ABC FAMILY HAS ADDED MATTHEW DADDARIO AND ISAIAH MUSTAFA TO THE SAGA SERIES “SHADOWHUNTERS”
Daddario and Mustafa Joins Previously Announced Katherine McNamara as ‘Clary Fray,’ Dominic Sherwood as ‘Jace Wayland,’ Alberto Rosende as ‘Simon’ and Emeraude Toubia as ‘Isabelle Lightwood’
Burbank, CA (May 8, 2015) – ABC Family continues to add to the “Shadowhunters” crew with the casting of Matthew Daddario (“Delivery Man”) as ‘Alec Lightwood’ and Isaiah Mustafa (“Horrible Bosses”) as ‘Luke Garroway.’ It was announced today by the network.
Based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, “Shadowhunters” follows 18-year-old Clary Fray, who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters – human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother Jocelyn is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace and her best friend, Simon. Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold.
Alec Lightwood joins Jace and his sister, Isabelle, in their pursuit of demonic creatures. He’s tortured by his romantic love for Jace, who is his adoptive brother and fighting partner. The eldest of the group, his strict moral code forces him to follow the law to the letter.
Luke Garroway is an NYPD detective investigating a string of “demonic” murders. Luke feels a fatherly instinct to protect Clary, a strong affection for Jocelyn and has secrets of his own. Once a strong and powerful Shadowhunter, he has since become the thing he once hated most – a werewolf pack leader.
“Shadowhunters” is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Ed Decter and McG. McG will also direct the first episode. The network has previously announced Katherine McNamara as ‘Clary Fray,’ Dominic Sherwood for the role of ‘Jace Wayland,’ Alberto Rosende as ‘Simon’ and Emeraude Toubia as ‘Isabelle Lightwood.’

Who? Who? Huh.
ReplyDeleteThat Matthew Daddario guy is HOT, much hotter than the Alec in the movie. I approve! lol
ReplyDeleteHells yeah for Isaiah.
ReplyDeleteYes he is lol. All the guys are hot. They're even hotter than the movie cast.
ReplyDeleteI agree that they're much hotter than all the movie cast, but they're a bunch of unknowns, I hope they can act.
ReplyDeleteAnd I only care that they cast a very hot guy as Magnus.
Yeah hopefully they can act. I'm good as long as they aren't cringeworthy in their performances. And yes Magnus needs to be hot. Any idea who should play him???
ReplyDeleteNot sure about Luke, but ok with everyone else.
ReplyDeleteLuke? WTH. One thing is having a diversity cast and otehr is just oing it to have somethign to talk about. Not happy about that cast.
ReplyDeleteAlec is ok. I see him in the part.
The Old spice guy? LOL
ReplyDeleteAlexandra Daddario's brother.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteI gathered... and I looked him up to be certain.
I was mostly reflecting on how CW will usually grab actors from previous CW shows. This time around it seems like they mostly went with "unknowns" with pretty faces - experience or talent be damned. Sadly, it's why I find many CW shows unwatchable.
Who knows maybe they will hit the jackpot and all the actors will be great....
That 'splains it then! XD
ReplyDeleteMy bad.
no biggity ;)
ReplyDeleteMagnus from the movie was not bad at all.
ReplyDeleteHe was just a friend of Jocelyn's right? It's not like he has family in the story who've been cast as another race so I don't see the big deal, there are too many white characters in the book anyway, and I say that as a white guy.
ReplyDeleteTrue, which is why Cassandra Clare gave permission for them to cast actors who aren't white for characters who are white in the book.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't really matter which colour Luke's skin has :). As long as he acts like Luke (who for some reason is a NYPD detective in the show, which is a whole other discussion).
No idea tbh, I liked the Magnus from the movie but I don't know. I just want him to be hot because Magnus is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteYeah I like magnus too I'm sure they'll get someone hot since all the guys have been hot so far lol.
