Ratings Breakdown:
CBS scored an easy Tuesday overnight victory, besting No. 2 ABC by a considerable 71 percent. And top-rated for the evening, as always, was powerhouse “NCIS” on the eye net at a 9.2 rating/15 share in households at 8 p.m. That led into dominant overnights for spin-off “NCIS: New Orleans” (8.5/13) and the season-finale of “Person of Interest” (5.2/ 9) from 9-11 p.m. But competing “Chicago Fire” (#2: 4.6/ 8) is expected to win the 10 p.m. hour among adults 18-49 (and “Person of Interest” is unlikely to remain on Tuesday if it returns next season).
ABC got a boost in the 8 p.m. hour care of the one-hour live “Dancing With the Stars” Results Show, which finished second with a 7.5/12 in the overnights. And that led into demo friendly “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” at a distant second-place 3.2/ 5 from 9-10 p.m., followed by the season (or series) finale of “Forever” at a 2.9/ 5 at 10 p.m. With “Secrets & Lies” the more likely freshman drama candidate to return on ABC next season, odds of a second season of “Forever” are 50-50 at best.
On NBC, the live one-hour episode of sitcom “Undateable” did not impress at a third-place 2.8/ 5 from 9-10 p.m., which is likely to only average about a 1.2-1.3 rating in adults 18-49. Comparably, overnight retention for “Undateable” out of the 8:30 p.m. portion of “The Voice” (6.2/10) was only 45 percent. But, with NBC in dire need of new hit comedies, expect the network to exhibit patience by ordering a third season on “Undateable.”
Overall, “The Voice” was on the overnight map with a 6.1/10 from 8-9 p.m., which trailed competing “Dancing With the Stars” on ABC by 19 percent (but will hold a solid advantage in the key demos).
In season-finale news, Fox’s tired “New Girl” concluded season three with a modest 1.6/ 2 (#4) in the 9 p.m. half-hour. And that led into a mere 1.0/ 2 (#5) in what has to be the series-finale of freshman sitcom dud “Weird Loners” at 9:30 p.m. “Hell’s Kitchen” opened the night for Fox with a now typically unimpressive 2.5/ 4 (#5) from 8-9 p.m.
The CW capped off the night with freshman success “The Flash” at a fourth-place 2.7/ 5 from 8-9 p.m. And recent entry “iZombie” followed with a 1.2/ 2 from 9-10 p.m., which was flat from one week earlier (and that translated into a 0.7/ 2 in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data).

I dig this iZombie flatness. ^_^.
ReplyDeleteHopong for Flash and iZombie to keep ladt weeks demo.
DWTS Result show looks up for ABC
ReplyDeleteThe time of season finales has started. I will miss all the shows until they return in the fall....
ReplyDeleteAlso, upfronts are in just one week and i am so excited!
Could you list whag was promoted again during ABC :)
ReplyDeleteI guess it's not a good result for PoI final season
ReplyDeleteI hope NCIS will rise after an amazing episode!
ReplyDeleteI think except for FOX , the rest did great.
ReplyDeleteDuring DWTS: Wednesday Comedies/Nashville/Extreme Weight Loss/Shark Tank &BTT/500 Questions/Astronaut Wives Club/The Bachelorette/AOS
ReplyDeleteDuring AOS: Wednesday Comedies/The Whispers/500 Questions/Billboard Music Awards/Shark Tank&BTT/ OUAT/ Forever/TGIT
During Forever: Astronaut Wive Club/500 Questions/ The Whispers/Scandal/American Crime/Nashville/Billboard Music Awards
I hope AOS did well.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you doing this! Thx a lot :)
ReplyDeleteno problem-they might promote revenge during nashville tonight
ReplyDeleteSHIELD looks stable enough. Renewal Announcements come in today, right?
ReplyDeleteIt's down in HH ratings by two tenths sadly.
ReplyDeleteYeah we shall see. Or tomorrow during TGIT. As you said though, it Has enough buzz on the Internet. YouTube views are really really high
ReplyDeleteOn friday Unfortunately
ReplyDeleteI think tomorrow but it should be soon
ReplyDeletewell not that long now ☺.
