
ReplyDelete(dummy)^2
ReplyDeleteThat's what happens when you basically renew everything..
ReplyDeleteExcuse me?
ReplyDeleteI think pairing TO and TVD is a good idea.. I'm glad they did that and moved TO to Thursday. Good move CW good move.
ReplyDeleteNo. You can excuse yourself.
ReplyDeleteReally, Reign got a fall spot?
ReplyDeleteI have to wait for The 100 that long? Are you crazy? And for Legends of Tomorrow too?....I swear this fall sucks on every network.
ReplyDeleteCrazy Ex-Girlfriend is a CBS show too, so there are two CBS owned shows getting fall slots.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't really believe that BATB will make it to midseason by the way. They have The 100, Legends of Tomorrow and Cordon for midseason and the only obvious open slot is Top Model's.
ReplyDeleteI hope they at least show the trailer for Cordon.
ReplyDeleteBatB has to go to summer, surely? There is no room for it.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be very weird for me not to have any new show to look forward to on the CW next fall, I am always so excited for their shows. Such a shame that they are forcing Crazy Ex Girlfriend on schedule but are leaving Cordon and LoT for midseason
ReplyDeleteI think they just wrote midseason like that. Think they did that last year as well.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what day The 100 will air on.
ReplyDeleteWith the midseason shows, are they going to do like ABC did with Agent Carter? They put the show in the Agents of SHIELD break, which was a smart move may I say. I think they should do something like that at least with Arrow and The Flash having the spinoff now, Having breaks every month it's not cool.
ReplyDeleteI think it was smart to save "Legends of Tomorrow" for midseason. They should debut when "Arrow" and "The Flash" are on their winter breaks.
ReplyDeleteIs that official?
ReplyDeleteYes Agent Carter will be a bridge
ReplyDeleteJTV is as well but returning show I meant mostly.
ReplyDeleteI didn't expect Cordon to be pushed to fall.
ReplyDeleteWell, we know LoT would kick off next year, they announced that since it was picked up. I'm hoping for January. I am surprised about Cordon though. I was certain it would get a fall spot. Does Crazy Ex Girlfriend even have a re-tooled pilot or a re-tooled cast yet?..
ReplyDeleteCrazy Ex-Girlfriend /Jane the Virgin at least makes sense as a combo, seeing how the shows don't fit with any other series. But they will struggle on Mondays.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't believe Beauty and the Beast got, apparently, a 4th season. The 2nd one was a mess and with very low ratings...
ReplyDeleteAlso, I could never wrap my tongue around "Cordon" as a title so I'm glad they changed it.
ReplyDeleteI know that, I was asking about Legends of Tomorrow doing the same.
ReplyDeleteI think Tuesday in iZombie's spot or Wednesday again.
ReplyDeleteis what official? CL? Yes, she's in the poster and looks to be playing White Canary...or Princess Leia of Hoth :D
ReplyDeleteI really can't see TVD and TO getting above 0.7 very often...
ReplyDeleteYay for "iZombie"!
ReplyDeleteNot even the Flash got a renewal for a season, before the bod before it was shown. Why would they do it?
ReplyDeleteNooo at The 100 being kept for midseason!! And Cordon not in the fall either, I hate this. So I'll only have The Flash and Arrow.
ReplyDeleteSweet TVD and TO same night.
ReplyDeleteSadly the one show I don't think will be any good is debuting in fall, but that might be a good thing in the long run. Either it will be better than I think or it will tank fast. It will be a long wait until The 100, but if it's anything like season 2, it will be worth it. I have iZombie sticking with The Flash to tide me over until The 100 premieres.
ReplyDeleteoh sorry. I thought missed it. I did at first.
ReplyDeleteno worries :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a solid schedule. I expected a bit more moving around, but stable does good things for CW.
ReplyDeleteiZombie keeping the Flash post is really good for the show. I hope people will stick with it. This week was quite shocking.
Monday will obviously flop but in midseason we can it replace with The100-LoT combo, should work fine.
