Last Week's Final Adjusted Ratings
Early Ratings Analysis by Marc Berman (TVMediaInsights)
About the Daily Ratings
Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.

OUCH CBS! Good for Revenge even though it doesn't matter anymore :)
ReplyDeletesolid night for ABC
ReplyDeleteHopefully OUAT goes up for the finale
that 1.2 for revenge tied the blacklist for the week
ReplyDeleteGlad that Revenge rose even though I know that it was cancelled
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for revenge :) this is what it deserves! It really does. By the amount of comments, the highest amount in a while, I can tell sth big happened so i will see you all later after i have watched
ReplyDeleteLOL @ MS. The most unjustified CBS renewal that I can think of. Ridiculous that another show may lose a slot for this absolute failure.
ReplyDeleteI think that this is a good chance that it might go up to a 1.4 next week
ReplyDeleteNext week revenge needs to Hit a 1.5! I cannot wait to watch last night's episode. See you all later :)
ReplyDeleteOr even higher. See you later :)
ReplyDeleteI was hoping Madam Secretary would go up for its finale. Sadly it didn't. It doesn't deserve those low ratings.
ReplyDeleteSecrets and Lies equals its season high, good! Also a season high in audience I believe.
they could cancel it...
ReplyDeleteWinners: OUAT and S&L
ReplyDeleteHM: Family Guy, LMoE, The Simp
Losers: Everything on CBS and NBC
Good for S&L.
ReplyDeleteOuch for MS amd TGW.
i was thinking the same thing.
ReplyDeleteAnd half hours were 1.7/1.8
ReplyDeleteHopefully they do.
ReplyDeleteOuch TGW and Madam Secretary..
ReplyDeleteYes at S&L once again leading the night (if you break the tie with OUAT by viewers).
ReplyDeleteHow is American Odyssey still on the air?
Horrible night at CBS.
Not surprised though.
ReplyDeleteWinners (or Honorable Mentions?) : Once Upon a Time, Secrets and Lies, Family Guy
ReplyDeleteLosers: Madam Secretary, The Good Wife, Battle Creek, A.D., American Odyssey
I love both OUAT & Revenge but I wonder which will have more viewers next week !
ReplyDelete1.2 is really not something worth celebrating.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how American Odyssey is still on the air? Maybe NBC is just like @#$% it.
ReplyDeleteS&L probably won in unrounded numbers. OUAT did 1.6/1.7 and S&L did 1.7/1.8.
ReplyDeleteOUAT
ReplyDeleteLOL CBS
ReplyDeleteThey have already renewed it for season 2.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is it's going to be cancelled... They renewed it too soon...
ReplyDeleteThey could change their minds though.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't recovered from that episode. It was amazing. Mind blowing really. Go watch! All three of ABC Sunday shows were amazing last night, but Revenge was actually my favorite! It was classic Revenge. And stay away from the site until you do watch all three!
ReplyDelete1.7 is the new 2.7. At least on sunday.
ReplyDeleteThe episode was really amazing but yes, you need to stay away! And don't watch the series finale promo either as you will be spoiled automatically for what happened last night!!
ReplyDeleteWithout any doubt,
ReplyDeleteI was hoping that S&L would rise for the finale. But being even at 1.7 is still pretty good. Renewal is guaranteed and if ABC follows tradition, we should be hearing about it late Thursday night (US)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am saying this again, but why has American Odyssey not been pulled yet?
It's crazy the standards ABC has managed to withhold for its scripted slate, they really had a great year.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that next week is going to be BIG for Revenge. When it was cancelled Wednesday, I went to Twitter, and sure enough it was trending. Anyway, I read a lot of the tweets, and I mean a lot of people said they dropped it, but would watch the last episode to see how it finally ends!
ReplyDeleteNBC is insane.
ReplyDeleteMaybe NBC forgot it was still on LOL?
ReplyDeleteNBC is managed by monkeys, in my humble opinion.
ReplyDeleteThat's actually pretty true.
ReplyDeletethey'll probably change their mind... Reweing a brand new show whose ratings are very low at the end of the season is totally crazy... It's not like it's an old show they want to end properly..
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the Simpsons? And B99 doesn't deserve a spot on the fall schedule, even though it will get one.
ReplyDeleteOr desperate.