ReplyDeleteWow... I'm stunned that Undateable Live did as poorly as Berman is projecting. Especially with the huge amount of promotion and guest roster. I also disagree at the 1.2/1/3 level, I do not see NBC motivated to retain it with the great number of comedy pilot prospects they are considering.
ReplyDeleteNCIS is down again in HH, I hate this. DWTS really impacts its ratings.
ReplyDeleteI think since DWTS skews old it takes away from it
ReplyDeleteTrue :) I have nth to worry about anymore anyway. Monday will be a very sad day for me though
ReplyDeleteI think DWTS result show is likely to return to Tuesdays next fall.
ReplyDeleteThey should start coming in today judging by last year.
ReplyDeleteYes I just saw it. 9.4/15 to 9.2/15 right? But I don't know, will this reflect in the real ratings?
ReplyDeleteDoubtful.
ReplyDeleteOnly a few days to upfronts. are you guys as excited as i am? i have off next thursday and friday due to a german holiday and will enjoy the season finales and trailers of New shows. Do they come our next week too?
ReplyDeleteLast week it also had DWTS and while the episode dropped in about a million viewers from the episode before that, the demo remained stable. Let's hope that happens again this week.
ReplyDeletei always look forward to the upfronts seeing which of my shows have made it..i wish they would start today.
ReplyDeleteFrom today till Friday. All over the place.
ReplyDeleteABC has logic in what they do. They promote The Whispers during the male skewing Shield and Astronaut Wives Club during the female and old skewing DWTS and Forever. Same for Nashville, Billboard Awards, etc. Nice to see they have logic in there.
ReplyDeleteSo excited
ReplyDeletenew trailers don't come til next week on the networks upfront day. ABC will likely release at 12 on Tuesday
ReplyDeleteMost of them should yes.
ReplyDeleteGreat!
ReplyDeleteThat is great!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNot sure until they come out in about two hours. However, a big rise in audience seems unlikely.
ReplyDeleteSame here. I have been looking forward since Monday with the refresh function! lol
ReplyDeleteMe too haha...i also go on seriable.com to check whats going on in tv land.
ReplyDeleteAt this point, Undateable's renewal is expected. TVMediaInsights is just pointing out the obvious. NC won't go with all brand new comedies in their lineup.
ReplyDeleteAha, I see, thank you. Well, at this point I'm just hoping for above 15 million ;(.
ReplyDeleteYep. Should be really entertaining.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is today NBC will announce the rest of its plans. As they were the first to get started. FOX announcing its pick-ups would also be a good bet as they leaked the staffing already.
ReplyDeleteFOX will probably begin today because they are staffing shows. NBC and ABC likely Friday and CBS over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteCancel Undateable.
ReplyDeleteEnough with pity renewals, NBC.
I hope so but I doubt it... They've done without it for too long already... It's a good filler though
ReplyDeleteI think ABC came in on Thursday last year so hoping they do the same this year
ReplyDeleteI agree. NBC has a lot of promising new sitcoms in the works that they don't need Undateable. They have Coach, Cuckoo, Telenovela, Superstore and Strange Calls.
ReplyDeleteodds of a second season of “Forever” are 50-50 at best.
ReplyDeleteWho's he kidding?
At what time should we see the expected fox renewals?
ReplyDeleteI have been staying awake till 3 AM (GMT+5) waiting for something to happen, but nothing does.
ReplyDeleteUndateable like The Night Shift should stay in summer..
ReplyDeleteI think NBC will renew Undateable for midseason and if they have extraordinary success with their comedies, which they very likely won't, Undateable will air in the summer.
ReplyDeleteUndateable was sooooo good yesterday.
ReplyDeleteiZombie ❤
ReplyDeleteThey need to have a returning comedy. Starting next season with all new comedies is just plain sad and pathetic.
ReplyDeleteLmao. That's been dead for so long.
ReplyDeleteI vote for midseason filler.
ReplyDeleteThey don't need another failure n schedule.
ReplyDeleteBest episode of the show by a MILE!! So funny! I was smiling during the whole thing!
ReplyDeletePatiently waiting for the final POI ratings. That finale was all kinds of epic.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the machine was always one of my least favourite PF songs. Guess thats gonna change now. It was so amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt was beyond amazing.
ReplyDeleteI think Undatable will be renewed, AD cancelled.
ReplyDeleteIt sucks that they haven't even started to promote Revenge yet
ReplyDeleteI miss FOtB.