Wednesday is stellar.
Not sure if Thursday will do good with the current numbers. I hope VD and TO will both rebounce.
Can't believe there will be a almost a year long break between season 2 and 3 of The 100.
ReplyDeleteMan season 4 of Arrow )and season 2 of Flash and one of Legends) is gonna be f*cking awesome! But especially Arrow since it'll be Green Arrow now.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a sensible thing to do, ABC made a good decision with its shows when it decided to split the season in 2 very clear halves and air other shows in between. Even better if the bridge show has a connection to the series on a break (like Agent Carter and AOS). So they should try that out.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be very weird for me not to have any new show to look forward to on the CW next fall, I am always so excited for their shows. Such a shame that they are forcing Crazy Ex Girlfriend on schedule but are leaving Cordon and LoT for midseason
ReplyDeleteThink it is smart to keep Cordon behind. They surely want to push the drama on the show and go big on it, so better to have 13 eps for it.
ReplyDeleteseriously low rated crap like reign is in the fall and the 100 is kept at midseason!
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I thought it was just a rumor, but it's true. I don't get it either, maybe it is because of the syndicate thing or whatever it's called? But I would understand if they did it with The Flash or Arrow, their most succesful shows, but this one is the less one... The CW people are weird...
ReplyDeleteBut I don't think it is good for the CW to keep both its most promising shows to midseason
ReplyDeleteGood question.
ReplyDeleteLets hope for a LoT-The100 combo on Mondays, after the current schedule fails. ^^
I am shocked that Cordon is kept for midseason (worst name change so far BTW)
ReplyDeleteI am shocked that Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is getting fall spot
Also surprising is iZombie staying behind The Flash
Me neither.
ReplyDeletei think iZombie, Crazy ex will be 13 - 16 eps. Originals will movie to friday midseason and the 100 will air in it's place. Legends will go on tuesday, containment will go to mondays. B&tb kept for summer
ReplyDeleteI see that this show has the usual CW gender quota, with 5 males and 2 females. I imagine 3 episodes, tops, will pass the Bechdel test.
ReplyDeleteCordon was the only show I cared about and its renamed more generically and stuffed in midsession? Meh.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a Friday combo to me
ReplyDeleteThe 100 season 3 synopsis:
ReplyDeleteFor two seasons, the refugees of The 100 sent to Earth have been at war.
YAY FOR REIGN
ReplyDelete"Syndication" where the studio gets revenues from distributing shows they produce locally and overseas. It must have mean, CBS found a working business model that has proven to be lucrative for them to keep the show going.
ReplyDeleteI think LoT is supposed to be a full fledged season sow, not an 8-10 episode bridge show
ReplyDeleteI would love that. But I don't think it is a good idea at all to make LoT go up against Gotham and Super Girl. Two is already enough at the hour, they would cannibalize each other and DC would be very unhappy
ReplyDeleteYes, I don't believe it will air in the season
ReplyDeleteAnd I am very happy for Reign, but i expected it to get Friday spot anyway
ReplyDeleteI Love you, The CW. But why they not pull reign and jtv together?
ReplyDeleteYes me too, I knew that sadly LoT would be for January but I was hoping they would give us Cordon at least. I have no interest in Crazy Ex Girlfriend
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know but I'm just really happy to see Caity Lotz again, I really love her :) What's a Bechel Test?
ReplyDeleteThe "The Flash"/"iZombie" combo has been working in the ratings, even in weeks "The Flash" was a repeat so I'm happy they kept them together.
ReplyDeleteSounds fantastic.
ReplyDeleteYes me too
ReplyDeleteReally? Why not?
ReplyDeleteI don't see it having a full season to be honest. At least not yet, but we know little about it so we'll have to wait. Hopefully not much longer.
ReplyDeleteI'd like that but like omabin said I doubt they'd put LOT against Gotham and SG and I can't see The 100 being at 8pm.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, they may be spreading out the poorly rated stuff. When everything starts it's usual spring collapse they may need The 100's fairly reliable 0.5.
