As you know each year we try to see how good your prediction skills are in determining which shows will be renewed and which ones will be cancelled.
You can see how we did last season here.
So we're going to be running a series of polls asking you what your predictions are for next season. The remaining networks' polls will be posted during the course of the next week or so.
Existing poll threads:
ABC
Today it's the CBS shows. You can find promos, clips and photos for most of the shows via the CBS Menu at the top of the site.
We have a poll for each of the shows airing on CBS this season. For each show you can choose whether it will be renewed or cancelled.
So vote below and let us know in the comments which shows you hope will be renewed, and which ones you think will be cancelled.
NOTE: All of these polls will remain open until the beginning of August so you have quite a bit of time to get your predictions in.

ReplyDeleteRenewed: Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, Mike and Molly, Mom, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion, Two Broke Girls
Cancelled: CSI: Cyber, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Person of Interest (though I'd happily be wrong), The Good Wife, The Odd Couple
New:
Renewed: Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, Supergirl
Cancelled: Angel From Hell, Code Black, Life in Pieces, Limitless, Rush Hour
God, this is fun (LOL oops). There are some obvious renewals and some obvious cancellations here. I'm surprised H50 survived this year but it probably won't next.
ReplyDeleteExisting shows cancelled : The Good Wife, CSI : Cyber, Elementary, The Odd Couple.
ReplyDeleteNew shows cancelled : Almost everything except Supergirl and Limitless ?
No faith in the new shows it looks like, only Supergirl is being predicted to be renewed.
ReplyDeleteI must say I'm surprised at people thinking Elementary will be cancelled. Despite ratings show makes alot of money.
ReplyDeleteIt's with a heavy heart and a lump in my throat that I voted against Person of Interest's renewal. But who knows - maybe Netflix or another network will come to the rescue.
ReplyDeleteCBS has a syndication deal with WGNA already for 3 mils per episodes and if Elementary is profitable for CBS then it will be renewed, if not, then it will be cancelled. Though I think 3 mill per episode should be more than enough to cover any losses for CBS for airing such a low rated show.
ReplyDeleteSame here :(
ReplyDeleteI don't think some people are aware at the syndication deal it has, I think it will last at least 2 more seasons if not more.
ReplyDeleteI hope they'll announce this season as being The Good Wife's last soon enough.
ReplyDeleteI cancelled all the returning shows till M&M. And a bunch in between.
ReplyDeleteI think CBS has a lot of remodeling to do. They are quite afraid of it but it seems like they want to.
I think Code Black and Rush hour will work. They just need to promote them well. Especially CB which was for me personally pretty moving, but others felt it being depressing and I can get that.
Rush Hour needs to premier Mondays at 10. It would work really well with Scorpion.
Renewed (Current shows): All the NCIS shows, Criminal Minds and its spin-off and even if its so badly rated CSI: Cyber because they need a CSI show drag into syndication. Blue Bloods, Madam Secretary, Mom, Scorpion, 2 Broke Girls,
ReplyDeleteRenewed (New shows): Supergirl, Limitless, Rush Hour
Cancelled (or having a final season announced): Good Wife, POI, H-50, Mike and Molly (I just think Melissa may want to stop doing it), The Odd Couple,
Cancelled (new shows): Angel From Hell, Code Black, Life in Pieces
Oh man, it breaks my heart but I voted against Person of interest. Just hope it gets a proper ending.
ReplyDeleteRenewels:
ReplyDeleteObvious ones: NCIS, NCIS: LA, NCIS: NO, Mom,CM, BB (seems to get renewed each year)
Mike and Molly: CBS uses it to plug holes and it manages to get good ratings without much promotion. Will be renewed next season, too.
2BG: Ratings were slightly low this year so it got held back for midseason. No idea where CBS plans on scheduling it, but will still get renewed.
Limitless. Would have been happier if CBS put it at 9 as it appear younger skewing, but I think it will get decent ratings to get renewed, Who knows, it might even get the post-Suberbowl slot.
Supergirl: Unless something goes horribly wrong, I don't see why it won't be renewed.
Scorpion: Same as Supergirl.
Life in Piece: The show has a huge cast consisting of well known actors. CBS seems to have faith in it as it gave it the post TBBT slot, and they don't even own it. I see it getting renewed.