ReplyDeleteMe too but I'm glad it's not still on or it'd probably be hitting lows.
ReplyDeleteiZombie please be a preliminary 0.8 so, I'll have to worry less about adjusting down to 0.6
ReplyDelete0,7 for IZombie *---*
ReplyDeleteFlash 1.4, iZombie 0.7, forever 1.1
ReplyDeleteNCIS - 2.0
ReplyDeleteThe Voice - 1.9
Hell's Kitchen - 1.2
Dancing With The Stars - 1.4
The Flash - 1.4
NCIS: New Orleans - 1.6
Undateable - 1.4
New Girl - 1.1
Agents of SHIELD - 1.5
iZombie - 0.6
Undateable - 1.2
Weird Loners - 0.6
Person of Interest - 1.1
Chicago Fire - 1.0
Forever - 1.1
POI tied Forever?
ReplyDeleteWinners: NCIS, The Flash, iZombie, Chicago Fire
ReplyDeleteLosers: Forever, Person of Interest, New Girl, Weird Loners
OMG at POI! What the hell? After last week's extraordinary episode!!!
Is that just the top 25?
ReplyDeleteOMFG The Voice got a 1.9!
ReplyDeleteWhat the actual fck at POI
ReplyDeleteNo, A18-49 Ratings.
ReplyDeletei think izombie got 0.7
ReplyDeleteYikes The Voice.
ReplyDeleteYes.
ReplyDeleteOuch POI
ReplyDeleteYikes at POI its done the same as Forever with better leadin , Undateable actually looks good with 1.3 after a 1.9 .
ReplyDeleteWOW POI is LOW and so Is Fire, Forever ties for the 10pm lead RENEW IT NOW
ReplyDeleteI actually think Undateable did okay. It retained 70% of the voice's half hour rating and only fell 0.2 at the half hour. It is not a great performance by any means but meh, could be worse.
ReplyDeleteThese POI ratings are bad for my heart.
ReplyDeleteStill shocked and saddened with POI. What in the world
ReplyDeleteYES I7OMBIE <3
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that's an error in the rating numbers. Seems very low.
ReplyDeleteWtf?
ReplyDeletePoi :-(
ReplyDeleteThat *has* to be a typo for POI. Had arguably the best episode of the series last night.
ReplyDeleteTied with Forever too, horrible, CBS could cancel it if they didnt make decision until now.
ReplyDeleteHoping as well.
ReplyDeleteThey are really promoting the hell out of 500 questions
ReplyDeletePOI half hours seem to be 1.2/1.1 according to showbuzz
ReplyDeleteDamn POI on 1.1 it was an amazing season finale. Flash got 1.4 and iZombie 0.7 and shield 1.5
ReplyDeleteAll decisions have already been made.
ReplyDeleteI think it has to be. That's ridiculously low.
ReplyDeleteI'm really worried that iZombie might drop to a 0.6, really hoping it won't...
ReplyDeleteHopefully it adjusts up
ReplyDeleteOh noes iZombie might adjust down due to preemption
ReplyDeleteThe half hours are 1.2/1.1, so I don't think it is a typo.
ReplyDeleteNoooo.
ReplyDeleteYep it will be renewed
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest better adjust up.
ReplyDeleteWell, really hoping when RJK's numbers come out that it's higher than maybe 0.72, then I don't think it should adjust down, but who knows...
ReplyDeleteToo much to hope that they're typos too?
ReplyDeleteIt was stable across half hours, but I heard they've preempted the cw in chicago again so it is possible that the numbers change more than usual.
ReplyDeleteI think season 5 will be the final season.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, NCIS just beat the voice.
ReplyDeleteYou are just having a nightmare. I hope.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and this time they didn't air it later like at 11:00pm or anything, but they'll air it on Sunday 8pm
ReplyDelete0.7/0.7 half hours hope it doesnt.
ReplyDeleteI can see a revamp coming for The Voice
ReplyDeleteYikes at the Voice
ReplyDeleteI still don't believe the poi ratings.
ReplyDeleteThat's a series low :( either way, we're still getting a 5th Season!
ReplyDeleteJeez,NBC is in such a horrible state, they have to get used to low ratings.
