That was what I was thinking too. I love Sara. I am fine with which ever way they go and Laurel has gone really forward with being BC. With Nyssa's training she has improved a lot. So now Sara's return will only strengthen her.

ReplyDeleteIt's different. MCU already deals with magical powers and gods with magical hammers. We are talking about a show that people didn't like when they introduced metahumans on it. Now they are brining people back from the dead. And it cheapened all other deaths on the show. Why is Sara the only one who deserved to come back? And every time someone gets killed people will get mad that they weren't brought back. Death pretty much lost its meaning.
ReplyDeleteExactly, my guess is that to get Nyssa off his back Malcolm throws Sara into the pit who has been dead for too long not to be completely altered as a person and thus takes on the persona of white canary.

So Sara had to die. My guess is it will be Rip Hunter who will bring her back. Nyssa can jump through hoops but Malcolm won't bend to her will.

Problem is men are always dressed from head to toe where as women are always dressed to show off their assets. Just look at Laurel's BC poster from fight club promo. She is put in a weird pose because they need to show her ass, boobs and face in the same shot. Its the classic comic heroine pose. Men will stand straight with their body towards camera but woman has to show their ass and boobs. So when this much sexism exists even now it is not wrong to ask for more practical action appropriate clothing for female heroes.

ReplyDeleteNot entirely true, Spiderman has a skintight suit that almost perfectly showcases his beachbod, same goes for quite a few heroes out there (Green Arrow being one of them).
ReplyDeleteThe only issue is that there's high awareness of any kind of potential sexisms these days. With many issues I agree a few of them however are massively hypocritical since there's the essentially same for the opposite sex as well.
Thor, Spidey, Wolverine and quite a few others are so unproportionally pumped up that there's no reason but pointless sexing up for it
However, Arrow is really not a show to complain about sexism...given Arrows first official promo poster and the countless shirtless training montages ;)

But if you look at posters of male super heroes it will be most of them will be showing off their armor be it Thor's hammer, captain America's shield or Oliver's bow (recently. Initially it was all about shirtless Amell. Bless). You never see them posing with their ass as main focus.
ReplyDeleteI have not much complaints about Arrow. Except for Laurel's poster. I actually like Sara's costume a lot. It is my favorite among females on the show. Except for some posters and BTS photos honestly her cleavage was not even that pronounced on the show.
When I said I wished they changed the costume. I meant instead of just white washing her old costume I wish they had given her a completely different new look.

Think Containment could raise The100 viewership as the they have similar themes.

I think it can do better, and I think The CW heads expect it to do better. Not because it's a better show, but because they might have more faith in it.

I think they'll give in a midweek spot with a better lead in. Possibly TVD or TO. Keeping JP shows together and her happy that way...
I assume The100 will be late spring-summer show. Containment will probably get the post Flash spot or Monday 8pm. But we'll have to see what CW has planned.