ReplyDeleteMadam Secretary's pilot was so boring, I don't know how people can watch it.
ReplyDeleteI really can't see CBS un-renewing a show they renewed in January.
ReplyDelete25 years happened to The Simpsons.
ReplyDeleteand how CBS could have renewed it so soon x)
ReplyDeleteit actually gets better with the episodes. it's not my type of show in the first place but now I can't stop watching it
ReplyDeleteIts a very serious show fits perfect for older crowd
ReplyDeleteHopefully CBS decides to reverse its renewal and end it.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think CBS will do with Madam Secretary next season? The Millers treatment? Or cancel after season 2? Or renew for two more seasons? I think if it isn't moved it will have football lead-ins in the fall so it will recover from this spring's horrible numbers.
ReplyDeleteRevenge fans, what would you rather have as a leadin to the finale (I'd sumbit this as a USD poll but mine never get picked lol):
ReplyDelete-OUAT finale
-Revenge pilot
-last night's episode
-recap episode
-other
Neither can I, but things happen haha.
ReplyDeleteOld people sleeps in front of the tv.
ReplyDeleteWhy not? It's on par with the rest of the line up give or take a couple tents. It hit 2's in fall didn't it??? I know it had football as a lead in, but I feel like it'll get a fall slot for sure.
ReplyDelete(I do not watch Fox Sunday's, so this is completely unbiased lol)
I would agree with you if it wasn't in the 3s and 4s just this fall. Can't believe how leadin dependent it is,
ReplyDeleteSadly Once and S&L didn't do better. But still topped the night demo wise. #thumbsUp
ReplyDeleteOhhh Revenge rose with the cancellation news. #brokenHearted
OUAT finale
ReplyDeletefor best possible ratings OUAT
ReplyDeleteOUAT finale is two hours long.
ReplyDeleteIt had football lead-in.
ReplyDeleteI know
ReplyDeleteUnrenew MS!
ReplyDeleteSecrets and Lies did well and ABC made a mistake canceling Revenge (nope). FOX 8 pm assures are low.
LOL NBC and LOL CBS.
i agree. MS deserves to be cancelled.
ReplyDeleteThat's your opinion.
ReplyDeleteIt deserves it more than botrdertown
ReplyDeleteGet rid of MS and GW, bring back CSI for 6-13 episodes
ReplyDeleteI think they should switch TAR & MS slots, and see how MS does opening Friday nights. If it's on par or a bit up from Sunday, then there you go improvement. :) We all know TAR can do well on Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is a lot of people said that they dropped in season 2 and would still return after 2 years of not watching to see how it ends.
ReplyDeleteThe Good Wife deserves to be cancelled to, but it won't be.
ReplyDeleteGW will get their final season. CSI is a goner.
ReplyDeleteNext season will be the final season anyway.
ReplyDeleteIdk why everyone thinks its so safe, awards won't save it.
ReplyDeleteAgree with omabin. Just watched this morning,
ReplyDeleteAny rise is worth celebrating for despite the fact that it was cancelled
ReplyDeleteABC half hours: 1.6/1.7/1.7/1/8/1.3/1.1
ReplyDeleteI am of two minds about it.
ReplyDelete- On the one hand, I don't buy that the spring collapse was some big upset that they didn't foresee back in the fall. The show is underachieving for sure, but it's not as if the fall ratings would lead us to expect something that different in the spring, where viewing levels are drastically lower and lead-in is significantly reduced either. I would say that the fall levels would hit at 1.3 or so performer in the spring, and nothing more than that. So I think that if CBS renewed it expecting that, it must be that they have other reasons behind the renewal, probably close to the ones that have managed to keep The Good Wife alive for so long (upscale demo? A25-54 sales? I have no clue, and none of this convinces me actually), which means they will be happy to continue doing this next year.
- On the other hand... The Millers showed me that CBS is dumb. The ratings it did on Monday this year that led to its cancellation are the ratings that everyone was expecting it to have. The show was hitting sub 2.0 levels already last year behind a huge Big Bang Theory for god sakes, so obviously that was always expected. The fact that they didn't expect it and had to act when a different outcome happened shows me that they are actually bad managers at understanding trends and lead-in/ viewing levels dynamics and all. So in that sense, it may be that they were stupid enough to believe that MS inflated ratings were for real and that the renewal only makes sense under those circumstances.