ReplyDeleteAs you can see my avatar+name i am very happy too. I just expected Cordon to get it
ReplyDeleteI think the surprise comes from the fact that Reign got a fall slot while The 100 didn't despite The 100 being higher rated. I think the problem is Top Model though. Reign-Top Model is a much better pairing then The 100-Top Model which would be quite non sensical
ReplyDeleteSyndication for one, critical acclaim for the other.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for this show, I can barely control myself
ReplyDeleteWe don't know if The 100 will survive the long break though, the break between season 1 and 2 was really short.
ReplyDeleteThey're debuting Crazy Ex-Girlfriend before Cordon? Didn't see that coming. I don't agree with it either. A new show against Supergirl and Gotham. Good luck. Maybe it'll work and be as well liked as Jane.
ReplyDeleteArrow/TheFlash/SPN/iZombie I'm so happy with. The 100 mid-season, not so much because of the wait but it's worth it.
I wish they would put ANTM during the summer and have a full Friday of dramas.
I think I was suspecting "Cordon" would be on Wednesday or Thursday.
ReplyDeleteThis year it won't have a full season since it is premiering midseason but Season 2 onwards I think it will
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds intense, and the book series has only reached its third book (Homecoming)
ReplyDeleteAgree. This CrazyExGf show is pulled out of nowhere, they should've kept CDS at least it had some buzz!
ReplyDeleteAs long as The 100 comes back in midseason and not during the summer I'll be fine
ReplyDeleteOh I see I thought maybe 13 eps they could squeeze in but a full season god knows, I guess some of the new shows will probably fail.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds amazing. Thank you for sharing, Babar. I can't believe the long wait!
ReplyDeleteThe 100 at midseason is a much better deal than pushing it to Fridays. Also The 100 will not be full season while it is still possible that Reign will be to get it to a higher episode count before The CW has to negotiate will affiliates.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, maybe I'm just trying to find a positive spin on having to wait almost a year. xD
ReplyDeleteJust as I said, Reign goes to Fridays and Jane The Virgin stays on Mondays. CW would be stupid to do so otherwise.
ReplyDeleteTop Model has to survive the move from Wednesdays though. So that means, airing encores on Fridays throughout August-September just to condition people in anticipation of the change of days.
ReplyDeleteMid-season will be a mystery again. I just hope they won't push it completely to summer. That would be devastating. I mean The100.
ReplyDeleteHow can it be back at midseason though? I think it is safe to assume that both Cordon and LoT will have priority over The 100 to come back.
ReplyDeleteAnd the only slot that will open is Top Model. So even to fit the two promising newbies on to the schedule it requires the cancellation or pull of another show (Reign? Crazy?). I think expecting them to actually cancel or pull two shows when they barely even do it is too much. No?
"The new series DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW and CONTAINMENT will premiere in midseason, and THE 100 and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will return with new seasons in 2016."
ReplyDeleteHave they moved The 100 to Summer? I'm so beyond not ok with that if they have...
I believe so
ReplyDeleteI hated that Sara was killed off Arrow so this will be nice, yeah.
ReplyDeleteThe Bechdel test is a determinant of how well a show or movie does in terms both the quality and the quantity of female characters (although not everyone agrees that it's a good test). To pass the test, the movie or episode has to have at least one conversation between two women about something other than a man. It sounds trivial, but when you think about it, most episodes of The Flash, for example, have not passed this test.
And new show without lead-in premiering on difficult night for CW and against Supergirl/Gotham. They are not even trying to get hit show from CBS
ReplyDeleteVD/TO on the same night, sweet brings back Buffy/Angel night memories from the past.
ReplyDeleteIt sucks Nina is gone, because a crossover event would be perfect now, with a storyline carried on the same night across both shows.
Hasn't Top Model been airing on Fridays for a few good years now?
