Thanks to darkness for the heads up.
I'm very very very excited about my pilot Studio City. It's my best work. Can't wait for you to see it. Stay tuned...

After FOX surprisingly passed on musical dramedy pilot « Studio City », Warner Bros. Television may have successfully shopped it elsewhere…
The OC meets Shameless US written by Grey’s Anatomy’s Krista Vernoff and starring Eric McCormack, Heather Graham and revelation Florence Pugh was the most surprising no-go of this pilot season since it was red hot at FOX during the whole process. It was briefly eyed for a midseason launch but FOX definitely passed on it a few days ago. So Warner Bros. Television did what they often do: they tried to shop it elsewhere. And this time, they may have succeeded!
There’s no word yet on which network (or cable channel? Or streaming platform?) Studio City has landed. Feel free to speculate! Details are being kept under wraps for now, since the negotiations are still going on, but an announcement is expected within days. The cast should not change, with actress Diane Farr joining.

Come on Warner Bros., please shop for a new home for Person of Interest too.
ReplyDeleteplot twist: it's going to the CW. mid-season replacement to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. lol
ReplyDeleteHoping for cable.
ReplyDeletePass.
ReplyDeleteHasn't been cancelled yet.
ReplyDeletebut if it ends. It should be good, dont oyou think? the show has 6 seasons and it gonna have a propper ending, it's not that it's gonna come all of teh sudden-
ReplyDeleteNow if only they can find a new home for Constantine before the contracts are up in June.
ReplyDeleteSadly pretentious shows get easier new homes than genre shows :(
ReplyDeleteOhhh so glad for EM. He really seems to love it. I love him since his W&G days, he was brilliant in Perception as well.
ReplyDeleteHmmm my guess is cable but wouldn't be surprised if ABC takes it.
Just let it go man
ReplyDeleteGlad for this show, biggest mistake for pass IMO. I hope it got picked up by NBC, it would pair amazingly with The Voice.
ReplyDeleteThere is no need for that. If this 13-episode arc works, I could see that working for the show and CBS going forward. Because of the serialized nature, a straight-through run could work well. Plus, CBS will have a lot of real estate available after this season: MS, TGW, Elementary, H50 along with at least two new series (Code Black first) will be gone. Add in CM (contracts as always) and if the Cyber reboot fails and I easily see a place for POI going forward.
ReplyDeleteSure. Once June is over.
ReplyDeleteI would love it even better if it was brought to cable because there are certain content that is not allowed on broadcast TV, IMO.
ReplyDeletepossibly cable
ReplyDeleteSix seasons? Where did this extra season come from? :P :)
ReplyDeleteI sincerely hope it continues in a shortened format of 13 episodes but this is CBS we are talking about. Zero trust in how they will handle POI.
ReplyDeleteYeah a cable netowrk would be better and would allow them to stay true to the shows theme and go all out on it.
ReplyDeleteEM was hilarious as Will. He really gave the show a lot of soul, the whole crew did. The finale was really sad and quite unexpected but I'm glad they didn't sugar coat it. Their relationship was quite unhealthy.
i thought thsi was gonna it's 6 season xD
ReplyDeleteAhah
ReplyDelete99.9% sure it's cable.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but I would rather see POI gone than Elementary and I'm pretty sure it's gonna happen.
ReplyDeleteIf we are to believe social media, NBC very likely took it. Which was that plan all along.
ReplyDeleteI don't see CBS investing in a 13 episode series that they don't own. It would have to do very well (as in practically their best performer on schedule) for them to even consider it. This is very likely just a wrap up/farewell order.
ReplyDeleteI won't believe it til I see it from a more reputable source.
ReplyDeleteWarner Bros said they were shopping The Following around as well some other show and still no word lol
ReplyDeleteDo WB never learn?
ReplyDeleteClarification: I meant Season Zero in my previous comment, not SpoilerTV. You guys are great :)
ReplyDeleteSummer show on the CW? :P
ReplyDeleteMaybe ABC?
Maybe Netflix or Hulu...?
I actually have no idea...
well a lot of the cast and the writer of the pilot have tweeted that we'll be able to see it eventually besides season zero and I don't think they would do that if a deal wasn't close to being completed.
ReplyDeletemy guess is a cable network or a streaming service. I don't see it going to another broadcast network.
ReplyDeleteCable is probably a better fit for it anyway....

ReplyDeleteI agree, all broadcast networks already passed on Studio City when asked (once talks with FOX hit a snag) and there is nothing that would convince them to reconsider. The fact that it is still "finalizing", clearly indicates a streaming or cable network.
ReplyDeleteGreat! Now do the same for Person of Interest!
ReplyDeleteNot officially but it's clearly getting "The Mentalist" treatment.
ReplyDeleteWB still can't shop around an uncancelled show.
