-Ratings Breakdown:
Two-hours of “American Idol” led Fox to victory, with a 6.2 rating/10 share in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m., which was right on par from one year earlier. But, as announced earlier this week, “American Idol” will be concluding next season. And the perfect scenario would be for original judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul to return. Stay tuned.
“Survivor” on CBS opened the night with a second-place 5.5/ 9 from 8-9 p.m., which was seven percent below the 5.9/10 one week earlier. But it will still be enough to clearly beat competing “American Idol” in adults 18-49 (and the other key demos). While not the best season, “Survivor” is always an addiction. And it led into two episodes (including the season finale) of “CSI: Cyber” at a fourth-place 4.3/ 7 in the 9 p.m. hour and a third-place 4.3/ 7 at 10 p.m. While CBS would like you to believe returning “CSI” Cyber” is a hit it is not…at least not yet. And the network is hoping the arrival of Ted Danson (from canceled parent “CSI”) next season will help.
ABC, which will remain intact on Wednesday next season, featured a night of season finales as follows:

8:00 p.m. “The Middle”: 4.7/ 8 (#3)
8:30 p.m. “The Goldbergs”: 4.4/ 7 (#3)
9:00 p.m. “Modern Family”: 5.6/ 9 (#2)
9:30 p.m. “black-ish”: 4.0/ 6 (#4)
10:00 p.m. “Nashville”: 3.7/ 6 (#3)
NBC also aired season-finale installments of “The Mysteries of Laura” (#4: 4.3/ 7), “Law & Order: SVU” (#3: 4.8/ 8) and “Chicago PD” (#1: 4.6/ 8), which will be on a brief hold until November when variety hour “Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris” steps in. And The CW closed the night with the season finale episodes of “Arrow” (#5: 2.2/ 4) and “Supernatural” (#5: 1.4/ 2).

About the Daily Ratings
Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.
