Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. The overnights are your first look at what to potentially expect when the other results come in. And we always take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence. Keep in mind, as always, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate.
-Winners:
“Dancing With the Stars” (ABC), “The Voice” (NBC)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“The Following” (Fox), “The Originals” (CW), “Stalker” (CBS), “Jane the Virgin” (CW), “The Night Shift” (NBC)

Ratings Breakdown:
Overnight results were nothing unusual on this second Monday in May, with “Dancing With the Stars” leading ABC to victory in households and the home of “The Voice,” NBC, poised for dominance in the key demographics.
“Dancing With the Stars” scored a 9.3 rating/15 share in the overnights from 8-10 p.m., which was right on par from one year earlier. Competing “The Voice” (#2: 6.4/10), which will top the night in adults 18-49 (and the other key demos), scored a 6.4/10 (which was slightly below the 6.9/11 one year earlier).
Airing out of “Dancing With the Stars” was the season-finale of “Castle” at a first-place 5.4/ 9 at 10 p.m., which bested the competition – “NCIS: Los Angeles” on CBS (5.1/ 9) and “The Night Shift” on NBC (3.1/ 5) – by 6 percent and 74 percent, respectively. One of the expected announcements later today by ABC could be a new time period for “Castle” next season. Stay tuned.
There were two other season-enders last night: “The Originals” (#5: 1.0/ 2 at 8 p.m.) and critically acclaimed “Jane the Virgin” (#5: 1.0/ 1 at 9 p.m.) on The CW. Given the lackluster rating results all seasons, expect The CW to announce a revamped line-up for Monday next season.
On Fox, two episodes of drama “The Following” earned its cancellation stripes with an average 2.3/ 4 in the overnights from 8-10 p.m. And so did axed “Stalker” on CBS, which could not compete with a distant 4.0/ 6 in the 9 p.m. hour.
Earlier in the evening on the Eye net were renewed sitcoms “2 Broke Girls” (#3: 4.8/ 8 at 8 p.m.) and “Mike & Molly” (#3: 5.0/ 8 at 8:30 p.m.), which were both at typical overnight levels. Given Melissa McCarthy’s upcoming film schedule, “Mike & Molly” is expected to be held back…once again…until later in the season.
Look for ABC’s Fall 2015 line-up posted at our website (www.tvmediainsights.com) at approximately 12:15 p.m. ET today, with CBS tomorrow and The CW on Thursday.

Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. I should just say it here. I changed my Name from goodbye Revenge 2011-2015 to Missions.
ReplyDeletehow did you like the finale?
ReplyDeleteCW is up but both shows are losers... ok
ReplyDeleteWhy missions?
ReplyDeleteThe wait for ABC schedule is killing me... and at 12:15 I'll be driving so wont be able to see it :(
ReplyDeleteIt may be earlier, last year was around 11:45 ish (If I am not mistaken)
ReplyDeleteA secret :)
ReplyDeleteHope that Jane up in finale.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed. But maybe we could discuss in the best scene poll since DarkUFO prefers to avoid off topicdiscussions here. I Would love to talk about it though :)
ReplyDeleteTVBTN posted it last year at 2 something not sure what time it was announced though.. The previous years it was posted early morning... I'm hoping before 11 but I doubt it... ABC likes to make people suffer
ReplyDeleteIKR qnd the trailers!
ReplyDeleteLOL ok
ReplyDeleteRip Revenge, hoping that their new sunday soap Oil will be work.
ReplyDeleteABC has released some pictures of the new shows.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be posting them all very shortly :)
ReplyDeleteTO is even with last week stellar 0.47 but JTV is up from hh 0.8 to 1.0 this week, so yeah looking the HH numbers both are loosers.
ReplyDeleteYou should of put (formally Revenge2011-2015) after missions
ReplyDeleteGood DWTS looks up from last weeks 8.8
ReplyDeleteThe Voice looks down again...
Please as a friendly reminder, this post is to discuss the ratings.
ReplyDeleteIf you wish to discuss a particular show then use the "What did you think of " articles or the Open community discussion post.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks! I really don't want to accidentally stumble on to any spoilers haha (I'm about 5 episodes behind..)
ReplyDeleteYaay
ReplyDeleteMarc is back to calling JTV critically acclaimed bless him.
ReplyDeleteThe Night Shift's 3.1/5 is a season low on Mondays and very close to as series low. As I wrote before, great for the fans that NBC let Sony continue with this show, but it's going to be a disaster when it returns. Even in summer, it's going below a 1.0. This is exactly what NBC has to avoid when scheduling in the future as adding things to keep Sony happy will just hurt them in the end.
ReplyDeleteWell it really is critically acclaimed thats not a lie.
ReplyDeleteBut why let him annoy you people so much i just do not understand it, he can have opinions about HH ratings right or wrong.