In reality, it's probably a combination of both. I think they will have it stay put or, at worse, slide to 9pm, but I am not sure I actually see it getting pulled in Season 2. I think the first point is still compelling enough to avoid that. But I have zero confidence in this.
Why bother with a show 23 episodes away from ending?
ReplyDeletePast decisions by CBS?
ReplyDeleteOUAT obviously, but its good that it will have OUAT as its lead in for its series finale
ReplyDeleteOUAT finale
ReplyDeleteBruce Jenner: The Interview
ReplyDeleteIt would actually break a 2.0
I quite like it!
ReplyDeleteWithout knowing the background, if I heard someone saying that a show "deserves a 1.2", I would take that in the negative sense.
ReplyDeleteCSI deserves it more :( I don't watch either show, but CSI low is 1.1 after 15 years, and it is a huge brand for CBS, and has been tremendous for them over the years, while TGW is hitting below 1.0 in 6th season, and yes it has some award recognition, but 0.9 is way too low for a renewal.
ReplyDeleteEpisodes 2-13 (Which aired before the renewal) got between a 1.9-1.4 if you check the ratings, so I can understand why they renewed it.
ReplyDeleteApparently they think about giving CSI a final season (like 6 episodes to close it properly). I wouldn't be surprised, this show made history maybe more than any of they other shows.
ReplyDeleteI don't buy that at all.
ReplyDeleteInteresting thoughts! We will know soon enough if it's moved when CBS announces it schedule next week.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the long rant :P
ReplyDeletePeople NEED to see the final showdown between Victoria and Amanda!!!
ReplyDeleteRemove that comment please. You are spoiling last night's episode to a lot of people in a huge way!
ReplyDeleteyeah and it made 1.6 and 10,5 millions on Tuesday after to reruns of NCIS. Cyber did 1.2 and 8 million.
ReplyDeleteCSI suffered from its bad timeslot, not the fact it's an old show... It deserves an end.
Ha no worries! I'd rather you give your honest thoughts with a lot of explanation (and historical data) than a short answer. It's why I apreciate your comments, you take a lot of factors into consideration.
ReplyDeleteI agree theres no doubt in my mind that a 1.2 is a bad rating.
ReplyDeleteyay stable OUAT. Good. Still in top demos. Too bad it's not in total viewers but still good for OUAT right? The share is good. Plus we got S5 so I am ok
ReplyDeleteThanks, that's kind of you ;)
ReplyDeleteAWW Revenge is Up. Im happy about it. Once steady and S&L tho i dont watch it it has renewal all over it.
ReplyDeleteit's still earning huge money worldwide (it's still one of the most watched shows in the world), far enough to give it a final season if they want...
ReplyDeleteThough that's not the case of The Good Wife, and CSI Cyber
I think it rose because it was cancelled; people are coming back to see how it ends
ReplyDeleteGood night for ABC, even though numbers are still not great they did well. NBC just is a mess. Nothing on FOX surprised me. CBS, wow have you fallen. The Amazing Race should have stayed on Sunday, and the definitely renewed MS too soon. The Good Wife will get last season despite terrible numbers
ReplyDeleteI dont think the final season has to be 22 episodes. 13 episodes should be sufficient for the writers to end the show.
ReplyDeleteIt also had its biggest lead-in in a long time (1.8 at the half hour). So I think it was a combo of the two. But in any case, I agree that ABC only lost by not announcing this as a final season from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteWhile the pilot felt like it took eternity, the show isn't that bad. Tea and the supporting cast are really good, and her and her husband's relationship is one of the best portrayals on TV right now of how to make married couple interesting, relatable and seem in love without ripping them apart.
ReplyDeleteThey really should put TAR back on Sundays next season.
ReplyDeleteWow Secret and Lies is doing amazing. Too bad it's the kind of story that can't go on for season with the same cast and that the plot has to change every season. Do you guys think it will get these ratings with a different cast and plot?
ReplyDeleteMadam Secretary is not even strong in 25-54. CBS should really reconsider...
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything you've said. And I also think the pilot is one of the worst episodes of the series.
ReplyDeleteI will LMAO if Cyber gets renewed.
ReplyDeleteYeah, me neither. How many times have we heard networks thinking about something but it never happens.