ReplyDeleteyou and me both!! I need a trailer or something :D
ReplyDeleteDamn that is cool.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I am dreading the wait but I think it will only get to air in the summer sadly
ReplyDeleteSadly seems like it. CW always chooses the wrong sacrificial lamb.
ReplyDeleteDamn I wanted the 100 in the fall
ReplyDeleteI know, it's just that I don't want to imagine a world in which we have to wait 1+ year to have the show back.
ReplyDeleteDamn it! The 100 should have gone to Fridays! Why keep Reign when it's going to hit 0.2s there for sure?!
I have nothing against Reign, but The 100 had better chances of success on Fridays :S
Me neither and I´m mad.
ReplyDeleteThe 100 : The wait until summer will kill me, but look at the positive side. It will easily be renewed. If BatB can be renewed for S4 before S3 even premiered with 0.2, The 100 will live for more years :)
ReplyDeleteMe too :( So much! Oh I see, I thought it might be something like that but the name through me off :) Thanks for explaining. I'd love to see more this disparity become uniform too.
ReplyDeleteReign Season 3 Synopsis?
ReplyDeleteI at least hope the 100 will at least get a 16 episode order.
ReplyDeleteI also think Reign will be pulled from Fridays till midseason.
I like the test and agree more lead females are always great, but why so pessimistic?
ReplyDeleteLast season, ANTM aired first-run episodes on Mondays before moving back to Fridays prior to the start of the fall season.
ReplyDeleteIt's supposed to be on Fridays on the get-go but after the collapse of the net's latest attempt at full-night comedy block, they decided to have Top Model go there for half the entire season.
Actually if any of their shows would survive Summer it would be The 100, they actually choose the right show to go there if it's good ratings they're looking for. Reign on the other hand just shouldn't have been renewed, it can't do well anywhere. The wait could really kill the show though.
ReplyDeleteI guess that's the upside. The 100 may live on summer, but the hiatus is going to kill me :S
ReplyDeleteI always which they made a gradual transition:
Fall on S2, then Midseason on S3 and finally summer on S4, that way there would be not a 1+ year hiatus
The problem here is that I see 0% chance of The 100 ending up airing on a weekday during midseason. I even think that it even airing on Friday midseason will be a lucky break that I don't know how it happens...
ReplyDeleteBear with me: they have 10 shows for 10 slots on the fall and 3 shows for midseason. Out of those 3, for sure Cordon and LoT will be higher on their priority list than The 100, wouldn't you agree? And out of the 10 they have airing in the fall, the only obvious open slot is Top Model's. So to even have the room to air Cordon and LoT midseason, they will need to push or cancel Reign or Crazy Ex Girlfriend, which already seems hard to believe considering how little often CW does that. For them to imagine them doing that with two shows seems way too much for me.
Maybe if IZ is a short season again and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend flops The 100 can make mid-season.
ReplyDeleteAnybody else hates the new name for Cordon?
ReplyDeleteThey keep crap shows like reign in the fall but cannot have the 100 be in the fall?! The 100 is a hundred times better in quality
ReplyDeleteThe best premise and the best show pushed for later on >_<
ReplyDeleteNo change in show runner for Supernatural? Dang.
ReplyDeleteI think the problem is the awkward pairing of The 100 and Top Model. Reign is a much better fit. Honestly they should have just aired the entire Top Model season in the summer. When they have this many scripted shows, it makes no sense to waste a fall slot with a low rated summer reality show.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it can replace ANTM? I don't think it'll get a weekday airing during the season.
ReplyDeleteWill they announce if TVD S7 is the last one today?
ReplyDeleteIt break my heart :(
ReplyDeleteMy favorite drama may take more than a year to return >_<
My guess is that focus groups or whatever thought it was too similar to James Cordon.
ReplyDeleteThat irks me so much. I hoped he would jump ship.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is a possible scenario. But I don't know why would the CW give its most procedural show a short season. What would be the rationale?