ReplyDeleteAOS 1.6/1.4
ReplyDeleteChicago Fire 1.6/1.7
POI 1.2/1.1
Forever 1.1/1.0
Undateable 1.4/1.2
The Voice 1.8/2.0
Other programs didn't have any changes half-hour vs half-hour
1.1 for POI finale. Is that right? Those ratings seem unbelievable to me, and I don't even watch the show.
ReplyDeleteWow at Chicago Fire,impressive.
ReplyDeleteThat is a bizarre drop for Agents of Shield at the half hour. It will probably be going up in finals Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteProbably final, on Sundays.
ReplyDeleteABC should just keep DWTS once a week
ReplyDeleteNot sure why people freak out about CW preemptions. The networks knows about them and they are not held against the show.
ReplyDeleteAlso been plenty of cases where only the overall viewers go down and the demo stays
The ratings are just all kinds of bizarre today.
ReplyDeletePOI AT 1.1? THAT HAS TO BE A MISTAKE
ReplyDeleteIt better be wrong.
ReplyDeleteYay! :)
ReplyDeleteUndateable did pretty good.
ReplyDeleteIt improved he 9:30 hour compared to OBH.
This is the first sub 2s for The Voice, right?
ReplyDeleteI know. That's what I wanted anyway.
ReplyDeleteyea
ReplyDeletePOI deserves better numbers, amazing finale last night.
ReplyDeleteSo long as we get to have a proper ending, I'll be cool with that.
ReplyDeleteI know decisions have been made. I thought season 5 could be the final season anyway.
ReplyDeleteI think so, excluding clip shows.
ReplyDeleteI mean generaly even The Voice has gone sub 2s.
ReplyDeleteStill reeling from my disbelief of the awesomeness of the POI finale, I'm now in disbelief at these numbers. This is crazy.
ReplyDeleteLast Week POI got a 1.4 & 8.45m? This week it's hardly down in viewers, and yet gets a 1.1. What happened?
ReplyDeleteI'm still calling bs on the poi ratings. The Poi finale was beyond amazing.
ReplyDeletePlease
ReplyDeleteI think 6 seasons and its 6th will be a short one
ReplyDeleteI think it did okay-ish, could be worse, but I wouldn't use improving on OBH as a selling point, since it would be really hard not to!
ReplyDeleteA 3 tenths drop from last week is crazy. They cannot be right. They just can't.
ReplyDeleteThe week to week drop for POI is bizarre, especially with all the hype for the finale
ReplyDeleteThe ratings are not that low.
ReplyDeleteIt has to be a mistake. A series low on a season finale? It just can't be.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the younger audience tuned out whilst the older crowd tuned in.
ReplyDeleteVery strange.
I know. It can't be right.
ReplyDeleteThat is the plan, this is just for two weeks since they needed something to air here. But they should have gone with two Shark Tank specials instead IMO.
ReplyDeleteUndateable had 70% retention from The Voice.
ReplyDeleteCbs will have a lot of trouble if they renew CSI for a final season 6 episodes they could have POI,The Good Wife and Elementary also ending and Madam Secretary getting cancelled, CBS could lose 5 veterans next season. I am also sure H50 is certain to be renewed.
ReplyDeleteWTF??? A 1.1 for POI? *slinks away in a depressed mode*
ReplyDeleteit just for 2 weeks so I get it.
ReplyDeleteMy god, POI, what the hell happened. The lowest 18-34 rating of the night, tied with Weird Loners.
ReplyDeleteI'm still hoping it's a mistake. Poi will be renewed anyway. Decisions have already been made.
ReplyDeleteWell, NCIS didn't gain hardly any in demo and even lost in viewers from last week.
ReplyDeleteThat is very strange indeed, any chance there's been an error or something?
ReplyDeleteiZombie has managed to rise against preemptions when there was a Flash repeat. From a preliminary 0.65 to 0.67 lol.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Elementary will be ending before reaching 100 episodes at least. It is a syndication gold mine for CBS.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Marc Berman POI ratings are correct
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest - Last Weeks early numbers
ReplyDelete0.7 2.0 1.4 8.47
This week
0.5 1.8 1.1 8.21
That was exactly the same reaction I had when I saw PoI's rating.
ReplyDeleteIt does not make sense at all. How does a season finale go down 3 tenths from the previous week after getting 1.5's or above all season long a week after an episode coming off a preemption?