ReplyDeleteDepends on scheduling and on who the actors are I think.
ReplyDeletefrom the finale many of the cast could return and the story could continue.
ReplyDeleteS&L could adjust up. Well deserved. Nice! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThey definitely should and hopefully they are. MS should be cancelled.
ReplyDeleteI know, but on the bright side at least it likely won't be going out with ratings like a 0.9 to 1.1
ReplyDeleteSometimes it does though. See Private Practice final season, Parenthood final season.
ReplyDeletewhat would they put there?
ReplyDeleteRepeats of any of the Wolf shows regularly do better, even out of slot...
ReplyDeleteWell KaDee won't be returning if her show gets picked up.
ReplyDeleteRyan neither I believe.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched the finale so don't spoil it for me, but do you think it can go for 1 more season with this cast or like 3+ seasons?
ReplyDeleteHey, it's the most watched show of the night. That's something for CBS to brag about, lol
ReplyDeleteYou should stay away today. Amazingly, nobody has spoiled it yet here, but it is bound to happen.
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteNbc yes... I don't know if TBL will even survive for S4. That's sad because it was a hit... I still love it.
ReplyDeleteIt will make it.
ReplyDeleteRenewed for season 3 = automatic season 4. You should know that by now.
ReplyDeleteAre B99's ratings ok? I know it's already renewed for a 3rd season, but will it continue to get renewed in the future if its ratings are similar to today's?
ReplyDeleteit probably won't, the ratings are falling hard and it's destroyed by the critics... It was even down on Tuesday when they tried it there (where CSI did very good few months sooner). My guess is they'll give a final and shortened season for CSI and cancel Cyber.
ReplyDeleteI think if renewed a new story will probably be the main focus, but I think its possible to continue this story also
ReplyDeleteYesterday was a bad performance, but last week it did quite well. It's a bit inconsistent.
ReplyDeleteIt will be for season 4, at the least.
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm sure more people would have been watching if they knew this was the final season and ABC would have made more money that way. I really can't understand why they didn't announce it sooner. They had a chance at the TCA
ReplyDeleteI got it spoiled for me, posted on twitter that I was about to watch the finale and some dumb ass replied with the killer :(
ReplyDeleteI'm just hoping CBS saw the latest data for Cyber. I think CBS will cancel both of them.
ReplyDeleteThe circumstances of the airings of the two shows are nowhere near comparable. New Orleans (R) was much higher when CSI aired, the competition was much weaker and the viewing levels were much higher (Spring vs. Winter).
ReplyDeleteThis is not to say anything about the chances of both shows or who is stronger but it is absurd to use the Tuesday airings as reasons to justify one thing or the other.
Percetion didn't that why I will always HATE TNT.
ReplyDeleteYes because I think ABC can get an actor or actress of Ryan Philippe's caliber. Also if some viewers did not want to watch a series about the murder of a child, season 2 could be about a murder of an adult, a missing person, a kidnapping etc.
ReplyDeleteThat happened because it was nowhere near syndication.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they had decided it back then. It finished the fall season on an okay note, hitting 1.5 after OUAT and then 1.2 for the fall finale. That wasn't something they couldn't work with for a short final season filler. Then winter happened and it was curtains most likely. That's how I think it went anyways.
ReplyDeleteThat sucks!
ReplyDeleteI guess it depends on the relationship a network has with its show... CBS owes a lot to CSI Las Vegas. Nina Tassler already told this many times. She also said few months ago they'll never cancel CSI without telling the writers to prepare a real end. Believe me they care a lot for this show ! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I don't think they should do murder of a child again. I also don't think it is necessary to bring back Cornell. Just do a whole new thing.
ReplyDeleteYou are a PR victim.
ReplyDeleteI get that, but ABC TCAs were after Revenge pulled a 0.8. There was no comming back after that
ReplyDeleteExactly lol
ReplyDeleteDon't fall for the PR jedi!
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't apply to cable shows.
ReplyDeleteNooo, don't fall for it HAHA
ReplyDeleteWas it? I thought it was a couple of weeks before. Well, then I am at a loss.
ReplyDeleteJust out curiosity is Secrets & Lies an analogy series?