ReplyDeleteIt's named after the woman who invented it, a cartoonist named Alison Bechdel. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to admit, this will probably sound silly or even "feminazi" to some, but one of the (many) reasons I prefer Agents of SHIELD to the DC shows is that nearly every single episode of AoS passes this test, usually with flying colors. Arrow has been doing better this season in terms of f/f interaction but still trails far behind AoS, and The Flash, as fun as it is, does very poorly in this department.
I keep calling it Cordon lol
ReplyDeleteMaybe we'll find out during the upfront presentation.
ReplyDeleteI agree completely. The CW should have thought it twice before pushing Top Model through November
ReplyDeleteCW only releases fall promos to the public and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has no pilot, so that means no promos for us?
ReplyDeleteDo we know the episode order for each show?
ReplyDeleteThere are some future intriguing spoilers in some of these synopses.
ReplyDeleteRe-looking at the ratings, Reign tied or was 1/10 lower than The 100 every time except once. In its finale, The 100 tied Reign with a 0.4 so they were both close enough that I don't think 1/10 made that much of a difference business wise. The 100 is just lucky that it finished airing in March before the ratings tumbled more.
ReplyDeleteBut for it to replace ANTM, Reign has to pulled to summer, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has to flop and be cancelled and Virgin moved to Fridays. Where else would they ahve the room for LoT and Cordon?
ReplyDeleteI'm basing it on how The Flash has been (to be fair, Arrow has improved this season with lots of Thea/Nyssa, Laurel/Thea, Laurel/Nyssa, Laurel/Felicity etc. scenes). I enjoy the show on the whole but the gender balance is really off.
ReplyDeleteI think I can count on one had the amount of times that Supernatural could have passed this test in 12 years.
ReplyDeleteCrazy is 12, that's all I know.
ReplyDeleteDoubt they will keep that 3 minute LoT trailer from us.
ReplyDeleteLol I hadn't even thought about that. But two years ago I am sure we got a promo for the 100 and star crossed at the upfronts.
ReplyDelete12? How random. Why not 13?
ReplyDeleteThe creator said they wanted short seasons, Jason did the same with The 100 and got what he wanted, but like you said it's procedural so CW could make IZ do full seasons, unlike The 100 which a more valid reason. I'm just trying to be hopeful here.
ReplyDeleteI watch more shows on CW than any other network.
ReplyDeleteThe iZombie press release . In season two, Liv will face new and even more powerful enemies and old enemies in surprising new forms. Unlikely alliances will be struck I wonder if Liv and Blaine have to team up, yes I know this would very hard considering events of this week episode but there has to be a bigger bad than Blaine out there....
ReplyDeleteFor the out of the blue show nothing seems random. ^^
ReplyDeleteThere usually is in cases like these.
ReplyDeleteYes for Reign move to Fridays and The Originals paired with TVD, 2 very good moves
ReplyDelete+kepping Wednesdays
Dont know what to say for Crazy Ex Girlfriend, its a great pairing with JTV but i fear it will bomb as a self starter
This schedule makes sense, the only surprise is that Crazy got the fall premiere instead of Cordon. I thought it had to do some heavy retooling and thus it would be midseason.
ReplyDeleteI honestly believed iZombie would move to Mondays and Cordon would premiere out of The Flash.
But honestly, it all makes sense, though I believed Reign was summer bound.
Did the CW just revealed that Lily will be coming back for season 7 of TVD ? :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't like the name "Cordon", but the new name is pretty generic.
ReplyDeleteIn an ideal non constricted world, I would have liked this:
ReplyDeleteM: The Originals | Jane the Virgin
T: The Flash | Cordon
W: Arrow | Legends of Tomorrow
T: iZombie | The Vampire Diaries
F: The 100 | Supernatural
I refuse to call it Containment lol, it's too long and I'll probably just spell it wrong half the time!
ReplyDeleteLOL, yeah, Supernatural is so not a good show when it comes to this test. Add to that the number of recurring female characters who have died horrible deaths (although at this point, hasn't nearly every single recurring MALE character met the same fate?) and it's not very feminist-friendly.