Elementary: Yes it will have enough episode to air in sydnication after season 4, but at 3 millions an episode, I think that should be enough to cover any losses CBS may encounter by keeping this dud on the air beyond season 4
Cancellations:CSI: Cyber on Sundays will probably get lower ratings that CSI. Even CBS won't be able to justify renewing it.
The Odd Couple: was renewed for syndication, then CBS would have premiered it in the fall. But that wasn't the case. CBS only has 2 comedy hours left, and even if both new comedies flop, then they still have 3 comedies in the waiting 2 of which (Mike and Molly and 2BG), as far as I know. have full seasons. No idea where CBS will schedule them. But don't think TOC will be renewed next year.
CMBB: I think this show wil got the same way as CMSB. Also CBS doesn't own it so they will be less lenient compared to Cyber
Person of Interest: 13 episodes, unscheduled. CBS will likely announce it as final season when the schedule it, like they did with TM.
The Good Wife: People keep saying that the writers always had 7 seasons in mind, so this might be the list. And then there is the number of words in the episode titles people keep talking about
Rush Hour: Another (meant to be) comedic buddy-cop show like Battle Creek. Will go the same route.
Angel from Hell: Seems DOA to me. Will last a few episodes and will probably be pulled to air one of the 3 comedies CBS has held back.
Madam Secretary: CBS renewed it because "rich people" watch it but the spring ratings were down right atrocious and review for the show are mixed, so makes no sense to renew it. Just put TAR back on Sundays and Elementary at Friday 8PM in the 2016/17 season.
H50: Lucky to get renewed this season, but won't be as lucky next summer.
Code Black: I don;t see it very compatible with CM and I think it won't get enough ratings to get renewed.
I have CSI: Cyber, The Good Wife, Person Of Interest, and Hawaii 5-0 ending next year. Because of that, Elementary will probably get one more season, but moved to Fridays at 9 PM, replacing Hawaii 5-0.
ReplyDeleteNew shows most likely to be renewed: Limitless, Criminal Minds: Behind Borders (to continue the Criminal Minds franchise).
New show most likely to be cancelled: Code Black.

Returning shows
ReplyDelete-Blue Bloods: Does this have a syndication deal already? Even if not, it will soon get one. Renewed
-Criminal Minds: Renewed
-CSI: Cyber: Why did CBS renew this show in the first place to subsequently send it to the Sunday 10 pm death slot? I will be shocked if it gets higher than 1.4s. Ted Danson can't save this. Cancelled
-Elementary: Its ratings are awful, but the syndication deal will save it. Renewed
-Hawaii Five-0: It survived this year, but I think next season will be its last. Cancelled
-Madam Secretary: Its ratings will very likely recover from the disastrous spring ratings with football lead-ins. Everyone thinks this will get The Millers treatment, but I'm fairly positive it won't. It will get to syndication. Renewed
-Mike and Molly: It all depends if Melissa McCarthy wants to continue this show with her growing film career. I am not sure if she has a 6-year or 7-year contract, but either way, negotiations will be tough. It's also not owned by CBS, so it really could go either way. In the end, I say renewed.
-Mom: Renewed
-NCIS: Renewed
-NCIS: Los Angeles: Renewed
-NCIS: New Orleans: Renewed
-Person of Interest: Unscheduled mid-season treatment. Cancelled
-Scorpion: Renewed
-The Good Wife: I think this will be its final season as the creators want it to be. Cancelled
-The Odd Couple: Could this be the next Rules of Engagement? I am not sure if CBS needs so many mid-season replacements when they already have M&M and 2BG. I think it mostly depends on the time slot, but there is not a lot of room for it. Cancelled
-Two Broke Girls: I think this will survive even though it's scheduled for mid-season. Renewed
New shows
-Angel from Hell: This can't go much higher than The McCarthys. Cancelled
-Code Black: This won't do any better than Stalker and is very incompatible with Criminal Minds. However, its competitors are Chicago PD and Nashville, and it seem to me there wouldn't be much of an overlap. I'm still predicting Code Black will be cancelled though.
-Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders: It's mid-season on CBS, so my gut feeling says cancelled. It's now owned by CBS either and the previous CM spin-off failed as well. However, if it's scheduled after its parent show, I think it might have a shot at renewal. I am going for renewed.