ReplyDeleteThat is the type of thing I'd do to some random person I don't know, lol
ReplyDeleteI guess ABC was hoping for a miraculous rise in the ratings with the arrival of Secrets & Lies. Thankfully, the writers saw the end coming and decided to do some closure with a "little" cliffhanger I guess a la Desperate Housewives
ReplyDeleteIt is supposed to, if it's coming back, only Juliette Lewis will be a part of the new season :)
ReplyDeletebit harsh and a quite sad
ReplyDeleteNobody knows how to answer that right now I think
ReplyDeleteBack then everyone was commenting about the 0.8 and how Revenge could not rally from that. There were plenty of complains towards Paul Lee for giving false hopes to both fans and writers of the show
ReplyDeleteWhy? That is horribly mean. Would you appreciate if it was done to you, Babar?
ReplyDeleteIt all depends on second season. But I have a feeling if they don't mess up, they might have stroke gold.
ReplyDeleteAnthology. Yes that is what the writers said at TCAs.
ReplyDeleteRight. TNT should have still kept that awesomeness. Do you think CF can get 6 seasons?
ReplyDeleteHonestly, over the years, I have learned what not to do if I don't want to be spoiled. For example I would not be on twitter or any TV sites which are bound to have an article about the episode.
ReplyDeleteI like Cornell.
ReplyDeleteIt was supposed to be, but seeing how the finale ended, it doesn't seem like it. Maybe we are supposed to take that as an "open ending", I don't know.
ReplyDeleteAlso *anthology
There are talks of only Juliette Lewis returning with a new case.
ReplyDeleteAnd it was a cable show.
ReplyDeleteTNT should have still kept it. It was epic... :(
ReplyDeleteABC will wait till May 13th thou to officially announce S5 wonder why.
ReplyDeleteBattle Creek + American Odyssey = Revenge
ReplyDeleteThe Good Wife :(
ReplyDeleteJust think how bad NBC would be if they didn't have VOICE Sunday Night Football, and the Super Bowl this year. They sure screwed up moving TBL to Thursday
ReplyDeleteThey really should. Would CBS really consider moving Good Wife to Friday?
ReplyDeleteOUAT without any questions
ReplyDeletewhat new show is she in?
ReplyDeleteI am SO sorry! I honestly didn't even think about it. I feel completely horrible :( I'm usually so careful about spoilers too :(
ReplyDeleteDon't worry ;) You didn't spoil me, since I watched the show early in the morning today just to avoid these things, but it was just to prevent it to happen to others.
ReplyDeleteHalf hours???
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those who dropped it in season 2 and I'm definitely watching to see how it ends. I'm sure there are many others.
ReplyDeleteMakes no difference since abc cancelled it really.
ReplyDeletePaul Lee changed mind when he saw how season 4 story end was going work out so they decide not give half season 5.
ReplyDeleteIt is if the end
ReplyDeleteanything in 1s is bad has be in 2s to get major profit.
ReplyDeleteNo to late
ReplyDeleteRevenge being replaced by kingmaker basically revenge 2.0 from same writers producers.
ReplyDeleteAll tv shows go down Adrian eventually after few seasons including OUAT.
ReplyDeleteThat anther show abc will cancel next season if ratings don't improve.
ReplyDeleteRevenge getting good send off despite low ratings all good shows come to an end they lose quality happens to every show.
ReplyDeleteCBS pilot Doubt.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter now if does doesnt as it been cancelled by abc but revenge fans can watch kingmaker with like revenge 2.0 i the fall.
ReplyDeleteI hope it gets picked up! I love her so much.
ReplyDeleteouat needs change the day
ReplyDeleteThat was absolutely insane and the promo is bitter sweat
ReplyDeleteYou watched it already? It was so good, wasn't it? I loved it so much. And I am addicted to the promo!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is if show ending it had good run but show was going end anyway apparently the creative team had done enough in the story.
ReplyDeleteWhy wont have clue what going on.
ReplyDeleteYeah i watched. That last scene and the whole way victoria did it completely blew my mind! Well done, Revenge writers and well played, Madeleine stowe. Next episode will really be intense and i will cry, a lot!!!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't that hard to figure it out, tbh, since Emily explained in detail Victoria's plan and everybody knows their eternal feud
ReplyDeleteRecenteπππππ
ReplyDeleteRevenge πππππ
ReplyDeleteI mean all episodes since season 2 the fans that left.
ReplyDelete