ReplyDeleteIt's entirely possible the women have to have names, too, I don't remember.
Maybe, but if it's a limited series they could also premiere it in the fall and replaced by The 100 at midseason. Anyway, I'm just looking forward to the show but I guess I now have to wait. I'm also mad that The 100 is kept for midseason.
ReplyDeleteYes, they did. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a good schedule. They just should've picked up CDS instead of this Crazy girl with no direction.
ReplyDeleteIt could move to Mondays if Crazy Ex- fails. No way will they let The 100 anchor Monday.
ReplyDeleteEven I'm excited for this show.
ReplyDeleteFair. Flash is really bad for that test. Hopefully it'll get better once Caitlin and Iris interact more.
ReplyDeleteScrew you, The CW. Just... screw you.
ReplyDeleteOr Cordon and LoT have a shorter episode count and they bridge like Agent Carter. Or The CW goes back to premiering first like they did a few years back. It's too soon to tell without episode counts. More than likely you are right, but I think The 100 as a summer show would be a good thing for it. It makes a fourth season more likely, especially if 2 new shows hit well.
ReplyDeleteSeason 2 hasn't ended yet, has it?
ReplyDeleteI expected reign to stay in the fall because its in need to get to syndication unlike The 100 which had limited orders.
ReplyDeleteOther than iZombie staying put I like the scheule. Though CW likes Reign way too much if they are keeping it on fall.
ReplyDeleteYeah I understand you. I just don't want me to get false hopes :/
ReplyDeletesounds good to me
ReplyDeleteCordon is the name of the original Belgian show too, so I guess they wanted something different.
ReplyDeleteReign got a Friday slot its hardly eating up another shows slot.
ReplyDeleteNo, the finale airs tonight
ReplyDeleteIf it premieres during the summer I'd like it to keep its timeslot; it won't have competition and it's a non Friday weekday
ReplyDeleteFinally! TVD and TO on same night... I would've probably switched around though TO followed by TVD... Cordon is now called containment?... Glad Reign back on Fall hopefully for full season
ReplyDeleteIts because of syndication, the best show they could have put on Fridays.
ReplyDeleteWith 3 shows mid-season, I have a feeling not all CW shows will be getting 22 or 23 episode orders, unless CW plans to have LOT used a filler-schedule during January and February, and have Flash and Arrow on break, to avoid so many gaps in the schedule after Christmas and have both shows run break-free March to May.
ReplyDeleteBut something has to be 13 episodes, because where will LOT or Containment fit mid-season. It would be good for CW to use LOT like ABC did with Agent Carter. e.g Legend of Tomorrow can take Arrow's slot, and Containment can have Flash's mid-season, then once Arrow is back, it takes Legends slot back, and Contaiment can move to 9pm once Izombie finishes.
Yes it is possible as you are saying but those things feel like long shots to me. We'll see. I agree with you that it would be good for the show, it just wouldn't be good for us to wait that long lol
ReplyDeleteIs Under the Dome not on Wednesdays at 9?
ReplyDeleteI expected Containment to take post The Flash slot, and IZombie to go to Mondays instead of CrazyGF. But very good schedule.
ReplyDeleteIt can be 16 even at mid season, that already know it can run into summer if need be and still do ok.
ReplyDeleteBut seems like VD got a synopsis as well. People are mentioning Lily will be back.
ReplyDeleteFair point!
ReplyDeleteThey have announced the synopsis of the third season of Reign?
ReplyDeleteTVD is still stronger imo.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Top Model premiering earlier? Depending on where things go, it's possible that it could be ending earlier than November by at least two weeks.
ReplyDeleteCW went to great lengths to get a companion for JTV
ReplyDeleteI agree, this schedule is quite stable. And with Cordon (or Contaiment, as it is now called) for midseason, they give iZombie more time to establish an audience behind the Flash
ReplyDeleteI don't really like the lack of a promising newbie in the fall, it's weird
ReplyDelete