Jane the Virgin solid last week with 0.7 W18-34 and 0.5 A18-34
ReplyDeletepreliminary, but The Originals did awful: 0.4 W18-34 and 0.3 A18-34.
Can your next mission be stopping Robert Greenblatt from singing/dancing/or doing anything musical again? That was embarrassing for all involved at the upfronts.
ReplyDeleteOh I know and he doesn't annoy me (I know he does for some people) I just find it assuming that there are certain sayings he always uses when discussing some shows.
ReplyDeletejupp he probably copy pastes every week ;)
ReplyDeleteOh hello lol, I was wondering where you went!
ReplyDeleteSo not that good for TO. Hoping for a 0,6, fearing an 0 4.
ReplyDeleteI hope CW won't sacrifice TO in their schedule and it'll get a none Friday slot.
Certainly the numbers aren't good. OTOH the night is up by 47% according to the article, so they did improve Mondays. With so many renewals and with the CW ordering at least a few new shows, I'm really curious as to what their schedule will be next year.
ReplyDeleteit will get a 0.5, that 0.4 is not a possibility
ReplyDeleteI'm really interested to see CW's fall ratings next season. Most of their shows are at or below 0.5 now, and SPN & IZ aren't that far above. It'll be interesting to see which if any bounce back or rise.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Nolan's Missions? I didn't watch the show after S1 but I read that Emily passed on her 'revenge legacy' to him.
ReplyDeleteIt will be announced at 12pm ET
ReplyDeleteThats in 2 hours and 25 minutes, I changed the 12pm ET to my local, but im not sure if I did it right.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I have :)
ReplyDeleteGood News for Castle Fans! Stana Katic Returning for S8 per deadline
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope they will rebounce. They did last fall. But U never know.
ReplyDeleteThink JTV and The100 will have the toughest job.
I have a feeling it will be a schedule that will either wow or infuriate most of us hahaha. GIven the circumstances, we can't expect a 'just ok' schedule for them this year. That's just what I feel.
ReplyDeleteSadly yes, it might be JtV and The 100 who'll have to prove their worth next season. JtV has a bit of an advantage being a critical darling, though The 100 has a more active fanbase. Reign is definitely toast.
ReplyDeleteI Wanna the CW upfront, i need to know the destiny of Reign :(
ReplyDeleteMe me too.Im dying waiting for Thurs when CWs schedule will be announced
ReplyDeleteThink Reign can rebounce if people find out Conde is toast and gone from the show.
ReplyDeleteBut that is a big IF. But it will all depend on the promotion and a bunch of other stuff.
Only arrow and spn rebounded the rest got stuck with their spring numbers.
ReplyDeleteWhat u think will hapen?
ReplyDeleteYou forgot about the Flash who is usually gets 1.2-1.5 ratings.
ReplyDeleteWell Flash premiered this fall so it had nothing to rebound from ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah but it was able to get those numbers on spring where CW shows usually tumbles due to DST.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that. It's already pulling 0.3s. JTV/iZombie has better chance of growth once their episodes become available on Netflix. Netflix sampling didn't help Reign's ratings though.
ReplyDeleteI don't know.I think Reign moves to Fri,The 100,IZombie plus new shows get shorter seasons, while TO,Jane,Arrow,SPN,Flash& Likley VD get full seasons and TO or SPN move to Thurs post VD.
ReplyDeleteI'd say poor TO... but that horrible episode deserves the worst.
ReplyDeletetrue but i wasn´t talking about this springs numbers i was talking about how of the cw shows that aired last year and they all had a horrible spring last year only arrow and spn managed to reclaim or in arrows case increase previous fall ratings.
ReplyDeletewell the effect of that wont be felt until next fall, but i´m seeing alot of TO negativity today was it really that bad? i mean i´ve seen a couple of episodes and thought they were just the worst but i´ve never seen so much hate from the actual TO stans before.
ReplyDeleteToo little too late, almost an entire season's worth of damage is already done.
ReplyDeleteI also think it's a bit to late but U never know, especially if the show airs during summer.
ReplyDeleteI actually lost interest during the latter part of the 1st season. I went back this season for a few episodes but I gave up. I actually found Conde to be a bright spot this season haha
ReplyDeleteI know know. The only positive thing for Reign is that U can drop in anytime and U'll don't have to catch up to much.
ReplyDeleteFrankly? It was embarassing. It gave me second-hand ebarassment.
ReplyDeleteI think if it rebounds in ratings next season, it will be nothing short of a miracle. They gave the audience nothing to be excited about, except perhaps those who are in it for daddy Klaus fussing over his bundle of joy.
CW 0.5/0.5
ReplyDeleteTO 0.5 and 0.4 in 18-34
ReplyDeleteJTV 0.5 in both
The Voice 2.4/2.4
ReplyDeleteThe Night Shift 1.2
DWTS 2.0/2.3
ReplyDeleteCastle 1.4
ReplyDeleteCastle 1.4
ReplyDeleteConde is a great character, but Mary's decisions involving him were *barf* .