-Life in Pieces: It does have the post-TBBT slot but that isn't always saying much (see: The Millers). With TBBT's decline, I am not sure if Life in Pieces has what it takes to survive. Still, I'm leaning towards a renewal.
-Limitless: I am no fan of the time slot and the battle vs Quantico. I think it will get a full season, but a renewal could go either way. I say renewed.
-Rush Hour: This is Battle Creek all over again. Cancelled
-Supergirl: Renewed
Blue Bloods is syndicated on WGN America, Ion TV, and local affiliates.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad H50 was renewed. I would like another season so I voted renew for final season
ReplyDeleteRenewed: Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, CSI: Cyber, Madam Secretary, Mike & Molly, Mom, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion, Two Broke Girls
ReplyDeleteCancelled: Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, Person of Interest, The Good Wife, The Odd Couple
Renewed: Angel From Hell, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, Supergirl
Cancelled: Code Black, Life in Pieces, Limitless, Rush Hour
As of now 31 people voted NCIS Cancelled.
ReplyDelete:o you think TGW will get a 8 season? or by final you meant the next one?
ReplyDeleteRight! Anyway, I feel pretty positive it will return for a sixth season.
ReplyDeleteI also predict 4/7: Supergirl, Limitless, Life in Pieces and CM: BB. I predicted CM renewed because I suspect it will get Code Black's time slot when that fails and is cancelled.
ReplyDeleteBesides that, I agree with your predictions except for Elementary and Madam Secretary.
31 people? Wow.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who thinks a NCIS, a Shonda show, or anything with Chicago in the title is getting cancelled this year is living in a completely fantasy land.
I mean it will get a shorter final season 8.
ReplyDelete5-0 and Elementary will not be cancelled........just get rid of CSIL Cyber and wrapped up The good wife and POI you get 3 new spots
ReplyDeleteMy picks.
ReplyDeleteRenewed: Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, Elementary (scheduling says they'll keep it), Hawaii Five-O (not so sure, but the tons of duds will make it happen) Mike and Molly, Mom, all NCIS shows, Two Broke Girls, Beyond Borders, Supergirl, Scorpion
Canceled: Madam Secretary, The Good Wife (final season), The Odd Couple, Limitless, Code Black, Angel from Hell, Life and Pieces, Rush Hour
I picked Madam Secretary to be canceled, but seeing three dramas ending CBS is still going to syndicate it despite fractional ratings.
ReplyDeleteI find their class kinda good but killed by schedule, I even doubt Supergirl, so I went with the safe pick (the Criminal Minds spin-off), since Limitless was scheduled with the old skewing NCISs and Code Black looks meh.
ReplyDeleteAs far as New Goes

You think Cyber will be renewed because of international sales? It surely won't be because of the ratings, seeing as it is placed in a CBS death slot.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the rest of your predictions except Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, H50 and Life in Pieces.
- Regarding Cyber, I believe that if international sales/ syndication potential/ aggregated sales with the mothership / whatever back-end deal CBS managed was enough to make it last past this season with the horrible numbers it got, it will be too next year even if I fully expect a fractional average.
ReplyDelete- Regarding Beyond Borders, I think Criminal Minds has weaken a lot this year and I think next year it will only get worse with Empire permanently stranded at 9 pm up against it. And as a general rule, I tend to believe that launching spin-offs from shows that are experiencing a declining trend instead of an upwards one (read Cyber, OUAT in Wonderland) tends to yield bad results. I could easily be wrong and not be surprises though, this is obviously just straight up guessing!
- Life in Pieces and H50 are pure tossups for me, so I really don't know, I just voted for the sake of voting but I really can't tell. H50 will depend entirely on whether or not the syndication deal still has TNT on the hook for Season 7 or not. If it does, the show will be renewed. If it doesn't, it will be cancelled. Life in Pieces is hard to say because I really don't know how the Big Bang audience will embrace a single cam Modern-Family look alike. The Monday-Thursday jerkaround is also less than ideal, but it could go either way really.
Don't really follow CBS much, I'm expecting Scorpion to be a certain renewal though so I'm good :)
ReplyDeleteThe only CBS show i love is Person of Interest and it's going to cancelled so f*ck them!
ReplyDeleteIs there a trailer for the Rush Hour show?