Like he should be trusted?

I agree with you but the situation of losing 4 veteran dramas next season is bad for CBS.
ReplyDeleteI don't recall him having wrong numbers.
ReplyDeleteyea but with 2 sites reporting the same number...it seems correct
ReplyDeleteHopefully this time he has wrong.
ReplyDeleteOnly if there has been an error in the press release that Nielsen send around or an actual error in the collection of the numbers.
ReplyDeleteSeems a little unlikely but it's not unknown.
Just wow. I can't believe it. I hope that at least adjusts up.
ReplyDeleteI'm just hoping. I still can't believe it.
ReplyDeleteMeh, most of them are dead weight just piling up episodes for syndication. If they renew one hour of new programming next year (Which shouldn't be too hard to accomplish unless they change their name to NBC), they would just need to launch 3 new hours as usual in fall 2017. Nothing big
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy. There has to be some sort of error. There has to be.
ReplyDeleteIt better adjust up.
ReplyDeleteThanks @Alex S
ReplyDeleteYes at NCIS beating The Voice and being the top program of the night! Even though it's in its twelfth season and a 2.0 is still a series low for the show, it managed to win the night (pending adjustments).
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for Person of Interest though! I have heard nothing but good things about the show.
They managed to make mistakes in the ratings for a while at the start of the season so I'm hoping that something similar has happened here.
ReplyDeleteCW – iZombie
ReplyDeleteViewers: 2.03 million (#5), A18-49: 1.7/ 2 (#5)
Eh, if only...
no problem I was hoping for good news for POI fans
ReplyDeleteIm glad aos is steady ☺.
ReplyDeleteMe too lol
ReplyDeleteA 1.2 doesn't look as bad, but it is still unbelievable. Everyone was hoping for 1.5-1.7s.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to pray for a .2 adjustment, so in that way it would just be a series low-tying.
I'm hoping there has been, the finale deserves much better than a 1.1.
ReplyDeleteThe show has had plenty of 1.3s and 1.4s this year - it hasn't, by no means, been getting 1.5s or above all season.
ReplyDeleteNwver wished Nielsen to have an error this hard before.
ReplyDeleteLet's calm down a bit in the ideas of the error. I hate this POI rating as much as everyone else, but just two episodes ago POI had a 1.25. If this adjusts up in finals, that is pretty much in line with it and not such a new series low by a wide margin. In addition, the show has had plenty of 1.3s and 1.4s this year - it hasn't, by no means, been getting 1.5s or above all season.
ReplyDeleteThis is not such a huge drop from where it previously had been, it is not inconceivable up to a point in which we need to claim it is an error. In my opinion.
So happy for Forever!!!! Well-deserved!!! I'll miss you:(
ReplyDeleteI expected AoS would rise tbh... The episode was awesome.
I think the main thing here is that it was a Finale. And typically, not always, finale increase :)
ReplyDelete#poigate #ratingsrevisionnow
ReplyDeleteRead the last part again. It has been getting 1.5's or above for every episode that has had an episode the week before (and by extension a repeat before as well until today).
ReplyDelete5/21/15 (Th.)8:00 PM
ReplyDeleteThe CW
iZombie Episode 10: Mr. Berseker (R)
Could it be The CW testing how iZombie would do in TVD slot with this recap?
Bye POI. Time to shop for a cable network. Downright shocking. NCIS - for the win? Wow. iZombie has been so consistent.
ReplyDeletePOI's lead-in NCIS: NO also decreased by 0.3 ratings.
ReplyDeleteI agree, and it is indeed very shocking, but I wouldn't say up to the point of calling for an error, imo. As depressing as this number is.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, to try and prevent me from being too depressed from the POI numbers, Flash did brilliantly again and SHIELD held, which is nice.
ReplyDeleteAlso NCIS beating The Voice? Woah.
Semi testing. There is no real competition.
ReplyDeleteIs it a recap or a repeat?
ReplyDeleteTotally. Netflix sounds about right, and there's already a syndication deal with them in place. Given how the standalone stuff will be somewhat gone for atleast the forseeable future, it works better.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me want to throw up that Chicago Fire got a 1.6 and POI only got a 1.1. There is no balance in the universe that can explain that travesty.
ReplyDelete