ReplyDeleteHe isn't the first nobleman to fall in love with a Queen.
2BG 1.6
ReplyDeleteM&M 1.7
Stalker 1.3
NCIS: LA 1.3
The 9:30 half hour
ReplyDeleteDWTS- 2.3
The Voice 2.4
The Following 1.0/0.9
ReplyDeleteGuys please stay cool and don't comment the Abc schedule to much. I won't be able to participate. *crying in the inside*
ReplyDeleteI thought it was good. The resolution we got was worth two seasons of build up. I don't get why some were disliking it.
ReplyDeleteEsther finally found her happy place, and so does Dahlia. Plus everything else opens up many possibilities of where the show will go from here next season.
Nice New profile pic ;)
ReplyDeleteIf it's not a blood bath people don't like it. ^^
ReplyDeleteDWTS Did a 2.3 in its final half-hour- ABC should really consider moving Castle
ReplyDeleteThere's always room for that next season. :D
ReplyDeleteLA will probably go to Sunday next season. Ratings are just too low. Never would have guessed it would fall so far.
ReplyDeleteYep. I surprisingly found it pretty good, after all the bad comments.
ReplyDeleteThe writers made a huge mistake of trying to drag that out for almost an entire season.
ReplyDeleteCastle is doing beyond terrible
ReplyDeleteDisappointing for CW,i thought they would hit 0.6 :-(
ReplyDeleteAre u former Aciel?
ReplyDeleteI am former Revenge and OUAT, Goodbye Revenge
ReplyDeleteYeah, the show had to wrap that up till ep 15. This is to much.
ReplyDeleteCastle following a strong DWTS with that same, paltry 1.4 it's had basically all season. Time to move to Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI hated the episode too but still sad to see it didn't get finale bump.
ReplyDeleteConsidering LA had the worst lead-in of the three 10 p.m. dramas, it's holding OK, but FAR below what it should be getting. I'm still not sure of the logic of finishing Scorpion early and not holding episodes for May sweeps. It just doesn't make sense, but, then again, a lot of CBS' moves this season weren't logical.
ReplyDeleteI think nashville should move and end after season 4
ReplyDeleteShould probably move it to Fridays. Blue Bloods is doing just fine in their timeslot. But NCIS:LA as the 9PM show on Fridays, I say.
ReplyDeleteIt was somethings that shouldn't have been dragged out this long.
ReplyDeleteNo cliffhanger.Predictable throughout the episode.Recycled SLs.No idea what to do next season.
ReplyDeleteCastle won it's timeslot.
ReplyDeleteIt is time for me to let go of revenge. Even if it is hard. i am ready to do so
ReplyDeleteAt least the show had a decent series finale. Not many show can say that.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed JtV adjusts up. Nice for it to build its overall audience VS The Originals. I think it has a chance to just move earlier during the night for next year's schedule.
ReplyDeleteI disagree, moving the show to friday will just kill it entirely.
ReplyDeleteYes Castle won its timeslot but not by much. ABC should move Castle, maybe to Tuesday. NCIS LA'S move to Monday hasn't been great but then again everyone's numbers have gone down this year( except Empire of course) I am a little surprised Following couldn't do better knowing that its almost over. Nothing else surprises me on Monday

That is true. i really enjoyed it
ReplyDeleteThe entire hour was rushed but they sold me on the ending.Job well done.
ReplyDeleteGreat for Castle!! love the season finale, best show ever
ReplyDeleteNice for JtV still hoping it will adjust up
ReplyDeleteIt is actually doing better than most shows in the 10 p.m. slot. Everything is down this year.
ReplyDeleteWoao at CBS comedies D: hope 2BG pulls at least 1.8 for the season finale.
ReplyDeleteNot yet. The article says the are "finalizing the deal" - which means they are on negotiations, just like before. Am I the only one who cares about reading the articles too, not just the headlines?
ReplyDeleteCastle new season will be the last !
ReplyDeleteThat's when i stopped too. ..He/she changes the name often its getting hard to k
ReplyDeleteWas revenge your number 1 favorite show? If I had favorite favorite show, I would include that Shows name in my name :'D I have really high expectations for The Flash's Penultimate episode and if it turns out to be as awesome as I'm hoping, I will change my name to Dan The Flash or FlashD or The Flash Dan or FlashDan xD I can't decide.
ReplyDeleteYou forgot HTGAWM! (:
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna miss Jane so much this summer
ReplyDeleteDid anyone notice CW saying new episodes this fall of Jane/TO last night?I'm sure they'll do it Flash,Arrow,SPN ,VD too.Are they trying to help us predict their schedule?
ReplyDelete
