Shadowhunters: Alberto Rosende and Emeraude Toubia Join the Cast of ABC Family’s “Shadowhunters”

ABC FAMILY HAS ADDED ALBERTO ROSENDE AND EMERAUDE TOUBIA TO THEIR DEMON HUNTING TEAM FOR THE SAGA SERIES “SHADOWHUNTERS”

Rosende and Toubia Joins Previously Announced Dominic Sherwood as ‘Jace Wayland’

Burbank, CA (May 1, 2015) – ABC Family continues to add to the “Shadowhunters” crew with the casting of Alberto Rosende as ‘Simon’ and Emeraude Toubia as “Isabelle Lightwood.” It was announced today by the network. #SimonandIsabelle

Based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, “Shadowhunters” follows 18-year-old Clary Fray, who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters – human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother Jocelyn is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace and her best friend, Simon. Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold.

Intelligent, very handsome in a non-calculated kind of way, Simon is Clary Fray’s long-time best friend. He’s the first to find humor in any situation. An accounting student by day, Simon spends his free time performing in a band. His loyalty and feelings for Clary are tested as he fights alongside her on an epic journey.

Isabelle is an exotic-looking, model-beautiful Shadowhunter. An expert with her whip, she’s as lethal as she is attractive. A trained fighter who can kick-ass in high-heels, Isabelle’s one weakness is her choice in men – always going for the bad boy.

“Shadowhunters” is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Ed Decter and McG. McG will also direct the first episode. Dominic Sherwood (“Vampire Academy”) was previously announced for the role of ‘Jace.’

    Kinda.

The author has planned 5 book series in the world, not counting short stories and companion books.

The first 2 series (The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices) are both complete. The next series (The Dark Artifices) is set to begin next year. This TV show is based primarily on the first series, The Mortal Instruments which is complete.

  7. Does anyone know if Clary and Jace have been cast already?

  8. Is it good? I hate series where the final chapter just ruin the whole journey. I'm the kind of person for whom the destination is just as important as having an enjoyable journey.

  9. Jace is Dominic Sheriforgothislastname and Clary ahsnt been cast yet, the alatest news were that they were doing some test with the guy playing Jace and some of the girls that are auditioning for Clary.

  11. Thanks very much. Are those other series based on other characters?

  12. So is this show CGI heavy? or will it have a lot of actions scenes?

  13. Er. Ummm it was good but the finale messed things up for one of the main character and have a follow book with short stories.

They're set in different time periods and follow different sets of characters. Normally related somehow in the family tree.

The Mortal Instruments is set in 2007 and 2008.

The Infernal Devices is set in the Victorian London (so the 1800's roughly) and follows the ancestors of the characters from The Mortal Instruments.

The Dark Artifices is meant to be set roughly in 2013.

  19. Thanks! Alex Pettyfer will always be who I picture as Jace in my mind, but that guy with blonder hair could work, fisically at least, we'll have to wait and see if he actually works on screen. I'm still hoping they cast a real redhead as Clary ;-)

  20. I didn't know about The Last Hour, but I loved The Infernal Devices so I'm definitely checking that one out when it comes out. I'm most likely skipping TDA and TWP, though.

  21. i want a dark red hair Clary like in the movies D:

  22. Ohhh okay liking the casting so far. They better pick good alec and magnus.

  23. As long as is a real redhead with freckels and all, I don't mind. I just don't want another fake looking redhead. People think that all you need to do is a dye the hair red/cooper and that's it, but it's not. Redheads have a very particular complection, so it's not that simple. Lol, I'm being nitpicky.

  24. Wow she's a very prolific author I must say. Quite interesting :) Too bad I really don't have much time to read for pleasure nowadays.

  25. Not sure on this one, abc family syfy or supernatural tend to flop hard. Also, the film was crap. But I will check it out.

  26. Don't know either of them, so no opinion as of now...

  27. I've been reading the books ever since the first one was just released and I really liked the final book.

It gave closure but still kept some (very minor) storylines open for the new series.

  28. Dominic Sherwood.
